Who the hell could that be?” A female shadow thought as she saw a little boy with jet black hair, flame orange eyes, and honey colored skin enter the cave. The boy was wearing a blue short-sleeve jacket with a white tank-top, brown cargo shorts and caramel colored boots. “Momma Dadda, I’m scared” The boy cried as he looked around a bit. The shadow smirked upon getting a thought before transforming into a ten year old girl with waist length dust gray hair, magenta eyes, and very fair skin with a black raven feather behind her left ear. “Hmm maybe I can do something about that?” The shadow asked after she walked to the boy. “H-huh? Who *sniff* are you?” The boy asked. “I’m Midnight what’s your name?” She asked. “I-it’s S-Sammy Sparks” He replied. “Well then Sammy, I’ve come to lead you back to your parents” Midnight replied with a big smile. “R-really? You know where Momma and Dadda are?” Sammy asked, now with a smile as as his tears slowly stopped falling. “Y-yea, in fact I’ll take you to them. But on one condition” Midnight replied as she tilted her head with a soft smile pasted on her face. “U-um okay?” Sammy said now confused. “I want you to say my name” Midnight requested. “Okay? Um Midnight...” Sammy did as she asked. “Great! Now then follow me and I’ll take you back to your folks” Midnight replied with a smile before grabbing Sammy’s hand. “U-um thanks Midnight, but why did you want me to say your name?” Sammy asked as Midnight led him out of the cave to his parents. “I don’t know, I just never heard anyone say it before.” Midnight replied while thinking. “Yea right I just needed you to say it so that a pact could be made” “Oh okay, well I think it’s a pretty name” Sammy said with a smile. “Um thanks...” Midnight replied as the two started hearing Sammy’s parents call his name. “Momma, Dadda!” Sammy called. “Sammy? Where are you?” His parents asked. “Over here! But thank you Midnight?...” Sammy replied as he turned around to see that Midnight was gone and fore a brief moment he was sad until his parents found him. “Sammy there you are! We were worried sick, where were you?” Mr Sparks asked. “Oh I saw a Jackalope kit and followed it. Then I realized I didn’t know where you two where so I began to cry then I went in this cave and met a girl who led me back to you but when I turned around she was gone” Sammy replied enthusiastically. “Okay? Well we’re just glad you’re safe” Mrs Sparks said as she hugged her son. Later that night Sammy was fast asleep in his bed when Midnight manifested outside his window and watched him sleep. “Now that our pact is complete I should give you a memento of sorts...” Midnight muttered before raising her right arm at Sammy’s sleeping body. A dull black light started shining from Midnight’s hand as a similar light started shinning from Sammy’s left shoulder before leaving a jet black raven mark. Satisfied with her work Midnight transformed into a medium sized raven before flying away. ==================================================================================================== “Sammy, Sammy wake up! I said wake up!” An elf girl with rose gold hair, green eyes and fair skin shouted before hitting her brother in the ribs. “Ow! What was that for Brenda?” Sammy screamed in pain. “Hmpf! You wouldn’t wake up!” Brenda replied before heading for Sammy’s door. “Still, did you have to hit me?” Sammy asked as he sat up in bed. “Yes, now hurry up and get dressed, mom’s almost done making waffles...” Brenda trailed off with a sad look in her eyes. “Oh and big bro?” “What is it?” Sammy asked. “I’m going to miss you Sammy” Brenda replied. “Brenda, I’m not dying, I’m just going to be starting college today. Besides I’ll be coming to visit during breaks and your birthday” Sammy explained. “Yea I know...just hurry up and get dressed” Brenda replied before leaving Sammy’s room and shutting the door. Sammy chuckled as he shook his head before getting up and heading to his dresser. A few minutes later Sammy emerged wearing a solid sand green flannel with a light stone gray t-shirt, with light coal pants and black shoes before heading down to the dinning room where his Dad and sister was. “Good morning Sam” Mr Sparks said as he took a sip from his soda. “Morning dad, rib breaker” Sammy replied as he sat down. “Hmpf I only did that because you wouldn’t wake up” Brenda retorted. “Yea, Yea I know pajama pants head” Sammy said. “You’re just jealous that I don’t have to start school for another week” Brenda replied as her and Sammy’s mother walked in carrying a pan of chocolate chip and blueberry flavored waffles. “Morning Sammy, are you ready for you pact for Star-pillar University?” Mrs Sparks asked as she set down the waffles before sitting down. “Yea, I finished packing last night so I’m pretty much all set” Sammy replied as he grabbed two chocolate and two blueberry pancakes. “What about the condoms?” Mrs Sparks deadpanned asked causing Sammy to choke on a bite of a syrup covered waffle. Once the waffle had gone down Sammy replied “Moooom!” “What? I just want to make sure my handsome son has protection” Mrs Sparks teased before taking a bite of a waffle. “Mom, *sigh* I love you but no, just no” Sammy replied as he slumped in his chair. “Yea, I want to be an aunt!” Brenda added. “You get no say in this missy!” Sammy said before Brenda responded with blowing him a raspberry and stuffing her face with a waffle. “Alright settle down you two” Mr Sparks commanded. “Dear it’s an exciting day for everyone, besides this will probably the last interaction between the two before Sammy has to go” Mrs Sparks interjected. “I know I know”- Mr Sparks replied -“I just can’t believe our little Sammy is going to the best magic university in the world” “Yea and what’s better was that they even gave him a free scholarship after word spread out about what he had done to those nasty bullies” Mrs Sparks added as Sammy’s face went grim. “B-but if you hadn’t been there then I probably would of became deaf or at least hard of hearing” Brenda said after noticing her brother’s grim look. ==================================================================================================== Six years ago… “Look at this damn elf!” A bully said with an evil grin as three bullies approached a quivering Brenda. “P-please, don’t h-hurt me” Brenda begged while tears were flowing down her cheeks, “I know right, her ears alone make me sick” Another bully replied. “How about we remove those ears?” The third bully suggested with a smirk as Brenda’s eyes went wide with absolute terror in them. “Good idea, you two hold her down!” The first bully replied as the other two pinned Brenda to the ground while he pulled a pocket knife and slowly approached the pinned elf until he felt a rock bounce off his back. “Who’s the bitch who threw that?” “Bitch? You shouldn’t speak of yourself like that, but then again...” Sammy replied as he approached the four with the look of anger in his eyes. “S-Sammy?” Brenda asked as she looked up to see her brother smiling at her before returning his cold gaze to the three. “Unless you’re here to help us then get lost!” The first bully commanded. “Better idea, you leave my sis alone and there won’t be three trips to the hospital” Sammy retorted as he cracked his knuckles. “Tch get him! We’ll make him watch as we saw off this elf’s ears!” The first bully shouted before the two holding Brenda let her go and rushed towards Sammy. “Sammy! Sammy!” Brenda called, snapping her brother back to reality. ==================================================================================================== “H-huh what?” Sammy asked as he looked around. “Sam listen I know you didn’t mean to nearly kill those three bullies but it’s no use feeling guilty over it, and besides you protected your sister” Mr Sparks replied. “Y-yea and you unlocked some pretty awesome magic!” Brenda added as she made some sort of motion with her hands to try and emulate what had happened that day when the four stopped at the sound of the doorbell ringing. “Oh that must be your escort” Mrs Sparks said as she happily clapped her hands. “Yea, well I guess I should get going” Sammy replied as he stood up before hugging his family and heading to the front door. Once he opened the door Sammy was greeted by an earth pony stallion with a blue mane, tail and white fur. ==================================================================================================== “So Snow Guard was it? What’s Star-pillar University like?” Sammy asked as the two rode to a nearby airport in a limousine. “Oh well it’s really great, instead of an Entrance Exam there’s an Entrance Festival that’s held by upperclassmen to welcome the new students, there’s also a stadium where 1v1 tournaments are held, along with all sorts of other stuff” Snow Guard explained as he leaned back in his seat before taking a sip of Diet Coke. “So wait there’s a festival instead of an exam?” Sunny asked with a look of bewilderment on his face. “Yep, but I’m not gonna spoil what goes on during the festival I will however tell you what there is to do in Capital City, but that’s only when we land in the next airport” Snow Guard replied before snickering at Sammy’s pouting face. "Cheer up kid, we're almost at the airport" Sammy's Roommate“W-what are you?” A man asked as he watched a ten year old looking girl stuff her right arm into the stump of a decapitated man before making it’s way to his heart and yanking it out, squirting blood everywhere. “Tell me, ever heard of the most feared spirit, The Raven Mocker?” The girl asked before proceeding to eat the heart like it was fruit and licking the blood off of her fingers. The girl then squealed in ecstasy as a black light started emitting in her chest before engulfing her and quickly fading. “Oh seventy-three years huh? Nice, now then I wonder how many years you have left?” “No, no, no-agggh!” The man screamed in pain as The girl shot a razor sharp feather form her jet black raven wings that sliced off his left arm. “What a cute squeal, please do more” The girl requested as she lightly sliced the man’s skin, causing him to scream in pain before she shot off his head with a black flame and consuming his still beating heart. ================================================================================================== “Whoa I didn’t expect Capital to be so huge” Sammy said as him and his escort stepped outside of the airport. “Oh my Celestiayou seriously thought Capital City would be smaller?” Snow Guard replied before bursting out in a fit of laughter, causing everyone to stare at the two. “I-it just looks smaller in pictures...” Sammy said as he pouted and crossed his arms. “Yea a lot of people react the same way, but anyway we shouldn’t get keep the limo driver waiting” Snow Guard replied before the two headed towards the limousine that’s parked on a nearby curve of Capital Airport. “So you said you’re gonna tell me what there is to do in Capital. So fess up” Sammy commanded as the two got into the limo. “Alright, well there’s a massive mall that’s comprised of shops that sell items from all over the continents, along with there being an indoor water park dissipate the city being next to an ocean, as well as several story movie theaters, an