Spoiled Rotten, Diamond Rough
4: Hearts
Previous ChapterNext ChapterSpoiled’s laughter made it hard to keep her hooves still, and Diamond herself was no better off. She nearly dropped the key. “I can’t believe you broke the hook.”
“I broke the hook!” her mother cackled. “Oh, honey, chalk it up to the heat of the moment.” She fought to steady herself and regain her composure. “What a moment it was,” she said finally. “Thank you, honey.”
The key slipped into place, but she hesitated. “I don’t know if you should be thanking me.” The cuff finally sprang free of her hoof, leaving a darkened, indented ring in her mother’s coat.
The hoof immediately gripped her daughter’s. “You were wonderful,” Spoiled assured her. “Tonight was everything I’d ever hoped it would be.”
Diamond looked down at the pillows—away from her mother’s matted mane and sticky throat and the other beautiful stains she’d left behind—as she unlocked the other cuff and let them fall beside the bed. “I’m glad you had fun.”
“Fun?” Spoiled burrowed into Diamond’s chest. Di sank down onto her back and her mother slipped into place beneath her foreleg. “I had two orgasms.” She threw all four legs into the air. “Two!”
In spite of herself, Di giggled at the sight. A different kind of warmth spread through her, a fondness and a protectiveness that she couldn’t just chalk up to the afterglow. Her mom was her mom, no matter how bad things got at times… and no matter how weird things might become.
Di squeezed her gently. “I’m sorry, Mom,” she sighed. “I didn’t know it would be like this. I really messed up.”
“I’m not sorry, Diamond.” She looked down to see her mom smiling up at her. The spirals had all but faded to a marbled sheen of pink and blue, but her love for her daughter was as strong as ever. “I’m surprised, and perhaps confused, but I’m not sorry. I may be your mother, Diamond, and you may be my daughter, but I am a grown mare. You’re a grown mare too, Diamond—a strong and bold and sexy young mare, at that…”
“Mom,” Di groaned, but she blushed all the same.
“...and I love you, Diamond, and I trust you.” She kissed her daughter’s bicep and closed her eyes. “Your father has given me plenty of diamonds, but you are the most precious of them all.”
The grip of an icy claw tightened around her heart. “Love you, Mom,” was all that she said.
Spoiled might never have shown it, but she knew her daughter well. “What’s wrong, Diamond?” she asked. “Do you still think I only feel this way because of some potion?”
Diamond’s forelegs tightened around her mother’s shoulders. “We need to tell Daddy,” she whispered.
Her mom grunted. “He has quite a surprise waiting for him.”
Diamond held her in silence. Spoiled’s smile slipped away as time passed them by. She looked up into her daughter’s eyes to see them sparkling with tears. “Please don’t split up because of me,” Di whispered. “I don’t know what I want, Mom, but it’s not that. I don’t want to ruin what you two have.”
“Ruin it? Oh, I don’t know,” Spoiled murmured, her smile returning. “He might just be proud of you. Play your cards right and you could teach him a thing or two.”
Diamond choked on a sob and felt a throb between her legs. “He what?” she yelped, her worries forgotten.
Spoiled snickered and kissed her daughter’s chest. “Don’t worry, Diamond,” she said. “It’s been far too long since he’s brought me a beautiful girl to play with, but he won’t have forgotten how much fun it can be for him.” She paused as her face lit up with the joy of reverie.
“Is he one of those…” She glanced to the side again, where her father slept. “…cuckolds? Is that the word?”
“Oh, no,” her mother said dismissively.
“Ah.” A small part of her was disappointed by the news. “Okay.”
“I’m the cuckquean in this house—or would be, if he had the brass to sleep around like he used to.”
Suddenly Diamond noticed that her mom was studying her with a little too much interest, even considering the evening they’d just shared. She laughed nervously, filed that last revelation under “process later, with cider”, and tried not to think too much about what her Daddy might say when he came home… or what he might do.
