The Fire Phoenix

Twilight was sitting and reading a book on the balcony of the Golden Oak Tree. Suddenly, she heard an explosion and saw a fireball from nowhere rushing towards her. She screamed and created herself a shield. A living pony sized ball of fire landed in front of her, the flames then snuffed out to reveal Firesky.

Twilight removed the shield and looked at Firesky, who asked in confused. "Twinkle Sparkler?".

"I'm not her but who are-"

"No!" Twilight was cut off by Firesky, who flew off, leaving a trail of fire behind.

Twilight looked at the flying Pegasus in confused and said. "That was weird."

Rainbow Dash was lying on the cloud, ennoying her break time. She opened her eyes and took a deep breath then said. "There's nothing better than lying on a cloud and enjoying a break." She took another deep breath again and continued. "One word: awesome."

Rainbow saw Firesky flew above her with the speed that could comparable to her . Rainbow Dash smiled and said. "And that Pegasus is awesome just like me." She realized what she had seen. She stood up and said. "Woah!! Who's that Pegasus!! I've never seen her before!" Rainbow paused to think. "Maybe I should ask her for a race!"

Rainbow flew to find that Pegasus. After a while, she found Firesky was sitting on a cloud. She flew and sat next to her. "Hi, I'm Rainbow Dash. What's yours?"

Firesky exclaimed in surprise and immediately flew off. Rainbow quickly flew after her. "Hey, wait up!!"

'So fast! Why can't I catch up?! I'm the fastest flyer in all of Equestria!!' Rainbow thought to herself while trying to catch up with Firesky. 'I can't believe that she's as fast as me or maybe she's even faster!!'

The distance between Firesky and Rainbow Dash was growing. Firesky began to flew faster and entered the sound barrier. She didn't notice it was sparking with dark red energy at the tip.

"Beacause of you, we can't use our magic for TWO weeks!!!" "Get outta here, Firetrash!!" "We don't want to see your face again!!!" Firesky heard the voices of her friends inside her head.

"Firetrash! Firetrash! Firetrash was abandoned in the orphanage! Why? 'Cause they hate you!"

"Maybe we should start calling you Firetrash or Abandoned Trash!!"

"No wonder why your parents left you in the orphanage!"

"What? Are you gonna cry now? If you are, nopony gonna care!"

"Your parents they HATE you!"

"SHUT UP!!" Firesky shouted as she broke the sound barrier, creating a Sonic Flameboom. This made Rainbow surprised, the force of the explosion caused her to lose her balance flipped a few rounds in the air.

"Woah! Is that a ... Sonic Rainboom?" Rainbow asked herself and looked around to find Firesky's trail. Her eyes widened as she saw what was going on. The Pegasus she was chasing now was nowhere. It didn't matter because the whole Ponyville was enveloped in a tornado appearing out of nowhere. Strangely, it did not destroy Ponyville.

Rainbow did not care about that strange thing. What she cared about was the damage it was causing to Ponyville. From the roads to the houses were all burning. Everypony was screaming in fear. Some were splashing water to put out the flames including her subordinates. She also realized that the air was suddenly heating up.

Rainbow quickly flew to her comrades. One of them saw her and said. "Captain, I'm glad you're here! We hav-"

She was interupted by the screams from above. They looked up to see their comrades were falling and their wings were burning. Without hesitation, Rainbow flew up to catch them, the others also followed. They quickly caught them and laid them to the ground gently.

They cried out in pain as they tried to stand up but fell down. Rainbow now took a closer look, their four hooves were burned badly. Some of them had burns on their flanks, chest and neck. Their manes were also burnt black.

"You, go and get some ambulances! They were badly burned so hurry up!" Rainbow said to her subordinate standing beside her, who immediately flew to the hospital.

"Now tell me, what had happened when I wasn't here?!" Rainbow asked angrily. She was angry because they were acting on their own accord without her permission.

"We're sorry, Captain. Some Pegasi voluntarily to stop the tornado while we're stopping the flames."

Rainbow cursed under her breath and said. "Okay, you all stay here to stop the flames, I'll fly up to stop the tornado."

"Captain, you can't!" One of the injured tried to get up. "This is not a normal tornado! The higher you go, the hotter it will be. Also, there's something waiting to attack anypony who flies up."

"He's right, Rainbow Dash!" Rainbow turned and saw her five friends. Twilight continued. "This isn't just a normal tornado! You shouldn't fly up there alone!"

"Come on guys, I'm the fastest flyer in all of Equestria! This tornado is just a small deal to me!" Rainbow said to them proudly.

"Maybe, but you should stay here and wait for help from Canterlot! I've already sent a letter to Princess Celestia."

"She's right, Sugarcube! Ya should be here and wait!" Applejack said.

"Don't worry, girls. I'll be back in no time!" Rainbow Dash flew up with her fastest speed. She reached the sound barrier and broke it. Although she was in Sonic Rainboom state but she still had trouble trying to fly out of the tornado. She was blown by the strong winds, causing her to lose balance but she tried to keep herself in the air. The higher she got, the hotter she felt. The winds blowing at her like being touched by flames.

Suddenly, something rushed towards her. Rainbow quickly avoided it but her left hoof was slightly burned. She cried out in pain as she used her right hoof to extinguish the flame that burning her left hoof. She turned to see what had attacked her. Her eyes windened when she saw it, the Pegasus that she tried to chase after was in front of her. Its mane, tail and half of its back wings were covering flames. But it seemed like those flames were not affected it.

"You! You're the one who attacked my comrades and created this tornado, right?! I'll make you pay for what you did!!" Rainbow asked angrily. Without letting Firesky had a chance to oppen her mouth, Rainbow immediately dashed towards her. Firesky avoided it by flying up and kicking Rainbow's left wing with her hind hooves. Rainbow exclaimed in pain as she was falling. She tried to keep her balance in the air but failed, her left wing was screaming in pain. Firesky rushed down to Rainbow, using two hooves to hold her shoulders. Rainbow tried to shruggle but the flames appeared on her back made her give up. The fire winds around her made the burns even worse.

Rainbow's vision faded away. She felt that Firesky had released her so she could fall freely. She also sensed that she was falling through a cloud of water that extinguished the flames burning her back.

'Guess this is how it ends for me, huh? ... No! I haven't become a Wonderbolt yet! Not yet! I can't just end up like this! ... But what can I do now? ... My wing and back are hurt ... My friends ... I'm ... sorry ...' Rainbow's vision had completely turned black.

Everypony was horrified when they saw Rainbow landing into the town square. Her friends rushed to the unconscious Pegasus and quickly checked if she was still alive.

"Hurry, put'er on mah back!" Applejack said impatiently. Twilight used her magic to put Rainbow on Applejack's back, who immediately rushed to the hospital. Her friends followed after without knowing Firesky was watching them from the sky.

"They can save her but they cannot save their home!" Firesky said to herself and laughed madly.

"This whole town will be burnt to ashes."