arcade that has laser tag, and all sorts of other stuff” Snow Guard explained as he grabbed a magazine. “So are there dorms or are there apartments?” Sammy asked. “Well there are dormitories but they’re like a cross between dorms and apartment complexes” Snow Guard explained while not looking up from his magazine. “So are the dorm-apartments one room or do they have separate bedrooms?” Sammy questioned. “Well most have two separate bedrooms with a kitchen, and personal bathrooms” Snow guard explained while waving his hand nonchalantly. Ten minutes later the limo in front of a skyscraper. “What are you waiting for? The sooner you enter your dorm the more time you have to unpack” Snow Guard said as he lightly pushed Sammy towards the entrance of the skyscraper. “Wait that’s the dormitory that I’m staying it?” Sammy asked in a mix of bewilderment and amazement. “Yep, just tell the lady at the front desk your name and she’ll tell you where it is” Snow Guard explained. “Oh uh thanks” Sammy replied before entering the building with his luggage and noticed a werewolf female with red hair, ears, tail, teal eyes, and brown skin was working on a monitor. “Oh hello, I’m Crystal Smith. Now would you kindly tell me your name so I can tell you your dorm number” She requested with a half smile. “O-oh uh it’s Sammy, Sammy Sparks” He replied before Crystal nodded and looked up his name on the computer. “Alright, you’re going to be in room 103 on the seventy-first floor, your roommate is Sunset Shimmer and here’s your key” Crystal explained before motioning to the elevator and handing Sammy his dorm key. “Thanks Ms Crystal” Sammy replied before heading to an elevator and pressing the up button. “Oh you can just call my Crystal” She replied with a smile before Sammy waved and entered the elevator. One surprisingly short elevator ride later, Sammy had reached the seventy-first floor and walked out of the elevator with his suitcase rolling behind him while his backpack was draped over his shoulder. Once at the door of his dorm he knocked on it. “Come in!” A feminine voice called before Sammy grabbed the knob and opened the door to see a unicorn mare with a red, gold mane, tail, deep sky blue eyes and pineapple colored fur sitting on a sofa while watching TV. Sunset was wearing a magenta t-shirt with black jeans on. “U-um hi, I’m your new roommate, Sammy Sparks” He introduced as he felt his face heat up a bit. “Nice to meet ya, name’s Sunset. Your room is over there” She replied as she pointed to a door that was across from the front door. “Uh thanks, Sunset” Sammy said before taking his luggage into his room to unpack. Once inside his room Sammy saw an empty bookshelf cypress bookshelf, a cypress dress across form a redwood desk that’s next to a queen sized bed that had what looked to be three uniforms; one was a cherry red coat with a white button-up shirt, a black tie and gray pants; next to it was a white t-shirt with the University’s name on it and black shorts; the final piece of clothing was a red, and white swim trunks. With a sigh Sammy began to unpack after placing his uniforms into a drawer. After putting away his backpack and suitcase Sam stretched before leaving his room. “Hey Sunset w-what year are you in?” Sam asked as he went to the sink to fill up a glass. “First, what about you?” Sunset asked as she watched Sammy. “Same here” Sammy replied before taking a drink of water. “Say, what’s the Entrance Festival like?” “Well I’m sure your escort told you but it’s held for new students, with one of the activities being a non-graded tournament that students can participate in to show off their magic. I was thinking of entering, what about you?” Sunset asked after she turned around to lean over the back of the sofa. “Fuck ya I’m entering, I wanna see what everyone else can do!” Sammy replied as he did a fist pump. “Heh someone’s cocky” Sunset commented before giving him a smile and a wink. “W-what no I’m not! I’m just e-excited that’s all” Sammy retorted as his face flushed in embarrassment. Sure, sure. But what’s that black thing that’s on your neck?” Sunset asked. “Oh this? I think it’s like a magical tattoo or something, thought I’m not sure since it just showed up one day” Sammy explained as he pulled his shirt towards his left shoulder to show a jet black raven. “What do you mean it just showed up?” Sunset asked as she raised an eyebrow. “Well I woke up one day and it was just there, neither my parents nor I have any clue how it got there” Sammy replied and shrugged before taking a drink of water. “Uh huh? Well in any case we should get going” Sunset suggested before turning back around on the sofa so she could stand up. “Besides whether I participate or not I’m gonna watch the tournament anyway, some of my friends are participating” “Cool, maybe I’ll face off against a couple of them” Sammy replied before gulping down the water and placing it in the sink. “Well if you do then good luck, you’re gonna need it if you go against Applejack, Twilight or Rainbow Dash” Sunset encouraged before putting on a leather jacket. “Let me guess, they’re strong?” Sammy asked as he followed his roommate out the door. “Well physically Applejack is the strongest, magic wise Twilight is and speed wise well Rainbow Dash is the fastest” Sunset explained as her and Sammy walked to the elevator. “Heh sounds like it’s going to be fun!” Sammy declared as he smacked his palm while the two entered the elevator. “You’re really pumped for this aren’t you?” Sunset chuckled as she pressed the first floor button. “W-what can I say, this is the first time I’ve ever been to something like this” Sammy replied as he scratched the back of his neck. “Same” Sunset said along with a small smile as the elevator descended. “Hey Sunset, may I ask what magic you have?” Sammy questioned. “Well other then the hereditary telekinesis I can also do lots of spells, I’m not exactly at Twilight’s level but I could manage” Sunset explained as the elevator stopped on the twentieth floor before opening it’s doors, revealing an earth pony mare with a bright magenta colored mane, tail, bright blue eyes and pink fur who immediately leaped at Sunset. “Sunny!” The Pink mare screamed as she tightly hugged Sunset while an Alicorn mare with a dark purple, dark violet, magenta colored mane, tail with dark lavender eyes and lavender fur pried her friend off of Sunset. “Pinkie I know you haven't seen Sunset in a while but still” The Alicorn mare said as Sunset chuckled. “Hey Twilight, Pinkie, this is my roommate Sammy” Sunset introduced as Sammy waved. “Ohmygoshhellomyname’sPinkeminaDianPiebutyoucanjustcallmePinkiePie!” She replied as she vigorously shook Sammy’s hand. “Heh sorry about that, I’m Twilight Sparkle” She added before giving Sammy a sympathetic look. Pinkie Pie was wearing a light blue jacket with a white tank-top, a pink skirt and baby blue, white tennis shoes. Twilight on the other hand was wearing a sea-foam t-shirt with black sweatpants, red and white shoes. “It’s okay, but are you entering the tournament?” Sammy asked twilight as the elevator descended again. “No but Rainbow Dash and Applejack are” Twilight explained. “Are you?” “Yep” Sammy replied as the elevator made it to the first floor. “Well I hope either of you win” Sunset said. “Either way I’m gonna throw a gigantic party!” Pinkie Pie shouted in joy as she shot out of the elevator, causing Twilight and Sunset to sigh before giggling. “Well we should probably get to the campus before the festival starts” Sammy suggested as him and the other two nodded in approval before walking out of the elevator. The Festival Tournament PT 1“So Sammy you said you have a sister, what is she like?” Twilight asked as the four was closing in on Star-pillar University’s campus. “Well Brenda, my sister is really kind though she can get a bit physical when wanting to wake me up; oh, she’s also an elf and exactly two years younger than me” Sammy replied as the four stopped in front of a crosswalk. “An elf? But aren’t you human also what do you mean by physical?” Sunset asked as she narrowed her eyes. “Heh I should explain, Brenda was adopted by my parents when I was eight, and well when I meant physical I mean by she has a tendency to hit me if I don’t wake up when she comes to wake me up” Sammy explained as he rubbed his ribs. “Uh why are you rubbing your ribs?” Pinkie Pie deadpanned asked. “Because it’s where she hit me this morning” Sammy replied while trying to hold back a giggle. ================================================= A couple of blocks away… “Ugh where are they?” Rainbow Dash impatiently asked as she crossed her arms and pouted; she was wearing a white t-shirt with dark blue jeans, and running shoes. “Darling I’m sure they’re on their way” Rarity reassured while wearing a dark purple dress that matched her mane, tail with black heels and lavender purse. “Yea well they better get here soon, I don’t want the competitor places to the tournament being filled up!” Rainbow Dash replied as she kicked a can. “U-um I don’t t-think you’ll have t-to worry” Fluttershy interjected as she had her hands behind the back of her spring green dress that stopped above her pink shoes. “Rainbow I think Rarity’s right, besides I see Pinkie Pie about to round the corner” Applejack added as the rest of their friends including a guy the haven’t seen before rounded the corner; apposed to her friends Applejack is reading a buttoned up red flannel with a denim skirt, brown knee-high boots and a light brown cowboy hat. “Hiya everyone!” Pinkie Pie called as she led the small group behind her. “Bout time you guys showed up” Rainbow Dash replied in an irritated tone. “By the way who’s the boy with ya?” Applejack asked. “Oh this is Sammy, he’s my roommate” Sunset introduced as Sammy waved. “Heya” Sammy added. “Sup, name’s Rainbow Dash” she replied. “Nice to meet you darling, I’m Rarity” Rarity added. “Howdy, I’m Applejack” she said as she tipped her hat. “A-and I’m Fluttershy...” She added as she hid behind Applejack. “Anyway with introductions out of the way shall we head to Star-pillar University?” Sunset suggested. “Yes please!” Rainbow Dash answered before sighing in relief. “Uh what’s her deal?” Sammy whispered to Sunset as the group began walking towards the university. “Oh she can get impatient, especially when it comes to stuff like tournaments” Sunset explained while the group walked. “So anyway, what’s your magic?” Rainbow Dash asked Sammy as a mischievous grin grew on his face. “Oh you’ll find out during the tournament” Sammy replied along with a wink. “You’re entering the tournament too?” Applejack questioned as they crossed another crosswalk. “Yep and I here that you and Rainbow Dash are entering as well” Sammy replied. “You bet! And I’m gonna defeat Applejack in that tournament!” Rainbow Dash said triumphantly at her supposed premeditated win. “Don’t be so sure on that Rainbow” Applejack retorted with one eye open and looking at her azure Pegasus friend. “Oh and why’s that AJ?” Rainbow Dash asked. “Because you’re the one who’s going to be defeated” Applejack responded as the rest watched while the two got into a competitive argument. “Uh is that normal for them?” Sammy asked with a hint of disbelief. “Unfortunately yes” Rarity