He waisted no time on formalities, opening the door, so that she could swoop in and get to it without having to knock. Cadence rushed to the library, the dragon ran alongside her. “It’s bad, I’ve never seen her this bad before. She’s Twilghting on a whole new level.” They threw open the final set of doors. “Huh whuzat!” Startled, Twilight looked back and forth, then she looked downward. “Oh no, I drooled on Ocellus’s essay. I can’t grade it like this, or hand it back to her. This was mouth written, she worked so hard on it, what have I done.” Starlight lifted her head, zapped it with that spell she used to restore the friendship journal, then nodded back to sleep. “Thanks Starlight.” Cadence eyed the room. There was a stack of papers so high it threatened to collapse and crush Twilight. A schedule was written on the blackboard which spilled over onto the walls and floor. Post-its were everywhere, and the next step she took trampled over mile five of the too-do-list. “Twilight, did you work so hard you passed out.” “What, no I couldn’t have. I would never sleep on the job. What sort of head-mare would I be it I were the type of pony who sleeps on the job?” “Starlight’s doing it,” Spike commented. Twilight said nothing, she just put a blanket over her and motioned for them to take this into the next room. They tried to close the door gently, yet there was a crash from the stack of papers finally falling over. “Cadence, I know what you’re going to say.” “I know a way you might be able to work three times more effectively.” Twilights eyes bugged out and Cadence just calmly let loose a wry grin. A few minutes later they were out in the garden. “Now watch closely. I’m going to cast the spell on you this time, and next time you can do it for yourself.” With a stick, Cadence drew a triangle in the dirt, then asked Twilight to stand in the center. Twilight watched her with the upmost seriousness. Cadence believed she could repeat this spell after seeing her perform it once, and Twilight did not want to disappoint. Cadence explained that this was a well kept secret amongst Alicorns. “If that’s so, then why hasn’t Celestia taught it to me yet?” “There are dangers with this spell. Don’t worry, I’m here if anything goes awry. You see Twilight, we as Alicorns embody aspects of the three pony races. We are Earth Ponies, Pegasi, and Unicorns combined. This spell separates those aspects.” “You mean I’ll become three ponies, an Earth Pony, a Pegasi and a Unicorn. That is so fascinating. And when the spell wears off, I’ll have the memories of all three.” “Wait,” Spike interrupted, “what’s the dangerous part. Why hasn’t Celestia shown this to her yet?” “Just as your bodies will be different from one another, your mind will not be the same in each of your three forms.” “My mind won’t be the same?” Twilight spoke in a high pitch. She was trembling just a bit. It was an excited tremble though. “Each of the three will still be you, just different aspects of you. Here’s an example, when Celestia splits her Earth Pony form likes chocolate cake the best, her Unicorn form prefers vanilla, and her Pegasus form just loves strawberry.” “Really, her favourite cake isn’t any of those three when she’s whole.” “Here is another example. When I split, my Pegasus form is all about its royal duties, it doesn’t even give my daughter a second thought, that is frightening for me, but it is okay because my earth pony form loves her with a purer form of all the love I have for her.” Twilight nodded, analyzing the ramifications. “So what does the unicorn version of you do?” Spike asked. Cadence’s face blushed a crimson red. “Let’s just say that aspect of me is Shining Armours favourite.” Twilight remained in the dirt sketched triangle, so Cadence knew she still wished to continue. Candence readied herself to cast the spell. “What about princess Luna?” Spike asked. “She doesn’t do it much, thankfully.” Spike wouldn’t drop the issue after that cryptic last word, so Cadence explained. “One of her aspects is, basically Nightmare Moon.” “Really.” “Yes.” “So she can just let Nightmare moon out and talk to her, like they were separate beings.” “Well, they don’t talk exactly. One time I saw her let Nightmare moon out just so the other two could wail on her. It was… more disturbing then the whole Tantabus thing. That mare’s psychologist sure has his work cut out for him.” At last they moved on to the spell. Twilight stood in the triangle, and Cadence stood at the base. Something glowed in Cadences chest, then moved up to her horn, she passed the glow to Twilight, and Twilight trustingly took it into herself. ‘Where three is one, Let one be three, From inner turmoil, Now be free. Twilight seemed to fade as three other ponies came into focus. One stood at each of the points, and sure enough there was a lavender unicorn, earth pony, and one Pegasus. When she was certain the spell was complete, the Unicorn Twilight frolicked outward to where she could spot the others. “This is amazing, you three are amazing. Now we can get three times the work done. Amazing!” The Pegasus Twilight, stretched her wings, admiring them in the process. They were more muscular then before. It felt like the strength was there, yet it had been diluted, now she was a more pure version of herself. She wanted to explore her body, get to know it, be physical with it. “Sorry egghead, you’re only getting two times the work done.” “Excuse me,” unicorn Twilight spoke in shock. “What do you mean only two?” “I wanna see what this body of mine can do, how different it is without you fillies diluting my awesomeness.” “Your awesomeness,” Spike raised an eyebrow, speaking in his more dry and sarcastic tone. “You mean you won’t help at all?” “I am helping, by getting out of the way. I don’t think I’d know a good essay from a bad one anyway. You two eggheads do you’re thing, me, I need to be doing something at least twenty percent cooler than this right now.” In a gust of wind, Pegasus Twilight took off with greater speed then Twilight ever thought she was capable. Unicorn Twilight looked