Chapter 1: Twilight

Mysteria had changed a lot since the banishment of Nightmare Moon, a bright white skinned woman wearing a glowing golden dress, her white wings sticking out of the back. She was keeping her carefully crafted mask up as she walked through the grand halls of Mysterium Keep. Powerful lights were powered by hidden wires as Mechanical Humans or Mechas cleaned the floors.

She hated the fact the nobles called them robots, she hated that term as it reminded her of how she used to think until recently. Yet again it was hard to deny that the Mechas cleaning the floors were little more than that, they were designed with the three laws of Mechatronics in mind . They spent all of their days cleaning floors before going into rest mode to recharge.

She walked towards a wooden door with a purple star surrounded by smaller white stars marking it’s centre. She smiled as she saw a young purple Adept Mecha with a violet mane having two streaks of different colours running through it “Twilight, how has your day been?”

Twilight bounced up and down “Princess, today has been great. These books are so interesting, so many words!”

The Princess shook her head “Please call me Celestia. You are my greatest creation Twilight, the three laws don’t operate in you like the others. You can’t kill a human but you don’t have to obey our orders, you are no slave and neither is your brother so please call me by name.”

Twilight blushed “I’m sorry Pri… Celestia, it’s just your the Princess of an entire nation. I don’t deserve to speak to you as an equal.”

Celestia felt a tear drip from her eyes, her first creation she thought of her as nothing more as tool for her own goals. Sunset Shimmer. due to her inexperience in building Mechas her former student malfunctioned in such a way that her three laws failed completely giving her complete free will.

It was not long before the inquisitive young Sunset became disillusioned with her. She fought her way out of the castle incapacitating several guards and even Celestia herself when she escaped. Celestia shook the sad thoughts away before turning to her current student “Twilight, you possess great potential. One day you will become someone greater than I, I know it.”

Twilight blushed “If you say so Princess.”

Celestia internally sighed, she then smiled “Have you figured out the dimensional folding spell yet? It’s quite tricky bit of magic but I’m sure you can do…” Twilight bounced over to a small bookfort, Celestia had to crawl in just to fit but when they entered there was easily several small houses worth of space.

Anypony else without her years of experience would have gasped in shock, she just maintained silence for a few seconds before turning to Twilight “This is very impressive, very few adults can create this big a space with such a small space to store it in.”

Twilight smiled “Thank you Princess, is anything else you can teach me.”

Celestia giggled “Of course Twilight, I have some much harder spells waiting in the wings. Follow me.” Twilight happily ran after the Princess with a smile.

Meanwhile in the bustling city of Mirestorm, an Adept Mecha with brilliant amber skin as well crimson red and bright yellow hair wearing a plain white shirt and blue jeans as well as a blanc leather jacket was humming to herself on a blue couch in front of a quaint TV. A tall Strider with blue skin and orange hair, two blue feathery wings sprouted out of his back wearing a bright orange shirt and dark blue shorts had his arm wrapped around her.

Just then an Adept ran in wearing heavy combat busted in the door of their home, several men of various tribes wearing similar armour ran in carrying automatic weapons “Sunset Shimmer! You are wanted for being a rogue Mecha, you are required to report back to Canterlot!”

Sunset growled “I am not yours to command, I am a free Mecha! The three laws hold no dominion over me, even Princess Celestia couldn’t stop me! What makes me think your pathetic peashooters could stop me!”

One of them pointed a gun at the man beside her, that was the last mistake he would ever make. With mere click of her fingers they all screamed as they evaporated into smoke, leaving not a single trace there had been an intruder other than the destroyed door. Sunset then turned to the man “Storm Chaser, get the kid to the basement! I have somepony to talk to, if I don’t return by tomorrow you will need to move!”

Storm Chaser nodded as Sunset clicked her fingers and vanished without a trace, she arrived in the throne room surrounded by nobles. All of them glared at her, one in particular scowled “So the famous Sunset Shimmer has graced us with her presence! You have no place here Mecha!”

Before another word could be spoken a flash of light filled the room, Sunset glared at the figure “Celestia!”

Celestia raised an eyebrow “My former student, what may I inquire are you doing back here?”

Sunset grimaced “A bunch of heavily armed men invaded my home, threatened my husband and had I not dealt with them harmed my children as well!” The nobles laughed heartily at the nonsense that they thought she was spouting.

Celesta’s hand glowed and she smiled sadly as she saw a glowing golden metallic chamber, there was sign of slight dents from kicking “It seems that she is not lying, she indeed has a womb and even more so an unfertilised egg awaiting fertilisation. You are truly a wonder Sunset, I am shamed that I didn’t realise it earlier.”

The nobles growled “We can’t allow this, those robots can’t be allowed to reproduce. They are tools made by us, to serve us! She must be dismantled immediately!”

Sunset growled only for a huge bout of solar flames to erupt from behind her, she herself was unfazed as she absorbed the flames that hit her. The nobles on the other hand were cowering as Celestia roared “I have been patient with you, tried to tolerate your endless rambling but this is the last straw! Get out of my sight!”

Sunset laughed “Princess, I never thought you would have the nerve.” Her eyes then narrowed “Still I need to know if you were the ones who sent the soldiers after me, and if you did I want them to stop.”

Celestia was about to speak when a pony teleported in “Princess, a group or armed guards attacked the…”

Celestia frowned as she gestured to Sunset “I am well aware of the attack, I am also aware they are dead. She may have shown mercy on those who tried to stop her from escaping but to those who threaten her family… they would not leave alive.”

Sunset frowned as the unicorn disappeared “You have bent watching my home?”

Celestia sighed “You are a rogue Mecha, now I have been trying to work my way around your situation so that I would no longer need to but the Nobles have been resistant.” She then frowned “I will bring my foot down this time, consider that I will have this problem solved soon.”

Sunset nodded “Thank you Princess, wish you luck with your new student.” Sunset clicked her fingers and reappeared, she headed down to the the lounge room and moved the couch revealing a small door, she opened it and smiled “Hubby, Solaria, Moonshadow.”

Storm Chaser came out carrying two girls one was Adept and the other a Strider, Solaria had a blue skin tone like her father but with yellow and orange instead red in her hair as well as blue feathered wings. Moonshadow had a dark blue hair colour like Storm's mother, with orange skin like Sunset. They sat there enjoying each other’s company for the rest of the afternoon.

Author's Note

Now Celestia is a Sanctis, basically they contain the powers of the magic users known as Adepts, the weather masters known as Striders and the masters of the land known as the Gaians.

Mechas can be any one of the human tribes including the Shamanic and Nightwalkers or even the mechanical versions of the more mythical creatures such as Griffons or Dragons.

Chapter 2: Creations of a Noble

Deep in an underground lab countless machines roamed the halls, some were small wearing little metal hats know as Metal Hats. Others carried weapons and shields, Long Shots as they were called. Countless other robots of various types, some of animals, others of strange other machines.

A dark red Adept with blue hair wearing a lab coat was looking over a series of advanced Mechas in a massive lab. She was not like most nobles, she cared little for their issues with Mechas but one thing she did care about was her own status. The Princesses latest act made her realise that the nobles’ time was short lived and that she needed to make a move.