replied after sighing as everyone else nodded. ================================================= “So then what do you wanna do now that we’re signed up?” Sammy asked as him Rainbow Dash and Applejack walked back to their friends. “Well since the tournament doesn’t start for another hour and classes don’t start til tomorrow why not explore the campus?” Twilight suggested as Sammy, Applejack and Rainbow Dash met back up with them. “I’m down with that” Rainbow Dash replied as she stretched. “Same here” Pinkie Pie added. “Oh and while we’re looking we can look for some open booths!” “Oh maybe there’s booths that have gems and lace!” Rarity excitedly said. “Well I’m not really looking for anything so I probably will just explore” Sammy replied. Then why don’t we meet up in front of the main entrance?” Sunset suggested before everyone nodded in approval. ================================================= “Hello Everyone! I am President Luna, and this is Vice-president Cadence, we welcome the new students to Star-pillar University! So everyone who signed up for the tournament please head to Star-pillar Arena” President Luna called as tons of students headed to the stadium including Sammy, Sunset and her friends. “Lets see...the first match ups are, Sammy Sparks Vs Sunburst, Rainbow Dash Vs Applejack and Midnight Vs Trixie” Vice-president Luna read. “Well good luck sugarcube...uh something the matter?” Applejack asked Sammy. “Oh uh it’s nothing hahaha” Sammy lied. “Could it be? No It can’t” He thought. “You sure nothing’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost” Rainbow Dash commented. “Y-yea, I’m sure. Well I need to get going” Sammy replied before quickly leaving the participant area and heading to the entrance to the stadium’s field. Once to the entrance Sammy saw a unicorn stallion by the name of Sunburst standing there and waiting for him. “Heya, names Sunburst. Well good luck!” He said before teleporting onto the field. “You too...” Sammy trailed before sighing and entering the field. “Come on Sammy this is no time to have doubts!” As Sammy entered he noticed that the field was divided into halves, at the end of one half stood his opponent while the other half was empty and decided that’s where he probably has to go. “Now that both competitors have entered the field lets announce the rules” Vice-president Cadence exclaimed. “Rule one, have fun; rule two, this is not graded; rule three don’t kill each other; and finally, this is just a sparing tournament so please do be careful” “All joking aside, those who have extremely powerful magic try not to harm your opponent...much. However if anyone does get seriously injured we have several surgeons, doctors, nurses and healers ready” President Luna added before pressing a button that encompassed the field it’s self in a clear magic barrier. “Now then let’s get this tournament started!” Sunburst brought his arms in front of him right before a massive bright orange bolt of fire shot out of his hand and headed towards Sammy. The crowd watched in disbelief as the fire-bolt struck an inch in front of Sammy, causing massive explosion that left a three-foot wide crater that left a large mass of smoke in it. “Phew, that was close.” Sammy chuckled before blowing away the smoke, revealing him to be unharmed with two large jet black raven-like wings coming out from between his shoulder blades. “If I hadn’t brought my wings out I sure would have been naked” “U-uh it appears that Sammy has b-blocked Sunburst’s attack...wait he’s human right?” President Luna manage to ask through her shock. “I think so, but if it’s magic I’ve never seen this type before” Vice-president Cadence replied. “S-sorry I didn’t...wait what?” Sunburst started before realizing what Sammy had just said. “Oh fire doesn’t affect me. Not that I would’ve felt it anyway” Sammy explained before he took off into the sky. “W-well if fire doesn’t work then how about this?” Sunburst questioned before shooting several large icicles at Sammy as he dodged each one. Sammy suddenly stopped flying before his wings turned dark metallic silver and began shooting feather-like razors from them, which in turn collided with the icicles, causing them to shatter. “Oh shit!” Sunburst thought as he immediately put up a magic barrier to stop the feather-like projectiles that were shooting down at him. Sunburst was forced to kneel as the pressure from the constant downfall of razors was starting to wear on his barrier. As Sunburst’s barrier was about break the attack had suddenly stopped. Sunburst looked up to see why Sammy had stopped attacking when he noticed his opponent's right arm stretched out as something started to manifest in his grasp. “N-no way...” Twilight thought as the object started to take the shape of a scythe with a curved handle-like grip with a hook-like protrusion coming from the back of the black blade, along with a small spike on the opposite side of where the blade meets wood and a purple diamond in the center. “He can summon a magi-weapon?” President Luna asked as the scythe fully formed. “Um Twilight, what’s a magi-weapon?” Pinkie Pie asked. “It’s special weapon that some people are able to manifest from their magic” Twilight explained as Sammy raised the scythe above his right shoulder and began flying towards Sunburst. Within seconds Sammy was in front of Sunburst with the point of the blade being nearly a quarter of an inch away from his neck. “And with that Sammy Sparks is the winner!” both President Luna and Vice-president Cadence called as Sammy helped Sunburst up while the crowd erupted into cheers. “T-thanks” Sunburst said as the wings and scythe disappeared. “No problem but I truly did think I was going to die a couple of times” Sammy admitted. “Same here, but we should probably leave before the next match” Sunburst suggested as he began to head to the exit. “Good point” Sammy replied as he followed Sunburst. “Okay Everyone we’re gonna take a ten minute break to fix the field!” President Luna said. The Festival Tournament PT 2“Congrats on winning your first match” Twilight said as Sammy sat down with his friends. “Yea you were super-duper cool! You were like swoosh and mmwm” Pinkie Pie said until she was cutoff by Sunset’s hand. “Heh Pinkie I think he gets he gets it but anyway what did you meant by not being able to feel the fire?” “Well first thanks and second I can’t feel it because the nerves that send pain signals to my brain were damaged when I was like four, so I can’t feel any pain at all” Sammy replied as he rubbed the back of his neck. “But I’ll explain it later, Applejack and Rainbow Dash are heading out” ================================================= Both Applejack and Rainbow Dash shouted as they brought their fists to a near inch of each other’s faces. “W-well it’s a tie, what do you think we should do Vice-president Cadence?” President Luna asked as Applejack and Rainbow Dash moved away from each other. “I think we should flip a coin, what do you think?” Vice-president Cadence replied as she brought up a virtual red and blue sided coin onto the screen. “Y’all kidding me?” Applejack asked now annoyed at theproposition. “Yea! I mean I clearly won!” Rainbow Dash added. “Red for Rainbow Dash and blue for Applejack” President Luna said as she pressed a button, causing the duel colored coin to flip into the virtual air. The coin did several spins before landing blue side up before Vice-president Cadence spoke into the mic. “Well then that settles it; Applejack is the winner!” “Excellent, now then would Trixie and Midnight please enter the field” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence requested before a light blue unicorn mare who wore a cliché looking magician clothing walked out onto the field. “Applaud as The Great And Powerful Trrrrixie is here!” She called after entering her side of the field. “Uh where’s Midnight?” President Luna questioned as it looked to be that Trixie was the only one to show up. “Midnight if you’re hear then please make your way onto the field or we’ll be forced to give Trixie the win by default” Vice-president Cadence added. “Well if she’s too scared-” Trixie started as a fifth grader looking girl with waist-length dust gray hair done in a singular pigtail with magenta eyes, very fair skin who was wearing a black raven’s feather behind her left ear, wearing a turquoise blue hoodie with a charcoal skirt and pink, white shoes walked onto the field. “Hehe sorry, this place is just so big!” The girl replied before everyone shouted in shock. “Oh and everyone I’m Midnight” “No fucking way” Sammy muttered as his eyes widened upon seeing Midnight. “Also Sammy, long time no see and congratulations on winning!” Midnight called as she turned to one side of the stadium and waved her hands in the air. “Sammy you know her?” Sunset asked as she turned her head to face her roommate. “Yea kinda, I thought she was just my imagination” Sammy replied. “Uh aren’t you like in fifth grade?” Trixie commented as Midnight turned towards her opponent. “Nope, tomorrow I’m gonna be a first year at Star-pillar Uni!” Midnight retorted along with a smirk and crossed her arms. “Match three of the Festival Tournament shall now begin!” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence Called. ‘The Great And Powerful Trixie shall win this match in a second!” She shouted before disappearing in a puff a smoke. “Heh that disappearing act isn’t gonna work” Midnight smugly said as black flame engulfed her right hand before she brought her hand up in front of her as a ball of flame formed from her palm. “Take this...” Trixie started as Midnight’s flame-engulfed hand shot in front of her with the ball of fire mere inches from her face. “Hehe I win” Midnight replied before winking at Trixie and sticking her tongue out as she stopped the fire. “F-fine Trixie admits defeat...but beware as The Great And Powerful Trixie shall defeat you in a future match!” She declared before throwing down a smoke bomb and running towards the exit, leaving Midnight in the field. “Did Trixie just use a smoke bomb?” Sammy deadpanned asked. “Yes, even though she can create smoke she still uses smoke bombs” Sunset explained as Midnight headed towards the exit as two more contestants entered the field. “She sounds like a handful” Sammy chuckled as President Luna and Vice-president Cadence announced the names of the next competitors. “Yea but she’s a good friend” Sunset replied as the group watched the two current competitors spar. ================================================= “Good luck you two!” Pinkie Pie shouted as Sammy and Applejack entered the field. “Good luck sugarcube” Applejack said before going to one side of the field. “You to” Sammy replied as he went to the opposite side. “Now that Applejack and Sammy Sparks have entered the field lets get this match started!” