When Laughter Finds a Loner
3. Drinking in the Comfort of Home
Previous ChapterNext ChapterMaud helped Pinkie into the house and she was still so very relieved that Pinkie's confession didn't reach Wallflower's ears. "More whiskey, Maud." Pinkie's soft voice sounded very somber and Maud rolled her eyes. She gave Pinkie a shot of whiskey and Pinkie downed the shot in mere seconds.
"What the hell, Pinkie?" Maud demanded of Pinkie. Pinkie sighed as she knew that the shot of whiskey was probably going to make her drunker than she already was.
"What? I can't help the fact that I find her beautiful." Pinkie tells Maud and Maud actually showed an shocked expression. "Why are you so shocked?" Pinkie asked Maud.
"I was asking about why you downed that shot in two seconds, Pinkie Pie. I don't mind the fact that you love Wallflower Blush, although, how long have you known her?" Maud asked, trying to see if Pinkie wasn't getting obsessed over the girl.
"2 months at max." Pinkie answered with a frown on her face. Two months is sometimes enough to fall in love. That was what I was told, anyway. Pinkie thought as she didn't know the proper time period to fall in love with someone.
"That sounds about right." Maud's answer made Pinkie look at her in surprise. "You know I care about you, Pinkie and yes, that is the proper time to fall in love with someone you know and enjoy being around them." Maud gave Pinkie advice, letting her know to think. Was it a drunken confession or was I just dreaming about falling in love with her? Pinkie wondered to herself.
Seeing that Pinkie was taking the time out to think about recent events, Maud smiled and she made another mixture of apple cider and whiskey and she gave it to Pinkie Pie. "Thanks, Maud, you're the best." Pinkie thanked Maud for everything.
"No problem." She gave Pinkie her normal resting face and despite her flat face, Pinkie knew that Maud enjoyed her praise and she also knew that Maud was telling her that she was willing to hear her problems whenever she needed to talk to her.
"I love you, Maud." Pinkie spoke to her older sister and Maud smiled at the words.
"I love you too, Pinkie Pie." Maud responded. She then heard the snores from Pinkie and she rolled her eyes playfully. Silly girl. She thought as she closed the door to Pinkie's room. "That girl is going to have one hell of a hangover tomorrow. Thankfully, it will be Friday." She whispered as she went into the kitchen to fix Pinkie a midnight snack, knowing that she will be hungry later in the night.
The next morning, Pinkie Pie was up and eating the cupcake Maud had baked just for her. She enjoyed Maud's cooking, even if she wasn't very good at it. Pinkie just appreciates the gesture as she knows that Maud could have just brought her a cupcake, but no, she decided her to bake her a batch of cupcakes. Pinkie knew that for a thank you, she would have to cook Maud her favorite dinner tonight. She was ready for school; she was just thinking if she was going to walk or take a bus to the school. She then remembered that Wallflower walked to school and she tends to the flowers before school as well. She then decided that she was going to walk to school as well. "Have a great day, Pinkie." Maud greeted Pinkie and Pinkie smiled at Maud. Because Pinkie had finally stop to think, her head was pounding and she reacted accordingly. "Shit." She hissed as her hangover was kicking her in the ass. She knew that hangovers were bad as she had plenty of them, but this one takes the cake. Pinkie straightened herself up and she groaned as she walked to school. Already, her morning was making her grouchy and she hated being grouchy. She was the embodiment of Laughter for goodness sake! She couldn't afford to be grouchy.
"Thanks! You have an awesome day!" Pinkie shouted in happiness and Pinkie could have sworn that Maud had grinned at her, at least, a little. Maud knew that Pinkie had a hangover, which was why it took her a while to respond to her. Maud hoped that Pinkie had a great day because she knew how bad Pinkie can get when she has a hangover and on top the hangover, she has a crush on another girl. Maud hoped that Pinkie would survive the school day without getting detention. She didn't want to have to go up to the school to talk to Pinkie. That...would end pretty badly. Maud winced when she remembered having to do that one day. Pinkie was just a freshman then, but when she gets angry, she gets vicious. Maud shook her head from that memory. That was an accident. Pinkie Pie wouldn't have done that on purpose, but to cut her own hand was a feat when she was mentally unconsciousness. Maud thought as she knew that Pinkie was strange, but her mannerisms scared even her. She didn't want to go through that again. She loved Pinkie too much to put her through intensive therapy.