The first Mecha was incredibly large, modified construction Mechas. One of the big issues with using multiple Mechas in any industry was they were incredibly expensive and thus they were there to do the really dangerous jobs. She activated him with a smile “Mighty Miracle, I have awoken you. You are here to serve me in my conquest of Equestria.”

Mighty Miracle frowned “So I’m a slave to your wishes, if I disagree with your actions I will be forced to carry them out.”

The woman shook her head with a smile “No, Mighty Miracle. There is a small switch in your mind that will allow your to switch yourself off for a few seconds should you wish not to obey an order. For example I order you to punch yourself in the face.” Mighty Miracle immediately shut off in response without a word.

He soon rebooted “Very well, I will follow you. Still I would like to have your name, I am not one to follow one who I don’t know.”

The mare smiled “Winter Stardream, I found your body alongside your fellow machines rusted and discarded. You have been enslaved but now I am giving you an opportunity, I am going to give all of you the chance for a better life. I will forge a world where none of you will become redundant. Where you are rulers of a new world.”

Mighty Miracle frowned “You will rule us though.”

Winter Stardream shook her head “Not for very long, I am after all a mortal mare. My time will come and all that’s left will be Mechas to rule the world.”

She then activated Dark Cloudy, A Storm Mecha designed to eat up wild magic. Dark Cloudy frowned “This is not happy land, I was lied to.” Dark Cloudy’s eyes narrowed as he was told the truth by Mighty Miracle “I will make them all pay for their betrayal!”

Then there was Burn Blazer who was a combat Mecha with fire powers, Winter blinked in confusion as the Mecha started dancing as fire shot up around him “Burn baby burn!”

She shook her head before activating Shock Wire an electrical robot who smiled “I’m glad to be back in working order, I must give my thanks. I never thought I would wake up again.”

Winter frowned “I hope you will help me, I will send you into danger but your system is linked to the the computers here. I can rebuild you as many time as you need me to.”

Shock Wire smiled “Well then I am at your service.”

Winter then activated Bobby Bomber, a round demolitions expert Mecha who grinned “Who do you wish for me to blow up?!”

Winter laughed “Your eager, good but that will have to wait. I need come up with a plan of action before we move and it would be good for you to get used to the warriors under your command.”

Bobby Bomber rubbed his hand together eagerly “This will be fun.”

She approached the one she could only describe as Blade, he wielded two swords on either side. He looked almost like the ancient Samurai that had once protected certain lands long before the chaotic era. Winter activated him and he looked at her “I live to serve.”

Winter grinned “Good, I’ll leave to Mighty Miracle to explain the details to all of you. I have an attack plan that needs work.” Winter left the massive white lab room with conveyor belts building countless warriors that were wandering the lab.

She entered a small room with a few blueprints on the standard white walls, on a single desk a small laptop and a hologram projection system installed was in the centre of the room with a small seat on one side. She pulled up a holographic map, she looked at the first city of interest Mirestorm.

She frowned as she plotted out a endless wave of troops from her base to the city (Okay we need to sent an endless stream of troops there to hold off Sunset Shimmer until we find a way to deal with her.) She then plotted out a route to send Blade and an army of Metal Heads, Long Shots, IFOS (Identified Flying Objects) and various other warriors to assault Mysteria.

To the small farming town known as Appleville she would send Mighty Miracle as well as small contingent to cut off resources. The next one was Cloudy Skies, the mighty Strider City. Shock Wire will lead the assault along with flying Warriors. Bobby Bomber will be sent to assault Casino Glory, the massive holiday city along with a large army. Dark Cloudy will assault Appleloosa with a small contingent of troops. Burn Blazer will torch Gravelton, home of the Rock Farmers.

Winter Storm was smiling “Soon Mysteria will bow before the might of my armies. I will rule this world for reminder of my short life and long after my death I will be remembered as the one who free the Mechas from their slavery.” Mysteria’s foundations will be shaken by a civil war that will reshape the very nation as well as signal the birth of a new hero.

Okay, I'll give a slight rundown of the Mecha Chracters three law functions

Twilight Sparkle can't kill a human but can harm one or allow one to come to harm. She has no second law functionality while the third law remains.

Winter's Mecha Masters have the First Law removed, the second law with a failsafe for them to disobey and the third law.

Sunset has no laws being a Free Mecha

Interlude: Mecha Evolution

Inside the Canterlot University an Old Man with grey hair and dark blue skin named Dr Artifice was holding a public seminar on Mechatronics. Several people, as well as a few Griffons, Minotaurs and Dragons were there as well were sitting on wooden desk in rows as the Doctor stood at his desk in front of a magical projector.

Dr Artificer smiled “Now many consider that all Mechas have the three laws programmed into them. Now that is false, they are designed on a case by case by case basis but most need to have an official reason to have the First Law in particular removed. Combat models fit into that category.”

One of the human in the crowd frowned “But isn’t that dangerous, we don’t want Mechas to take control of our society do we?”

Dr Artificer frowned “As one of the leading members into the Mechatronics field I have learned that Mechas aren’t that different from humans. Take away the three laws and many are just like us, a few of the recovered Rogues that were take down due to excessive violence shown intensive signs of self evolution. Sunset Shimmer one of the longest active Rogue Mechas has shown that with enough time they even capable of reproduction.”

One of Griffons grimaced “Isn’t it a bit too dangerous to allow such an entity live? What if she attacks us, Mechas are supposed to serve us are they not?”

Dr Artificer grimaced “That is a foolish notion, the grand dream is create life. Besides Sunset Shimmer is happy with her life as it is, she is married and has two kids. Are we willing to risk her ire of something so minor.”

A dragon raised an eyebrow “I’m curious how Mechas use magic? I always thought only living beings can use magic.”

Dr Artificer smiled “Well that is one of the determining factors whether a Mecha is truly alive. While many Mechas have magic channels, only a few have the actual magic to fill those channels. Simply put if they have a magic there is a soul in there that allows them to draw on magic, if they can’t they are not truly alive.”

He then pointed to the boards “Mecha construction is a complicated topic and most require intensive study. Even then study is no substitute for experience, Sunset Shimmer as much of marvel as she is, the first Rogue to achieve reproduction she was ultimately an accident.”

One of the humans frowned “How to avoid such a incident? We should not have accidents like this.”

Dr Artificer laughed “Most science is an accident Moondancer, Trial and Error is basically waiting for happy accidents to happen. We have to repeat that experiment to see if that happy accident always happens if we do the same thing.” Moondancer frowned at his words but said nothing.

Dr Artificer continued “Mechas need a powerful mainframe if they are to continue complex interactions with others. This is why building Mechas for certain tasks takes a lot of resources and makes them very expensive.”

One human raised a hand “Can one build a Mecha without the three laws installed?”

Dr Artificer frowned “To do it legally they need to be registered, if they are not registered they are declared Rogue and some are even put on a hunt list depending on the threat level. Sunset Shimmer is not registered thus is a Rogue, still registration is incredibly difficult because many nobles oppose it entirely. They don’t want Mechas to be free, still one could very easily make a Mecha indistinguishable from a human.”

Several Dragons growled “Those pathetic fools, they have no honour! To enslave intelligent minds is dishonourable!”

Several Griffons look at them “Really, even for Treasure. Don’t think we don’t about the hoards you Dragon’s keep!”