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence called as Sammy brought out his wings and scythe. “Here I come!” Sammy shouted as flew into the air before dive towards his opponent. “Heh I was hoping y’all would” Applejack replied before placing her hands on the ground, causing the earth to shake before tree trunks shot out of the ground towards Sammy. With a swipe of his arm Sammy sliced the wood into stumps before continuing to his opponent who jumped backwards to evade Sammy’s scythe. “I have to admit, you’re way stronger then it looked during your first match” Applejack commented before creating a lasso-like vine, Applejack then grabbed her opponent’s leg with the vine and flung him towards the ground. “Heh you’re no pushover yourself” Sammy replied before getting up, and revealing that he has a compound fractured wing along with a dislocated arm. “Uh whoops, sorry partner. I didn’t mean to throw you down with that much force” Applejack said while trying to hold her lunch in. “Competitor Sammy Sparks, do you want to continue?” President Luna asked. “You bet ya! Besides I’m fine, now just let me...” Sammy replied as he popped his arm back into place while his broken wing shone as it began to move slightly with the bones sinking back under before the skin closed and jet black raven feathers emerged from the bare skin. “Hold up, you can regenerate?” Applejack asked as Sammy finished healing. “Yep, now then shall we continue?” Sammy suggested as he took a defensive stance. “Only if you like” Applejack replied as it was her turn turn to rush towards her opponent with her vine in hand. “I don’t remember him having regeneration, nor do I remember him having any magi-weapon at all. But I doubt it’ll interfere with my plans” Midnight thought as she watched the match with a look that’s a combination of smugness with inquisitiveness. Meanwhile back in the match… “I can’t believe you this strong though. And it looked like you and Rainbow Dash were evenly matched” Sammy complimented as he blocked each punch that Applejack threw with one of his own. “Well that’s because we pretty much are evenly matched” Applejack replied as she to traded fists with her opponent. “But I think this match has gone on long enough!” “I couldn’t agree-” Sammy started before getting punched in the gut which in turn sent him flying across the field. “Okay that was cheep!” “Yea but necessary” Applejack retorted as she brought her hands to her side before slowly bringing them up to in front of her chest and slamming them together into a ball shape. “W-what?” Sammy asked as the ground started to shake before several trees and plants shot out of the ground and did the same motion Applejack did before sealing Sammy in a plant based ball. “Well that’s that. Pleasure sparing against ya” Applejack said before heading towards the exit. “Well I guess I’m gonna have to deal with singed clothes” Sammy thought as the inside of the ball lit up when black flames engulfed his hands. “Applejack is the-wait I don’t think Sammy Sparks is quite done yet!” President Luna said as Applejack stopped walking at the sound of wood cracking and burning. “What in tarnation?” Applejack thought before she turned around to see small cracks in the ball with some sort of black light emitting from it. Applejack’s eyes widened as the cracks grew before streams of black fire emerged from the holes; knowing what was coming next she immediately put up a wall made of Australian Buloke before the plant based ball exploded in a ball of black flame, revealing a shirtless Sammy with no shoes and singed pants along with the raven mark in full veiw. “Man that thing was cramped, but I guess I could of held back a bit” Sammy said as he stretched while splinters of wood rained down around him. “Now then I think it’s my turn again” he said before taking off into the sky again and landing in front of Applejack with the fire about six inches away from her face. “W-what how?” Applejack asked now dumbfounded as the university’s President and Vice-president announced the winner. “Easy, I said I was fireproof in my first match, so it would only make sense I can use fire as well” Sammy replied before chuckling. “And also being in a giant flammable ball with a fire user isn’t the best idea” He added. “Ah suppose you have a good point, but anyway congrats on winning” Applejack responded before the two walked back towards the exit. “So um what are you gonna do about your clothing?” “Oh shoot” Sammy replied before sighing and slumping his shoulders. “I didn’t take into account of needing to use my fire in such a small space” “Well I’m sure Twilight or Sunset will be more then willing to teleport to your room and grab some spare clothes” Applejack said as the two went through the exit as they passed two other contestants, one of which was Midnight who gave Sammy a wink. ================================================= “Yea, I’ll be more then happy to bring you some spares.” Sunset said as she shrugged. “Though do you want me to bring ya back an extra set just in case?” “If you would that would be great, thanks Sunset” Sammy replied as he sat down on a bench. “Think nothing of it” Sunset retorted before disappearing in a flash of light. “Now then, I do have to say you surprised me even more then before” Applejack said as Sunset appeared in Sammy’s room and grabbed some clothes from his dresser. “Normally no one can cut through those trunks that I shot from the ground” Applejack added. “Heh well magi-weapons do tend to be a lot stronger their normal counterparts” Sammy replied as Sunset reappeared in front of the two. “Here ya go, I brought you an extra shirt and pants just in case” Sunset explained before handing her roommate his clothes. “Thanks Sunset, I’ll be right back” Sammy replied before grabbing the clothes and heading to the bathroom so he could change. “No problem” She replied as Sammy headed to the bathroom. “Strange one isn’t he?” Applejack asked. “Depends, on what you’re consider strange” Sunset replied before stretching. “Well I’m no expert in magic and abilities like that but from what I know most only have at least one or two powers” Applejack responded. “Eh so what? But anyway we should probably head back to our friends, I’ll text Sammy about where we are” Sunset said before taking her phone out and texting Sammy. "Good idea, well I'll be heading to the rest" Applejack replied before leaving. The Festival Tournament PT 3“Prince Blueblood is the winner” President Luna said as the stadium fell silent. “Man I wanted to spar against Midnight” Sammy said as he slumped his shoulders and began to pout. “Yea, I know how you felt. And I’m pretty sure everyone else wanted Midnight to win as well” Twilight replied. “Hmpf, that sad excuse fore a stallion didn’t deserve to win!” Rarity added as she huffed and crossed her arms. “He’s that bad huh?” Sammy asked. “Oh you have no idea, when he asked me to the winter dance last year he practically ignored me and treated me like some kind of maid” Rarity replied. “Well then don’t worry because he stands no chance against me!” Sammy responded along with a confident smile. “Thanks darling” Rarity said. “Darling huh? I didn’t realize you two were dating” Midnight teased after appearing behind Sammy, causing him to scream and fall out of his seat. “Oh no no, I call just about everyone that...well except for Prince Bitchblood” Rarity explained as Sunset helped Sammy up. “Oh okay and sorry Sammy, are you hurt?” Midnight asked. “Heh I’m fine thanks” Sammy replied before being hugged by Midnight. “But Midnight I wanted to thank you for what you did all those years ago” “Oh it’s no big deal, besides I couldn’t just let a kid be lost in the forest. Who knows what could of happened to you” Midnight replied as she looked up to Sammy with a smile. “Um I hate to break up the reunion but do you mind telling us what happened?” Applejack asked. “Oh uh sure, to cut it short I got lost when I was six years old because I saw a jackalope kit, after not being able to see my parents I kinda started to cry until I stumbled into a cave where Midnight found me and led me back to my parents before she disappeared” Sammy explained. “Speaking of which what were you doing in that cave and where did you go?” “Well I lived nearby so I was just looking for rocks and well I had to make sure that I was back at my home on time” Midnight replied before giving Sammy another tight squeeze. “Not that any of that was remotely true, I just need his trust” She thought. “Oh and is it okay if Midnight sits with us?” Sammy asked the rest of his friends who all nodded in agreement. “Thanks!” Midnight replied before sitting down. ================================================= “Alright everyone, Sammy Sparks and Prince Blueblood are up!” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence said as Sammy entered the field before Prince Blueblood entered who had a cocky smile on his face. “Ugh even from this distance I can feel his god complex” Sammy thought and sighed as Prince Blueblood reached the opposite side of the field. “Based from what I saw from Midnight’s match I don’t think I’m gonna use my flames, or wings” “Now then let round three begin!” President Luna shouted as Sammy manifested his scythe while Prince Blueblood’s hands were engulfed in blue flames. “A scythe really?” Prince Blueblood sarcastically questioned. “Yep, cause that’s all I need” Sammy responded as he slowly approached his opponent with the magi-weapon resting on his shoulder. “Well if you get burned then that’s not my problem” Prince Blueblood said as he began shooting medium-sized blue fireballs at Sammy. As Sammy walked towards his opponent blue fireballs flew passed him with the occasional fireball coming straight towards him which he effortlessly deflected with his free hand. “Whoa he’s not even dodging it!” Midnight excitedly said as her and Sammy’s friends watched the match. “Yea, he’s extremely strong. Even my plant prison couldn’t hold him” Applejack added. “J-just as long as h-he doesn’t burn h-his clothes again...” Fluttershy added. “You know to be honest I thought you would have been tougher” Sammy said as he was at this point about six feat away from Prince Blueblood. “Don’t underestimate me!” Prince Blueblood shouted in anger before throwing several fireballs at Sammy who in turn evaded each one. “Oh I’m not” Sammy replied before appearing in front of Prince Blueblood with the edge of the scythe pointing away from him but the spike on the other hand was three-inches away from his head. “Still I don’t know how Midnight could of lost to you” “W-w-what?” Prince Blueblood questioned as he fell onto his rear as everyone else cheered while Sammy’s scythe disappeared. With a sigh Sammy started walking towards the exit, leaving Prince Blueblood on the ground while the President and Vice-president announced his third victory. ================================================= “Wow congratulations on winning your third match in a row!” Sunset texted Sammy as he decided to stay in the contestant area. “Thanks, but to tell you the truth Prince Blueblood or as Rarity calms him Prince Bitchblood was weaker then a house fly...at least to me” Sammy texted back. “Yea but I don’t know how he ended up moving onto match two” Sunset responded. “Oh and it looks like your last opponent for the tournament has been decided” “JFC already? And I wasn’t even able to finish my doughnut” Sammy texted as he began to head towards the field’s entrance. “Uh you know you can just eat it on the way right?” Sunset replied. “Oh well GTG, TTYL” Sammy replied before putting his phone away and continued to eat his doughnut on the way to the entrance. One short walk later… “So I assume you’re Sammy right? Name’s Taylor Bronto” He said after Sammy rounded the corner to see a gryphon demi-human with caramel hair done in a quiff haircut style style, sea green eyes, light brown skin with bright orange feathers on his lower arms along with same colored wings and lion’s tail; he also wore a light bluish gray t-shirt with sand yellow pants, amethyst and white colored running shoes. “You got that right!” Sammy replied after licking the frosting off of his fingers. “Nice to meet ya, now then we shouldn’t keep the audience waiting any longer” Taylor said. “You got that right, after you” Sammy replied before Taylor entered the field before Sammy did. “Alright everyone! Third year Taylor Bronto has entered with first year Sammy Sparks following! Once the two are in place the final match shall begin!” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence called as the crowd cheered. “Ready to lose?” Taylor sarcastically asked. “Same to you!” Sammy retorted before fist-bumping his opponent and going to one side of the field as Taylor went to the other side. “Now then let’s get this match started!” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence called.
