Night of a New Moon

Moon POV

I put all the clothes in the walk-in closet and dresser. Move the bed to the to the far wall away from the balcony. Put the blackout curtains up to block out the sun. I set up the two armor stands I found in the closet by my bookshelves. I arrange the sofa and coffee table. I pull all the book from my bag that will be in my privet collection. I put my posters up at different spots in the wall found a loos floorboards and stash my toys. Once done with putting things away I start to make runes around the room. I put a illusion on the ceiling to look like the night sky. Next is a soundproof then runes to link two locations on the closet door so I can go from the dorm at school to the castle.

Talking my bag I go down to the living room and start putting the book on shelves. Taking a break I go back to my room I get my piercing kits. I put three in my lower and one in the top of the left ear. I pierce my tongue and put the bar in. I put the four other kits in the sink drawer. I go back down stairs and start arranging the furniture. Working on the kitchen somepony knocks on the door.

"It's open!" I call from the kitchen putting away pots and pans.

"Moon!" Luna calls

I walk out of the kitchen with a smile "Yea, ya called?"

Luna smiles back "I did and I have come to get you for dinner."

Nodding "Cool just let me run ta my room and get something."

I run back to my room get the poster of Spitfire and put my collar on. Getting back I meet Luna outside we head to the dinning room. On the way we run into the six ponies from the town the other day.

I point to the group and look to Luna "Did ya know that they would be at the castle?" I ask tilting my head confused.

"I did and I hope you don't mind me not saying anything?" I just give her a shrug.

"Princess its good to see you." Twilight says

"You as well Twilight and friends and are you all heading to the dinning room?" Luna asks

They all nod and we head in to the dining room. When we get inside Twilight and Cadance to a dance and song before taking seats. The moment Spitfire enters my grin starts so grow ear to ear. I get up from my seat and make my way over to her with poster and marker in hand.

"Spitfire could I ask ya somethin'?" I ask with a innocent smile

She raises a brow "Sure what can I do for you?"

"Could ya autograph a poster for me?" I hold up the poster and marker.

She smiles and looks to Rainbow "Look at that Dash? Only one day and shes asking for a autograph from me."

"Yea yea, What ever Spits the only reason is that she don't know any of the others like me." Rainbow says

Spitfire takes the poster "Keep dreaming Da...." She stops talking when she see the poster. She looks at me with a amused smile "Nice try filly but its going to take more that this to get me flustered." She unrolls the poster on the table and signs it before handing it back to me.

I just walk away cursing under my breath siting back down while Spitfire laughs. We eat dinner with everypony chatting about stuff that's going on in the day to day.

When I finish my dinner I look to Luna that is fussing over some papers "Princess what's buggin' ya?"

"Well the guard duels are in two days and I have yet to find a 5th captain. I was hoping to find one but it is harder then it should be." Luna tells me looking over more papers.

"Don't forget that the leaders of other nations will be in attendance. That and your night guard has not won in the last few years." Celestia smirks

running my piercing over my teeth I smile "Can I fight? I have 13 years of training that could give the night guard the edge this time."

Twilight answers before Luna or Celestia could "I don't think it would be a good idea your to young and have no guard training."

"I think ya just don't want the solar guard ta lose." I give her a calculating look "I could take ya in a fight."

"I highly do...." I release some of my magic pressure and raise a brow cutting her off.

"You made your point Moon." Luna tells me with a unamused look making me flinch.

"what in tarnation was that?" Applejack asked

"I don't know but it felt like my body was heavy darling." Rarity tells her most of the room agree with her.

"That my little ponies was magic pressure which most mage's can use." Celestia tells them. Some of them look lost till Twilight explains it.

"It's the magic that every living thing has. Some can use it at will like unicorns , pegasus and other creators that can channel it. Earth ponies magic is a passive that gives them the connection to the earth." Twilight tells them as if from a textbook.

"My head hurts." Rainbow groaned

"Tia if your ok with it I would like to let her. We would get a look at what she can do and she did volunteer." Luna tells her sister putting down her papers.

"I think at will be fine." Celestia nods

"I'll have one of the captains show you to the forge so you can get some armor." Luna tells me

"Let me run ta my room I need ta get my bag it has some stuff I used for armor they can use it as a base for the new set." I get up and head to my room. Getting my bag I leave and find a Silver Satin a light gray furred thestral unicorn with silver mane/tale and eyes in standard night guard armor.