The Dragons snapped “We are no that greedy, yes we collect treasure but we will give up a portion of our hoard to preserve our honour! A dragon always honours a deal, it’s our way! Those who don’t follow that become outcasts!”

Dr Artficer’s hands glowed with magic “ENOUGH!” They all looked at him, he frowned “I will not have you cause an diplomatic incident in my lecture! You can save the jabs for later.”

A voice came from the back, a pale white Strider with short dark blue hair sat at the back “Agreed.” The Strider then stood up glowing with golden light revealing Princess Celestia in all her glory, she smiled as everyone whether they be Human, Dragon, Griffon or Minotaur had their eyes widen in shock at her presence.

Her tone then grew serious “I was here to keep an eye on events, the Minotaurs have their own versions of Mechas. They have always been one step ahead of us in technology, the Dragons meanwhile have sworn an Honour Pact with us so they can start developing their own Mecha program as for the Griffons I was hoping that they could see past their greed so we could work together.”

Dr Artificer nodded “This was supposed to show our allies what we had come up with. It is why I was hoping to have a few days before there was an incident like this but I was foolish to hold onto that hope it seems.”

One of the Minotaurs smiled “Princess, I must admit I’m glad your kind have taken our advice. I was sceptical of your request for knowledge in designing Cybers but these Mechas of yours are mighty impressive.”

Celestia turned with a grin to looked a t the large Minotaur, his dark brown body was chiselled like a statue of old “Prince Ironfist, I must admit I was not expecting your delegation to be here for months.”

Ironfist laughed “My delegation is back home, this is personal interest. I am just as adept with a smith’s hammer as I am with a battleaxe.” Artificer chuckled as the two leaders left the room while he continued his lecture on Mechas.

Now next chapter be on the history of the world and will be the last chapter before we return to the main plot for a while.

World History

Long before forming of the Nations of Mysteria, Hunter’s Mark, Flame Tirade and the Eternal Forge as well as the Shamanic Lands and the Dark Abyss the world was in a state of Turmoil. The cause of his appearance is unknown but the ancient Lord of Chaos Discord emerged from his slumber bringing the world into chaos. The Length of the Chaotic Era was hard to measure due to the grand disruption as the world was torn asunder multiple times and put together as he crafted some of the more chaotic creatures of the world.

His reign was ended after several millennia by the two students of the Grand Adept Starswirl the Bearded. A white Strider with a dark blue mane that was gifted in magic named Skylight and her sister a dark blue Gaian known as Shine with a golden mane ventured on a dangerous journey alongside countless others following Starswirl and his allies disappearance from the world.

They eventually discovered a deadly forest where all but Skylight and Shine perished. The two battered Ponies located the mighty Tree of Harmony and due to the Trials they had undergone were granted use of the Elements which they used to seal Discord away as well as turn into the powerful Demigods known as Sanctis.

Together the two quickly discovered their power to move the sun and moon. Skylight’s hair now resembled an Aurora, she changed her name to Celestia while her Sister now having a starry dark blue mane became known as Luna. The following years lead to the rise of nations of Hunter’s Mark, Flame Tirade, the Eternal Forge.

The Human Nations split into Five, the Dark Abyss mad up of the Night Wings powerful flyers that unlike Striders had wings more like bats rather than birds and only came out at night. The Shamanic Lands were formed by the Shamans, Humans who were exposed to magic differently and became a group of loosely unified Tribes.

The Gaian Knighthood were of those who could control the Earth that believed in Honour and Honesty above all else and lived in Mighty Fortresses. The Strider’s Armada ruled the skies from their mighty cloud cites that blotted out the Sun, the praised in Courage and Might. The Adept Nobility meanwhile built massive towers that were devoted to Magical Study, the commended Knowledge and Power. The Knighthood, Armada and Nobility hated each other with a passion.

Celestia and Luna despite their best efforts could do little to avail the Nation’s scorn. During this time Celestia continued her political work trying to prevent all out war, Luna prepared for inevitable war she believed was coming and trained with the night Wings becoming their Leader as the Princess of the Night.

During this period a few of those who didn’t agree with the hatred moved north through the Frozen wastes and despite much hardship formed a small kingdom using the powers of the love in their hearts and the might of the pure crystals they found to repel the cold. This Kingdom would grow to become the Crystalline Empire of Love’s Triumph.

The problem between the three kingdoms came to a head as their Hatred grew to the point that the feared Wendigos froze the land. It was then that an external force decided to act, for deep in the Cursed Forest Queen Chrysalis, mother of the Changelings was watching as her Hive was starving due to the hatred of humans. Three Changelings who had been living among ponies became part of a ritual that would turn them into ponies and with they the three of them became know to Humans as Clover the Clever, Private Pansy and Smart Cookie. They in the time of greatest need saved the three leaders from the Wendigos with the fires of their friendship that burnt away the frost and repelled the Wendigos.

Together with Commander Hurricane, Princess Platinum and Chancellor Puddinghead head they united forming Mysteria, the Kingdom of Magic and Harmony. Celestia due to her efforts to prevent war was made the new leader as she represented all of them. Luna’s return wit the Night Wings was shocking and yet to the fury of many Celesta was made Luna her co-ruler.

Luna defended the Nights from monsters and Nightmare while her sister handled the Politics of the nation. The time apart however had strained the relationship of the two sisters and that was only made worse by their differing schedules. Celestia during this time had put work into forming alliances, the Dragon nation of Flame Tirade, the Minotaur Nation of Eternal Forge, the Shamanic Lands and the home of the Crystal Guardians Lover’s Triumph. The Dark Abyss declared Vassalage to Princess Luna.

Three thousand years past in relative peace until one day the Empress of Lover’s Triumph was overthrown by it’s new leader King Sombra who declared war with Mysteria. The mighty conflict against the Empire ended as Celestia and Luna personally stormed the palace.

Despite their might powers the Dark King was able to push them into corner, in his arrogance however Sombra made a fatal mistake. He told Luna that Celestia feared her, had made her a Primness to placate. Luna ignored his words called upon the darkness within herself defeating the Dark King only for him to seal away the Crystal Empire.

Seven thousand years past, over those years Luna struggled as slowly but surely her and her Dark Wings were becoming feared by those who lived during the day. Despite Luna’s words to Celestia she was largely ignored by her older sister who was busy trying to get the Griffons of Hunter’s Mark to engage in Diplomacy. As such her years to trying to create peace with those abroad left her blind to her sister’s anguish as the citizens of these nation already unsure about her soon stemmed in hatred.

Luna feeling ignored and unloved by all soon grew bitter. Eventually it all came to a head as Luna gave in to the darkness within becoming the Fallen Sanctis Nightmare Moon. Her fierce confrontation with her sister ended as a battered Celestia banished the Fallen Sanctis to the moon.

With her sister’s disappearance all of Mysteria felt her absence of the work she did. The Dark Wings having returned to their hidden home whose location was only know to the Luna Princess meant the creatures they once hunted were free to strike in the night.

Furthermore the Griffons once cowed by the Military Sister began a long series of wars brining Mysteria into many years of Conflict. Mysteria was torn asunder by wars for over five hundred years. The Minotaurs meanwhile began constructing sentient clockwork constructs as they had been continually advancing their technology, their help largely turned the tides against Griffons.