“You know, Diamond, if you want…” Her mother reached up to hold the forearm wrapped around her. “Perhaps it’s not where you expected your life to take you, and I’ll understand if it can’t last forever, but…”
Di rubbed a hoof up and down her mom’s foreleg. “Yeah, Mom?”
“Would you like to join us?” She rolled onto her back and tipped her head back with an expectant smile, cuter than any other girl with whom Di had shared such an intimate moment. “Your father and me?”
“Join you?”
Her mom nodded. “This is not the first time the idea to add to the family has come up, but you’re the first mare I’ve truly want to do it with. If I know Filthy Rich—and I know Filthy Rich—I think your father might also like to make our twosome into a…”
Her length twitched against her thigh. “A threesome?” she stammered.
Spoiled giggled like a filly in the schoolyard. “Give him a moment to adjust before we jump straight to that,” she said, “but yes.”
She tried to ignore yet another surge from below. Damn Draft. How can a pony focus with that much “confidence”? “I don’t know, Mom. I’m his daughter! He isn’t going to want anything to do with this. Right?”
Spoiled lowered her eyelids and lifted her brow.
Di’s ears fell back. “R-right?”
“I do love your father, and he loves me… and we love you, Diamond. Do you want to take that bond to the next level?”
Diamond rubbed her forehooves together. It really was nothing like she’d expected. She’d thought she’d find a political up-and-comer to team up with for life, or maybe a lovely young track star like Scoots. She thought she’d have years to find someone who loved her as much as her Daddy did and cared as much as her Mom, but… Well, maybe she already had both of those things.
“This really is a surprise, isn’t it,” she said carefully, “but… Yes, Mom. I want to give it a shot.”
Spoiled smiled once more, and it made her even more beautiful than ever. She nuzzled her cheek into her daughter’s shoulder. “Yay.”
“But let’s deal with world-shattering revelations one at a time, okay, Mom? I’ll talk to Daddy tomorrow and we’ll see what happens. For now…” She stroked her mane, between her ears. “Just relax. Isn’t that what today was supposed to be?” Diamond looked into her mother’s eyes. “Our own little spa day.”
Spoiled’s head lolled back and her eyelids fluttered. She cooed and melted against her daughter’s shoulder. When they opened again, her eyes were a familiar pink and blue and devoid of emotion. “Thank you, Diamond.”
Diamond beamed at her mother. “Neat,” she chuckled. “I’ll have to remember that.”
“I’m sleepy, Diamo—” The rest was swallowed up by a yawn that even Spoiled and her perfect manners were too tired to hide behind a hoof.
“I bet you are.” Di hid a yawn of her own and rolled over, one hoof over the edge of the bed like always. “Ready for tomorrow? I’ll make us a big breakfast.”
Spoiled pressed her nose into Diamond’s shoulders and her foreleg slid over her daughter’s belly. “Mhm.” The sound warmed the back of Di’s neck.
After a moment Di pulled her hoof up and cradled it to her chest. She glanced down at the leg around her, then rolled over and wrapped a hoof of her own around her mother. “I love you, Mom.”
“I love you too,” she whispered.
“Oh, and… Mom?”
A grunt was the best she could offer.
“I’m signing you up for a meditation class.”
Spoiled hummed and nosed her chest, already losing herself to slumber.
Di lay awake for some time. There was no way of knowing what the new day would bring—aside from an itchy coat, of course. Whatever came of it, though, Diamond knew for certain that all would be well. The walls between mother and daughter had come down. Whatever her mom needed to be happy, Diamond would find it for her, or be it, if her mother was right about Daddy.
She slipped her other hoof around her mother’s head and pulled her close to her chest. “You’re welcome, Mom,” she said, “and thank you too.”
Spoiled wrapped her thighs around one of Di’s calves and purred.
Di buried her nose in her mother’s crown and drifted away.