"Luna asked me to show you to the forge." I nodded and followed Silver

One outside I see a set of buildings with chimneys. Entering I find a fully stocked forge and a dark brown earth thestral mare working a metal. I drop my bag on a work bench to grab her attention.

She Looks up "Oh..how can I help you captain?"

"Hi Iron Strike, I don't need any help but I am dropping her off. She needs some equipment for the captains duels." Silver points to me.

"Yo" I wave then look to Silver "Thanks for showing me the way. Do I need ta get a guard ta take me back or do I have free run of the castle?"

"Nah, you have free run. Have fun you two don't burn down the forge." Silver waves as she leaves

"So I have some drawin's ya can use if ya don't mind makin' custom orders and the metal that ya will need." I pull out my notebook and put it on the work bench.

"You surprise me. You look so young yet you seem to know what your looking for in equipment. I'm Iron Strike by the way." She holds out her fist

"Moon Rune and I was trainin' ta be a warrior for the past 13 years. Plus I'm only 16." I give her a fist bump

"Wow" She looks at my notebook "You put notes in this but I have to ask how am I going to work the metal? I would need a fire as hot as a dragons and I cant get the fire that hot"

"Well if its a mater of stokin' the fire I can put a rune that will make the fire as hot as a dragons but ya will have ta take the rune off if ya want use other metals" I then point to the dragon steel bars on the workbench.

"You can do that and how the hay do you get dragon steel that stuff is stronger then star metal and only dragons make it?" She looks at the bars.

"I can and they were gifts from a elder dragon." Looking at the forge I see two swords heating "Are ya done with these swords if not I can hold off makin' it hotter till your done?"

"Oh yea I just need to temper them and there done" Iron says looking at them.

As we what for the sward to heat we go over my design for the armor and weapon. She makes a copy on to another paper with the original notes for fabrics and colors for the armor plus weapons. Pulling the swords I work on the runes for the forge so the fire burns as hot as dragon fire.

"Ok, the fire is done all ya have ta do as wipe the runes from the side of the forge and the fire will go back ta normal. Don't forget ta take breaks so ya don't over heat and open the door and windows ta let the heat escape." I tell Iron

"Nice I should have the metal work done by tomorrow afternoon and the rest done in the evening." She says moving the bars to the fire.

Waving goodbye I head into the castle humming getting lost in my own world as I walk. Part way to my room I find the other captain's leaving a meeting room.

"Hi Captain's. So I have a question? How are the opponents picked?" I ask

"Ok pup, the way the duels work are two captains enter a field that has a spell you prevent real death. Then they fight till one concedes or dies." One of the mares says.

"Normally it would be unicorn vs unicorn, earth vs earth, pegasus vs pegasus but with with the night guard having three flyers, one earth and one unicorn. With day guard having one unicorn two earth and two flyers. So your going to be up against caption Green Leaf shes a earth pony and is unique in her own way as she has crystals that resummon captured beasts to fight for her." Winter informs me

"That's not ta bad it should be a interestin' fight." I tell them as we get to my room "Good night" Waving to the as the enter.

Walking to bed i drop face first in to it "You seem out of it" Nyx asks jumping on the bed.

"I'm just need some sleep sis." I feel Erebus join us "I'll see you two at some point in the mornin'. Good night."

-Next Day-

I got up the next morning got cooked breakfast for me and the girls. After food I washed up and put on one of the outfits that Cadance picked and no surprise another skirt so I got my sport shorts. I used a shackle and chain from a coven that I stayed at. I worked some runes into the shackle so I could use it to cut spell casting time. With most of my day spent working I figured checking on my armor would be good.

Walking down the halls I saw more guards then normal then I remembered the nation leader would be coming today. Going from the training yard to the forge was slow as I was watching the guard. At the Iron's forge I could hear some muffled sounds so I knocked on the door to be safe.

"Just a moment!" Iron called for the other side of the door.

The door opened and a messy maned Iron waved me in. Entering I found a thestral mare and a strong smell. I quickly open a window to get some clean air in the forge.

Turning to them "Gods ya could have opened a window before lettin' me in."