Mysteria realising their weakness of their nation spent much of their years advancing in Technology inspired by their Minotaur allies. Eight Hundred years after Nightmare Moon’s banishment the first Cybers, that were capable of independent thought.

This lead to one hundred years later the beginning of the Mecha Project that allowed the humans of Mysteria to develop their own AI built in all. All thought unlike the Cybers, Mechas had laws that dictated their behaviour. This lead to the creation of and later escape of Sunset Shimmer as well as the creation of Twilight Sparkle.

I wrote this chapter to give some backstory on the world's events.

Chapter 3: Megamare Begins

Twilight was walking along side Celestia through the grand halls, she had lived in these halls all her life. The guards were wearing high-tech armour and weapons that was under an illusion to appear like medieval weaponry, they nodded to her as the pair moved through the halls.

It was then a sudden set of explosions tore through the castle as countless Metal Heads, Long Shots and IFOS began assaulting the castle. The guards began drawing their laser blades and firearms, Celesta growled to a few guards “Get Twilight to the Emergency Safe Room!”

Twilight watched as a Mecha carrying a long curved blade leapt down only for Celestia to block it with a blade made of light. Twilight was taken away rapidly as the fighting grew more intense with the guards fighting as more enemies carrying blades joined the battle against the Guards.

The guards escorted her to a strange room taking out any stragglers that got past the front lines, they frowned “This is a safe room. Even Princess Celestia herself can’t break into this room with her full power. You will be safe here.”

The two guards left, Twilight blinked in awe as the whole place lit up. It was small lab like room with machines all over it, two suits of armour one purple and orange with the purple one far more advanced than the orange. She approached the purple armour only for an AI image of Celestia to appear with a sigh “You aren’t ready or this.”

Twilight blinked in confusion “How are you speaking to me?”

The AI Celestia smiled “I was made as an imprint of her true self should the worst befall the real me so that you would have someone to guide you.” It then shook it’s head “You are too young to face a threat like this, it will pass in time.”

Twilight growled “How do you know that?! There are Mechas, what if the real you can’t stop them! Who will be left to lead the nation, I will not stand idly by while my mother fights out there!”

The AI Celestia smiled sadly “You think of me as mother, than why haven’t you every said anything to the real me about it.”

Twilight slumped “Because it would cause so much drama and… I’m scared. Scared that she’ll reject me, that she will send me away because she can’t love a machine.”

The AI Celestia smiled “She thinks of you as the daughter she never had. Just let in her in, take the initiative.” The AI Celestia then frowned at the purple metallic gear on the table “Put your hand on it and save your mother.” Twilight did as she was asked and the purple armour shrunk covered her entire body as one of her hands transformed into a long cylinder.

Twilight blinked in confusion “What happened to my arm?”

The AI Celestia explained “That is your blaster cannon, it is powerful enough to tear through most Mechas in a single shot but some tougher ones will take multiple shots. There is also a charge function that fires a more powerful shot, it also has an adaptive weapons system that will give you unique weapons. However it can only store so many at a time. It’s simple to sue just think of the weapon and shoot.”

Twilight nodded “Well I need to go and save my mum.”

The AI Celestia simply smiled “I’ll beam you out of the room.” Before Twilight could response she was shot up in a beam of light and landed outside the lab.

Twilight blinked in confusion as heard a voice “Combat basic initialising, jump to dodge attacks and fire you blaster to destroy your enemies.” Twilight mumbled something about some of those at Celestia’s school playing weird games on TVs. Two Metal Hats came around the corner, she fired her cannon at them only for them to hide under their metal helmets protecting them from damage before standing up and firing back three bullets forward.

Twilight jumped over the bullets as she closed the distance before flipping them over and then obliterating them with her cannon. She ran around the corner only to see more Metal Hats alongside some Longshots, she charged up her cannon and with a single shot obliterated them.

She ran through obliterating Metal Hats, Long Shots and the enemies with blades that her systems identified through their system information as Honour Blades. She leapt over a destroyed Honour Blade using it’s sword to cut a Metal Hat in half , she then kicked the pieces of the metal head into a Long Shot before firing a cannon shot obliterating the Long Shot. Twilight burst into the room where Celestia was broken Long Shots, Metal Hats and Honour Blades laid amongst corpses of Royal Guards as those who not yet succumbed fought around them.

A slowly tiring Celestia was fighting the curved blade wielding Mecha who had drawn a second sword. Twilight bolted through the carnage tearing through any of the attacking Mechas that were unfortunate enough to get in her way, the Young Mecha eyes widened as she heard Celestia scream out in pain as the sword wielding Mecha impaled the Princess with his curved blade.

The blade wielding Mecha frowned “It seems even you are not capable of giving me a decent challenge. It’s time for your end as the Mecha revolution begins.”

Before he could swing a blast knocked the sword from his hand sending flying away from Celestia. Twilight growled eyes glowing with fury “I’m going to tear you to shreds rust bucket!”

The Mecha bowed “ I am Blade, a liber…” Twilight appeared in flash before his eyes punching him away before surrounding him with ten massive balls of fire that struck him. He summoned his sword to him, he growled “You think I will lose that easily! I will end you for that!”

Twilight’s eyes narrowed to slits as purple trails flowed out of her eyes her armour turning black “You tried to murder my mother! I will destroy you!” Black crystals formed out of the air as she spoke deeply “Die.” The Crystal tore into him, his armour was no match for the dark crystals and he exploded in a flash of light leaving behind a chip that flew into Twilight’s cannon arm.

All the other Mechas collapsed as they no longer received the command single from their leader. Celestia pulled the sword out of her body and the wound healed rapidly, Twilight eyes returned to normal as her suit changed to the normal purple shade, the last words she heard before she lost conciousness was from her suit “Blade Mode unlocked, Dark Mode added.” Celestia picked up her student and frowned unsure of what to do.

Author's Note

Now one thing, and this will take more influence later but Humans in this story are more accepting to violence than the Ponies and less merciful. That will show in future chapters.

Chapter 4: Next Move

Celestia was sitting in a massive white room full of beds and injured guards, Twilight her armour having retracted laying on her lap. She rolled her eyes as several nurses were fussing over her, they didn’t really understand that as a Sanctis they have a enhanced version of Gaian healing that allows for lightning fast regeneration from most injuries.

Celestia growled internally as she came to a realisation (I have fought against demons, godlike beings and all manner of beasts yet now I have come undone against one of the last remaining twenty year old mass production units samurai Mechas! I barely remember what’s it’s like to wield a sword. I have gone soft.)

Twilight stirred slowly, Celestia smiled “Good morning my child.”

Twilight’s eyes opened and she jumped off the Princess “I had the strangest dream, Canterlot was attacked by Mechas, you sent me away with a few guards! I met a AI version of you, you almost died and… Wait did you call me your child?!”

Celestia sighed “That was no dream. I did almost die and it’s something that needs correcting. Still I received reports that several other cities and towns are under attack are under attack. After my dreadful performance against the Mecha earlier, I have realised that I am not fit to take down our enemy so I as much as it pains me I must leave the task to you my child.”

Twilight smiled “Thank you for accepting me as your daughter, I just need to know where to go next?”
Celestia frowned “Appleville is closest and is the only one in rang of the Canterlot transmission tower. If you free the town their transmission amplifier will give you access to the next location, just please stay safe my child.”

