Immortal Rest

Author announcement: I need to write this story, and i don't like writing this part. I'm gonna summarize what you missed and move on. please don't hate me. Sorry for the short chapter, next one will follow in a day or so.

Weeks went past, and the numbers of ponies dwindled. at last, the only ponies left were Twilight sparkle, Sunny Daze, Rarity, Fleur De Lis, and a unicorn mare from canterlot named Diamond Shimmer. They each awaited the final stage, when it would be announced who the next princesses of the sun and moon would be. Each mare was given her own suite in the castle, and if they did not win the competition, they would still be permitted to live there.

All of the mares were preparing themselves for the final stage of the competition. Manes were styled, makeup put on, dresses worn. Finally, the announcement was made. all of the mares were to report to the throne room.

All five of the ponies stood in a row before the Sun and Moon Princesses. Princess Luna stepped forward.

"We thank you all for coming here today, and for leaving your families long enough to see this through. We wish each and every one of you could win, but you cannot. only two of you here today will become the Princesses of Equestria. This has been a very hard decision for both of us. Thank you." Together, the two alicorns spoke.

"The Moon Princess of the next Equestrian government will be Twilight Sparkle." Twilight beamed. "The sun Princess will be Sunny Daze. Thank you, for your sacrifice." The two alicorns walked out of the room.

Rarity sank to the floor and began to cry. Fleur stared at the floor. Diamond Shimmer ran out of the room in tears. Twilight and Sunny cautiously walked up the steps to the throne. The two mares looked down upon their former competitors. There was no turning back now.
