Rex and Cody marched Slick through the base, his hands tied firmly behind his back with the handcuffs clutching his wrists tightly. The sergeant marched past the brothers he had betrayed, the ones he had almost gotten killed. Among them were the two alicorn captains. Cadence looked away, tears pooling in her eyes. Luna, however, was livid. With a hoof, she stopped the procession.

“Sergeant Slick, explain your actions.” The Captain growled as she marched in front of the traitor. Slick glared.

“I did it for freedom, Lun-”

“You will refer to me as Captain, traitor!”

“Captain. I did it to free my brothers. The Jedi kept us enslaved, but what I did struck a blow for all clones!” Silence fell. The clones watched as Luna stared blankly at the disgraced clone.

Freedom? That’s what this was about? Freedom from what? The duty they were created to perform? The Republic that paid for his existence, that asked for their service? The Jedi that led them, fought alongside them, and died to protect them?

How many clones would never get the chance to experience this freedom because of Slick? What about Killer? Lucifer? Tan? Bacter? Charlie? Droid? Astro? Mal? Deegan? Red? What about the dozen troopers injured during the bombing?

Slick felt his windpipe slowly being closed, a blue aura surrounded his throat. It was getting hard to breath. His feet left the ground. Now he was struggling to get air, his hands reaching out toward an invisible assailant in a vain attempt to stop them. Luna stared blankly as she choked the trooper to death.

“You wanted freedom, Slick? Then here is your taste.”

The other clones could only watch as their captain was slowly killing the traitor. Cadence ran forward and wrapped her hooves around her sister.

“Luna, please. Don’t.” Luna’s eyes widened before her magic dissipated and Slick was dropped to the floor. Rex and Cody helped him up as he coughed, his lungs screaming for oxygen.

“Take him away, the Generals have just returned.” The two clones nodded before marching Slick away. All eyes were on them until they disappeared around a corner. The eyes never left that corner, until Luna spoke up.

“Well, what are we waiting for? Get back to work, we’ve still got a battle to win.”