at Cadence. The look seemed to say aren’t you going to go after her. “Well, I don’t think she’s evil necessarily.” Earth pony twilight jumped twice into the air, as though trying to take off after Pegasus Twilight. She seemed embarrassed at the realization that she was grounded. “The way she acted was very familiar.” Earth pony Twilight tried to make an insightful comment, as though looking to redeem herself for her silly actions a moment ago. “Maybe, since wings are new to us, her personality is less formed and just copies a role model.” “Then why couldn’t it have been Fluttershy?” Unicorn Twilight sighed. “I guess now you’re going to start acting like Pinkie Pie.” “Of course not, darling. Unicorn took a moment to catch that last word, but when Earth Pony Twilight caught that look of realization on her face, she couldn’t help but break out laughing. Earth Twi worried that maybe there was a little Pinkie in her. Meanwhile, Starlight, was still asleep.

Earth Pony Twilight looked down from the papers she was grading. “I’ve only existed for about an hour and a half now.” She was more coy then existential about it. Actually she appreciated the little break. It was hard writing with her mouth, levitation was far more preferable. “That’s not what I meant. Okay Twilight’s been split into her three aspects, so when did she get an earth pony aspect? Did she have one before she became an Alicorn? Do all Unicorns have one?” “Nope, before the ascension, she, I only had a unicorn aspect.” “Then what is an earth pony aspect?” Spike thought it might be rude to tell her this, but he always defined earth ponies in the negative. They’re ponies without wings or horns. “Do you have super-strength or something?” Twilight got under the desk. She pressed her back against the bottom and tried to lift with her legs. Her face showed strain. Spike watched the legs of the desk intently, waiting for them to budge even the tiniest bit. “Nope,” she answered. “I guess Applejack got really strong the old fashion way.” “Can you pull stuff out of your hair like it was an inter-dimensional portal.” Twilight reached in. “Spike, stop distracting her while she’s working.” Unicorn Twilight sounded a little harsher then usual, though not so much that Spike could mark it as one of their personality differences. He chalked it up to the overwork, that or a contrast because Earth pony Twilight was so pleasant. “Hey Uni Twi, since you were a Unicorn before you became an Alicorn, does that mean you’re just your normal self now that you’re a Unicorn again?” “Yes, I am.” “Actually, no she’s not.” Cadence corrected. Cadence was grading the math homework. It wasn’t her preference, she chose this because Cadence didn’t know the students well and this had less nuance than essay’s as the answers were simply right or wrong. Earth Twi stretched a bit. “Hey Spike, I’m done grading essays, and I still have some stress from before we even split. Why don’t we go for a walk together?” Surprised to hear she was done, Uni Twi looked over a few of the papers. From what she saw the work seemed acceptable. Even her quill-manship was up to par. Uni Twi’s only complaint was that she was a little too generous with the partial credit. When she wasn’t distracted Earth Twi was more diligent and focussed then Uni Twi. It would be wrong to think of herself as her leader or her superior, because she was the Unicorn. Taking a break also seemed wrong, although science, her friends, and even Princess Celestia all told her that breaks were good for productivity. She didn’t raise any objections. Splat! Pega Twi hit the mud. Now she was a mess. She leaned her head to one side and tapped the other side, hoping to get the filth our of her ears. It was her own fault really. She knew that it was. It was that darn Twilight brain of hers. How much thrust per wingbeat? When free gliding do wings act like a parachute or is it more like the vortex effect of a ships sail. Can I turn at this speed? Guess she knew the answer to that last one. There’s no way every filly is doing all this geometry and calculous in mid flight. The worst part is she was doing fine, until an equation came along that she would’ve needed quill and paper to solve. She was more interested in the question then the manoeuvre she was trying to perform. Next time, math first then flight. What was the question she was trying to solve again? Her last thought before hitting the mud had been forty-two. Was that the answer? What was the question? She was doing it again. C’mon Pega Twi, you’re out in the open on a slightly breeezie day. What’s more interesting math or doing cool flight tricks? Maybe if she opened her wings to expand the surface area at 2/3 of terminal velocity. “Are you okay?” A voice called out to her. Trixie peaked through the curtain. It was the smallest audience yet. She cursed slightly. It’s not that her act was unpopular, there was a heat wave going on, that and every pony in Ponyville had seen it already. Advertising a new trick or two would bring the crowds, back. Also, there was a festival in one week that would attract customers from out of town, so it wasn’t time to go on tour just yet, she reasoned. Still, Trixie was becoming a little too attached to this town, and she knew it. When it came to magic (and only magic) Trixie was a consummate professional. The show would go on even if there wasn’t a single pony there to admire her. Gawd that was a dreadful thought. What could possibly be worse then this? She peeked through the curtain again. Earth Twi smiled and waved at her. She quickly closed the curtain. Trixie peeked two more times, then decided to heck with being professional. She climbed off the stage and went out into the audience section. It was an open air stage. Earth Twi had spread out a blanket, and was sipping a soda, waiting for the show to start. “Sparkle, is that you? What’s the meaning of this?” Trixie’s eyes traced a line from Twilights forehead down to her tail. Earth Twi stretched out a bit, allowing her body to better be seen. “Did Celestia demote you?” That idea just