OriginsTwelve years ago… “M-momma, Dadda, where *sniff* are you?” A six year-old human boy asked through tears as he entered a nearby cave in search of his parents. “Hm? Who the hell could that be?” A female shadow thought as she saw a little boy with jet black hair, flame orange eyes, and honey colored skin enter the cave. The boy was wearing a blue short-sleeve jacket with a white tank-top, brown cargo shorts and caramel colored boots. “Momma Dadda, I’m scared” The boy cried as he looked around a bit. The shadow smirked upon getting a thought before transforming into a ten year old girl with waist length dust gray hair, magenta eyes, and very fair skin with a black raven feather behind her left ear. “Hmm maybe I can do something about that?” The shadow asked after she walked to the boy. “H-huh? Who *sniff* are you?” The boy asked. “I’m Midnight what’s your name?” She asked. “I-it’s S-Sammy Sparks” He replied. “Well then Sammy, I’ve come to lead you back to your parents” Midnight replied with a big smile. “R-really? You know where Momma and Dadda are?” Sammy asked, now with a smile as as his tears slowly stopped falling. “Y-yea, in fact I’ll take you to them. But on one condition” Midnight replied as she tilted her head with a soft smile pasted on her face. “U-um okay?” Sammy said now confused. “I want you to say my name” Midnight requested. “Okay? Um Midnight...” Sammy did as she asked. “Great! Now then follow me and I’ll take you back to your folks” Midnight replied with a smile before grabbing Sammy’s hand. “U-um thanks Midnight, but why did you want me to say your name?” Sammy asked as Midnight led him out of the cave to his parents. “I don’t know, I just never heard anyone say it before.” Midnight replied while thinking. “Yea right I just needed you to say it so that a pact could be made” “Oh okay, well I think it’s a pretty name” Sammy said with a smile. “Um thanks...” Midnight replied as the two started hearing Sammy’s parents call his name. “Momma, Dadda!” Sammy called. “Sammy? Where are you?” His parents asked. “Over here! But thank you Midnight?...” Sammy replied as he turned around to see that Midnight was gone and fore a brief moment he was sad until his parents found him. “Sammy there you are! We were worried sick, where were you?” Mr Sparks asked. “Oh I saw a Jackalope kit and followed it. Then I realized I didn’t know where you two where so I began to cry then I went in this cave and met a girl who led me back to you but when I turned around she was gone” Sammy replied enthusiastically. “Okay? Well we’re just glad you’re safe” Mrs Sparks said as she hugged her son. Later that night Sammy was fast asleep in his bed when Midnight manifested outside his window and watched him sleep. “Now that our pact is complete I should give you a memento of sorts...” Midnight muttered before raising her right arm at Sammy’s sleeping body. A dull black light started shining from Midnight’s hand as a similar light started shinning from Sammy’s left shoulder before leaving a jet black raven mark. Satisfied with her work Midnight transformed into a medium sized raven before flying away. ==================================================================================================== “Sammy, Sammy wake up! I said wake up!” An elf girl with rose gold hair, green eyes and fair skin shouted before hitting her brother in the ribs. “Ow! What was that for Brenda?” Sammy screamed in pain. “Hmpf! You wouldn’t wake up!” Brenda replied before heading for Sammy’s door. “Still, did you have to hit me?” Sammy asked as he sat up in bed. “Yes, now hurry up and get dressed, mom’s almost done making waffles...” Brenda trailed off with a sad look in her eyes. “Oh and big bro?” “What is it?” Sammy asked. “I’m going to miss you Sammy” Brenda replied. “Brenda, I’m not dying, I’m just going to be starting college today. Besides I’ll be coming to visit during breaks and your birthday” Sammy explained. “Yea I know...just hurry up and get dressed” Brenda replied before leaving Sammy’s room and shutting the door. Sammy chuckled as he shook his head before getting up and heading to his dresser. A few minutes later Sammy emerged wearing a solid sand green flannel with a light stone gray t-shirt, with light coal pants and black shoes before heading down to the dinning room where his Dad and sister was. “Good morning Sam” Mr Sparks said as he took a sip from his soda. “Morning dad, rib breaker” Sammy replied as he sat down. “Hmpf I only did that because you wouldn’t wake up” Brenda retorted. “Yea, Yea I know pajama pants head” Sammy said. “You’re just jealous that I don’t have to start school for another week” Brenda replied as her and Sammy’s mother walked in carrying a pan of chocolate chip and blueberry flavored waffles. “Morning Sammy, are you ready for you pact for Star-pillar University?” Mrs Sparks asked as she set down the waffles before sitting down. “Yea, I finished packing last night so I’m pretty much all set” Sammy replied as he grabbed two chocolate and two blueberry pancakes. “What about the condoms?” Mrs Sparks deadpanned asked causing Sammy to choke on a bite of a syrup covered waffle. Once the waffle had gone down Sammy replied “Moooom!” “What? You shouldn’t speak of yourself like that, but then again...” Sammy replied as he approached the four with the look of anger in his eyes. “S-Sammy?” Brenda asked as she looked up to see her brother smiling at her before returning his cold gaze to the three. “Unless you’re here to help us then get lost!” The first bully commanded. “Better idea, you leave my sis alone and there won’t be three trips to the hospital” Sammy retorted as he cracked his knuckles. “Tch get him! We’ll make him watch as we saw off this elf’s ears!” The first bully shouted before the two holding Brenda let her go and rushed towards Sammy. “Sammy! Once he opened the door Sammy was greeted by an earth pony stallion with a blue mane, tail and white fur. ==================================================================================================== “So Snow Guard was it? What’s Star-pillar University like?” Sammy asked as the two rode to a nearby airport in a limousine. “Oh well it’s really great, instead of an Entrance Exam there’s an Entrance Festival that’s held by upperclassmen to welcome the new students, there’s also a stadium where 1v1 tournaments are held, along with all sorts of other stuff” Snow Guard explained as he leaned back in his seat before taking a sip of Diet Coke. “So wait there’s a festival instead of an exam?” Sunny asked with a look of bewilderment on his face. “Yep, but I’m not gonna spoil what goes on during the festival I will however tell you what there is to do in Capital City, but that’s only when we land in the next airport” Snow Guard replied before snickering at Sammy’s pouting face. Sammy's Roommate“W-what are you?” A man asked as he watched a ten year old looking girl stuff her right arm into the stump of a decapitated man before making it’s way to his heart and yanking it out, squirting blood everywhere. “Tell me, ever heard of the most feared spirit, The Raven Mocker?” The girl asked before proceeding to eat the heart like it was fruit and licking the blood off of her fingers. The girl then squealed in ecstasy as a black light started emitting in her chest before engulfing her and quickly fading. “Oh seventy-three years huh? Nice, now then I wonder how many years you have left?” “No, no, no-agggh!” The man screamed in pain as The girl shot a razor sharp feather form her jet black raven wings that sliced off his left arm. “What a cute squeal, please do more” The girl requested as she lightly sliced the man’s skin, causing him to scream in pain before she shot off his head with a black flame and consuming his still beating heart. ================================================================================================== “Whoa I didn’t expect Capital to be so huge” Sammy said as him and his escort stepped outside of the airport. “Oh my Celestiayou seriously thought Capital City would be smaller?” Snow Guard replied before bursting out in a fit of laughter, causing everyone to stare at the two. “I-it just looks smaller in pictures...” Sammy said as he pouted and crossed his arms. “Yea a lot of people react the same way, but anyway we shouldn’t get keep the limo driver waiting” Snow Guard replied before the two headed towards the limousine that’s parked on a nearby curve of Capital Airport. “So you said you’re gonna tell me what there is to do in Capital. So fess up” Sammy commanded as the two got into the limo. “Alright, well there’s a massive mall that’s comprised of shops that sell items from all over the continents, along with there being an indoor water park dissipate the city being next to an ocean, as well as several story movie theaters, an arcade that has laser tag, and all sorts of other stuff” Snow Guard explained as he grabbed a magazine. “So are there dorms or are there apartments?” Sammy asked. “Well there are dormitories but they’re like a cross between dorms and apartment complexes” Snow Guard explained while not looking up from his magazine. “So are the dorm-apartments one room or do they have separate bedrooms?” Sammy questioned. “Well most have two separate bedrooms with a kitchen, and personal bathrooms” Snow guard explained while waving his hand nonchalantly. Ten minutes later the limo in front of a skyscraper. “What are you waiting for? The sooner you enter your dorm the more time you have to unpack” Snow Guard said as he lightly pushed Sammy towards the entrance of the skyscraper. “Wait that’s the dormitory that I’m staying it?” Sammy asked in a mix of bewilderment and amazement. “Yep, just tell the lady at the front desk your name and she’ll tell you where it is” Snow Guard explained. “Oh uh thanks” Sammy replied before entering the building with his luggage and noticed a werewolf female with red hair, ears, tail, teal eyes, and brown skin was working on a monitor. “Oh hello, I’m Crystal Smith. Now would you kindly tell me