Iron's face lights up and she buries it in her hands "I-is it t-that bad?" She stutters from her hands.

"A wee bit for my nose but I can't speak for others." I tell her then look at the chuckling mare "Marefriend?" I pointed at her.

"I that be me. Names Mist Glaive, nice ta meet ya." Mist says pulling Iron over to her with a big grin.

Taking a good look at them. Iron has golden eyes dark brown fur dirty blond mane and tail she has on a t-shirt and blue shorts showing off her double d chest and well toned figure. Mist has yellow eyes smokey gray fur silver mane and tail with a black highlight. She has one a t-shirt and dark blue cargo pants standard night guard training uniform. She's a double b maybe c with a hourglass figure with muscle to tell she works for the guard.

"I know I hot but ant ya a bit young to be checking out mares?" Mist says with a cheeky smirk getting eye level with me.

'Two can play at this game' I smile "Ya might say that but I know how ta make them shiver." I puur running my fingers under her jawline sending a shiver along her spine.

"Wa!" Is all she says jolting to standing position taking a step back from me.

Iron step in between us "Ok you two that's enough flirting. I take it you came to pick up your armor and weapons?" She asks going over to the back room and comes out with a wood box. "With nothing to do I got it all done early."

"Sorry about that but she set herself up for it and I did." I say walking over to her work bench to see the final result.

"So hows it look?" She asks happy with her work.

"I love it!" I tell her as I hold up the jacket and look over the weapons.

"Good, now strip I need you to put it one so I can make any adjustments if there are any." She tells me before leaning and whispering "And if you want to mess with mist some more its hard to get her flustered."

I look over my shoulder to her then Mist 'I could its not like Luna or anypony will walk in. But I could get them in trouble if they do.' Thinking about it and weighing my options 'Buck it'. I nod with my back to her.

I walk over to the window closing them then the door and lock it so nopony will walk in. Turning back I see Iron setting out all the part and Mist siting looking nervous. Going to the bench start undoing my belt. Then I pull my shirt up taking my time as I get my wings out. Undoing my skirt I slowly wiggle my hips as I take it off. I looking down at my chest and sigh at my b-cup.

Looking at the table I put on the black cargo pants then the knee high leg guards. Taking the dark purple hooded sleeveless half shirt sliding my wings into the holes in the back. Placing the half chest plate. Picking up the black long sleeve half jacket that fades from black to dark purple at the bottom. I get it on I roll up the right sleeve up to my upper arm and use the strap to keep it in place. Sliding the tactical belt throw the belt loops with pouches I fix it in place.

Wrapping the black fading to dark purple battle skirt on leaving the front open holding it with two more belts. Taking the two crossed kukri sheaths and fix them to the back of the battle skirts belts. Placing the kukris away I put the full arm guard and fingerless gauntlet on my left arm. Finishing with the pauldron that has tribal crescent moon inlaid on it. Flexing my armored hand and arm I check the range of movement. Jumping in place seeing if anything rattles or slipping. Happy with how it feels I turn back for see two slack jawed blushing mares.

Rolling my eyes "It fits nicely and it wont need adjustments." I tell Iron the smiling "So how do I look?"

"I...it...wow." Chuckling at her reaction she finally composes herself "You look good in that." She look over to the slack jawed Mist "I think you broke her?" She says waving a hand in front of Mist's face.

"Oops didn' think that would happen." Walk over and poking Mist in the check "Could I try shockin' her back ta reality?"

"As long as you don't punch her you can try." Iron says taking a step to the side,

Placing my hand under her jaw I close her maw then look in to her yellow eyes and kiss her on the lips. I watch as her eyes get wide just before she falls out of he seat onto her back. We both look down at her to see a goofy grin on her muzzle.

"...." Iron looks at me in silence.

"I had no idea that would happen I swear!" I tell her putting my hands up in defense.

"Pffff...hahahaha" Iron bursts out laughing holding her side.

"What so your not mad?" I ask tilting my head to the side.

"Haha..no your good" She tells me calming down from her laughing fit "I'm never letting her live this down."

"Well I'm goin' ta change out of this then I'll help ya think of a way ta wake her up." I say changing back to my clothes.