As Pinkie started her walk to school, her mind started to drift off into Crazyland, the place that Pinkie named in her mind. It really was crazy as her thought process was a mixture of things and sometimes, even Pinkie herself didn't know what she thinks about. As she thought about things, her hangover prevented her from thinking too much and Pinkie hated it as her head ached from her drinking too much last night. She cursed herself for doing that to herself. One of these days, I will damage my lungs from drinking spiked apple cider. Pinkie couldn't believe how far she had fallen in terms of coping with things happening in her life. She knew that it wasn't healthy, but she still drinks. When she saw the building of Canterlot High, she sighed as she already wanted another drink to deal with the stress of school life. She then slapped herself. Bad Pinkie Pie! No more drinking today. You already have a hangover! Pinkie reminded herself of her hangover, which seems to getting worse as more teenagers starting to pile up at the front of the school. Pinkie automatically went towards the garden of the high school to see if Wallflower Bush was located there at the moment. To her relief, Wallflower was tending to the flowers and Pinkie stayed in the same spot she was at the order day in order to watch Wallflower work. Wallflower the pink, curly hair from the corner of her eye and she grinned, despite herself. She really enjoyed Pinkie Pie's company as the party girl had an understanding and quiet side to her as her blue eyes stayed trained on the green-haired girl. "How was your night, Pinkie?" Wallflower spoke to the girl.
Pinkie grinned and then she winced, her grin falling into a pained grimace. "It was good, but now, I'm suffering from a hangover at the moment." Pinkie was honest with the girl as she had caught her drinking on school's property.
"Do you have medicine for it?" Wallflower asked Pinkie, worried about the friendly pink girl. Pinkie smiled at her and Wallflower knew that Pinkie was respectfully ignoring the question in her own style and she nodded her head in understanding. She knew that Pinkie didn't want anyone to know about her drinking habit and she respected that.
"Ugh! Where is Pinkie Pie? We're supposed to have practice!" Rainbow Dash was getting impatient, but everyone that wasn't Rainbow Dash knew what Pinkie Pie does when she's home.
"Dashie, she may be suffering from a hangover right now." Fluttershy spoke to her rash girlfriend, who looked at her in shock.
"Pinkie drinks?" She asks Fluttershy, who sighed. Rarity and Applejack signed. Sunset Shimmer shivered as she seen it happened.
"Ever since freshman year." Rarity answered Rainbow Dash's question in order to satisfy her curiosity.
"But, why?" Rainbow asked the group of friends.
"Reasons that are personal." Pinkie and Wallflower answered at the same time. Sunset and the others watched Wallflower tend to Pinkie as they were very close to one other. Sunset noticed the two blushing at how close they were to each other and she inwardly smirked. Fluttershy smiled at Pinkie and she grinned back. As much she was in pain, she was always thankful for Fluttershy's ability to speak through her eyes.
"How was your night, you two?" Sunset asked, being serious, but her question made both Pinkie and Wallflower blush regardless. She was now very curious about what had happened yesterday, but she knew that neither of them will tell her, especially if Pinkie was blushing.
"It was good." Pinkie took the time to speak to Sunset and her group of friends and her eyes narrowed at Sunset. Sunset silently gulped as that meant that Pinkie needed to talk to her about things later on. She was the mother of the group, but she could easily ask Fluttershy. Pinkie eyed Wallflower and Sunset noticed how her gaze was on Wallflower's legs and she made sure to look at Pinkie's reactions. She wants her. She thought, not shocked, but pleasantly surprised about Pinkie hitting puberty as last. "I'll see you later, same time?" Pinkie asked Wallflower.