your name so I can tell you your dorm number” She requested with a half smile. “O-oh uh it’s Sammy, Sammy Sparks” He replied before Crystal nodded and looked up his name on the computer. “Alright, you’re going to be in room 103 on the seventy-first floor, your roommate is Sunset Shimmer and here’s your key” Crystal explained before motioning to the elevator and handing Sammy his dorm key. “Thanks Ms Crystal” Sammy replied before heading to an elevator and pressing the up button. “Oh you can just call my Crystal” She replied with a smile before Sammy waved and entered the elevator. One surprisingly short elevator ride later, Sammy had reached the seventy-first floor and walked out of the elevator with his suitcase rolling behind him while his backpack was draped over his shoulder. Once at the door of his dorm he knocked on it. “Come in!” A feminine voice called before Sammy grabbed the knob and opened the door to see a unicorn mare with a red, gold mane, tail, deep sky blue eyes and pineapple colored fur sitting on a sofa while watching TV. Sunset was wearing a magenta t-shirt with black jeans on. “U-um hi, I’m your new roommate, Sammy Sparks” He introduced as he felt his face heat up a bit. “Nice to meet ya, name’s Sunset. Your room is over there” She replied as she pointed to a door that was across from the front door. “Uh thanks, Sunset” Sammy said before taking his luggage into his room to unpack. Once inside his room Sammy saw an empty bookshelf cypress bookshelf, a cypress dress across form a redwood desk that’s next to a queen sized bed that had what looked to be three uniforms; one was a cherry red coat with a white button-up shirt, a black tie and gray pants; next to it was a white t-shirt with the University’s name on it and black shorts; the final piece of clothing was a red, and white swim trunks. With a sigh Sammy began to unpack after placing his uniforms into a drawer. After putting away his backpack and suitcase Sam stretched before leaving his room. “Hey Sunset w-what year are you in?” Sam asked as he went to the sink to fill up a glass. “First, what about you?” Sunset asked as she watched Sammy. “Same here” Sammy replied before taking a drink of water. “Say, what’s the Entrance Festival like?” “Well I’m sure your escort told you but it’s held for new students, with one of the activities being a non-graded tournament that students can participate in to show off their magic. I was thinking of entering, what about you?” Sunset asked after she turned around to lean over the back of the sofa. “Fuck ya I’m entering, I wanna see what everyone else can do!” Sammy replied as he did a fist pump. “Heh someone’s cocky” Sunset commented before giving him a smile and a wink. “W-what no I’m not! I’m just e-excited that’s all” Sammy retorted as his face flushed in embarrassment. Sure, sure. But what’s that black thing that’s on your neck?” Sunset asked. “Oh this? I think it’s like a magical tattoo or something, thought I’m not sure since it just showed up one day” Sammy explained as he pulled his shirt towards his left shoulder to show a jet black raven. “What do you mean it just showed up?” Sunset asked as she raised an eyebrow. “Well I woke up one day and it was just there, neither my parents nor I have any clue how it got there” Sammy replied and shrugged before taking a drink of water. “Uh huh? Well in any case we should get going” Sunset suggested before turning back around on the sofa so she could stand up. “Besides whether I participate or not I’m gonna watch the tournament anyway, some of my friends are participating” “Cool, maybe I’ll face off against a couple of them” Sammy replied before gulping down the water and placing it in the sink. “Well if you do then good luck, you’re gonna need it if you go against Applejack, Twilight or Rainbow Dash” Sunset encouraged before putting on a leather jacket. “Let me guess, they’re strong?” Sammy asked as he followed his roommate out the door. “Well physically Applejack is the strongest, magic wise Twilight is and speed wise well Rainbow Dash is the fastest” Sunset explained as her and Sammy walked to the elevator. “Heh sounds like it’s going to be fun!” Sammy declared as he smacked his palm while the two entered the elevator. “You’re really pumped for this aren’t you?” Sunset chuckled as she pressed the first floor button. “W-what can I say, this is the first time I’ve ever been to something like this” Sammy replied as he scratched the back of his neck. “Same” Sunset said along with a small smile as the elevator descended. “Hey Sunset, may I ask what magic you have?” Sammy questioned. “Well other then the hereditary telekinesis I can also do lots of spells, I’m not exactly at Twilight’s level but I could manage” Sunset explained as the elevator stopped on the twentieth floor before opening it’s doors, revealing an earth pony mare with a bright magenta colored mane, tail, bright blue eyes and pink fur who immediately leaped at Sunset. “Sunny!” The Pink mare screamed as she tightly hugged Sunset while an Alicorn mare with a dark purple, dark violet, magenta colored mane, tail with dark lavender eyes and lavender fur pried her friend off of Sunset. “Pinkie I know you haven't seen Sunset in a while but still” The Alicorn mare said as Sunset chuckled. “Hey Twilight, Pinkie, this is my roommate Sammy” Sunset introduced as Sammy waved. “Ohmygoshhellomyname’sPinkeminaDianPiebutyoucanjustcallmePinkiePie!” She replied as she vigorously shook Sammy’s hand. “Heh sorry about that, I’m Twilight Sparkle” She added before giving Sammy a sympathetic look. Pinkie Pie was wearing a light blue jacket with a white tank-top, a pink skirt and baby blue, white tennis shoes. Twilight on the other hand was wearing a sea-foam t-shirt with black sweatpants, red and white shoes. “It’s okay, but are you entering the tournament?” Sammy asked twilight as the elevator descended again. “No but Rainbow Dash and Applejack are” Twilight explained. “Are you?” “Yep” Sammy replied as the elevator made it to the first floor. “Well I hope either of you win” Sunset said. “Either way I’m gonna throw a gigantic party!” Pinkie Pie shouted in joy as she shot out of the elevator, causing Twilight and Sunset to sigh before giggling. “Well we should probably get to the campus before the festival starts” Sammy suggested as him and the other two nodded in approval before walking out of the elevator.
The Festival Tournament PT 1“So Sammy you said you have a sister, what is she like?” Twilight asked as the four was closing in on Star-pillar University’s campus. “Well Brenda, my sister is really kind though she can get a bit physical when wanting to wake me up; oh, she’s also an elf and exactly two years younger than me” Sammy replied as the four stopped in front of a crosswalk. “An elf? But aren’t you human also what do you mean by physical?” Sunset asked as she narrowed her eyes. “Heh I should explain, Brenda was adopted by my parents when I was eight, and well when I meant physical I mean by she has a tendency to hit me if I don’t wake up when she comes to wake me up” Sammy explained as he rubbed his ribs. “Uh why are you rubbing your ribs?” Pinkie Pie deadpanned asked. “Because it’s where she hit me this morning” Sammy replied while trying to hold back a giggle. ================================================= A couple of blocks away… “Ugh where are they?” Rainbow Dash impatiently asked as she crossed her arms and pouted; she was wearing a white t-shirt with dark blue jeans, and running shoes. “Darling I’m sure they’re on their way” Rarity reassured while wearing a dark purple dress that matched her mane, tail with black heels and lavender purse. “Yea well they better get here soon, I don’t want the competitor places to the tournament being filled up!” Rainbow Dash replied as she kicked a can. “U-um I don’t t-think you’ll have t-to worry” Fluttershy interjected as she had her hands behind the back of her spring green dress that stopped above her pink shoes. “Rainbow I think Rarity’s right, besides I see Pinkie Pie about to round the corner” Applejack added as the rest of their friends including a guy the haven’t seen before rounded the corner; apposed to her friends Applejack is reading a buttoned up red flannel with a denim skirt, brown knee-high boots and a light brown cowboy hat. “Hiya everyone!” Pinkie Pie called as she led the small group behind her. “Bout time you guys showed up” Rainbow Dash replied in an irritated tone. “By the way who’s the boy with ya?” Applejack asked. “Oh this is Sammy, he’s my roommate” Sunset introduced as Sammy waved. “Heya” Sammy added. “Sup, name’s Rainbow Dash” she replied. “Nice to meet you darling, I’m Rarity” Rarity added. “Howdy, I’m Applejack” she said as she tipped her hat. “A-and I’m Fluttershy...” She added as she hid behind Applejack. “Anyway with introductions out of the way shall we head to Star-pillar University?” Sunset suggested. “Yes please!” Rainbow Dash answered before sighing in relief. “Uh what’s her deal?” Sammy whispered to Sunset as the group began walking towards the university. “Oh she can get impatient, especially when it comes to stuff like tournaments” Sunset explained while the group walked. “So anyway, what’s your magic?” Rainbow Dash asked Sammy as a mischievous grin grew on his face. “Oh you’ll find out during the tournament” Sammy replied along with a wink. “You’re entering the tournament too?” Applejack questioned as they crossed another crosswalk. “Yep and I here that you and Rainbow Dash are entering as well” Sammy replied. “You bet! And I’m gonna defeat Applejack in that tournament!” Rainbow Dash said triumphantly at her supposed premeditated win. “Don’t be so sure on that Rainbow” Applejack retorted with one eye open and looking at her azure Pegasus friend. “Oh and why’s that AJ?” Rainbow Dash asked. “Because you’re the one who’s going to be defeated” Applejack responded as the rest watched while the two got into a competitive argument. “Uh is that normal for them?” Sammy asked with a hint of disbelief. “Unfortunately yes” Rarity replied after sighing as everyone else nodded. ================================================= “So then what do you wanna do now that we’re signed up?” Sammy asked as him Rainbow Dash and Applejack walked back to their friends. “Well since the tournament doesn’t start for another hour and classes don’t start til tomorrow why not explore the campus?” Twilight suggested as Sammy, Applejack and Rainbow Dash met back up with them. “I’m down with that” Rainbow Dash replied as she stretched. “Same here” Pinkie Pie added. “Oh and while we’re looking we can look for some open booths!” “Oh maybe there’s booths that have gems and lace!” Rarity excitedly said. “Well I’m not really looking for anything so I probably will just explore” Sammy replied. Then why don’t we meet up in front of the main entrance?” Sunset suggested before everyone nodded in approval. ================================================= “Hello Everyone! I am President Luna, and this is Vice-president Cadence, we welcome the new students to Star-pillar University! So everyone who signed up for the tournament please head to Star-pillar Arena” President Luna called as tons of students headed to the stadium including Sammy, Sunset and her friends. “Lets