Demon Slayer: A Portal Opens
“Hey little bro it’s ti-” Shadow Chaser started to say as he walked in his brother’s room only to see his brother hanging form a noose while a large monster grinned in delight.
As soon as the monster noticed Shadow Chaser it bared it’s jagged teeth of deep purple, the thing slowly walked to him as it’s navy blue, magma red wrinkled with each movement, it’s bright red eyes shone in the sea of vantablack, each step of this creature made Shadow Chaser more scared of it as it stretched it’s navy blue claws of it’s magma red hands while the bat-like wings were visible with a translucent magma red membrane and navy blue frame.
“Hello there, do you like my masterpiece? I did it all by myself” The monster said in a demonic voice.
“W-what are you? And What the fuck did you do to my brother?” Shadow Chaser asked.
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m a demon and I drove him to kill himself” The demon replied with a grin as it paced to Shadow Chaser who immediately ran to the kitchen and grabbed a large kitchen knife to defend himself with.
Shadow Chaser’s bronze hair was drenched in sweat as he tried to hide with his key lime colored skin shook in fright as his bright azure eyes were searching around frantically.
“Found you” The demon said as it manifested in front of Shadow Chaser, grabbed the lower part of his right arm, dug their claws into it, causing Shadow Chaser to drop the knife and scream in agony.
“W-why are you doing this?” Shadow Chaser cried.
“Because it’s fun, I love torturing people” The demon replied as he howled in laughter with a massive grin on it’s face.
While the demon was distracted Shadow Chaser grabbed the knife with his other hand and stabbed the demon in the arm causing a navy purple substance to flow out as Shadow Chaser yanked the knife out and thrusted the blade into one of the demon’s eye. With this the demon shrieked in pain as it let go of Shadow Chaser’s arm while holding it’s eye and vanished. While Shadow Chaser sat on the floor crying he felt a tingling sensation that turned into a raging burning pain as if someone was stabbing him allover his body with knives that were covered in lava.
Hearing the screams of Shadow Chaser in pain caused his neighbors to call emergency services who showed up at his door, broke it down, however what they found was Shadow Chaser’s brother’s lifeless body hanging from the ceiling as Shadow Chaser passed out in a pool of his own blood, clutching a knife that had some purple substance on it and five gashes in his right arm. Shadow Chaser then woke up in a hospital bed with scars covering his right arm, he handcuffed as he was a suspect in his brother’s death. The police then asked what had happened as he was the only one alive at the scene.
Shadow Chaser proceeded to explain what had happened and after several more questions the police decided that he was not a suspect and that his brother had taken his own life, hey also thought that someone broken in and Shadow Chaser had interpreted as a supposed demon.
Shortly after the funeral of Shadow Chaser’s brother Shadow Chaser moved to Equestria city to live in a one bed, one bath apartment that he was able to afford with the inheritance money he would get from their parents who had died when Shadow Chaser was in fifteen. However he used to live with his brother since his passing it was just Shadow Chaser who had turned sixteen and learned how to drive a few weeks earlier was now on his own with no family in a place he now called home. But since he encountered that demon and found out that is was the one who killed his brother has decided to use his money on equipment for dealing with supernatural entities, mainly demons and other evil spirits.
Shadow Chaser had hired a blacksmith to forge some weapons that he uses against demons and alike. There’s a blessed iron saber that was forged using holy items, white sage, salt, a hilt that has three white quartz in it and a quartz crystal as the pummel with the inscription of the name Jesus engraved in the blade; a cross bow that fires wooden stakes tipped with silver; and all sorts of katanas and machetes. Shadow Chaser has also been trained by monks of different religions and magic techniques, one of which is Holy Fire, an attack that can also heal wounds and Pocket Dimension, an ability that allows him to keep all his items and he also uses it to travel through the world as one minute in there is a second in the main world. Shadow Chaser’s main vehicle of choice is a motorcycle but if needed he can drive a truck.
Shadow Chaser woke up around six AM so he could begin his daily routine of checking the crystals, getting dressed for the day then eating breakfast and finally going to school. Shadow Chaser usually wore a dark gray hoodie with an iron cross, brown t-shirt, blue jeans with red and black shoes. After doing his routine Shadow Chaser decided to take his motorcycle to school and walked out of the building to the nearby parking lot when a group of about four thugs approached him.
“...Can I help you with something?” Shadow Chaser asked.
“Yea, by giving us all your money!” One of the thugs in front of Shadow Chaser demanded.