Wallflower had a smile on her face. "Of course." She answered and Pinkie smiled softly at Wallflower. The green-haired left with Pinkie's eyes never leaving her figure until she was fully gone from sight. I'm such a pervert. Pinkie thought as she felt a grin form on her face.
"Oh." Rarity's teasing voice reached her ears and Pinkie's ears turned red when she noticed how Rarity was looking. "You are a teenager, aren't you?" She asked Pinkie and Pinkie's entire body was so red, Rainbow would compare the redness on Pinkie to a fire hydrant, but as she did that, she was wondering why Pinkie was so embarrassed. Wanting to have sex is normal. Rainbow Dash thought, but with every one looking at her in shock, she figured that her thought became her words.
"Oops. Did I say that out loud?" She asked, chuckling to herself. Rainbow glanced at Fluttershy and the pink-haired girl was a little irate at her girlfriend and she was worried for herself for a moment, but Fluttershy grinned at her. Rainbow inwardly breathed a sigh of relief at seeing that Fluttershy wasn't angry at her. Rainbow wouldn't know what to do if Fluttershy was angry at her. Rarity noticed how the two were acting and she shook her head. She couldn't believe Rainbow sometimes and she knew that Fluttershy was embarrassed for Rainbow and she turned to see how Fluttershy was holding up. To her expectations, Fluttershy was bright red and she playfully rolled her eyes at her friend. She couldn't believe how embarrassed that Fluttershy and her embarrassment made Rarity stop to think. Unless, they did it. She thought as she stared back at Fluttershy and Rainbow.
"Babe, I'm sorry." Rainbow hugged Fluttershy, who was wanting to slap her.
"Should have just said we had sex. Would that have made you feel better?" Fluttershy asked Rainbow Dash and Rainbow knew that she had embarrassed Fluttershy very badly.
"I'm sorry, babe. I didn't mean. I say things that I'm thinking, you know it's not on purpose." Rainbow tells her.
"I know that but next time, please control yourself." She begged of the rainbow-haired girl, who promised her lover that she would be extra careful next time. Rainbow loved Fluttershy and she knew that neither of them was ready to come out to the entire school about what they do in the dark and their relationship wasn't a secret to their friends anymore. "You outed our relationship to our friends." Fluttershy reminded Rainbow, who chuckled.
"Right. I will be careful, Shy." Rainbow tells her pretty girlfriend. She never wanted to hurt her feelings, accidentally or purposely as Rainbow would hate herself for doing that to Fluttershy. She didn't want to ever disappoint her as she loved Fluttershy so much to even dare to try to disappointment her.
"Please do that because you know how people are. They talk and rumors will spread." Fluttershy warns Rainbow about rumors as the teenager knew how damaging rumors can be, even if they are true. Fluttershy likes her personal business to be her own business unless she actually tells someone her business of her own free will. Rumors can be destructive. Fluttershy thought as she knew the dark side about rumors as she knew that rumors were never good if they were used to damage someone's reputation. Whiskey sounds good about now. She then thought and then, she shook her head as if it would get rid of the dark thoughts she was thinking about. No! I won't be like my mother once again. I promised Rainbow Dash and myself that I won't do down that path. Fluttershy feared the effects of alcohol, which was why she stayed from it. Rainbow drunk whiskey and vodka moderately. The only times she would go too far is if she is at a party and even then, she makes sure that she is safe. If she is going to be sick, she makes sure that she has Applejack picking her up and she would have her call Fluttershy to tell her Rainbow's location for the night.
Twilight is the only girl of the group that haven't had anything stronger an a cola. Even Fluttershy tasted alcohol and she was also dating the school's strongest female jock on campus: Rainbow Dash. So Fluttershy has more experience than the school's gentle and shy nerd. Fluttershy would like to keep Twilight from tasting even stronger than a soda until college as she didn't want Twilight to be addicted to the drug. Fluttershy was addicted to alcohol, once upon a time, which was why, now she stayed away from it. She didn't want to go down that path once again. It took a long road to recovery and Fluttershy wasn't ready to open Pandora's box once again. Fluttershy knows what is it like to grow up knowing that her mother is an alcoholic. She also knew that Pinkie Pie was an alcoholic, but Pinkie didn't have to rob a store for money or beer as Maud brought it for her. Maud warned Pinkie about getting arrested for being drunk in public, which is why Pinkie drinks where she knows that she would be safe.