Once changed and every thing put back in the box I have a nice chat with Iron on how to wake Mist up. We decided on a bucket of water that we dumped over her head. After chatting with them for a little I head back to my room with the box on my shoulder. Getting to my room I put the box by the armor stand and head to the balcony. I look at the front gate I see a red dragoness and jump off flying full speed at her.

??????? POV

'When was the last time I have bin to Calterlot the nobles still look uptight.' Me and my gurad make are way past the frontgate of the castle. We are greeted by a purple mare and purple and green dragon.

"Greeting, my name is Princess Twilight Sparkle and this is my number one assistant Spike. Were here to welcome you to the castle." The mere named twilight greets use.

"Its a nice to meet you Princess Twilight I-"

"Aunt Scarlet" Somedrak yells at the top of there lungs cutting me of and tackling me to the ground.

"What in Celestia's name are you doing Moon get off her!?" Twilight yells

Looking down I find a familiar filly clinging to me "Mind your own business purple." Yep I know this youngling. Standing up I pull her up to my face "Miss me?" She asks with a big grin.

Looking at all the pony and dragon guards and start laugh shacking my head. "Hello Moon Rune its good to see you to."

"I am so sorry elder I have now idea what shes doing here." Princess Twilight says in a panic.

This filly always finding trouble. "Its fine I haven't seen my niece in ten years or so, this is a good day for me." I tell twilight while holding Moon under my arm. "But as I was saying I'm Elder Scarlet."

"Hello I hope I'm not interrupting?" We all turn to see a smiling Princess Luna.

"Hi Luna, its good to see you. I just got here and we met the new princess."

"I'm happy to see you to Scarlet should we all go see my sister she would be happy knowing you came to see the duels also why is Moon under your arm?" Luna asks

"Ill tell you about it when we see Celestia but I'm holding on to this one till then. Don't need her getting in trouble." Holding up the now pouting filly.

Walking throw the castle the Moon tells me about the last ten yeas but I notice that I have yet to see Freya. Getting to the meeting room were greeted by Celestia, Cadance and Blueblood. Seeing him I can't help scowl till I hear anger growling from Moon 'If he did anything to them he better run.'

"Greetings Elder I see you have met the new resides of the castle." Celestia greets

"Hello" Says Cadance "I do hope you aren't in trouble?" she asks the youngling.

"Knowing that one most likely." Blueblood says with venom in his voice.

Walking up and looking down to him "Do you have a problem with my niece?" Glaring at this pitiful excuse of a male.

"No ma'am" He squeaks out

Brushing past him I smile down at a giggling filly. Sitting down I put her in to my lap because I missed having her around and I'm not to proud to admit it if asked.

"I'm sorry to do this to you Moon but I need you to go with Miss Raven." Celestia tells her

Waving goodbye we all start talking till the rest of the nation leaders show up.

Moon POV

Leaning on the balcony I look at the night sky. 'I wounder what ya would be doing if ya were with us. Ya know about Luna but never told me why?'

*knock knock knock*

I hear somepony at the door but I see Miss Raven getting up to answer it. Looking back to the stark I hear heavy clawed feet coming closer.

Feeling arms lifting me up I look to them "You know you could have come in after the door opened?" Aunt Scarlet tells me.

"I know, but I know it would be ya or Luna or both." Looking to her "So could ya put me down so we can go inside? I think ya might have question."

"I do" She says putting me down.

Back in the room I look around seeing Luna, Celestia, Cadance, and Scarlet but not Raven.

A knock at the door Luna get up and opens it and a maid brings in some tea and coffee before leaving.

"Ok so questions" Luna asks taking a sip of coffee.

"I have a big one." Aunt Scarlet says "I have yet to see Freya could somebeing tell me why?"

Looking down at my cup I give her a answer "Shes not comin' she has passed ta the next world." I say in a somber tone I feel my ears fold back after telling her. I feel her sit down next to me and put her wing over my back.

"I'm sorry. I didn't know" I can hear the sorrow in her voice "How did it happen?"

I tell her what happened and how I got to Canterlot.

"So why did you all come to Canterlot for in the first place?" She asked I just looked over to Luna to tell her.

"As to the reason she was headed to Canterlot that is a bit of a story." Luna says with a sad smile "Freya and I were mates once upon a time. But I fell to the nightmare and after my banishment Tia couldn't find her. Freya found a way to freeze herself in time along with being pregnant with our unborn pup. She re-awoke six years before my return." Luna finished tell Aunt Scarlet.