made Earth Twi laugh. Trixie wasn’t the first person to ask about her missing appendages, that was a new one though. Every pony else figured it was either Discord or Zecora. She quickly explained the real reason she had no horn or wings. “That still doesn’t explain what you’re doing here. Are you trying to show me up again, like that time with the Ursa Minor.” She was talking about the fiasco that occurred around the time they first met. “Me, Celestia no! Why I’m just a weak Earth Pony right now. I don’t even have any magic. I just came to see how great and powerful you are.” The great and magnanimous quickly blurted out something that could be considered an apology and told her to enjoy the show. Of course she kept an eye on Earth Twi, even while performing. Earth Twi only clapped politely at most of the card tricks. No surprise there, that was colt and filly stuff anyhow. Once done with cards, she scatted the deck toward the audience, each card exploding into a miniature multi-coloured firework with moderately loud pops. That one did manage to startle Earth Twi a little bit, though it always went over better at her nighttime showings. She yawned once at the ‘saw a pony in half,’ then roared with applause at the pull a rabbit out of a hat. Trixie wondered if that applause was sincere or not. Every-pony knows that one. Earth Twi just seemed frightened and not entertained with the unicycle through flaming hoops. All the other ponies loved that one. The trick she liked best was a mirror trick. Not much to it really, it was more of a gag act. She danced while using mirrors to make it look like a whole chorus line, but one reflection looked clumsy, tripping twice and not really keeping step with all the others. When the show was over, Earth Twi waited for the crowd to disperse. She offered to help Trixie carry her equipment. Trixie politely declined. Earth Twi waited for a minute or two, as though not sure what to do next, as Trixie departed, dragging her stage trunk with her. She trotted until she caught up, then offered to take Trixie out for refreshments. “You want refreshments with me? What sort of refreshments?” Twilight wondered what to tell her. Should she say coffee? Every pony just says coffee, some mares even treat coffee like it’s a code word. Not that it’s okay to assume that’s what ponies mean every time they say coffee. Would Trixie jump to conclusions if she said coffee? That would make it a lot easier. Trixie was getting impatient. “Is there something you want Sparkle.” Earth Twi twiddled her hooves, blushing adorably. “Show me how great and powerful you are.” By the time they reached her stage coach, Trixie was beyond impatient. She pressed Earth Twi’s body against the outside wall of the coach. Celestia’s sun had been beading on the stage coach for hours. It was so hot that the lacquer on the wood was sticky. Trixie tasted the sweat running down Twilight’s neck. It wasn’t kiss exactly, and in a moment it turned into something closer to a bite. Twilight squealed, more from excitement them pain, and the sound surprised her. It was a sound that would only encourage Trixie, and that was fine, Twilight wanted her to bite harder. Her hair smelled of ozone and black powder. It wasn’t sweet like candy, it was dangerous, almost foreboding. Her perfume was the pyrotechnics in her act. Trixie tore herself away from Twilight and began searching her cape. She had misplaced her key. Twilight felt she should do something, try to get Trixie back where she was a moment ago. She’d read, in romance novels, that ponies like to have their ears nibbled on by their lovers. Not quite sure how to do it right, Twilight held the lobe with her lips, and brushed the sides of it with her teeth. Trixie pushed her away. Oh no, Twilight thought. She didn’t like that, it must have been weird for her. It turned out Trixie was just turning around so she could kick in the door with the buck that would have impressed Applejack. The inside was clean, at least free of dirt. Trixies belongings were so cramped that it still gave the impression of being messy. Twilight didn’t have time to ask if it was okay to enter, because Trixie pushed her by the flank into the stage coach. She threw Twilight onto the bed, then barricaded what was left of the door with her stage trunk. Earth Twi had at least a vague notion that their were more then a few ponies she could make love to if she made the option available to them. That’s not quite what she wanted. It occurred to her that sometime between the Ursa Minor and the Alicorn Amulet, Trixie must have been obsessed with her, seething in a jealous rage. Some of that obsession must have lingered even after they reconciled, and now it was being redirected, or perhaps it was just more true to what it had always been. Whatever the reason Trixie was giving Twilight exactly what she desired. Pega Twi quivered, and let out a meep sound. The sound was almost erotic. “Are you sure this is normal?” She asked. “Of course darling. This is how all Pegasi are groomed. Now don’t flinch so much, or you’ll hurt Fluttershy.” Why was Rarity the one teaching her about proper Pegasus feather grooming? The only answer was that Fluttershy’s mouth was too occupied to explain anything. They’d hosed her off first, though that didn’t get the mud caked between her feathers. At the moment, Pega Twi did lay upon her stomach as her kind friend helped clean her off. After her crash, Twilight was so caked in mud they could not even see if she had any injuries. She was sore of course. Fluttershy had first given her a tertiary check for broken bones and all seemed fine. It was embarrassing to have her friends fuss over her like this. Why did she have to practice so close to Fluttershy’s animal sanctuary? “I’ve never been groomed like this before. As an Alicorn I just took bathes.” Fluttershy spit mud as though appalled by the idea. She didn’t try to talk and continued grooming Pegasus Twilights wings. “Feathers have slickness to them, it keeps them from becoming water logged when you fly in the rain.” Rarity