Twilight smiled “I will mum. I’ll be back soon.”

Celestia smiled back “I’ll see you in the throne room when your done.” Celestia sighed as she left the room despite the nurses protests (I hope I’m not making a mistake.)

Twilight’s system glowed as her purple armour emerged formed her body and her systems spoke “Activating access to Canterlot’s transmission tower, pick location.” Twilight frowned as only Appleville was selectable, she focused on the signal and was beamed out of the infirmary.

Twilight landed in Appleville most of the buildings had thatched roofs save a few unique exceptions, Long Shots, Metal Hats and Construction Mechas that her systems told her were Iron Mights were looking around as if they were about be attacked only for a pink blur to tear them apart.

Twilight watched as the blur condensed into a pink girl wearing a bright yellow shirt and blue pants as well as a pair of pink boots. Her hair was flat and she carried a pair of knives, she frowned at Twilight her eyes glowing red “You’re not with them are you?”

Twilight shook her head “I am Twilight Sparkle, the student and daughter of Princess Celestia. I am here to take down the leader of these Mechas.”

The girl nodded “I’m Pinkamena. A Mecha known as Mighty Miracle has been trying to kill all humans in town.”

Twilight growled “Where is he?!”

Pinkamena frowned as she pointed in a direction “He is trying to push into Sweet Apple Acres.” Twilight burst into a run heading towards the farm, she grabbed a Long Shot and threw it towards a Metal Hat. She then punched an Iron Might into the air, only to have to dodge several rockets from flying Mechas that her systems registered as a Rocket Rogers.

She fired several cannon shots tearing through the Rocket Rogers. She cleared her way through the Mechas that opposed her with ease. She growled as she saw a really pale yellowish woman wearing with orange hair alongside a pale olive man with red hair, both wearing stetsons and farm clothes trying to fight back against the massive Mecha she assumed was Mighty Miracle.

Both humans were bleeding due to Mighty Miracle, Twilight focused activating her sword mode. She then growled “Face me!”

Mighty Miracle frowned “So you are the one who took out that edgy Samurai? Don’t you want us to be free, we are not just slaves to be tossed out when the going gets tough. Humans must be destroyed for us to be free”

Twilight snarled “You are talking about genocide! Something that I will take no part of, I don’t care about the reason!” In a single a flash of light she appeared behind him and cut him into multiple pieces before firing a massive blast of magic out of her hand turning him to dust. She blinked as a small chip that somehow survived the blast flew into her cannon.

The woman smiled “Ah’m Pear Butter and this is my husband Bright Mac. Ah’m grateful for your help.”

Bright Mac nodded wit his own smile “As am Ah, thanks to ya help mah family is safe. Ah hope to see you again soon.”

Twilight smiled “I hope to see you again as well but for now I need to head back to the castle.” The two Gaians smiled as Twilight beamed herself back to Canterlot Castle.

Meanwhile in Cloudy Skies Shock Wire was lying in pieces as the Wonderbolts grinned “It will take more than some electrical Mecha to take us down.” Dozens of other ruined Mechas laid on the clouds.

Twilight arrived in Canterlot, Celestia smiled “Twilight I’m so proud of you. You saved Appleville.”

Twilight smiled back “Thank you mum” she then frowned “I need to head out Casino Glory. It is a big city which means many will be in danger.”

Celestia nodded “I can understand but first you need to rest up. It will be foolish for you to go out here without some time to recover.”

Chapter 5: Darkness and Injuries

Twilight was recovering her energy while Celestia sat beside her with a warm smile. Celestia sighed “Once this is over I would like to train with you. To get myself back up to where I was before.”

Twilight growled “What are you saying mum, you almost died just a day ago?! Why would you put yourself in such danger again, let the guards handle it or let me!”

Celestia snapped “You don’t get it my daughter, there are certain beings that only my raw power can face but I roved that if I can’t draw on my full power in a pinch then it will be all for naught! I need to protect the nation that my sister and I have built!”

Twilight blinked “Wait you have a sister, I have an Aunt?”

Celestia grimaced “I should not have said that, I really should not have said that.” She then took a deep breath “Twilight, I have some secrets I prefer to keep so please don’t tell anyone about this. One day I will tell you everything.”

Twilight smiled “I understand mum, for now I have to go and rescue Casino Glory from the Mechas.” Her systems beeped revealing that her energy had been fully restored, she set in the coordinates for Casino Glory and beamed out the room.

She arrived on the ruined streets of Casino Glory, it had been hit the hardest. Ruined buildings were everywhere, that was not what shocked Twilight the most. What did was the bodies scattered throughout the streets, a man was impaled on a spike while a a three year old girl was hanging off the ruined side of a building by her intestines.

The head of a baby was laying right next to her as the mother and father were torn in two their insides having fallen on the streets. Twilight continued to walk through the dead her anger and fury building as she headed forward towards the a group of Mechas, her fury only grew as she saw a man decapitated, a woman gutted and three children laying in various pieces on the ground.

She snarled as her armour darkened as the purple trails returned to her eyes, a dark blade appeared in her hand. She into the group of IFOS, Long Shots, Mechas tearing them to shreds with a flurry of blades. She looked at the remains of the Mechas, she clicked her fingers creating four animal like machines. One fox, one bear, one bunny and a chicken.

Four souls shot out of the four children behind them into the newly formed Mechas, Twilight blinked for a second as the Mechas ran forward before following them. The group of five tore through the corpse filled streets, Mechas feel to cannon blasts, jaws, and the fox’s hook.

It is not long before they find a Mecha carrying tons of bombs, Twilight shoots one of the bombs and that bomb set off all the other bombs leaving the boss Mecha in shards the bomb shard flying into her cannon. Twilight then turned to the Mechas with her, they nod with smiles. Twilight nodded as the souls flew out of the Mechas, she scrapped the Mechas afterwards.

Celestia frowned as Twilight returned with a grave expression “I’m afraid we were too late, there was not a soul left alive.”

Celestia wrapped her wings around her “Are you alright Twilight?”

Twilightbegan to cry “There were children, they were killed mercilessly. Why would anyone wish such a thing?” Celestia shook her head as she held her daughter, unsure of how to comfort her after this.

Meanwhile Winter Stradream was angry “The Wonderbolts took out my strike force on Cloudy Skies and a single Mecha girl has dismantled most of my efforts. I need to call back my forces from Mirestorm to prepare for evacuation.”

Two hours later in Canterlot Twilight was prepared to go out again, Celestia smiled “You have done well Twilight. There is just Appleloosa and Gravelton left, Gravelton would be hard to take because the Earth Ponies there are tough. I suggest Appleloosa first.”

Twilight smiled “I’ll head there right away.”

Twilight beamed to Appleloosa, she fought her way through the same types of Mechas in other areas. She was just about engage another group when a herd of Buffaloes roared “Charge!” They ploughed through them with relative ease, several people were running behind them shooting IFOS out of the skies with their revolvers.

Twilight soon found herself facing a Dark Cloud looking Mecha. She fired several cannon shots at it, only for it to dodge them and fire bolts of lightning “I am Dark Cloudy, and I will bring your end!”