"How old do you think Freya was scarlet?" Luna looks to scarlet.

"I know her for a long time and I'm only a little under 1500 so I would go with the 50's from how she looked" Scarlet say rubbing her head.

Luna shacks her head "You might think that but you would be wrong." She looks to the now confuesd dragoness "She was 1056. Younger then use but she did act older at times."

"Wow you would never know." Scarlet look to her dink in contemplating.

After some time past talking about what would happen in the future we all go are separate ways for the night.

-Next Day Afternoon-

"Afternoon Moon, ready to start your day." Luna calls from my doorway.

I grown but get up knowing I'll have to go to the arena in about two hours for the duels. Yawning as I enter the kitchen grabbing a bowl of cereal and make some toast.

"So how did your armor turn out? I didn't see it when I went to wake you up?" Luna asks sipping her coffee.

"Good but Oi want it ta be a surprise." I groggily tell her "Oi plan ta leave in about a hour and a half that will give me time ta get ta the arena."

"I'll see you there then how would you like to be introduced?" Looking to me as I think

"Rune just use Rune that should work its still my name and all."

Finishing my food and doing the dishes I head back to my room. In my room I take my armor and uniform lay them out. I put some runes to strengthen it and allow it resize as needed. Done with my armor I unsheathe my knives I carve in some rune circle for channeling magic in them. After I get done enchanting my gear I get dressed.

Before leaving my apartment I use my runes to hide my wings. Moving down the halls I reach the door to the training field. In the hall to the arena I spot all the captains and some of the guards form other lands. Putting on my hood adding adding some magic to change my left eye to mach my right for intimidation as I make my way out towards the field.

3rd POV

Looking over the field the princess of the night sees all the captains and guards from that came with there leaders but still no Moon. The captains wait for the last member to arrive but the princesses decide that the opening ceremony can't wait.

Clearing her throat princess Celestia stands "I welcome you to this years captains duels brave guards and leaders from around Equus. This year will be a little different as was decided yesterday. The guards that are on this field shall be allowed to have duels by challenging the captains before they duel there brothers and sisters in arms."

Before Celestia can continue Luna taps her and points to the hall into the field. Upon looking the princesses, the nations leaders, the guard, and the six form yesterday watch as a figure enters the field. The figure is dressed in a black half jacket that fades in to dark purple at the bottom, a battle skirt with the same colors and two knives on the back. Dark purple half shirt under a dark gray half chest plat. Black cargo pants with dark gray leg armor for the knees down. Left arm in full armor and a pauldron with the design of a tribal crescent moon on it. Right arm with the sleeve rolled up wearing a shackle with runes engraved on it and straps wrapping around the forearm. Wearing a dark purple hood.

Once the figure stops and stands by the rest of the night guard captains Celestia continues "Now if we could have the nations leaders please introduce there guard that will be participating?"

The firs it the king of the minotaurs with his two guards. Then is the griffin king and his five elite guards. After him is the queen of the diamond dogs and her two guards. Followed by the dragon Elder and her guard.

Celestia then introduces her captains "As I call you please step forward. Captain of the guard Gleaming Shield" Gleaming steps forward and bows her head "Captain spitfire of the wonderbolts" Spitfire steps forward and salutes "Captain Flash Sentry" He steps forward and salutes "Caption Iron Wall" Iron steps forward and bows "and lastly Captain Green Leaf." Green steps forward and salutes.

Luna then stands as her sister steps back "Now then would my faithful guard please come forward as called." Taking a pause "Captain of the lunar guard Lunar Light" Light steps up and bows "Caption Night Glider of the shadowbolts" Night steps up and bows "Captain Winter Shield" Winter steps up and bows "Captain Silver Satin" Silver steps up and bows "and finally substitute Captain Rune" Rune steps up and bows her head.

With all the guards announced they went to the sides of the arena. Each of the guest guards put out challenges to the captains the only one that didn't get one was Rune. As the guards started the fights Rune watched the members of the day guard learning there movements.

Royal Box

The leaders of equus watch as the guards duel rooting for there own and some making bet for the winners of each mach.