explained. “Regular soap and water isn’t good enough to wash them properly.” “Luna gave me a Shampoo for that.” “I’ll have to see this shampoo to make sure Luna is taking care of her own wings. I should also have words with Rainbow Dash. As your first flight instructor, I assumed proper grooming would be the first thing she would have taught you. Now tell me darling, whatever possessed you to even try something as foolhardy as doing a sonic rainboom. “When I… I mean when Twilight first got her wings.” “You can say I, darling. From what I understand, you’re no less Twilight then the other two, so don’t go talking like Trixie now.” Twilight had given them at least the short version of why she was currently not an Alicorn. “Okay, when I got my wings, it was more about becoming a princess than it was about, you know, getting wings. Wings are awesome, and now they’re the thing that sets me apart. I’m the Twilight with wings, and, for Celestia’s sake this sounds ridiculous, I was all ready to prove to them that I’m the awesome one.” “The awesome one, really, how old are you?” “Two hours, I guess. When the spell wears off, we’re all going to merge together, and I was prepared to give them some really awesome memories, to show them how awesome I am. And yes I’m aware that I’m saying awesome like it’s a nervous tick.” “Let me see if I understand this. You want to do something… awesome.” Rarity spoke as though that last word came with some difficulty for her. “Yes,” Twilight answered. “You want to do something adventurous. “That’s right.” “Something the other Twilights would never normally do.” “I guess so.” Something to show those other two that you are a special part of them, no less important to the whole them either of those other two.” “Exactly!” “Darling, might I, and Fluttershy, posit some alternative suggestions.” “So why did you want to do this now of all times.” Earth Twi was a bit surprised by the question. She never thought Trixie would be the type for pillow talk. “From inner turmoil, Now be free.” “What does that mean?” “It was a line from the spell that Cadence used to split me. I’ve been wondering what it meant.” Her voice turned reflective and uncertain. “I wanted this, and I couldn’t think of any reason why not. Maybe, and I don’t know this for certain, maybe all the conflicting feelings I used to have, they went into one of the other Twilights.” “Wait,” Trixie bolted upward, looming over Twilight. “You mean not all the Twilight’s think the same way.” “Of course not.” What, was she hoping to get a menage et trois? Trixie leapt from bed and paced. She didn’t have much space to pace in the stage coach. She kicked some toys out of the way so, so she could pace better. “Trixie, what’s wrong?” “When the spell wears off, will you still like me?” “Like,” Twilight repeated the word, as though confused by the meaning. “Will you even be okay with what we did together?” “Hey don’t talk that way. It’s fine. I’ll make them understand.” Trixie sat down and crossed her arms, pouting. Twilight tried that thing with the ears again, but Trixie pushed her off and kept pouting. “Do you even know what those conflicting feelings you mentioned were all about.” “Of course I do!” “It’s the Unicorn isn’t it. Unicorns are always the most stuck-up. She thinks I’m not good enough, doesn’t she?” As she said this, she realized that didn’t really sound like any version of Twilight. The suggestion also seemed to upset Earth Twi. What was she upset about? Trixie was the only one of the two who actually had a Unicorn horn. “Okay, maybe that’s not it. It’s the responsibility angle isn’t it. She thinks she can’t put time into a relationship because she’s too important to every pony in all of Equestria.” Earth Twi placed a hoof on her shoulder. Trixie knew what was coming. This was still Twilight Sparkle. She was about to pass on a friendship lesson, give her some sound if slightly preachy advice about what she was supposed to learn right now and they’d all be so much happier. “Trixie, why don’t you give me an orgasm that is so ‘Great And Powerful’ that if Alicorn Twilight can still walk she’ll be begging you for another. At that moment, Starlight was well rested and back to finishing her paperwork. Cadence announced that she would go check on the other Twilights, since Earth Twi still wasn’t back from her walk, and had apparently ditched Spike at some point. Spike decided to go with her. Unicorn Twilight turned to her star pupil. “I guess it’s just you and me.” “I guess so,” Startlight responded before immediately returning to her quill and paper. Unicorn Twilight pretended to look at what Starlight was writing, as she sniffed at the nape of her neck. She held her position just a little too long, and Starlight caught on to what was going on. Startlight turned her head, so now they faced one another, their lips practically touching. “So, you wanna go get some coffee.”

After one more pass around Ponyville, she glided downward towards the roof of the Sofa and Quill store. Quickly calculating her decent, versus the upward thrust per wingbeat, and determined that it would take four flaps to avoid any knee strain when she hit the roof. “Wait up!” Spike called. Spike tried to copy what she did, because of weight and speed differences he would have done better with one fewer wingbeat. Cadence grabbed him by the tail as he started to overshoot, and laid him down gently on the roof. “Did you see her?” Cadence asked. “No neither,” Spike replied. Currently they were searching for Twilight Sparkle, and they couldn’t find either one of her. “Flying over Ponyville didn’t work. We should try asking around.” “Y’know,” Spike spoke in a sly tone, “we could cover more ground if you split up.” “You want to see me use the separation spell on myself?” Spike didn’t usually get excited over other ponies magic, he’d seen too much of Discord just being able to do anything to be impressed by even the hardest to learn spell of most ponies. Despite this, he had to admit it was just something interesting about this particular spell. Perhaps he was a bit