Night of a New Moon

Moon POV

Walking to the down the streets I take another look at the school by-lows marking the pages with a highlighter that I might get called out for violations. Getting to school my first stop is the staff room for my schedule. After the homeroom teacher gave me the schedule she takes me to the classroom. When we arrive she asks me to what in the hall to prep the class.

"You call come in now!" she calls from the class.

"Ok, class I would like you to welcome our new transfer student. Would you please introduce yourself?" She says.

"Moon Rune" I say not really caring 'Its to early in the mornin' for school.'

"All right class dose anypony have any questions before first period starts we have 30 minutes." The teacher asks the class as hand shoot into the air.

"Yes Bow Tie?" She points to a white unicorn colt with pink eyes with black mane and tale.

"How old are you?" Bow asks.

"16"

"Pin Point?" She points to a light orange earth pony filly with blue eyes mane and tale.

"Yes where did you transfer from?" Pin asks.

"The Kitsune empire."

"Miss Fine Thread?" She points to a brown unicorn filly with green eyes blond mane and tale.

"Why are you in a colts uniform?" Thread asks.

"Because I can."

"Ok class lase question. Miss Scroll Work?" She points so a white unicorn filly with yellow eyes violet mane and tale.

"What are you?" Scroll demands more then asks.

"Lunar pegasus same species family as thestrals."

"Ok, now take the open sets in the back then we will start class." The teacher tells me.

Walking to the desk in the back Scroll 'accidentally' knocks her quill off her desk and in my path.

"Excuse me but could you pick that up for me?" Scroll asks in sounding innocent.

I look at her then keep walking "Do it yourself priss." I say passing by her.

Taking my seat I pull my notebook and travel quill out. Getting to the end of class was a pain it was hard to stay awake but taking notes seemed to do the trick. With math class over we have 15 minutes before literature so some of the other students try and ask question. I answer some but keep them vary veguely. During lit I take notes but also let my mind wander how school life was going to be. Looking at my schedule 'Lets see after this its lunch then I have advanced magic theory followed my magic rune works that should be fun.'

When the bell ring I get up to leave class only to find Mist standing in the doorway. "Ya forgot your lunch at home pup." Mist tells me handing me my box lunch.

"Thanks, isn't this your day off?" I ask tilting my head.

Mist shrugs "It is but Iron got called in for work so I'm stuck at home alone. I'll see ya around don't forget ya lunch I cant bring them ta ya with ya in the dorms." She waves before leaving.

"Later" I wave back at her.

"Hay?" Turning to see Scootaloo and two other fillies.

"Can I help ya?" I ask.

"We wanted to know if you would like to get lunch with us?" Scootaloo asked.

"I don't mind but could I get your names?"

"Right sorry. You probable don't remember me from ponyville. I'm Scootaloo."

"My names Apple Bloom. Nice ta meet ya." A yellow earth pony with red mane/tail and orange eyes

"And I'm Sweetie Belle." A white unicorn with pink and light purple mane/tail and green eyes

We all head to the cafeteria getting to know each other. Just as we get to the cafeteria the p.a. go's off. "Will Moon Rune please come to the assistant headmistresses office." We look at each other.

"I'll see ya all later. Scoots ya can have my lunch I'll grab food later." I say handing my lunch to her.

Heading to the office I see Scroll walking form the direction of the staff room. 'She must have done somethin'?' I think passing her as if she was nothing. Out side the office I knock on the door and wait.

"Enter!" I enter and look at the assistant head off the school. "Hello Miss Rune I'm Assistant Mistress Wither." Shes a beige unicorn with light blue eyes gray mane and tale. "Do you know the reason I have called for you?" I shack my head "Well you are in a number of school violation should I list them or do you know?"

I look her in the eyes. "Please do tell."