"Excuse me princess Luna but I have to ask. That last guard that you called do you know her?" A young kitsune asked

"Prince Orin I do she is new. I do know that she was staying in your nation before coming to this one." Luna told the young prince.

Prince Orin looks at the young guard trying to remember if they have meet before. As he was thinking his sister taps him "Yes Kitsuna?" He asked looking at her.

"Aniki do you know her?" Kitsuna asks looking to her brother.

"I don't know but that she looks familiar I just can place it." The young prince tells his sister.

As the duels progress the princesses announce the start of the captains duels.

Arena Floor

Playing with her phone looking at the music Rune hears the end of the forth duel come to a close looking at the score its tied at two win each side. Picking a song she makes her way to the field look at Captain Green Leaf standing on the field. Both captains walk to the center of the field to meet.

Green Leaf look down at Rune "Substitute Captain Rune" She says mockingly holding out her hand.

Rune looked at Greens armor and weapon 'Leather with shoulder guards, gauntlets, and thigh protectors. Shes goin' for speed and with her spear and buckler mid range and light guard' She thinks before taking her hand she shacks it "Captain Green Leaf"

Walking away from each other to the opposite sides of the arena. Green pulls out ten crystals and used then to summons her animals.

Rune raises a brow at the animals "Seven timberwolves, a manticore, a dire bear and a shadow stalker (scorpion with 4 legs and a spear like tail). Sisters ya think we can take them?" Rune asks with a toothy smile to the confusion of the arena and royal box.

Laughing fills the arena as a black bipedal wolf rose from Runes shadow and moves to her left side draping her arm over runes shoulder. Seconds later a second one rose and crouching to Runes right.

"Hehe...sis I think we can." The left wolf giggles

The one crouching looks up at the other two with a smile "I say we show the slag who the top bitch is."

"The buck are those two?!" Green yells from the other side of the field.

"My familiars." Rune tells her "Ya two show the timbers what a real wolf is and keep the stalker busy. I got the bear and manticore. We can save the captain for last."

Royal Box

"She cant make a familiar pact that's dark magic!!" Twilight said looking to her former mentor Princess Celestia.

"That's were you would be wrong Princess Twilight that isn't dark magic it is just really hard to do and can hurt the caster so its a restricted spell in equestrea." Elder Scarlet tells Twilight

"Shes right Twilight its just a restricted spell that's all" Celestia tells Twilight "Come to think about it Philomena is my familiar."

"After this is over could I look at the spell?" Twilight asks

"I don't see why not." Celestia tells Twilight

"So I'm taking bets for the last mach. I have 2000 bit on Captain Rune to win." Elder Scarlet says looking at the other leaders.

"Put me down for 1000 on Rune." Princess Luna says

"500 on Rune to win." Prince Orin says

"I got 50 for Green." Rainbow calls

The other leaders mad bet in favor of captain Green Leaf.

Celestia walked up to the edge of the royal box after betting on her captain. "Now if you are both ready!" Moon and Green nod "When the countdown hits 0 you may start!"

Arena Field

Green Leaf stands sideways in a wide stance knees bent facing left shield up spear held to her side. Her pets stand in front of her. The manticore and bear in the center timbers to the sides and stalker behind her.

Rune faces forward in a wide stance left leg forward right leg back bent ready to charge. She picks a song from her phone maxing the volume sliding it to the edge of the arena. Both Wolves shift in to elemental dire wolves and stand to Rune's left and right.

Just as the buzzer hit 0 music starts playing and the two captions charge each other.

Rune charged straight at the dire bear. The moment the bear is in striking range it brings its claw down full force seeming to cut Runes head off. The Rune that got hit disappeared and the bear felt something grab its throat. The second Rune grad the bears throat she used her forward momentum to slam the back of its head into the arena floor leaving cracks. With the bear dead Rune tuned to the manticore.

The manticore took a swipe with it's claw catching Runes hood pulling it back. Not giving her time the manticore tried to sting her. Dodging the stinger Rune jumped over a paw twisting in the air sending a kick to the manticores side knocking it away. Pulling her knives Rune ran back in cutting its tail off. Rolling under another swipe she slid under the manticore and stabbed into it chest ending the manticore.