envious. Imagine being able to spend time with Gabby, Smoulder, and Rarity all at once, each being that favourite of the Spike she was with. Where had that thought come from? He wondered if that’s the sort of inner conflicts that were divided between Twilights different aspects. Probably not, Twilight wasn’t a dragon in the midst of puberty, she was a grown mare. Surely she was beyond such fickle and immature thoughts. “It’s not a bad idea,” Cadence admitted. This broke Spike from this imaginings, and he needed a moment to remember what idea Cadence was talking about. “If I separate myself then my Pegasus aspect can search Cloudsdale, my Earth pony aspect could ask around in Ponyville, and my Unicorn aspect could go to the Everfree Forrest.” Spike nodded a little too enthusiastically. “Alright, I’ll do it.” “Neat.” “Now what can I use to draw a triangle.” “Uh… maybe we should get down on the ground first. That way the Earth Pony you won’t have to climb off the roof.” They descended to the ground. Once their Cadence, used her hoof to trace a triangle in the sand. She stood in the center, focussed her magic, and recited the incantation. ‘Where three is one, Let one be three, From inner turmoil, Now be free. Just as Spike had seen happen with Twilight, Cadence began to fade as three other ponies came into focus. One stood at each of the points, and sure enough there was a pink Unicorn, Earth Pony, and one Pegasus. “Awesome,” Spike commented. The Pegasus examined her wings, almost as though checking which one of the three she actually was. She then took on a serious expression, because apparently Pegasus Cadence is the serious one. “Alright ladies, we each have our missions. I’ll be off to Cloudsdale, from the way Pega Twi was acting, Rainbow Dash and the Wonderbolts might be worth checking out.” “Uh, excuse me,” Spike interrupted. “Now that you’ve split up, who should I go with.” Pega Cadence thought for a moment. Uni Cadence tried to answer Spike, only to be interrupted by Earth Cadence. “I would appreciate the company.” “Is that okay?” Spike turned to Pega Cadence, who just had such a commanding demeanour that the little dragon deferred to her before he could even wonder why. “It’s fine, you’ll help keep her on task, although I’m not sure I want to leave the Unicorn unsupervised either.” Earth Cadence seemed a little shocked at Pega’s harshness. Uni Cadence just stuck out her tongue and gave her a raspberry. “You don’t want to leave me alone. Don’t worry sweetie, I’m sure I’ll find some pony to keep me company.” Pega Cadence seemed to get angry at the remark. Earth Cadence blushed furiously. Spike didn’t quite get what it meant. He whispered to Earth Cadence. “Hey what’s this about.” “Well, you know that together we’re the princess of love right? Apart we’re each stronger in a different kind of love. It’s a little hard to explain.” “Argh! I’m the sexy one,” Unicorn Cadence pointed a hoof at herself. Next she pointed to Earth Cadence. “She’s the mom.” Finally the Unicorn pointed at Pegasus Cadence. “She,” Unicorn stopped herself from being unnecessarily mean, “She expresses love by feeling responsible for everyone and everything.” “Oh.” “And don’t worry! I may like to flirt and tease, but I’d never break our husbands heart.” Soon they all split up on their respective missions. Once they were out of sight, Uni Cadence cast a little memory spell on herself, which she uses to keep things from the other two, then went on with her mission. She walked about twenty paces before passing Earth Pony Twilight at a juice stand. She almost missed her on account of not really looking. “Oh hey, there you are.” Earth Twilight finished taking a sip of her juice before casually giving a nod. “So, you’re a Unicorn now.” “I am. Like what you see.” Unicorn Cadence twirled around, then raised her backside while stretching her front, and giving Twilight a come hither look.” Twilight commented that she was a little shorter as a Unicorn. Insulted Cadence told Twilight she was short for an Alicorn. Just as Unicorn Cadence thought to ask what Twilight was doing, Trixie approached with another juice, and two straws. Trixie had actually never met Cadence, and despite wearing a crown, the Unicorn in front of Twilight was not presenting a particularly royal vibe. Trixie sat next to Earth Twi and placed her hoof upon hers, as if to show Cadence this mare was taken. Twilight didn’t seem to be thinking about her burgeoning romance at the moment, and barely noticed the hoof. She realized that she had went out on a break and never gone back to the castle. “Oh my! I can’t believe I did this. Every pony must be wondering where I am.” Unicorn Cadence giggled a bit. “Twilight Sparkle playing hooky, I never thought I’d see the day.” “It’s not like that. I just…” Cadence came into Twilights personal space, and sniffed at her a little. Next she sniffed at Trixie. “Hey, what are you doing?” “You just saw an opportunity to have a little fun with this cute fireworks scented gypsy here.” “It’s not like that!” Twilight was defensive. Trixie just turned up her nose in a snooty fashion. “Oh don’t be like that. I’m just teasing because you two are so cute together. Hey, how about I teach you a spell for if you want to keep secrets from those other two Twilights.” At that moment, Spike and Earth Pony Cadence were canvasing the neighbourhood. They made there way to the house of Daisy, the flower mare. They knocked twice on the door and Daisy answered. “Hey Daisy, have you seen Twilight today, only she would have been missing some body parts?” “No Spike, I haven’t.” She turned to Earth Pony Cadence. “Who’s your friend?” “I’m Cadence. Do you want to see pictures of my daughter. She’s really cute.” “Okay, come in, I’ll make tea.” Spike groaned. This was the third one. Why do ponies love to see baby pictures so much? We’ll never find Twilight at this rate. “Trixie is not going to be a secret!” Twilight spoke firmly. “Oh, okay.” Unicorn Cadence turned to leave. She took a step, then turned back. “Hey Twilight, you’ll keep that spell a secret right, ladybug