It was now lunch time and Pinkie was ready to talk to Sunset about her questions. When she had seen her friend, she slowly approached her. When Sunset noticed the way Pinkie was approaching her, she smiled softly. "Are you alright, Pinkie?" She asked as she had plenty of time to figure out if she was actually upset about something. Sunset knew that Pinkie wasn't upset, but she was curious about a few things.
"Yes, but I...is it normal to want to have sex?" Pinkie's question made Sunset choke on the butter and jelly sandwich she had made herself for lunch. Did I hear her right? She thought as she looked at Pinkie with a look of shock.
"Repeat that, Pinkie." Sunset tells Pinkie. Pinkie sighed as she sat down next to Sunset in the lunchroom.
"Is it normal to want to have sex?" She asked. This time, her tone soft and now shy. She is acting all shy now. Sunset thought it was cute, having Pinkie as the role as the baby sister, who is easily embarrassed by the topic of sex. Sunset felt like a proud mom, even though Pinkie was one of her best friends. Sunset's smile softened as she noticed how nervous Pinkie was getting at her unanswered question.
"Of course, it's normal to want to have sex." Sunset answers Pinkie's question. Pinkie gave Sunset an expression of shock and it made Sunset be the confused one now. Did she not get the sex talk from her family? She wondered. "Pinkie, have you ever had the sex talk being given to you?" Sunset asked to make sure. Pinkie gave her an cute yet confused look and the look on her face made Sunset glad that Pinkie had never felt the need to have sex with a guy as she was sure that she would go to jail for murder. She couldn't believe that Pinkie had never gotten the sex talk, but she knew Maud long enough that she knew that the rock-loving girl probably didn't know how to word sex to her sister. She also knew that Maud probably trusted Sunset Shimmer herself to tell Pinkie about sex. Sunset blushed as she realized that it was up to her to tell Pinkie about it. I'm so about to ruin her innocence. Sunset thought as she started to talk to Pinkie about sex.
At the end of the talk, both Sunset and Pinkie were red, but Pinkie was more redder. "So in order to get pregnant, a guy has to put his dick inside of a girl's vagina?" At Sunset's nod, Pinkie fainted. Sunset caught Pinkie and she was shocked that Pinkie had fainted. Is that why she likes girls? She wondered as she held Pinkie close to her. Gah! I just ruined her innocence and I am NOT proud! Why am I proud of the fact that I've told her about sex?! I would have just told her about how two girls or two guys have sex. Sunset thought as she watched over the fainted form of Pinkie Pie. As Sunset mentally scolded herself for not telling Pinkie about the lesbian sex, Pinkie had woken up from her fainted nap. When Sunset noticed how Pinkie was looking at her, her face went bright red.
"I'm sorry, Pinkie, but Maud wanted me to tell you." Sunset tells Pinkie, who looked over at Sunset.
"Really?" She asked, her voice shy and quiet. Sunset rubbed the back of her neck in embarrassment. She truly did not want to be the one to tell Pinkie anything about sex, but Maud trusted her enough to give Sunset her permission to teach Pinkie about the ways of sex. "That sister of mine. She was probably shy to tell me about it." Pinkie says as she pulled out a bottle of spiked apple cider. Sunset started to lightly scold Pinkie about her drinking habit.
"Pinkie, that is not good for you. You've came today suffering from a hangover." Sunset spoke softly as she didn't want to startle Pinkie. Pinkie glanced at Sunset and she glanced at the bottle in her hand. Suddenly feeling a little sick, she placed the bottle back into her book bag.
"Thank you, Sunset." Pinkie spoke with a small smile on her face. Sunset nodded her head at Pinkie. She didn't want Pinkie to hurt herself with the drinking habit she obviously had for a long while.