Rune look over the field only to see her familiars laying on the ground but no timberwolves. Rune spots Green but keeps her eye out for the stalker.

breathing heavy Green takes the moment to catch her breath. "You know for a filly your not bad. To bad you still have some work to do before you can win against one of use but nice try." She says mocking Rune. Green watches as rune gets ready to fight "Really filly your going to keep going?" Green says readying herself for the next attack.

Royal Box

"I think the young captain has reached her limit." The king if the minitors says

"Is this the same filly that we watched we just watched take down a dire bear and manticore by herself?" twilight says getting the attention of the diamond dog queen

"It would seem some of us are about to win some bits!" The diamond dog queen cheers

"Shes not done yet." Rainbow dash says just loud enough for the box to hear.

The leaders look at each other just before Scarlet starts laughing "Your right shes not I can see it in her eyes."

Arena Field

Green watched Rune start moving and told her stalker to attack. The moment Rune dodged Green rushed her and stabbed her spear through Runes thigh and in the the floor earning a grunt. Rune fell forward on her feet as the stalker appeared behind her and put is tail through her gut. The stalker pulled its tail out causing Rune to vomit up blood. Green walk up pulling her spear out of Rune and backing up so her pet could finish the duel. Standing in front of Rune the stalker stabbed its leg in to her chest.

"Looks like I win the duel." Green smiled till she the sound of laughing got her attention. She looked to the two downed familiars.

"Na the fight just got started." One said chuckling

"Yea ya might wish ta surrender." The other tolled Green

Green looked at her stalker as it pulled its leg out of Runes chest. as she started to fall as a more aggressive song started to play. Runes arms snapped forwards grabbing the stalkers head twisting it 180 degrees with a sickening snap faster than it could react. Green saw Rune looking at her out of the corner of her eyes. Runes eyes made Green nervous like she was no longer fighting another pony but an apex predator.

Rune disappeared in a blur only to reappear right in front of Green. Green barely blocked a heavy hit from Rune with her shield before rune disappeared again. Rune used the shock to get her knives and put them away. Green sees Rune getting her knives and takes the chance to look at her shield only to find four large claw marks denting it. Rune charges Green dodging the spear and grabs her wrist.

Green tries to hit Rune with her shield only for it to be caught by Runs free hand. Hearing growling Green looks at Rune as she lunges for Greens throat reveling vary predatory teeth. Thinking fast Green kicks rune back. Recovering from the kick Rune uses her speed to rush Green sending a flurry of strikes at a speed Green is defenseless to stop. Not giving Green breathing room Rune send a kick at Green hitting her shield.

Making contact with the shield it bends and a loud crack is heard as Green screams and is sent flying to the other side of the field. Rune watches as Green lands and walks over to see if she will try and continue. Green stands back up on shaky hooves using her spear as support her shield falls from her arm reveling that its broken.

Rune stops in front of Green. "Your in no shape ta fight ya should surrender." Rune tells her letting her eyes soften.

Green looked in to Runes eyes breathing heavy "As a guard I should never quit but this is not a really fight. I concede the match." Green tries to walk forward only to fall.

Moving quick Rune catches Green. "You did well today captain." Rune tells her looking up to Celestia.

Seeing that captain Green can't continue Celestia call the match giving the night guard the win. Once the arena spell is activated captain Green Leaf is fully healed. Rune taps Green on the forehead waking her up. Rune returns to the rest of the night guard. The princesses concluded the duels with a closing speech about how all the guard fought with courage and spirit and that they were proud of them all.

Moon POV

I walked to the exit but got forced to follow the captains to the locker room they wouldn't let me leave saying 'It would be unprofessional and reflect poorly if one of the visiting leaders were to run in to me and still covered in blood'. So I'm sitting in the locker room with my arms crossed.

Looking at the others "Why am I here again? It's just blood? I can get ta my room without runnin' in ta anypony."

"I call bs on that. You might be fast but the castle is a maze." One of the day guard calls from the other side.

"What she said." The other six call in unison.

Sighing I strip and throw my stuff in one of the lockers before heading to the shower. Feeling pain in my everything I rub my chest "Should have figured that the fields healing spell wouldn't work." I say under my breath. Turning the water on I make it as cold as I can letting out a sigh as the water hits my fur.

"What in the name of Faust happened to you filly?" One of the guards says.

'Buck I forgot this is a shared shower.' "Just old scars from fightin' durin' my 13 years of travel." I say not bothering to look.