promise.” Twilight nodded. Cadence smiled, then trotted off. She should have just taken the spell. It’s going to be real mess when those Twilights remerge. Suddenly a Rainbow streak blew past. Unicorn Cadence’s quick eyes managed to check out what was just a streak to other ponies. “So sleek, yet athletic, this looks promising.” She trotted off in the direction of the streak. ”Okay Sparkle, you promised you would tell Trixie what those conflicting feelings were about.” Twilight had confessed that she never tried to form a relationship with Trixie before, due to conflicting feelings. When she separated into three ponies she remembered having those feelings, yet found herself heading straight in Trixies direction. “I did.” “Yes.” “Hey, the others are probably wondering where I am. Maybe I should head back.” “Sparkle.” “Look I’m just afraid you won’t like the answer.” “That’s all the more reason you have to spill. The longer you keep something in a relationship, the worse it is for your partner.” “Well yes,” Twilight responded, “but our relationship just started today. I mean, how do ponies with real kinky secrets even go on a first date? There’s got to be a grace period about these things.” “It’s because you like some other pony, isn’t it.” “What.” “Is it Starlight? Were you afraid dating me would interfere with your friendship?” “That’s not it!” “Then explain!” “Okay, fine. Just please don’t be too quick to judge.” Twilight braced herself. She took another sip of her drink. She breathed in and out and Cadence, the normal Cadence, had taught her. “Okay, here it goes. I don’t like being the one in charge in the bedroom. I’m sorry I just don’t. I also like it a little rough.” “Yeah I noticed.” “You noticed.” Here Twilight was confessing her deepest darkest secret, and Trixie just shrugged it off like it was common knowledge. “I think it goes back to when I was a filly. I was always really afraid of getting punished.” “Oh were your parents really tough on you?” “No, not at all! No pony ever was. One time, I did something absolutely crazy and I was sure Celestia would send me to the moon. She just forgave me and lightened my work load a bit.” Twilight sounded a little disappointed. “Okay, so how bad is this kink of yours. Will I have to choke you or whip you or talk really dirty?” “No.” Twilight was a little scared at a how cavalier Trixie could be in mentioning such things. “Just what we did this afternoon was perfect really.” They continued to sip their juice for a while. “Well that’s not so strange. It’s actually a bit tame compared to some of the things Trixie has seen. Hey wait a minute! Is it me you like, or did you just think I’d be the one to satisfy that kink of yours?” Earth Twilight laughed in a nervous way. Rainbow Dash slipped on her white coveralls. The scratchy feeling of the fabric only added to her annoyance. She thought she’d never have to wear these again. When Rainbow switched to being a full time Wonderbolt (and schoolteacher) she tried to stay on good terms with the weather factory. She did enjoy the tasks that required strong flyers, and it was safer to have her fight a hurricane then leave it to most other ponies. Unfortunately, on her days off they could still call her for even the more mundane tasks. She put on her hard hat and trotted across the catwalk overlooking the machinery and process. After passing the area where ponies put snowflakes together with tiny tools, she turned left at the area where they grow clouds, and finally made her way to rainbow quality control. There was another pony there, a pink pony who looked very familiar. She was also wearing the white coveralls, even her cutie mark was covered. It seemed like something pointy was under her hairnet, a tiara maybe. “So you the newbie,” Rainbow Dash asked. “Yes, ma’am” Cadence answered in a slightly fake country drawl. He looked her over right then left. Anyone ever tell you that you look just like Princess Cadence?” The pony was quick to smile. “Oh what a compliment,” she said. “A princess really! I hear the princess is supposed to be really beautiful.” “Yeah, she’s a looker, I guess. Hey, we don’t get many Unicorns working here.” “Will that be a problem for the work we’re doing?” Rainbow Dash’s manner was brash, though Cadence took it more as a statement of facts then any sort of insult. “No, it won’t be a problem, not for Rainbow Quality control at least. How did you get up here anyway.” “Oh I hitched a balloon ride with a pink mare who was going a little farther then Cloudsdale herself. She wasn’t going to make the trip at first, until she had a sudden craving for a Cheese Sandwich.” “Okay,” She can’t mean who I think she means, no way. So where is the foreman.” “Off professing his love to a mare he’s only seen in passing yet fantasized about for months.” “Okay, how about the superintendent?” “She’s repairing her relationship with her mother.” “That’s sweet, I guess. What about just the other assembly line workers?” “Two of them are in the closet right now. Best not to disturb them.” Rainbow Dash looked over into the vats of liquid rainbow. “Okay, it’s a good thing we’re in quality control because their must be something in the liquid rainbow.” Cadence tried not to let her giggle sound like an evil cackle. She didn’t blame Rainbow Dash for thinking what she’s accomplished in so short a time must be magic. Of course, with her level of talent, loves spells were only a crutch. It would be embarrassing to rely on them. Author's Note This wasn't even going to be in the story. I was thinking about the first chapter, and thought it would be a shame to tease at something and not touch it again.

