Hey guys happy Halloween! Here is a chapter that doesn’t really follow the main story so this isn’t technically the next chapter. So you can skip it if you want. Anyway have a Happy Halloween and a better 2020 and enjoy this special!

Nightmare Night Story

(Orion POV)

So it is Nightmare Night, their version of Halloween. Everyone had already gotten their costumes while I had been arguing with Rarity about the look of my costume. She kept insisting that I add a bit of shine to my costume while I argued that certain things just work. Thankfully I got her to surrender in the end. And now I was walking through Ponyville as the Courier from Fallout New Vegas in the Ranger Armor and I even managed to make the helmet myself. I got stares as usual but they were at my costume and that is fine, I liked showing off my world and now I could by wearing it. I was looking around until I saw Twilight with a wizard costume of sorts including a beard. She noticed me and ram up to me.

“Hey Orion, can you guess who I am?” She asked.

“Are you Starswirl the Bearded?” I asked as I remembered reading the history of magic here.

“Wow even you knew.” She said before she saw my costume. “So what are you?”

“I’m the angriest mailman in the entire freaking universe. Courier Six.” I say.

“How can a mailman be so angry?” She asked.

“Somebody shot him in the head and he wanted revenge.” I say casually.

“Wow that’s.....actually understandable.” Twilight said which shocked me. Normally she was against this kind of thing. “I mean I would be angry too if somepony decided to use a weapon to try to kill me.”

“That’s...actually surprising coming from you Twilight, you are the Princess of Friendship after all. I thought you’d be against something like revenge.” I say.

“I said that it was understandable, I am against revenge, but who wouldn’t be angry if they were attacked like that?” She pointed out.

“Well glad we are on the same page.” I say as we trotted over to Sugarcube Corner to see the others. Applejack was in a cowgirl outfit, Fluttershy was a vampire pony, Pinkie was a mummy, Rainbow was in a Wonderbolts costume. “Hey girls.”

“Hey Orion.” They all day happily.

“Nice costume.” Pinkie said.

“Thanks, but I only made the helmet, Rarity made the actual costume.” This surprised everyone.

“Hold on you got Rarity to make that?” Rainbow asked in surprise.

“Oh believe me, it took a lot of convincing.” I say. “She really tested my patience, but I kept my cool.” Then I looked out the corner of my eye and saw Celestia and Luna walking toward us.

“Oh hey Princesses.” I say to them.

“Orion, it is nice to see you again.” Celestia says. “I hope you are enjoying your first Nightmare Night. I know our holidays may seem strange.”

“Actually this is similar to what I have in my world.” I say to them.

“Really?” Luna asks.

“Pretty much, but we call our holiday Halloween.”

“Interesting name.” Luna says. “Well pretty soon there will be a campfire done where we can tell scary stories. Would you like to join?”

“Sure. But I’ll try to keep my stories not as scary so as to not scare them too much.” I say.

“Hah! I doubt your stories are as scary as the ones we are going to tell.” Rainbow said cockily.

(Later)

They honestly weren’t scary. They were ones I expected from a place like this. Right now Rainbow was telling a story of a mare who was lost in the woods. “And then she was never heard from again.” Rainbow finished leaving everyone except me, Twilight, Pinkie, AJ, and the Princesses shaking. I was bored. “Alright Orion your go. Try to scare us.” Rainbow said which made me smile.

“Alright I have a few in mind. You all can choose which scary story I should tell you. Freddy Krueger, Jason Vorhees, Micheal Myers, the Weeping Angels, I can go on.” I tell them.

“How about the first one.” Rainbow asked to which the others nodded.

“Alright here is the story of Freddy Krueger, the Nightmare.” I say dramatically catching Celestia’s and Luna’s attention. “It all starts on a street called Elm Street. A man named Freddy Krueger lived on that street. This man was evil, possibly one of the most evil beings I have ever seen in my life.” Everyone started looking around at each other for a moment with concern on their faces. “He was a man who wore a fedora, a red and green sweater, and a glove with blades on it and took pride in killing the children of Elm Street.” This made everyone gasp in horror, even the Princesses.

“How could a monster kill such young foals!?” Celestia said in shock.

“He was locked up right?” Fluttershy asked hopefully. I didn’t want to make her upset but I had to keep going.

“No.” I say shocking everyone once again. “He was arrested, but because he didn’t leave any evidence behind, they let him walk free. So the parents of those children decided to take justice in their own hands or hooves.”

“What did they do?” Rarity asked.

“They burned his house to the ground with him still inside.” I say. “They burned him alive.” I pause for a moment for them to breath a sigh in relief. “But he survived.” Everyone was shocked again.

“How!?” Luna asked with a bit of fear in her voice.

“By invading their dreams.” I say leaving them speechless as I continue on. “Freddy found a way to kill his victims in their dreams. And if he kills you in your dream, you die in real life in the exact way he killed you. Your dreams will start off with you being in an empty place, but you won’t even know you’re dreaming until you hear 3 little girls singing a song.” I say before singing the song.

1, 2, Freddy’s coming for you
3, 4, Better lock your door
5, 6, Grab your crucifix
7, 8, Better stay up late
9, 10, Never sleep again.