“And why should I?” Shadow Chaser replied clearly not fazed by the fact that he was out numbered.
“Because if you don’t we’ll cut you up real good” Another one of the thugs said as the four men brandished their knives.
“Okay and?” Shadow Chaser replied as the four thugs got infuriated and rushed at Shadow Chaser who just punched him, causing him to be sent across the street with his scared right arm.
“What the?” A thug shouted.
“Oh oops sorry dude, didn’t mean to punch you that hard” Shadow Chaser apologized.
“Dude I ain’t fucking with no strong man” A thug said as he ran away leaving two thugs with Shadow Chaser.
“Yea me neither, wait up!” Another thug added as he ran after the second thug.
“Well then I suppose this is your turn to scram” Shadow Chaser said as the last thug ran away as well.
Shadow Chaser shrugged as he walked to his motorcycle and drove to Canterlot Highschool.

Chapter 1: Shadow And Canterlot High
Shadow had just arrived at Canterlot High when he felt some kind of magic, it was almost alien he thought as he got off his motorcycle and walked buy the empty statue base that once held a marble horse when he noticed that most of the magic was coming from the base to which he decided to inspect it just to see if it was connected to any sort of hellish being. Little did Shadow realize was that three girls who went by the names of Sunset Shimmer, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash were watching him inspect the statue.
“Should we ask him what he’s doing?” Twilight whispered to her friends.
“I don’t know, but what ever it is it can’t be good” Rainbow Dash replied.
“I’ll go ask him what he’s doing” Sunset volunteered as she walked to Shadow.
“Hmm there’s defiantly some kind of energy coming from this thing, but what is it?” Shadow muttered to himself as Sunset approached him.
“Hey um what are you doing?” Sunset asked, spooking Shadow.
“Oh um I was just wondering why there isn’t a statue on this base?” Shadow replied with a lie.
“O...kay? Well I’ve never seen you around, are you new here?” Sunset asked.
“Yea, just moved here a couple of days ago.” Shadow replied as he turned around.
“Oh cool, I’m Sunset Shimmer...” Sunset said as she was still a little concerned at Shadow checking out the statue base and decided to mask her seeing his memories by shaking his hand.
“I’m Shadow Chaser.” Shadow Replied as he took Sunset Shimmer’s hand with his scared hand and noticed her eyes glow.
In an instant Sunset had seen Shadow’s memories from all the way back to when he saw his brother dead and the demon. Sunset screamed as she instantly let go of Shadow’s hand and backed away as Twilight and Rainbow Dash rushed down to the two.
“Yo what the hell did you do to her?” Rainbow Dash shouted as she demanded to know what had happened.
“I don’t do anything I swear” Shadow said as he tried to defend himself.
“Are you okay Sunset?” Twilight asked as Rainbow Dash was switching between checking to see if her friend was okay and shouting at Shadow.
“Yea...just I think Shadow needs to explain what that thing was and who he is” Sunset replied.
“Okay then, you! Talk now!” Rainbow Dash demanded.
“Whoa calm down” Shadow replied.
“No! You’re going to tell me who the hell you are and what are you doing here!” Rainbow Dash shouted back.
“Dash calm down, he didn’t hurt me, all I did was look at his memories” Sunset replied.
“Wait you did what?” Shadow asked now a bit angry and confused.
“Sunset, please explain?” Twilight asked.
“Well I saw a person dead, a creature of some sort, then a hospital, a guy getting punched, and all the way up until just now before he shook my hand” Sunset explained as Shadow clenched his fist and gritted his teeth.
“That person was my brother...that thing you saw is a demon who drove made my bro kill himself!” Shadow replied in anger as he ran off into the school with tears streaming down his face.
As Shadow was running he bumped into a girl and continued running.
“Hey what’s the big idea?” Applejack hollered as a small portal opened and Shadow ran into it.
“What the?” Applejack thought as she walked to her friends.
“Oh hey Applejack...” Sunset said as she leaned against a corner of the portal and lowered herself down till her head was in her knees as another portal opened up on the roof of Canterlot High where Shadow had walked out and collapsed into his knees crying.
“Is something the matter sugarcube?” Applejack asked.
“No, I just looked into someone’s memories and saw their dead brother” Sunset replied.
“Was it that person who was running away without apologizing?” Applejack asked.
“Yea, he said something about a demon forcing his brother to kill himself...” Sunset replied as she began to tear up.