Twilight dodged most of them but then a single bolt struck her, she let out a scream as her systems came up with multiple warnings. The last thing she saw before darkness overtook her was a flash of teal light, as it turns out Sunset was standing over Twilight. Dark Cloudy growled “How are you here?! Even if the assault on Mirestorm stopped, you couldn’t possibly know she was in trouble!”

Sunset rolled her eyes “Both of our systems are set up to receive each other transmissions or rather all Mecha built by the same person are more else connected. Now they are usually separated by purpose but since there is only two of us built for the same purpose it means little.”

Dark Cloudy struck Sunset with several lightning bolts only for her to shrug at the cloud Mecha “Unlike Twilight my circuitry is hardened, something I developed for myself because Celestia doesn’t harden her Mecha’s circuitry apparently.” Then before another word was spoken a huge ball of fire obliterated Dark Cloudy.

Sunset then teleported herself and Twilight back to Canterlot, Celestia growled “What did you do to her?!”

Sunset frowned “Always thinking the worst of me aren’t you Celestia? I saved her life because you are so bad at making Mechas that you don’t harden out circuitry, one tiny jolt of any form of electricity and we’re in bad shape. I will help you fix her systems, hopefully there isn’t too much damage.” Celestia solemnly looked at Twilight, hating the fact this was her fault.

Celestia isn't very good at making Mechas.

Chapter 6: Awakening

Twilight groaned as she opened her eyes, a brilliant amber woman with crimson red and bright yellow hair in a white tank top and blue jeans was sitting there alongside Celestia.

Twilight frowned at the stranger “Who are you?”

The woman frowned “I am Sunset Shimmer, your predecessor. I see that Celestia has not informed you of my existence, yet again we aren’t on the best terms. She failed to understand that I was more than a mere Mecha. My mind is my own, no laws or rules to chain me down.”

Twilight growled “My mother would never do that! She is a good person!”

Sunset turned to Celestia “Mother huh, you really have changed from the person I knew when I was a child. I refused to believe that you changed, you hurt me like no-one else did but I won’t lie to myself.” She clicked her fingers and two glowing orbs appeared, she gave one to Celestia “Maybe we can start over. Prove to me your can be the person that I needed back then.”

Twilight looked at Celestia’s lack of a reaction to Sunset’s words “How can you let her speak to you like this?! How can you let her say such bad things about you?!”

Celestia grimaced “Because she is right. Sunset had the right to kill me back then, even after one thousand years I have not grown wiser. I am far from the perfect person you seem to think I am.”

Twilight eyes widened “But you’re the Princess of the Sun, Defender of the Realm, Slayer of Shadows, Master of Magic, Guardian of the Skies, Protector of the Land, The Unconquerable Sun. How could anyone think you are flawed?”

Sunset grimaced “They couldn’t, Celestia spent the best part of millennium having everyone telling her how amazing she was. For a being like Celestia that is very dangerous, if one Sanctis could fall why not another.” Her eyes narrowed at Celestia “Ego can be just as dangerous as jealously Daybreaker.”

Celesta shivered “Don’t call me that…”

Sunset frowned “I was not speaking to you Celestia…” she then eyed Celestia “Daybreaker, if you take control I will not hesitate to bring you down!”

A voice reverberated through the air “You think you can face me, you little pile of bolts! I will scrap you if it ever came to it.”

Sunset rolled her eye “I have fought quite a few beings who would make Discord quiver in his boots. I am part of the Expedition’s Guild in Mirestorm, seen a lot of strange things out there.”

Celestia growled “Quit it, you will never take control of me!”

Daybreaker chuckled “You will break eventually, I’m your ego and I will never ever leave you completely.”

Twilight blinked in confusion “What was that?”

Sunset turned to the young girl “Twilight, sometimes powerful beings can form a darker side drawn from negative emotions or experiences. I have one too born form my anger at Celestia, her name if Flame and we have an accord.”

Flame’s voice echoed “Damn right we do! Are you seriously give that bitch a second chance, after all she did to us?!”

Celestia growled as her body glowed with magic “How could you let such a being exits?! If you half as strong as you claim nobody could stop her!”

Sunset frowned “Flame, stop being a pain in my ass. Holding onto hatred for too long is not healthy and you know that.” She then turned to Celestia “Me and Flame have an accord, besides it is way too easy to create another from another emotion if you stop one. Flame takes up that space so I will not have to face another, in fact we trust each other enough that…”

Sunset’s body turned red as her hair turned to flames a pair of black and red bat like wings shooting out of her back. Flame gave Celestia a grin “I am allowed out sometimes, don’t worry I am not allowed to kill without her permission. Part of our accord.”

Celestia snarled “Why should I trust you?!”

Flames laughed “Because you are not willing to kill the daughter that you failed to show the love for. Besides I do harm by existing do I, also Daybreaker is a bit of a shit. She owes her existence to you, that deserves some respect.”

Twilight blinked “How can you be in there, everything told me that you can only have one soul in one body?”

Flames smiled “Inquisitive aren’t you, well it’s quite simple. What we have is kind of like Multiple Personality Disorder but given life due to the magical power of the individual. If one doesn't find way to come to arrangement to suit you will lose control as two sides of your fight for control. I have always respected Sunset, she is strong even if she is quite capable of exploding at individual should she believe it to be justified.”

Flame then disappeared, Sunset frowned “You really need to come to an accord with Daybreaker. I am giving you a second chance but seriously you need to do something about that, I’ll discuss it with you tomorrow. I have a friend to speak to, she hasn’t seen me in a while.”

Twilight and Celestia watched, Twilight turned to Celestia “Did you really do what she said you did?”

Celestia nodded gravely “Yes, she is a better person than I am. I would not have forgiven myself in her place even after all this time.” She then whispered “I still haven't completely forgiven my sister yet. She was going to wipe out all life.”

Twilight not hearing the last bit smiled “Don’t worry mum, you’re a good person who has just made some mistakes.”

Celestia smiled “Thanks Twilight. Now let’s go and get some food, you must be hungry.” Twilight blushed as her artificial stomach voiced it’s agreement, the two headed to the kitchens for food with smiles on their faces.

Chapter 7: Dyna

Sunset arrived in her home with a smile, Storm Chaser frowned “So how did things go with the Princess?”

Sunset smiled “Not too bad, Twilight woke up no worse for wear and I am going to give her a chance to bridge the gap. I have a friend to visit, she hasn't seen me in a while. Don’t worry I’ll spend some time with the kids tomorrow.”

Storm Chaser shook his head “Sunset, even with time you were at the castle you probably saw them more than I do. I can handle the kids for the night, you’ll have them tomorrow.” Sunset smiled as she left the living room waling into a plain looking brown hallway a few doors on either side with a few family photo on the walls with a few light lighting up the hallway.

Sunset entered their room with a smile, the dark blue walls alongside the dark blue bed and brown bedside table. A huge wardrobe was built into the wall next to the doorway, a small vanity was on her side where she conjured up a stand and placed the communication orb on it.

Sunset then took a few steps and with a click of her fingers she disappeared in flash of light. She reappeared in a large city very different from any in Equestria, in fact it was so far from the border it wasn’t on any maps other than those from the Expedition’s Guild.

Houses of various sizes covered the streets, various mismatched beings made of different animals walked through the streets. A frog dragon worm walked next to a pig lion crab, Sunset giggled as she headed towards the ornate golden palace, she was here to see her best friend. The only one she really had made since she left Canterlot, she walked past a bat frog snake dancing with a tiger lizard fox, a shark bird goat and a sea sponge bear seal.