see...the first match ups are, Sammy Sparks Vs Sunburst, Rainbow Dash Vs Applejack and Midnight Vs Trixie” Vice-president Luna read. “Well good luck sugarcube...uh something the matter?” Applejack asked Sammy. “Oh uh it’s nothing hahaha” Sammy lied. “Could it be? No It can’t” He thought. “You sure nothing’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost” Rainbow Dash commented. “Y-yea, I’m sure. Well I need to get going” Sammy replied before quickly leaving the participant area and heading to the entrance to the stadium’s field. Once to the entrance Sammy saw a unicorn stallion by the name of Sunburst standing there and waiting for him. “Heya, names Sunburst. Well good luck!” He said before teleporting onto the field. “You too...” Sammy trailed before sighing and entering the field. “Come on Sammy this is no time to have doubts!” As Sammy entered he noticed that the field was divided into halves, at the end of one half stood his opponent while the other half was empty and decided that’s where he probably has to go. “Now that both competitors have entered the field lets announce the rules” Vice-president Cadence exclaimed. “Rule one, have fun; rule two, this is not graded; rule three don’t kill each other; and finally, this is just a sparing tournament so please do be careful” “All joking aside, those who have extremely powerful magic try not to harm your opponent...much. However if anyone does get seriously injured we have several surgeons, doctors, nurses and healers ready” President Luna added before pressing a button that encompassed the field it’s self in a clear magic barrier. “Now then let’s get this tournament started!” Sunburst brought his arms in front of him right before a massive bright orange bolt of fire shot out of his hand and headed towards Sammy. The crowd watched in disbelief as the fire-bolt struck an inch in front of Sammy, causing massive explosion that left a three-foot wide crater that left a large mass of smoke in it. “Phew, that was close.” Sammy chuckled before blowing away the smoke, revealing him to be unharmed with two large jet black raven-like wings coming out from between his shoulder blades. “If I hadn’t brought my wings out I sure would have been naked” “U-uh it appears that Sammy has b-blocked Sunburst’s attack...wait he’s human right?” President Luna manage to ask through her shock. “I think so, but if it’s magic I’ve never seen this type before” Vice-president Cadence replied. “S-sorry I didn’t...wait what?” Sunburst started before realizing what Sammy had just said. “Oh fire doesn’t affect me. Not that I would’ve felt it anyway” Sammy explained before he took off into the sky. “W-well if fire doesn’t work then how about this?” Sunburst questioned before shooting several large icicles at Sammy as he dodged each one. Sammy suddenly stopped flying before his wings turned dark metallic silver and began shooting feather-like razors from them, which in turn collided with the icicles, causing them to shatter. “Oh shit!” Sunburst thought as he immediately put up a magic barrier to stop the feather-like projectiles that were shooting down at him. Sunburst was forced to kneel as the pressure from the constant downfall of razors was starting to wear on his barrier. As Sunburst’s barrier was about break the attack had suddenly stopped. Sunburst looked up to see why Sammy had stopped attacking when he noticed his opponent's right arm stretched out as something started to manifest in his grasp. “N-no way...” Twilight thought as the object started to take the shape of a scythe with a curved handle-like grip with a hook-like protrusion coming from the back of the black blade, along with a small spike on the opposite side of where the blade meets wood and a purple diamond in the center. “He can summon a magi-weapon?” President Luna asked as the scythe fully formed. “Um Twilight, what’s a magi-weapon?” Pinkie Pie asked. “It’s special weapon that some people are able to manifest from their magic” Twilight explained as Sammy raised the scythe above his right shoulder and began flying towards Sunburst. Within seconds Sammy was in front of Sunburst with the point of the blade being nearly a quarter of an inch away from his neck. “And with that Sammy Sparks is the winner!” both President Luna and Vice-president Cadence called as Sammy helped Sunburst up while the crowd erupted into cheers. “T-thanks” Sunburst said as the wings and scythe disappeared. “No problem but I truly did think I was going to die a couple of times” Sammy admitted. “Same here, but we should probably leave before the next match” Sunburst suggested as he began to head to the exit. “Good point” Sammy replied as he followed Sunburst. “Okay Everyone we’re gonna take a ten minute break to fix the field!” President Luna said.
The Festival Tournament PT 2“Congrats on winning your first match” Twilight said as Sammy sat down with his friends. “Yea you were super-duper cool! You were like swoosh and mmwm” Pinkie Pie said until she was cutoff by Sunset’s hand. “Heh Pinkie I think he gets he gets it but anyway what did you meant by not being able to feel the fire?” “Well first thanks and second I can’t feel it because the nerves that send pain signals to my brain were damaged when I was like four, so I can’t feel any pain at all” Sammy replied as he rubbed the back of his neck. “But I’ll explain it later, Applejack and Rainbow Dash are heading out” ================================================= Both Applejack and Rainbow Dash shouted as they brought their fists to a near inch of each other’s faces. “W-well it’s a tie, what do you think we should do Vice-president Cadence?” President Luna asked as Applejack and Rainbow Dash moved away from each other. “I think we should flip a coin, what do you think?” Vice-president Cadence replied as she brought up a virtual red and blue sided coin onto the screen. “Y’all kidding me?” Applejack asked now annoyed at theproposition. “Yea! I mean I clearly won!” Rainbow Dash added. “Red for Rainbow Dash and blue for Applejack” President Luna said as she pressed a button, causing the duel colored coin to flip into the virtual air. The coin did several spins before landing blue side up before Vice-president Cadence spoke into the mic. “Well then that settles it; Applejack is the winner!” “Excellent, now then would Trixie and Midnight please enter the field” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence requested before a light blue unicorn mare who wore a cliché looking magician clothing walked out onto the field. “Applaud as The Great And Powerful Trrrrixie is here!” She called after entering her side of the field. “Uh where’s Midnight?” President Luna questioned as it looked to be that Trixie was the only one to show up. “Midnight if you’re hear then please make your way onto the field or we’ll be forced to give Trixie the win by default” Vice-president Cadence added. “Well if she’s too scared-” Trixie started as a fifth grader looking girl with waist-length dust gray hair done in a singular pigtail with magenta eyes, very fair skin who was wearing a black raven’s feather behind her left ear, wearing a turquoise blue hoodie with a charcoal skirt and pink, white shoes walked onto the field. “Hehe sorry, this place is just so big!” The girl replied before everyone shouted in shock. “Oh and everyone I’m Midnight” “No fucking way” Sammy muttered as his eyes widened upon seeing Midnight. “Also Sammy, long time no see and congratulations on winning!” Midnight called as she turned to one side of the stadium and waved her hands in the air. “Sammy you know her?” Sunset asked as she turned her head to face her roommate. “Yea kinda, I thought she was just my imagination” Sammy replied. “Uh aren’t you like in fifth grade?” Trixie commented as Midnight turned towards her opponent. “Nope, tomorrow I’m gonna be a first year at Star-pillar Uni!” Midnight retorted along with a smirk and crossed her arms. “Match three of the Festival Tournament shall now begin!” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence Called. ‘The Great And Powerful Trixie shall win this match in a second!” She shouted before disappearing in a puff a smoke. “Heh that disappearing act isn’t gonna work” Midnight smugly said as black flame engulfed her right hand before she brought her hand up in front of her as a ball of flame formed from her palm. “Take this...” Trixie started as Midnight’s flame-engulfed hand shot in front of her with the ball of fire mere inches from her face. “Hehe I win” Midnight replied before winking at Trixie and sticking her tongue out as she stopped the fire. “F-fine Trixie admits defeat...but beware as The Great And Powerful Trixie shall defeat you in a future match!” She declared before throwing down a smoke bomb and running towards the exit, leaving Midnight in the field. “Did Trixie just use a smoke bomb?” Sammy deadpanned asked. “Yes, even though she can create smoke she still uses smoke bombs” Sunset explained as Midnight headed towards the exit as two more contestants entered the field. “She sounds like a handful” Sammy chuckled as President Luna and Vice-president Cadence announced the names of the next competitors. “Yea but she’s a good friend” Sunset replied as the group watched the two current competitors spar. ================================================= “Good luck you two!” Pinkie Pie shouted as Sammy and Applejack entered the field. “Good luck sugarcube” Applejack said before going to one side of the field. “You to” Sammy replied as he went to the opposite side. “Now that Applejack and Sammy Sparks have entered the field lets get this match started!” