Fallout Equestria: The Standing Stones

Chapter 3

"I don't know about this, but I'm doing it."

As we walk out the entrance of the cave. I felt the rays of the sun hit my skin for the first time. It felt very exhilarating to that I was out of that cave. But, I smelt that pungent air. "What the hay is that awful smell?" I said with my mouth gaging at it and covering my snout.

"That my blind friend would be the decaying bodies. That lie right next to the entrance. It looks like somepony was planning to burn them." He said with great sadden tone. "I wondered how the old world was before it was set a blaze. This is why I am looking around equestria for more information." He said avoiding the sadden onslaught of ponies.

"You think that we should finish the job. Or give them a proper burial." I said with interest of the matter.

"Well, since we're on top of a mountain. They had it already up here, lets finish their job." He said with a purpose to get done.

Lucky for us we had a decaying tree lying next to the corpses. With my magic, I started to rip the tree bit by bit.

"How is your magic so good Mystic?" He said with a questioning stare. "I might ask since your blind and all."

"Well, since I am blind. No one wanted me to do anything in the stable. Thinking that I was too much of a reliability to everyone. So, while I was stuck in my stable room. My mom would teach everything that I know now, including magic. I have always wondered if I ever needed them since no one wanted me. But, here we are now." I said with a laughter that also got to my newly friend and partner. "So, I got the wood. How are you going to start the fire anyway?" I questioned with concern of the fire.

"That my friend is the easy part. I just get two rocks and clack them together till they give out a good spark." saying happily for giving knowledge to another pony.

"Oh if it that easy then give me the rocks." He gave me the rocks at ease. "While we are talking about the past. What brought you to look for the equestrian history anyway."

"Are you sure you want to know about it, it is tragic." He said while lowering his head.

"Yes, I am sure. Since I told you about my past. Now it is your turn." I said with enthusiasm, while trying to clack the rocks together to start the fire.

"I used to be in a town in the clouds."

"Clouds?"

"Oh yeah, that right you can't see." He said with frustration.

"Do you know the feeling of fluffiness?" he said with interest. "Think of that but, in the sky."

"Wow!" I said with more intrigue with his story.

"Anyway back to the story. We hid ourselves from the world, because of what happen to the old one. I used to be part evaluation team that would fly in to investigate, if the world was safe to come back."

"Flying? Do we have devices to fly or have unicorns learn a new levitation spell while we all been cooped up in the stables." I said with more excitement than ever before.

"No, in fact we can fly naturally. You would know if you could see me, but I have wings. I know in the stable that their are just unicorns and earth ponies. We are called Pegasus and we hid in the clouds while the world died."

"That is amazing that I get to meet you." I said with utter bewilderment of the situation.

"Yeah I know it is. Back to my story anyway. This was my first trip since I finally had the experiences at the class we had of analysis. So, we went out of the clouds to see what has happen since then. They told me my whole life that there was no life to be found. But as we left the atmosphere, gun shots could be heard from a distance. I always did wondered why they brought guns with them when there was no life on the surface. As the gun shots got closer, the group leader told us to go back up."

"This is a interesting story you have so far." I said with me stopping the clacking of the rocks. With the pause I started up again on the rocks to tell him to continue.

"The three of us left, were trying to fly back. But one of us got shot down by a sniper. While the others left. I decided to go back to save our fallen comrade. By the time I got there to help. His eyes looked at me and he raised his hoof to me to grab. He grabbed the collar of my power suit and said to me."

"Scroll why did you come back you know what it means to disobey an order?."

"I am not leaving you behind sir, I am not a coward like them."

"I am done for Scroll go back before it is too late. Ugh!"

"But as he passes on, the perpetrators that killed him came to me with their guns. They had them pointed at me for ill intent on killing me. I asked them."

"Why are you doing this to us, we meant you no harm. I did not know that you were down here."

"Every time your kind come down here, more of us dies. We don't want you coming down here anymore."

"As they were distracted by talking to me, I managed to grab the gun my comrade had."

"Look my back up arrived behind you, I told them to look back."

"I ended up shooting all three of them in the back of the heads for killing my friend. The red mist that came after scared me to hell. Their brains were on the ground scrambled. As I looked at their dead bodies noticing they were dirty and had horrid scars and looks. I dropped the gun afraid of what I had done. It was what I had to do because they were not to be reasoned with and would of shot me anyway. I buried all of them in honor of their lives that were taken. I decided that day to search to what happen to this land and help as much as I can. I would never go back to the city I came from for they are cowards and liars to what happen here. So, I flew off to find a place to rest a bit and ended up finding you up here with a stable door." He said all this with ever coming tears in his eyes.

As he finished his tale, I managed to start the fire. "That is a tragic tale you told me my friend. I hope that I can help you on that journey of yours. But lets get going I am tired of being in front of this cave. By chance did you see my friend in that pile." As the flames started to set and rise to bring black smoke.

"I saw no pony of your description in that pile. But, I do see set of prints heading down the slope of the mountain. It also looks like it heading midday with the suns direction right now."

"What are we waiting for then lets go and follow those prints. She is probably half a day ahead of us by now. We have no time to waste then." Tapping my staff to find the footing to go down the path. I think my friend questions how I charge up to everything so fast, for being someone like me. I just am determined to show everypony that I am not as weak as they think that I am.

"Well I will lead the way. I will just fly over you to keep you from not falling or keeping up." He said with great concerned for my health.

"I will greatly appreciate that if you don't mind at all. Lead me the way to where my friend direction please." I said with sarcasm and frustration. I just hate that no one could believe in me but, I did need him to help. I just need to learn to let ponies help me or ill lose everything.

But, as we head on we left the fire a blaze for anyone to see. I hope that we don't get the attention of something out here that would cause us any harm or worst.
