Starlight Glimmer thinks she has developed the perfect spell for time travel. With it, she hopes to travel time to gain knowledge, and she believes she has it figured out so that there is no way to change anything outside of one's own present. But things turn dark when the spell backfires and lands her and Spike in a strange Equestria shrouded in evil. Rage filled Ponies including Twilight and Trixie soon capture them, blaming Starlight for the state of Equestria and claiming Spike may not be what he appears. What happened when Starlights spell backfired? When and Where are they? And what happened to the Equestria they know and love? Can they fix things and get back home? Or will they be swallowed up by this dark Equestria? Maybe never to be seen again...