This is exactly how a Pegasus or an Earth Pony might take a PH reading. Cadence was a Unicorn so Dash had to wonder why she didn’t just magically levitate the paper into the vat. She wiggled her tush, for Dash to see, as she took the ph reading. Her cheeks were more cushioned then the very athletic Rainbow Dash, yet still tight in containing that extra plumpness. Rainbow Dash wasn’t ignorant. It was clear that she was showing them off on purpose. As she wiggled, the fabric of her uniform shifted slightly, letting Dash see a bit of her cutie mark. It was a crystal heart. How could that be? Rainbow Dash’s first impression was that this mare looked somewhat like Cadence. She brushed that thought aside. The mare was shorter and obviously not an Alicorn. Honestly it wasn’t even that strange. Though Ponies would rarely admit it, many of them would look alike if you only swapped a few colours around. Cadence turned and tried to pass the strip of litmus paper to Rainbow Dash. Rainbow motioned for her to just set it on the table, and she did. “So what does this test do again.” “The paper changes colour to show how acidic the liquid rainbow is. See here,” she pointed to the side of the paper that Cadence dipped in the vat, “It’s purple, that means the liquid rainbow has a neutral acidity.” “I see.” Cadence looked at the other side of the strip. “The side that was in my mouth turned blue. What’s that mean?” “It means you’re a little bit basic.” Cadence huffed at that comment. It was at that moment that Rainbow Dash noticed something. “Hey Newbie! When you were taking the reading, you stuck your horn right into the liquid.” Cadence feigned surprise, and acted scared when Rainbow Dash scolded her. She turned to one of the factories many stainless steel surfaces, and looked at the gooey bit of rainbow on her horn. “Oh my! Does that mean I made the Rainbow all dirty?” “The word is contaminated! And no, it’s not that delicate, but don’t let the foreman see you like that.” Cadence grabbed a towel but couldn’t reach the tip of her own horn. Again Rainbow Dash wondered why she didn’t just magically levitate the towel. Dash grabbed the towel from her and wiped off her horn. Cadence gave a squeal as Rainbow Dash rubbed her off. Rainbow apologized. She didn’t know first hand, but she’d heard gossip that horns are very sensitive. “I’m sorry.” “I don’t mind.” Cadence gave Rainbow Dash a wink and a look, as though inviting her to do it again. She turned to her reflection. “Oh no! It’s still there. My horn is all messy.” Rainbow Dash scratched her head in thought. “The stuffs pretty harmless. When I get it on my hooves, I just lick it off.” Cadence looked intrigued by the suggestion. “Actually,” Rainbow added, “that’s the only thing that seems to work. Even soap won’t get it out.” Unicorn Cadence stuck out her tongue, only to show Rainbow Dash that she couldn’t reach her horn. Rainbow Dash noticed it was a surprisingly versatile tongue, of course it still did not make it anywhere near the tip. “Alright then, I give you permission to lick my horn.” She lowered her head presenting the member to the surprised Pegasus. “Wait hold on! I can’t just lick your horn.” She made a keep away gesture with her hooves. Cadence looked confused, “Why not.” “Well, horns are sensitive right?” “Sensitive,” Cadence parroted. “Why whatever are you talking about?” She suppressed s sly grin. “They’re sensitive. My friend Rarity told me so.” “I think Rarity was being playful with you.” She presented her horn again. “Now come on, lick it off, before the foreman comes back. I don’t want to get in trouble on my first day.” “I don’t know.” Rainbow Dash was visibly nervous. “Don’t Pegasi groom each others feathers with their tongues. Compared to that, why would this be a big deal for you.” “I guess.” Rainbow Dash approached. “Is there any particular way to do this?” “Just pretend it’s a popsicle.” Rainbow Dash was cautious at first. She gave a tiny lick, as though testing to see if Cadence would moan or squeal when she did. Unicorn Cadence did no such thing, though in truth she was holding back such a moan. The spiciness of the liquid rainbow hit her immediately. Sometimes co-workers haze new hires by daring them to drink the rainbow. Rainbow Dash had been leading up to doing just that, though this Unicorn had turned it around on her. Not wanting to appear squeamish, she finally just went in and took as much of the member as she could into her mouth. Cadence could feel every movement of Rainbow Dash’s tongue as it cleaned her horn. It was a little like a popsicle, Rainbow Dash thought. It was like one of those multi-layer ones with surprise flavours inside. First was the spicy. Next came the peppermint flavour. You see, Unicorns apply oils to there horns for a healthier sheen, peppermint being a popular choice. After that was, OhMyGosh! It tasted like Apple cider. Why did she taste like apple cider? Even though, going by taste, the spicy rainbow was all gone, Rainbow Dash enthusiastically lapped up more of the wonderful flavour she normally only had once a year. Cadence giggled slightly. She’d thought that using magic to make her horn taste like apple cider was too much, but Rainbow Dash seemed to be loving it. Finally was Cadence’s natural flavour. It tasted like cream soda, complete with the fizziness. Realizing, she’d gone a bit overboard, Rainbow Dash pulled back. “Did you get it all.” She looked her horn over, satisfied that she’d at least gotten all the liquid rainbow. “Yeah, it’s out.” “Oh what a relief! Although,” Unicorn Cadence spoke softly, “I’m a little jealous. I never got to taste the rainbow.” “That’s no big deal, if you want a taste just go ahead.” She was going to tell her to use a cup, and not just stick her muzzle into the vat. At that moment, Unicorn Cadence made her move and kissed Rainbow Dash. Now it’s a little hard to explain the subtle differences between the physical attributes of ponies, however like with the ancient greeks the princess of love, may just as well be the goddess of beauty. Though Rainbow Dash new on some level she should reject this kiss, it was going to be difficult to say so considering how her tongue explored the inside of Unicorn Cadence’s muzzle. It was actually Cadence who was the first one to break free of the passionate kiss, and in the aftermath, Rainbow Dash needed a moment to snap back to reality. None-the-less, she was quick to tell her, “That’s not what I meant when I said you could taste the