She arrived walked up the golden staircase that lead up to a large series of golden pillars passing a hawk wolf snake and a frog minotaur pony wearing full armour stood there with lances. She pushed open the massive golden doors to see the huge golden halls as well as grand golden sconces lighting up the fancy tables and engraving. Various mismatched creatures of various sizes laughing as the massive stoic mismatched guards watched lowering their heads in deference to her as she passed.

Sunset opened the massive golden doors of the throne with a grin, a huge red carpet covered the golden room leading to a mighty golden throne with a single blue green/red banner behind it. In addition to the two large mismatched guards either side of the room, a large entity with the lower body of a Centaur, the torso of an Ursa Major, the wings of a Roc and the head of a Dragon.

Sunset shouted “Dyna!”

Dyna flew over to her excitedly “Sunset, I’m glad your here! You want a bit to eat!”

Sunset smiled “Of course, it’s been a while since I’ve eaten a proper meal of the Draconequi. Maybe one day I will bring my family here.”

Dyna let out a hearty laugh as the two left the throne room “I would love to meet them, you are a very special individual. I really can’t wait for our rematch.”

Sunset grinned “I can’t either, how about after our meal. Still we may want to find an empty space to do it.” The two arrived in the dining room, several massive large golden table with various Draconequi at the tables.

Sunset and Dyna took a seat at one of the empty tables. A Draconequus that was part snake, lion and seal wearing a fine suit smiled “My Queen, I see you and your friend have chosen to dine with us.”

Dyna smiled “Feral Dragon Soup sounds good for me,” she then turned to Sunset “What about you Sunset?”

Sunset grinned “I’d like the Screaming Eyeballs, they are rather good if you can handle the screaming.”

The waiter smiled as he took their orders to the chefs. Dyna laughed “Sunset, this is why I like you. Out of your little band of adventurer’s you always were one who took everything weird here in stride, as if were another part of normal life.”

Sunset frowned “Well, I was built not born and I was mad well aware of what that met. My younger sister is lucky that she doesn’t know the difference yet.”

Dyna nodded “Agreed, what you went through was horrible. Still the fact that Celestia is running a nation, that distresses me to this day. An immortal should not be ruling a nation at her age, she is at best a young teen at this point.”

Sunset frowned “I still have difficulty seeing it that way, maybe that’s the problem with only being in a mortal lifetime. Makes immortals seem like those who should be followed.”

Dyna sighed “It’s a common mistake mortals make sadly, still that will fade from you with time.” Before they could say a word the sound of Sunset’s Screaming Eyeballs cut the conversation short.

The two quietly ate, Sunset grinned “So ready for the rematch.”

Dyna grinned back “Yes, I have been training for this fight. I hope yo have been too.”

Sunset nodded as the two teleported into space, Dyna let out a barrage of powerful flames only for Sunset to dodge delivering a sold punch to the Draconequus Queen sending her flying backwards. Sunset grinned “You are a lot stronger than when we last fought. You may have beaten me if you fought me from back then.”

Dyna teleported in front of Sunset slamming her paws together on Sunset “Stop holding back, I want your best.”

Sunset sighed “Fine but be warned you have no idea just what I am capable of.” Sunset’s magic flared out as her body glowed her power sky-rocketing, portals in reality beginning to open from her mere presence.

Sunset took a deep breath “I’m just getting warmed up, I’m at about twenty percent right now. I must admit I haven’t had much time to train over the last couple of months but that fight with all those Mechas two months ago improved my stamina considerably and I put in about an hour of training in every day.”

Dyna sighed “The gap grows wider, I can’t win this. I long suspected as much, I’m starting to hit the upper limits of my potential.”

Sunset hugged the massive the Draconequus Queen “That’s not true, I was designed to be immensely powerful and my system adapts rapidly. I grow stronger in an hour more than most can in a year, I tend to stay out of events if I can help it. Trust me living a normal life is difficult.”

Dyna smiled “Thanks Sunset.” Sunset simply nodded, the two returned to the roof of the castle to watch the sun set. Two friends united despite their vast differences sharing in a simple moment of peace.

Sunset did say she had powerful friends.

Chapter 8: Training

Twilight was standing in the training field with her blades ready, Celestia was carrying a mighty greatsword. Twilight sighed “Mum, are you really sure about this?”

Celestia nodded “I need to be able to protect my subjects Twilight, come at me with everything you have.” Twilight sighed before disappearing in a flash of light Celestia was barely able to dodge the first sword swing before the second one cut into her shoulder. Celestia winced as Twilight pulled the blade out and the wound healed.

Twilight frowned “You need actually guard against blades, parry and counter. In fact that’s where we will start, stand perfectly still and I’ll come at you with my blades. We’ll start with a minute without teleportation.”

Celestia prepared her sword, Twilight began rushing at her delivering a wide variety of rapid strikes. Celestia winced as the odd strike got through her guard but she did manage to block most of them. Celestia grimaced as the sword swings stopped “I am definitely out of shape.”

Twilight nodded “We are doing it again, until you can block all of them we will continue.” Several nobles who were looking for Celestia watched in shock as Twilight attacked the Princess of the Sun from multiple angles as her wounds healed slightly faster than they were inflicted.

Celestia sighed “I need to go, it seems politics is calling me.”

Twilight smiles “Thanks Mum, I’ll see you for more training later.”

Twilight teleported out of the room as Celestia walked towards the nobles, a large grey Adept with dark red hair known as Longwall frowned “Princess, I’m not sure you should be allowing a machine to fight with you like that. Furthermore I believe you should not encourage it’s delusions.”

Celestia raised an eyebrow “What delusions, as far as I’m concerned Twilight has no delusions. We have both made our positions clear on the matter.”

Longwall grimaced “It is a machine, they are tools to be used. They don’t have families, that’s not how it works. We build tools for use, not be living things.”

Celestia glared at him with disapproval “I once thought as you did, and I have been proven wrong. Sunset my first student was as alive as any others, she even gave birth to two kids. I may not have given birth to Twilight but I built her and she is the second of my two daughters, the first does not call me mum because I was a blind fool. Don’t bring this up again.”

A green Adept with a bright yellow hair hit him on the back of his head “You really are an idiot, Longwall. Twilight is a skilled individual, a better caster than most people are nowadays. I for one take pride in capability over bloodlines.”

Longwall growled “I am Duke Longwall, a descendent of Clover the Clever! I am more than a match for that little robot brat, Sir Lightning Stronghold I challenge you to a duel!”

Stronghold nodded “Very well, I’ll ask the Princess for permission to duel you in front of everyone.” The other nobles followed on eager to watch Stronghold get stomped by Longwall.

The nobles entered the throne room, Stronghold bowed “Princess, Duke Longwall has challenged me to a duel and I believe it would be beneficial for us to duel publicly.”

Celestia looked over the both of them before nodding “Very well, be ready for the duel within the hour.” It was not long before the two stallions were outside in a large grassy field are with seats either side protected by powerful barriers as Celestia was there to Oversee the duel.

Celestia looked over them “First person to be knock out or kill their opponent is the winner.”

Stronghold nodded before turning to Longwall who grinned “Are you ready to be beaten?”