Hearing the sound of hooves getting closer "And the fact that your covered head to hoof in blood?" another asks 'Buck I need ta think fast.'

Turning I look at the others "Ya arn't goin' ta let this go are ya" They all shake there heads. "I didn' think the field spell would leave all the blood. That stalker was a pain and lettin' it stab me was a easy way ta get it close ta me."

"What!?" They all yelled.

"*sigh* Look I know it was stupid of me ta fight knowin' I was goin' ta get stabbed but it worked in the end." I tell the hopping they will drop it.

"Are you out of your tiny mind. You could have bin killed if that was out in the field. The buck!?" Gleaming yells getting into my face.

Silver comes closer and pulls Gleaming back some. "Shes right."

I back up to the wall. "Look ladies I appreciate the concern I do but its going to take a lot ta put me down trust me others have tried." I quickly slap my hands over my muzzle as most of them look at me. Looking I can see I'm still in trouble with Gleaming, Silver, Spitfire and Glider.

"Ok. Ya four lay out your grievance I'm listenin'." I tell them.

"Your reckless." Spitfire says.

"You acted impulsive." Silver adds.

"You limited your mobility by hiding your wings." Glider says getting looks from the other that try looking at my back.

"You put your life in danger and if you got your self killed in the field your family would have bin devastated." Gleaming adds making me feel a little guilty.

"Ok, goin' down the list like I said I'm hard ta kill that has bin confirmed from fighting a rampagin' dragon when I was 5. Yes I fight with my instinct its what I learned from the wolves in the north, the dragons, kitsunes and the night guard training book from a thousand years ago." I got the night guards attention with the last one. "Yes I hid my wings. Would my family me devastated? That I cant answer they may but death ta us is somethin' we don't fear."

Light places a hand on my shoulder. "What was that about a night guard training book from a thousand years ago?" She asks with a creepy smile on her face.

My eyes shrank to pin pricks and quickly hide behind Gleaming making her 'eep' "Save my quick put up one of your shields." I say out of fear of Light as she gets closer to us.

"Wh-what?" Gleaming stutters till she sees the look in Lights eyes "Light what are you doing?" She asks putting a bubble around Light.

Light looks at the bubble. "Hey let me out Moon has a book of old night guard training I was just going to ask to see it." She say smiling innocently.

Seeing Gleaming start to falter I make a break for my stuff looking for my phone before she gets free. Grabbing a towel I dry my hands then wrap it around me before texting. 'Mum save me...guard after me...locker room...help!!!' Quick simple hope it works then I froze. 'Did I just call Luna mum?' I then see Light stepping closer to me.

*pop*

We both look at the sound and see Luna. With every ounce of ungodly speed I have I zip behind Luna and point my finger at Light.

Luna looks at me then narrows her eyes at Light "Light what is happening?"

Light audible gulps. "I was just trying to ask to barrow the night guard book she has that's it."

Luna sighs rubbing the bridge of her muzzle "Ok, Light I know you train my guard but whats in that book is more or less the same as the one we use now without the dangerous training I promise." I raise a brow at that knowing that's a lie because I compared the two.

"Oh my bad Moon" Light says laughing

"Right just don't go creepy like that again and were good." I say drying off and getting dressed leaving my armor. Luna tolled me that a maid would take it to my room.

15 minutes after leaving the arena with Luna in a awkward silence on my part I having gained a kitsune parasite on my shoulders named Kitsuna. We are now in a meeting room with leaders form all over.

I walk up to Orin. "Hello Prince Orin." I say bowing unceremoniously dumping Ketsuna on him. "Ya can have the princess back." I see some of the other leader looking at me funny.

"Ow...Good to see you to Moon-chan but did you have to drop Kitsuna on top of me?" He complained from under his sister.

"But Orin-kun if ya don't go home with her your mother would be mad." I tease him picking Kitsuna up "But really its good ta see ya both." I say giving him a hug.

After greeting the other leaders I discovered they wanted to meet me due to the duels. I keep most of the info about me to my self I don't need the other nations in any of my life other then my extended family. The night went on with chatting and other boring conversations. After all other leaders left I didn't even get out of the door before Luna locked it and went mom mode on me. I don't now why but Luna going angry mom on me reminded me of mother she also grounded me for a week.