rainbow!” “My bad, I guess you meant I could taste this.” Cadence tried to stick her muzzle in the general direction where Rainbow Dashes tail extended from her backside. Rainbow Dash moved away. Unicorn Cadence pursued. They jogged about three circles around one another, before Rainbow Dash jumped on a railing to get away. The railing was overlooking the vat of liquid rainbow. It had one gate which opened, and that was where Unicorn Cadence had taken the pH reading. Cadence eyed the bolts which supported the railing. They appeared to be bending. “I really think you should get down from there.” “Oh, now you’re trying to be professional.” “Fine I’ll stop messing around. Just get down from there before…” The bolt gave out and the railing collapsed. Rainbow Dash flapped her wings, a moment too late. The act of flapping only served to splash liquid rainbow everywhere around them. Unicorn Cadence looked down into the mess they made. Rainbow Dash was under for a moment. She managed to untangled her hoof from the mesh of the broken railing and was now pony paddling to a point where she could climb out. “Don’t worry. I’ll help you get cleaned up.” As Rainbow Dash towelled herself off, (yes towelled) she told Cadence, not too politely, that the rainbow factory probably wasn’t a good fit for her career wise. “You’re probably right,” she agreed. Guess I’ll have to go back to ruling an empire. Rainbow didn’t hear that last part because she was trying to clean out her ears. She threw down the towel in frustration, proclaiming “This stuff is impossible to clean.” They made their way to the shower room. Both took off their clothes, in order to wash. Cadence started with Rainbow Dash’s wings. Cleaning the wings wasn’t too weird, her mom did it, though Rainbow Dash was in the habit of taking showers. Rarity and Fluttershy tried to convince her many times that it was not proper Pegasi grooming. Anyway, Cadence cleaned her feathers diligently and with no funny business. It was around this time that Rainbow Dash noticed her cutie mark again. In addition to that, she was wearing a crown under her hair cap. Most of her hair was also unblemished thanks to the hair cap. Having fallen right into a pool of liquid rainbow, Rainbow Dash was not so lucky. It was no use asking her questions because her mouth was so occupied. As she cleaned the inside of Dash’s wing, the only place Dash’s mouth could reach was Cadence’s head. She asked if it was okay to clean there, and Cadence gave a nod, so she licked her ear. Cadence didn’t even stop what she was doing, so Rainbow Dash decided to continue. She took in more of that cream soda flavour, which she was starting to like more than cider. It was only fizzy around the horn. Now eating Rainbows doesn’t really fill you up, sometimes if makes you more hungry then when you started. At this point Cadence found something else to eat. This time Rainbow Dash didn’t run away. She presented ‘it’ to her. Cadence held on to Dashes firmer behind feeling her muscles tense and shudder with every taste. She knew just how closer the other Pegasus was to cumming. At this point the showers were turned on. Most of the Rainbow was coming off very easily under the hot water, and soap dissolved it no problem. “You naughty girl, did you play a trick on me.” “What no, honest. They must have changed the formula, I’m hardly ever in the factory anymore.” Cadence wasn’t sure whether to believe her. Why didn’t every-pony have one? As she fingered herself, Cadence also presented her horn to Rainbow Dash. Dash gave it another lick. Immediately a sensation moved through both their bodies. Rainbow Dash squealed in delight. She had no idea how Cadence could possibly resist doing the same. “Keep going,” said Cadence. This was nearly impossible for Rainbow Dash. If some-pony were doing this to her, then she’d have to be held down, despite how thoroughly she enjoyed it. She wondered as she experienced this, if she could ever go back to life without a horn. Of course she didn’t even have a horn right now. She was experiencing the feelings from Cadence’s Unicorn body. Rainbow Dash could have backed away any time she wanted, yet she continued to press forward. As Cadence came closer to the brink, so to did she, there bodies in perfect synchronization. Feeling she was only being teased with how Cadence played with herself, Rainbow Dash with a bit of roughness, laid her on her back so that she could take over. Cadence understood, and resumed working on her own horn while Rainbow Dash took over with her private bits. At the instant of climax, for both of them, the wreath did more than synchronize physical sensations. For just a few moments, there was no Rainbow Dash. She was Cadence. That’s not to say the carnal experiences were irrelevant. Fast forward a few years down the line. Her husband was becoming harder and harder to please. Perhaps it’s because when they married Cadence was pure while Shining Armour had been deceived into at least one wild night with a Shapeshifting Succubus. Maybe his expectations were always high on account of her being the pony equivalent to a goddess of love, maybe he was just a pig. Whatever the reason, they’d come home from a Wonderbolts show in the Crystal Empire, Shining Armour had taken her to their bed chambers, and in the throws of passion he dared ask, “Hey, you think you can get any of those Wonderbolts to join us some night!” She was a little angry, though this actually wasn’t his strangest request. There was a favourite castle maid under the covers with them at the time, though even she, who Shining referred to as 'Lowly Servant,' was looking at Cadence as if to say, ‘Are you going to take that?’ When Rainbow Dash’s consciousness reasserted itself, she needed a moment to think. It was incredible, yet it was also like a dream, and parts of dream are often hard to remember when you wake up. “So how was it?” Unicorn Cadence asked. Rainbow Dash remembered all the best parts, only there was something else, something important. Finally she knew what she just had to say. “You wanna go again?”