"Vary well then." She says pulling out some papers. "We'll start with your uniform. First you in the colts uniform. Second you didn't tuck the shirt in. Third your belt is not the stander uniform belt. Forth your suspender are hanging loose. Moving from there your mane if not up to standard and you have not removed the ridiculous number of piercings. Your jacket is in violation of the dress code along with you collar and piercings. Now I will allow you a chance to go to your dorm room and change before you next class. do you have anything to say?"

Standing the with a stone face of a guard. "Yes ma'am I do with permission." I ask.

She raises a brow. "Proceed."

"Thank ya ma'am. With all do respect ma'am but nothing about my uniform, accessories or mane are in violation of the dress code or by-lows." I tell her with all levels of defiance that I have.

She looks at me as if I was joking. "Do you really intend to turn down my offer? I can easily get one of your guardian and the headmistresses hear."

Looking at her without falter. "Please do." I tell then think of something funnier smirking internally. "Actually give me a second ya can add on ta my violations." Pulling my phone out.

"No cell phones during school hours." She says trying to magically take my phone. "What?" She says not being able to take it thanks to a anti magic rune.

*ring* *ring*

"Hello Mist are ya back at the castle yet?"

'Yea why? And why do ya sound like a guard?'

"Well I'm in the vice hm's office for violation could ya please come ta school and bring both princess Celestia and princess Luna?"

'Your lucky I just got to the castle see ya soon.'

*beep*

Putting my phone away I stand back at attention. "The princesses and one of my guardians will be hear soon." I tell her.

Mist POV

*beep*

*sigh* "Only Moon could get in trouble on her first day of school." Laughing as I make my way to Luna's office.

*knock knock* standing by her door "Enter!" I walk into her office "Oh, hello Mist Glave how can I help you on your day off?" She asks me looking up from her paper work.

I give her a half hearted smile. "Well the good news is Moon found a reason to stop doing your paper work."

"Do tell?" She says giving me a mischievous smile.

"She is in the vice's office for violations and asked for ya, your sister and me." I tell her readying myself for the fallout.

She nods "Vary well let us go get my sister then go to the school." She stand and heads to the door.

We head to princess Celestia's office upon arrival the door is open and she is sitting at her desk with a knowing smirk. 'Did she know this was goin' ta happen' I ask myself

"Hello Luna how can I help you today?" Celestia stands making her way around her desk holding a small bag.

"First I think you owe me 30 bit and your doing the rest of my paper work for the week Moon only made it to lunch." Luna smiled holding out her hand.

"Did...did ya two bet ta see how long it would take Moon ta get in trouble at school?" I ask surprised by the princesses.

"We can neither confirm nor deny that." Celestia says "Now shall we go to the school?"

Me and Luna nod as Celestia's horn starts to glow. After a bright flash I find we are at the front gates of the school. Heading into the school anypony that we pass bows to the princesses. Once we get to the staff room Luna knocks on the door be for entering. When the princesses enter Moon snaps to attention the same way a guard would to a co.

The vice smiles seeing the princesses. "Thank you for taking time out of your day princesses and Miss Glave. Do you know why I asked you to the school?"

"We do, young Moons in violation of some of school rules. May we ask the rules she broke?" Princess Celestia asked.

The vice looks over to Moon who has yet to move. "Well lets see her uniform, her mane and her accessories all go against the rules of the school." She says.

I put my hand up to get there attention. "I'm sorry ta interrupt but I don't think any of what ya just pointed out are violations as much as what ya see as wrong." I tell them.

"I have read the book cover to cover so I know whats in it Miss Glave." The vice says pulling a copy out.

Seeing Moon out of the corner of my eye she slides me a copy with pages marked. "Well if I may I have the copy that was sent ta use in the mail after going over it I marked some pages that show that none of the violation are valid." I hold up moons copy and hand it to the princesses.

The princesses look at the book going over the pages.

"Well it seems that Miss Rune's in her full rights with her outfit and appearance. None of the rules have bin broken." Princess Celestia tells the vice.

"But that brings up a question in my mind Miss Wither what made you bring up the violations?" Princess Luna asks.

"A anonymous student brought it to my attention." Wither says looking at her copy of the book.