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence called as Sammy brought out his wings and scythe. “Here I come!” Sammy shouted as flew into the air before dive towards his opponent. “Heh I was hoping y’all would” Applejack replied before placing her hands on the ground, causing the earth to shake before tree trunks shot out of the ground towards Sammy. With a swipe of his arm Sammy sliced the wood into stumps before continuing to his opponent who jumped backwards to evade Sammy’s scythe. “I have to admit, you’re way stronger then it looked during your first match” Applejack commented before creating a lasso-like vine, Applejack then grabbed her opponent’s leg with the vine and flung him towards the ground. “Heh you’re no pushover yourself” Sammy replied before getting up, and revealing that he has a compound fractured wing along with a dislocated arm. “Uh whoops, sorry partner. I didn’t mean to throw you down with that much force” Applejack said while trying to hold her lunch in. “Competitor Sammy Sparks, do you want to continue?” President Luna asked. “You bet ya! Besides I’m fine, now just let me...” Sammy replied as he popped his arm back into place while his broken wing shone as it began to move slightly with the bones sinking back under before the skin closed and jet black raven feathers emerged from the bare skin. “Hold up, you can regenerate?” Applejack asked as Sammy finished healing. “Yep, now then shall we continue?” Sammy suggested as he took a defensive stance. “Only if you like” Applejack replied as it was her turn turn to rush towards her opponent with her vine in hand. “I don’t remember him having regeneration, nor do I remember him having any magi-weapon at all. But I doubt it’ll interfere with my plans” Midnight thought as she watched the match with a look that’s a combination of smugness with inquisitiveness. Meanwhile back in the match… “I can’t believe you this strong though. And it looked like you and Rainbow Dash were evenly matched” Sammy complimented as he blocked each punch that Applejack threw with one of his own. “Well that’s because we pretty much are evenly matched” Applejack replied as she to traded fists with her opponent. “But I think this match has gone on long enough!” “I couldn’t agree-” Sammy started before getting punched in the gut which in turn sent him flying across the field. “Okay that was cheep!” “Yea but necessary” Applejack retorted as she brought her hands to her side before slowly bringing them up to in front of her chest and slamming them together into a ball shape. “W-what?” Sammy asked as the ground started to shake before several trees and plants shot out of the ground and did the same motion Applejack did before sealing Sammy in a plant based ball. “Well that’s that. Pleasure sparing against ya” Applejack said before heading towards the exit. “Well I guess I’m gonna have to deal with singed clothes” Sammy thought as the inside of the ball lit up when black flames engulfed his hands. “Applejack is the-wait I don’t think Sammy Sparks is quite done yet!” President Luna said as Applejack stopped walking at the sound of wood cracking and burning. “What in tarnation?” Applejack thought before she turned around to see small cracks in the ball with some sort of black light emitting from it. Applejack’s eyes widened as the cracks grew before streams of black fire emerged from the holes; knowing what was coming next she immediately put up a wall made of Australian Buloke before the plant based ball exploded in a ball of black flame, revealing a shirtless Sammy with no shoes and singed pants along with the raven mark in full veiw. “Man that thing was cramped, but I guess I could of held back a bit” Sammy said as he stretched while splinters of wood rained down around him. “Now then I think it’s my turn again” he said before taking off into the sky again and landing in front of Applejack with the fire about six inches away from her face. “W-what how?” Applejack asked now dumbfounded as the university’s President and Vice-president announced the winner. “Easy, I said I was fireproof in my first match, so it would only make sense I can use fire as well” Sammy replied before chuckling. “And also being in a giant flammable ball with a fire user isn’t the best idea” He added. “Ah suppose you have a good point, but anyway congrats on winning” Applejack responded before the two walked back towards the exit. “So um what are you gonna do about your clothing?” “Oh shoot” Sammy replied before sighing and slumping his shoulders. “I didn’t take into account of needing to use my fire in such a small space” “Well I’m sure Twilight or Sunset will be more then willing to teleport to your room and grab some spare clothes” Applejack said as the two went through the exit as they passed two other contestants, one of which was Midnight who gave Sammy a wink. ================================================= “Yea, I’ll be more then happy to bring you some spares.” Sunset said as she shrugged. “Though do you want me to bring ya back an extra set just in case?” “If you would that would be great, thanks Sunset” Sammy replied as he sat down on a bench. “Think nothing of it” Sunset retorted before disappearing in a flash of light. “Now then, I do have to say you surprised me even more then before” Applejack said as Sunset appeared in Sammy’s room and grabbed some clothes from his dresser. “Normally no one can cut through those trunks that I shot from the ground” Applejack added. “Heh well magi-weapons do tend to be a lot stronger their normal counterparts” Sammy replied as Sunset reappeared in front of the two. “Here ya go, I brought you an extra shirt and pants just in case” Sunset explained before handing her roommate his clothes. “Thanks Sunset, I’ll be right back” Sammy replied before grabbing the clothes and heading to the bathroom so he could change. “No problem” She replied as Sammy headed to the bathroom. “Strange one isn’t he?” Applejack asked. “Depends, on what you’re consider strange” Sunset replied before stretching. “Well I’m no expert in magic and abilities like that but from what I know most only have at least one or two powers” Applejack responded. “Eh so what? But anyway we should probably head back to our friends, I’ll text Sammy about where we are” Sunset said before taking her phone out and texting Sammy. "Good idea, well I'll be heading to the rest" Applejack replied before leaving.
The Festival Tournament PT 3“Prince Blueblood is the winner” President Luna said as the stadium fell silent. “Man I wanted to spar against Midnight” Sammy said as he slumped his shoulders and began to pout. “Yea, I know how you felt. And I’m pretty sure everyone else wanted Midnight to win as well” Twilight replied. “Hmpf, that sad excuse fore a stallion didn’t deserve to win!” Rarity added as she huffed and crossed her arms. “He’s that bad huh?” Sammy asked. “Oh you have no idea, when he asked me to the winter dance last year he practically ignored me and treated me like some kind of maid” Rarity replied. “Well then don’t worry because he stands no chance against me!” Sammy responded along with a confident smile. “Thanks darling” Rarity said. “Darling huh? I didn’t realize you two were dating” Midnight teased after appearing behind Sammy, causing him to scream and fall out of his seat. “Oh no no, I call just about everyone that...well except for Prince Bitchblood” Rarity explained as Sunset helped Sammy up. “Oh okay and sorry Sammy, are you hurt?” Midnight asked. “Heh I’m fine thanks” Sammy replied before being hugged by Midnight. “But Midnight I wanted to thank you for what you did all those years ago” “Oh it’s no big deal, besides I couldn’t just let a kid be lost in the forest. Who knows what could of happened to you” Midnight replied as she looked up to Sammy with a smile. “Um I hate to break up the reunion but do you mind telling us what happened?” Applejack asked. “Oh uh sure, to cut it short I got lost when I was six years old because I saw a jackalope kit, after not being able to see my parents I kinda started to cry until I stumbled into a cave where Midnight found me and led me back to my parents before she disappeared” Sammy explained. “Speaking of which what were you doing in that cave and where did you go?” “Well I lived nearby so I was just looking for rocks and well I had to make sure that I was back at my home on time” Midnight replied before giving Sammy another tight squeeze. “Not that any of that was remotely true, I just need his trust” She thought. “Oh and is it okay if Midnight sits with us?” Sammy asked the rest of his friends who all nodded in agreement. “Thanks!” Midnight replied before sitting down. ================================================= “Alright everyone, Sammy Sparks and Prince Blueblood are up!” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence said as Sammy entered the field before Prince Blueblood entered who had a cocky smile on his face. “Ugh even from this distance I can feel his god complex” Sammy thought and sighed as Prince Blueblood reached the opposite side of the field. “Based from what I saw from Midnight’s match I don’t think I’m gonna use my flames, or wings” “Now then let round three begin!” President Luna shouted as Sammy manifested his scythe while Prince Blueblood’s hands were engulfed in blue flames. “A scythe really?” Prince Blueblood sarcastically questioned. “Yep, cause that’s all I need” Sammy responded as he slowly approached his opponent with the magi-weapon resting on his shoulder. “Well if you get burned then that’s not my problem” Prince Blueblood said as he began shooting medium-sized blue fireballs at Sammy. As Sammy walked towards his opponent blue fireballs flew passed him with the occasional fireball coming straight towards him which he effortlessly deflected with his free hand. “Whoa he’s not even dodging it!” Midnight excitedly said as her and Sammy’s friends watched the match. “Yea, he’s extremely strong. Even my plant prison couldn’t hold him” Applejack added. “J-just as long as h-he doesn’t burn h-his clothes again...” Fluttershy added. “You know to be honest I thought you would have been tougher” Sammy said as he was at this point about six feat away from Prince Blueblood. “Don’t underestimate me!” Prince Blueblood shouted in anger before throwing several fireballs at Sammy who in turn evaded each one. “Oh I’m not” Sammy replied before appearing in front of Prince Blueblood with the edge of the scythe pointing away from him but the spike on the other hand was three-inches away from his head. “Still I don’t know how Midnight could of lost to you” “W-w-what?” Prince Blueblood questioned as he fell onto his rear as everyone else cheered while Sammy’s scythe disappeared. With a sigh Sammy started walking towards the exit, leaving Prince Blueblood on the ground while the President and Vice-president announced his third victory. ================================================= “Wow congratulations on winning your third match in a row!” Sunset texted Sammy as he decided to stay in the contestant area. “Thanks, but to tell you the truth Prince Blueblood or as Rarity calms him Prince Bitchblood was weaker then a house fly...at least to me” Sammy texted back. “Yea but I don’t know how he ended up moving onto match two” Sunset responded. “Oh and it looks like your last opponent for the tournament has been decided” “JFC already? And I wasn’t even able to finish my doughnut” Sammy texted as he began to head towards the field’s entrance. “Uh you know you can just eat it on the way right?” Sunset replied. “Oh well GTG, TTYL” Sammy replied before putting his phone away and continued to eat his doughnut on the way to the entrance. One short walk later… “So I assume you’re Sammy right? Name’s Taylor Bronto” He said after Sammy rounded the corner to see a gryphon demi-human with caramel hair done in a quiff haircut style style, sea green eyes, light brown skin with bright orange feathers on his lower arms along with same colored wings and lion’s tail; he also wore a light bluish gray t-shirt with sand yellow pants, amethyst and white colored running shoes. “You got that right!” Sammy replied after licking the frosting off of his fingers. “Nice to meet ya, now then we shouldn’t keep the audience waiting any longer” Taylor said. “You got that right, after you” Sammy replied before Taylor entered the field before Sammy did. “Alright everyone! Third year Taylor Bronto has entered with first year Sammy Sparks following! Once the two are in place the final match shall begin!” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence called as the crowd cheered. “Ready to lose?” Taylor sarcastically asked. “Same to you!” Sammy retorted before fist-bumping his opponent and going to one side of the field as Taylor went to the other side. “Now then let’s get this match started!” President Luna and Vice-president Cadence called.