“Listen, I’m sure if you apologized to him he would forgive you, but there was something else, something appeared in front of him before he ran into it, then he just vanished!” Applejack said.
Meanwhile Shadow was to busy grieving that he didn’t even notice a dark aura start emitting from the roof.
“Hey this might not be the right time but did anyone else notice that the area suddenly felt heavy?” Twilight asked as an invisible creature crept up on Shadow.
“Yea, and wasn’t the sky cloud free a moment ago?” Rainbow Dash added.
Shadow finally looked up and realized all to late when he heard what sounded like a mix between a woman screaming, a jaguar roar as he was thrown off the roof like a rag doll and landed with a thud on the lawn next to the statue base.
“What the?” Applejack said as the group saw a large serpentine-like feline creature with mantis claws crawl down the school’s wall onto the ground bellow.
“And what the fuck is that?” Rainbow Dash screamed as the creature let out another of it’s screech-like roars.
“The four of you need to get out of here now, it’s not safe here!” Shadow shouted as he stood up.
“What is that thing?” Twilight asked.
“It’s a Gremlin-class demon” Shadow replied as he chanted while a small portal opened up, he pulled the engraved saber from one of his pocket dimensions like he was unsheathing it and then pointed the saber at the demon.
“W-what are you planning on doing?” Sunset asked.
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m going to exterminate this demon,” Shadow replied as he then pulled his saber to the side, ran towards the demon, both hands on the saber and leaped in the air.
Shadow brought the saber over his shoulder and with one quick flash of light the saber was sliced down diagonally then Shadow landed on the ground behind the demon as it let out an ear-piercing screech of agony as it withered away. Shadow then stood up and placed the saber back in the pocket dimension like he was sheathing it. After wiping his hands Shadow made his way to the four who stood in shock.
“Well I guess I should explain myself” Shadow said as he looked at the ground while rubbing his scared arm.
“Yea, but first I’m sorry about how I treated your brother and the demon” Sunset replied.
“It’s okay, I should apologize too, I guess I’m still grieving for him” Shadow said.
“So uh I’m sorry as well” Rainbow Dash replied.
“I accept, now let me explain my self” Shadow said as he explained what had happened to his brother all the way up to meeting Sunset.
“So wait a minute, demons are real? How many classifications are there?” Rainbow Dash asked.
“Yea, they come in all shapes and sizes. There are nine classifications; Gremlin, Goblin, Brute, Banshee, Duke, Arch-demon, Prince, King/Queen, and finally Devil,” Shadow explained.
“Just wait a minute, demons have a physical form?” Applejack asked.
“Yea, and an ethereal form” Shadow replied.
“But wait, where did you sword go?” Twilight asked.
“I put it back in the pocket dimension where I keep all my gear for dealing with evil spirits” Shadow replied.
“Pocket dimension? Theoretically I guess it’s possible but it’s never been proven,” Twilight said.
“That’s because most pocket dimensions are made of magic, I use two pocket dimensions one holds all my gear and the other for travel” Shadow explained.
“So that’s what I saw right?” Applejack asked.
“Yea, sorry about that” Shadow replied
“It’s all right sugarcube” Applejack said with a smile.
“So um I’m really sorry about your brother” Sunset said as she looked at the ground.
“You know what? It’s okay Sunset, I know you didn’t mean it like that,” Shadow replied.
“Okay...but may I ask why you were looking at the statue base?” Sunset asked.
“Well I felt an alien like energy coming from it and wanted to see why it was emitting such energy” Shadow explained.
“Well that’s because the energy you’re feeling is magic from another universe” Sunset explained.
“Oh cool” Shadow replied.
“I guess...hey um want to join us for lunch?” Sunset asked.
“Sure, but do you know where cooking class is?” Shadow asked.
“Yea, I’ll show you” Sunset replied.
“Thanks” Shadow said with a small smile.
“No problem, follow me” Sunset replied as the two walked into the school
“Anyone else thinking what I’m thinking?” Twilight asked.
“You mean how they are totally into each other” Rainbow Dash replied.
“Well no but I was just wondering how he got that scar that’s covering his arm” Twilight said.
“Well Shadow does fight demons so who knows how many times he’s been hurt” Applejack added.
“Yea, but I’m going with the in love part” Rainbow Dash replied.
“Whatever, lets just get going to class” Twilight said as the three walked to their classes.
Meanwhile at a park in Equestria city that was filled with people when a spark appeared in front of two redwoods but faded.
