A Fourtunate String of Events
”When I see the worsening degeneracy in our politicians, our media, our educators, our intelligentsia, I can’t help wondering if the day may yet come when the only thing that can save this country is a military coup,”
— Thomas Sowell, Don’t Get Weak, National Review, May 1, 2007
With a ever incompetent government plagued by an even more incompetent nobility’s corruption, and corner cutting. The military is fed up with such ponies being in power and are in charge of guiding Equestria. Within the last few years, their funding has dropped massively.
The mutterings of resentment for the nobility among the military has grown steadily throughout the years, and proposals of a coup, revolt, or anything to get funding up has been thrown around by the common soldier, sailor, or Wonderbolt, all the way up to the highest generals and marshals.
An army general, Atalic Medals, ponders over the last few details of the coup before it’s due day tomorrow in a Canterlotian night bar. The plan had been meticulously laid out over the course of two years, everything and every pony was in place. Each city had two divisions, both military and paramilitary, of disgruntled soldiers or former soldiers. Fighting was to be minimal to ensure a smooth transition of power to the military junta.
But Atalic could not shake the feeling of another variable entering the whole equation.
“There is no greater blessing than a family hand that lifts you from a fall; but there is not lower curse than a family hand that strikes you when you're down.
- Wes Fessler
With the Wedding prepared to commence the next day, all was joyous among the royal family and their friends. Family and friends were such ponies in one’s life that would be there to support one, to teach one, and to comfort one. But when a family casts out a member, the scars left will be deeper then the chasms of the sea.
Twilight Sparkle is drowning her sorrows in alcohol as her attempt to convince her friends and family of the impending invasion has gone awry. They casted her out and called her a mad mare. The love and trust that was there was now gone, and now she only has alcohol to comfort her.
"A great revolution is never the fault of the people, but of the government."
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Krvava was a changeling, a lieutenant in the United Changeling Front, under the command of Queen Chrysilas. But while most would have undying support of the Queen, she did not. Her hive was shallowed in Queen Chrysilas chase to unite the hives, and her Queen was slayed when she refused to support Chrysilas in her endavoeur.
Many other hives’ queens shared this same fate. Krvava and several other lieutenants have agreed on one thing, Chrysilas was to be removed. And her failure in the thing she promised all the changelings, a victory in Canterlot, would shatter all faith in her.
Now, she sits in a Canterlot bar, a position that Chrysilas assigned she and her fellow lieutenants in to keep an eye on any pony that may have caught onto their plans... little does Chrysilas know, that Krvava is hoping for that.