Moon steps forward. "Permission to speak?"

"You have full discretion." Princess Luna tells her.

Taking a deep breath Moon looks at the princesses. "A student by the name of Scroll Work brought it ta her attention ma'am."

Withers eyes her. "You have know way of knowing that is the student. It could have bin another I see many students during the day"

"Ya would be right but her sent is ta strong she was in your office less then 5 minutes before I entered." Moon points to her nose.

"I highly doubt that." She dismisses the idea.

Luna shacks her head. "You would be wrong her senses are hightened she is to well trained to be wrong."

"Well with this all out of the way you should be headed to you next class lunch is almost over have a good day Miss Rune and Miss Glave." Celestia tells us as we leave.

Once in the hall I hand her book bake. "Your makin' dinner tonight and your lucky I figured out ya plan."

"Thanks for that really I should have just kept ta my norm not act like somepony else." Moon tells me waving goodbye.

Moon POV

Finding the girls we talk a little more before we all head to our next classes. Flipping my hood up I head to my first magic class. Getting to class early I do some reading. Half way throw the book I find I wont be learning anything new in this class so taking notes and answering is all I'm going to have to do. Putting my book down I pull my phone out and plug in my head phones in laying my head down till class starts.

Some time latter I feel a tap on my shoulder glaceing to my left I see a tan unicorn filly with red eyes mane and tale mouthing talking to me so I read her lips. 'Sir could you please move your in my seat and before you ask yes we have assigned seats and I'm the only one in the back so your free to take any of the others.'

Sliding my stuff over two seats I get up and see I'm taller then her. "Sorry about that got ta class early and the teach isn't in class yet so I didn't know and I'm not male." I tell her taking my headphones out and moving. Getting to my new seat I take off my jacket and hang it from my chair.

"Sorry about that it was hard to tell with you in a colts uniform and your hood up." She tells me. "I'm Spell Caster by the way nice to meet you."

"Moon Rune nice ta meet ya two." Thinking for a second. "Question is a filly named Sweetie Belle in this class?"

"No sorry friend of yours?" Caster asks I just nod.

"Oh grate the night freak is sill in school." I look at the pony and lo and behold its Scroll Work.

Grinning I look at her. "Hay its queen bitch herself." Giggling at her reaction. "As ya can see your plan ta get me kicked out failed."

Most of the students in the room stare at us as we face off till the teacher walks into class.

"As most of you can see we have a new class mate. Her name is Moon Rune so you all play nice." The teacher says as we all take are seats.

Sitting in class taking notes I discover that I read farther ahead in the book then needed. Magic theory class isn't all that bad and the teacher found a way to make it all fun. Once class ended I left ignoring Scroll as if she didn't exist.

Finding the rune works class my hand stops just short if the door handle. Looking at it I see rune circle on it made to give a low grade shock. Dispelling the runes then walk into class.

"I'm looking for your teacher?" I ask one of the fillies in the class she points me to a door at the side of the room.

*knock knock knock*

"Its open!" A muffled voice calls.

I open the door just as a vary weak rune circle appears "Hmmm" I hum looking at it then put my hand throw it destroying it. "So should I question why my teacher just tried ta freeze me with ice?" I ask a gray unicorn mare with orange eyes with teal mane and tale.

"Sorry about that. Only my advanced students come to my office I do it to keep them on her hooves." She says "I'm professor Scribble and you must be Moon Rune the new student for my class." Looking at her papers.

"Yea that's me and I'll try not ta come ta your office ta often." I say braking another circle. "And could ya stop that please?"

"Sorry its just your the first student to just brake them the others try to block them." She laughs.

Leaving her office I sit in the back of class. Pulling out a blank note book I start getting ready for class. Reading the class text it hurts my head seeing runes reduced to what they have become.

"Ok, class take your seats before we start we have a new student her name is Moon Rune." She pauses. "Last class we worked on casting while casting under stress." The teacher went over was to keep a calm mind in any situation till the end of class.

