‘No No nooo”
Dreamur had quit Minecraft many years ago after he had become strangely addicted to the game. After spending two whole straight days in Minecraft VR, he had decided that he needed a break from the game. He had never played it after that. Maybe he should just accept his fate. Dreamur cautiously approached the chest.
In the world of Minecraft, physics are not the same as in real life. Blocks defy gravity, trees can grow instantly, and building is much easier.
He sighed rolling her eyes in annoyance, “let’s get this over with.”
He popped open the chest with his front two hooves, leaning over to see what was inside. He had been expecting common materials like water, lava, saplings, and stuff he needed to survive. What he got completely disappointed him.
It was one ender pearl. One...
“AHHHHHHHHH!”
Dreamur screamed until his throat was raw. Why did he always have to have the worst luck! There was literally nothing he could do with the one measly Pearl. He couldn’t even use it to go anywhere because there where no where to teleport! Ender Pearls could only teleport the user if it hit a target. Dreamur plopped down on the fuzzy grass, belly first. Why was he here? Why could he feel pain? How would he get off this island? Stop, he needed to stop and think rationally.
“Take in your surroundings,” he thought to himself.
Dreamur looked around cautiously at his tiny island. There was the chest that had the pearl and the dirt floor. He looked over the edge to see if anything was there. The island was completely made up of stone except for the top layer.
No trees.
Just dirt. Just Dirt.
“No food, no materials, and nowhere to go,” Dreamur sighed.
Maybe it would be the best if he just ended it all. He could jump of the edge into the unknown void. Would he die instantly, or fall forever, eventually starving to death? He gingerly approached the edge. Maybe he should just accept his death. There was nothing he could do anyway. Dreamur began to tear up. He didn’t want to die. He didn’t know if he had family or friends, but that didn’t matter. He was just afraid of death. Sniffing, he gazed out in the distance. All that was out there was sky. He noticed an annoying blur in the middle of his vision. He tried to wipe it away with his hoof, but it remained there. Realizing what that it wasn’t in his eyes, he exclaimed in excitement! There was something out there!
Dreamur’ s eyes grew wide as he realized that it was an island!
“Yes, I’m saved!” He shouted. “I don’t have to die.
“Wait, think Dreamur,” He thought to himself. “How was he going to get over.”
Observing the island in the distance, he noticed that it had a castle on it. There a bunch of animals, outside of it. It was much bigger than his own island, extending to about 40 by 40 blocks. It wasn’t that big compared to a normal castle. He eventually gave up trying to will his eyes to see inside the castle, and slowly, he lowered himself down on the grass staring up in the sky. Leaning his head against the chest, he heard his stomach rumbling. It was saying, “Give me food. Give me food!” And it was gradually getting louder, but there was nothing he could do about it. He closed eyes, with the cool surface of the chest on his head.
“Wait, the ender pearl!”
He pushed himself to his hooves with the assistance of the chest, and pulled out the glossy pearl. This one ball, could save his life. Dreamur frowned. He hadn’t thought about how far the island was. Ender pearls could only be thrown so far, and the island looked a little out of his throwing reach. Was there anyway he could get a little closer? Oh the dirt! If collected the dirt blocks, and maybe it would be able to extend just far enough.
Dreamur quickly got to work mining away the top layer of dirt block. After he was finished, he trotted over to the west edge, which was the side of the island facing the other island in the distance. He placed a block of dirt on the edge with much caution, so he wouldn’t fall off the it. Of course, the dirt block stayed floating in the air, just like the island, with its gravity defying physics. That was one of his favorite thing about the game. Without gravity on most of the world, it was easy to create amazing buildings and structures.
Dreamur sighed, he didn’t realize how much he had missed Minecraft until, he awoke on this island. Block after block, he gradually made his was closer and closer to the island. Even though it wasn’t much, Dreamur felt that the extra distance calm his nerves. Dreamur started at the island in the distance. It was much bigger than the one he awoke on. Readying him self mentally, he looked at the ender pearl in his other hand. It was the remains of an enderman once killed. Maybe the enderman’s death would give him a chance at living.
Dreamur was ready, he pulled back his hoof as far as he could, and chucked the pearl as far as he could. He had heard that when actions that your life depended on time seemed to slow, but he experienced none of this. The Pearl soared through the sky speedily, and after four seconds, It was halfway there. Dreamur could only watch as the life saving pearl zoomed down on the island. He wanted to close his eyes, but he knew he had to watch. Please. It had to hit the platform. Yes! He saw the ender pearl so close to the island. It was about to hit!
Dreamur noticed movement from the top of the tower. His eyes opened wide in fear, as he realized that it was a pony! He couldn’t tell it’s gender, but he could tell that it had a crossbow. At first he thought that the pony was trying to shoot him, and began to trot back to the island, but then realization struck him in the face. The pony was among at the pearl.
He finally understood what everypony else was always talking about. The Crossbow jolted as the quarrel was launched through the air. Time seemed to slow in his eyes. The Quarrel sped towards the pearl intercepting it right when it was about it hit the island. It was only a block away.
Dreamur faced that familiar feel as he teleported through the fabrics of his reality to another. He was spit out at the other side where the pearl hit the arrow. He was falling in the sky. Flailing his hooves about, he desperately attempted to grab a hold of anything, anything at all. Pain filled though is front leg as it struck the hard stone on the side of the island. How he was holding on to flat stone, he didn’t know. The pony body could do amazing things sometimes. Dreamur realized that he didn’t feel any pain from the enderpearl impact. That was a plus on top of the fact that he was still alive, but he was still fighting for his life. Oh no, the other pony!
‘Dreamur looked up in time to see the other pony finish reloading the crossbow, and aiming it at his head. So this was it then, huh? Arrows or void, none worse. Dreamur’ s eyes filled with tears as he realized that he was going to die. He’s never know who he was, or how he came here. This was it.
“Please spare me!” He cried as a last resort, but the pony didn’t relent. Dreamur hear the “twang” of the arrow, and let go of the hard cold stone.
Falling. Falling. Dreamur closed his eyes. This was it then , huh? Nothingness.
The pony on the castle turned away from the fallen pony, and walked back into the castle. The job was done, the Castle was safe. He left just in time, to not hear the electric buzz of a teleported being activated.