Everyone was shivering except Twilight, Luna, and Celestia, but fear was evident in their faces, Fluttershy was cowering behind Applejack who tried to look tough but she was shaking immensely, Pinkie was cowering on the ground with flat hair, Rarity was shaking, but I have a feeling she was more afraid of his attire than him, and Rainbow had a brave face on. “And Freddy’s dream powers work like Luna’s. When he’s in your dream, he has full control. You can try to fight back, say you’re not afraid, but he won’t care. Because his power of fear works differently than you’d think. His power comes from society’s fear of him. So it won’t matter if you’re afraid of him or not when he has the fear of multiple people giving him power.”

“Ah think that’s enough story time for one night...” Applejack said with the others nodding vigorously with the exception of Rainbow Dash.

“Please, we aren’t afraid of him, if he comes in my dream I’m gonna beat him down!” Rainbow said making me shake my head with a smile on my face.

“Hey Orion, remind me not to visit your world...” Twilight said with everyone nodding. But Fluttershy was still shaking.

“Welp I’m off to bed. See you in the morning.” Rainbow Dash said flying off into the sky.

“By the way you don’t have to worry about anything, Freddy isn’t real. He’s just a character my people made.” I tell them making them sigh in relief.

“Fluttershy are you alright?” Twilight asked the cowering yellow Pegasus.

“I-I’m fine...” She said but nopony believed it.

“Don’t worry sugarcube, the story scared me good. Ah’m just surprised that Orion and his people can make such horrible monsters. Ah just imagine Nightmare Moon.” Applejack said.

“I am going to be honest, I don’t think Nightmare Moon, Chrysalis, Sombra, or even Tirek could even hold a candle to this Freddy Krueger.” Luna said. “Even they wouldn’t commit such vile acts against society.”

“Well like I said, he’s not real.” I tell them before I smirk at Luna. “Hey Luna, remember that favor you owe me?”

“What favor?” Celestia asked while Luna took a deep breath.

“You remember how I invaded Orion’s dream when he first arrived and I acted out of line? Well Orion said he would forgive me if I owed him a favor of any kind.”

“Yep, and I would like to cash in that favor.” I tell them with a wicked grin.

“Orion...what are you planning?” Twilight asked with concern.

“Well I mean, it can’t be called Nightmare Night unless someone has a nightmare. I’d say Dash has earned that for tonight.” I laugh evilly. “For all the pranks she pulled on me, this is payback.”

“But you said Freddy wasn’t real.” Applejack said.

“Yeah, but Dash wasn’t around to hear that. She left before I said it.” I point out.

(Rainbow Dash POV)

Please, if my friends and I can beat Discord, Tirek, Sombra, Chrysalis, and all the other evils in this world, we can handle a dream monster. After all we did defeat the Tantibus! I arrived home and went straight to bed and just drifted off to sleep.

(3rd POV)

Rainbow Dash woke up wide eyed. “Ugh I can’t sleep.” She gets out of bed and heads to get some water, but the moment she flies through the door she sees she isn’t in her home anymore, but a building of sorts with a red light. “What the?”

She heard the sound of something hitting the ground repeatedly. She turned a corner and saw three human girls with a jump rope. Then they started singing.

“1, 2, Freddy’s coming for you.”

Rainbow started to back up in fear as she saw them.

“3, 4, better lock your door.”

Rainbow started to bolt away away from the girls. She tried to fly but found her wings were gone. “WHAT THE!?”

“5, 6, grab your crucifix.”

She kept running through the halls as she tried to find her way out but was only getting exhausted.

“7, 8, better stay up late.”

She suddenly stopped as she came across a furnace and saw a human figure ahead of her. A silhouette with a hat on and it was coming closer until it stepped into the light. His face was burned and he had sharp teeth. A striped sweater on him and a glove on his hand as he looked at Rainbow with a wicked grin.

“9, 10, never sleep again.”

The song finished and Freddy started to chase Rainbow Dash with a vicious laugh as she screamed in terror and ran away from the killer. Turning a corner she found a locker and went inside it. She closed it and saw Freddy going right past her. “This is my dream. I should be able to make it better.” She panted before the locker suddenly opened and she saw Freddy grab her by the mane.

“Not in my world Bitch!” He said laughing as Rainbow Dash screamed in terror. Then she heard Luna’s voice above her.

“I can’t do this anymore!” The dream suddenly disappeared and Rainbow was back in her house as Freddy was revealed to be Orion who was laughing like there was no tomorrow, on the ground with tears coming out of his eyes.

“I DON’T CARE! IT WAS TOO GOOD!” The charcoal Alicorn yelled before going back to laughing.

“ORION!!” Rainbow yelled furiously. “WHY DID YOU SCARE ME LIKE THAT!?”

After a few second Orion finally stopped laughing. “Pay...back for all the pranks you pulled on me.”

“So Freddy wasn’t real?” Rainbow asked.

“Never was.”

“Princess Luna you were in on it?”

“I owed Orion a favor. I did not want to do it, but I had to.” Luna said solemnly. “I am sorry.”

“Don’t be mad Rainbow. Look nobody is hurt and you and I are even in terms of pranks.” Orion said. “We good?”

“Yeah we’re good.” Rainbow said laughing a bit. Then she stopped and got a serious look. “But do it again and you will regret it.”

Orion gulped in fear and nodded. “Ok.”