Meeting up with the girls after school sweetie asked if me and Scoots could come with her to the fashion club. I cringed but gave in. AB went to the potion brewing club. Scoots didn't join a club none of them held any interest to her. On the way to the club room I see others giving use strange looks. Entering the club I take a look around the place it has everything you would need to make cloths of all types.

Following sweetie we pass by a number of back drops for taking pictures. Some of the other students we using them as others we taking to each other. I spot students modeling various designs. 'I have ta admit some of these fillies are cute.' As I'm looking some of them give me questioning gazes. As we reach sweetie table two fillies come up to us one is a pink pegasus with amber eyes teal mane and tale. The other is a pale violet unicorn with brown eyes peach mane and tale.

"Hi girls!" Sweetie say to them. "Scootaloo, Moon Rune this is my team Silk Wing and Fine Thread. Silk, Thread this is Scootaloo and Moon Rune."

"Sup"

"Hi" Scoots says.

"Hello" Silk waves.

"Nice to meet you." Thread says.

Scoots looks at the work space and the cloths on the racks. "So um.. Sweetie you going to tell use why you asked us to come with you?"

"Right you know those conventions ponies dress as fantasy characters?" Sweetie asks look at the cloths rack.

Scoots nods. "Yea but I've never bin to any." Then looks at me.

"Don't look at me I may read books but I've never heard of them."

"That's fine but I was hoping you two could model for us. We have bin working hard but I cant find anypony that would look good as some of the characters." She looks at use with pleading eyes.

I look at her rolling up my left sleeve. "Ya do know I'm littered with scars right?"

"It will be fine some of the characters are warrior based." Sweetie holds up a prop sword.

"*sigh* If Scoots is in I'm in." Looking at scoots.

"Ok, Ill do it!" she says throwing her hands in the air.

We spent two hours dressing up posing and having pictures taken. It wasn't to bad Scoots was a good sport about me getting most of the male characters. I told Sweetie I would swing by tomorrow in my uniform so she can take a look at it. Before me and Scoots left Sweetie gave Scoots her uniform for guard class tomorrow. Scoots took me to the dorms then went to her room.

"Hello you must be the other new resident of the dorm I'm the dorm mother Sweet Dreams." a mare says holding out her hand.

I shack her hand. "Yea I'm Moon Rune. Could ya tell me were ta go please."

she looks at some papers on her desk. "You are on the second floor room 105. You are in a shred room with 3 other fillies but you all have your own rooms." She says handing me a key. "Just head up a floor and follow the numbers."

"Thanks" I wave and head to my room to meet my room mates and make a door linking to my rooms.

Finding the door i use the key to unlock it and find nopony. I go over to the only open door in the dorm and unpack my stuff and work on link it at the castle. Making multiple layers rune enchantments. I finish the door and close. I hear keys in the main door but continue with what I'm doing.

"Scoots were home have the new roommate arrived yet?!" Sweetie yells.

As Sweetie and AB enter the main room I wave. "Hi I'm your new roommate." Then go back to work.

"Wow I didn' see this comin'." AB said waking over to one of the doors and knocks. "Scoots come say hi to the roommate."

Scoots comes out off her room. "I didn't know that she wa-" She stops seeing me.

I chuckle. "Yea welcome ta a world of surprises." I say finishing the door. "Done."

"Done? Done with what?" Sweetie asked.

"Just watch." I point to my empty room with just a bed then close the door placing my hand on a small rune, then open it to see my room in the castle. "Yep that worked." I looks to the slack jaws of the girls "I'll explain." I explain the best I could not knowing if they understood or not. "Ya got it?"

"Yes" they say

"Good if ya need me and I'm not in the main room of the dorm just knock with the door linked I will hear. In case of a emergency use this rune key ta open the door." I pull a key from my pocket and hang it by the bookcase. "I'll see ya all tomorrow."

I made dinner for Mist and Iron. After dinner went back to my room and sit at my desk and did my homework. Packing my bag for tomorrow I then dropped for the night.