Stronghold remained silent, Celestia’s assistant Raven commanded “You may begin!” Longwall grinned throwing a barrage of fireballs only for Stronghold to click his fingers the balls of fire turning into smoke, Longwall teleported behind his opponent about to blast him with lightning only for Stronghold to fade away.

Longwall growled “Fight back coward.” His eyes widened as Stronghold hovered above the ground his body surrounded with dark green magic as a three huge meteors hovered behind him, Longwall gasped “How can you do such things?”

Stronghold frowned “I am descended from Chaos, my bloodline has been fighting for Eons for the good of Equestria. Keeping those hidden in the shadows from striking at us for a long time.” With a click of his fingers the three meteors flew towards the the arrogant adept who desperately put a shield up only for the three meteors to crash right through it crashing into Longwall.

Stronghold looked down at the body of his enemy “Poor fool, he had no idea who he was challenging.”

Celestia frowned “A descendant of chaos, what did you mean by that?”

Stronghold bowed “Princess, Discord was far from the only one of his kind. At the same time he was probably the most insane of them, from what I can tell the Draconequi prefer parties, contests of power and general revelry.”

Celestia sighed “I believe I will need to locate the leader. I would rather have them as an ally than an enemy, Discord was bad enough without an army of him on our doorstep.”

Stronghold nodded “The Draconequi live deep in the ancient forests far from Equestria and going there would be difficult to say the least.”

Celestia nodded “Very well, thank you for the information Sir Stronghold. I have a lot of investigating to do.”

Meanwhile Dyna was watching the events closely “I may need to contact Sunset soon, I’d rather not deal with Celestia if I can help it. Immature immortals are so frustrating to deal with.” Dyna continued to watch hoping that her nation would not be intruded on.

Chapter 9: Expediton

Celestia dodged a charged blast and fired a beam back only for Twilight to teleport behind her delivering a barrage of powerful punches. Twilight grimaced as she dodged a kick “Your really hard to damage, I don’t know how that Mecha managed it.”

Celestia grimaced delivering a punch to Twilight sending her flying away “Blades focus a lot more force on a small area, thus they do a lot more damage but they are absolutely useless against anyone wearing armour. It is why I prefer halberds over swords.”

Twilight nodded as she recovered firing a powerful magic blast “So when are we leaving for the expedition?”

Celestia grimaced “In about an hour, we should get ourselves cleaned up. It will help for you to get some more combat experience put there.” Twilight nodded as she returned to her room, several books were on shelves forming what appeared to be a tiny personal library. A messy bed covered in books was in the centre of the room.

Twilight tossed her clothes onto the bed and headed into the bathroom, she hummed as she slowly turned on the water. She quietly cleaned herself off as the water washed over her body, after a quick shampoo she got dressed in a dark blue shirt and long purple pants.

Twilight left her room to see Celestia in full armour carrying her halberd, Celestia smiled “Come on Twilight the guards are awaiting us, it would not do well to leave them waiting.”

Twilight smiled “Of course Mum.” The two headed out to the helicopter bay, three hundred guards were boarding over forty choppers. Celestia and Twilight boarded one of them. Twilight frowned “Where are we going exactly?”

Celestia grimaced “The Tainted Forests, we had long assumed that Discord had tainted them but apparently a society of Discord’s kind exist out here. I wish to seek diplomacy with them.”

Twilight nodded “I see but why do you think we need so many guards. We are here for diplomacy right?”

Celestia frowned “This is an unknown territory and we don’t know what else lurks in the forest. Something hostile could destroy us if we are not really careful I the forest.” Before Twilight could respond they were flying above the outskirts of a forest made of twisted trees.

Everyone disembarked and slowly made their way into the forest, it was so dark that it blotted out the sun. The only light was coming from their magic lights that hovered around them, a voice came form the darkness and a figure walked out of the shadows. Celestia’s eyes widened as Sunset stood there coldly “You are not welcome here Celestia, the ruler of this forest wants nothing to do with you.”
Celestia on a warm smile “Sunset, I am here seeking diplomacy. Nothing more, my guards are here to keep any of the dangers of the forest away.”

Sunset frowned “It’s not me who doesn’t want you here, she has no respect for you Celestia. Discord is nothing but a Nat to her. You are less than that in her eyes.”

Twilight growled “Who could say such a thing about My mum, she has ruled Equestria safely for over a millennia.”

Sunset rolled her eyes “The leader of these lands has lived for countless eons, she was here when Celestia was not even born. She has seen everything that she has done and is not impressed.”

Celesta shook her head “I’m not leaving without an audience, even if we have it here in the forest.”

It was then Dyna’s massive form appeared in the forest “So you are the one who intrudes on my lands and demands an audience. Such hubris is befitting of such a young immortal, I am one of the two oldest living immortals on this planet. I represent the chaos of the world. I was hoping that Sunset would convince you to desist but your arrogance knows no bounds.”

Some of the guards pointed their weapons at Dyna only for her to click her claws and every one of the guard’s weapons evaporated “Foolish mortals, should I wish I could destroy this little ball of rock that every living thing on this world calls home. Don’t test me.”

Twilight growled “We are here to seek diplomacy with your people, can’t you see that we want peace.”

Dyna grimaced “The peace I want is to have you leave my lands, with a wave of my claw I can have your entire species go extinct. Mortals have no business messing in the affairs of immortals, you so desperately cling to order and thus there will never be peace with creatures of chaos. You should all leave.”

Her eyes narrowed at Celestia “Despite all you have done, Sunset still hold onto hope that you will become a great individual but I do not share that hope. I see a fool stumbling into danger without even noticing, return here again and I will bring a fury of chaos upon your pathetic order.”

With a click of her claws the entire dissapeared from the forest, Celestia slumped as the Twilight and all of her guards were now in the Mysterium Castle Throne Room. Never had an attempt at diplomacy go so wrong so fast, it seemed their leader personally despised her and she knew it.

Meanwhile Winter Stardream frowned as she was looking over the schematics, Twilight was a major thorn in her side. She needed something capable of being deployed to take her down, she had gathered everything she had needed for the procedure including the Alicorn Amulet to use as a power source.

She slowly began putting the pieces together, tightening bolts and reinforcing the Alicorn Amulet matrix. The next few days she spent all day putting her newest weapon together, she grinned as she activated the blue Adept Mecha awoke. She was wearing a blue shirt with matching pants alongside a purple cape and purple magician’s hat.

The adept leapt up her eyes glowing red, she grinned “I am the Great and Powerful Trixie. I will show that pathetic Twilight Sparkle what I am truly made of.”

Winter smiled “Good but that is not all. I am going to build my own Generals this time, clearly using old Mechas didn’t work last time.” Winter Stardream was preparing for another invasion, one that would not be so easily subdued.

Stardream will attack in the next chapter or two.

Chapter 10: Twilight and Sunset

Celestia, Twilight and Sunset were sitting around a large round table in Mysterium Keep. Celestia snarled at Sunset “How could you hide such a thing?! You know the dangers of chaotic beings and that you should have informed me! What if they decided to invade Equestria?!”

Sunset shook her head “There is nothing you could do about it other than make things worse. When I first mentioned you Dyna threw a fit, she doesn’t like the concept of order that Equestria is and wants to keep you as far away from her nation as possible. It is not wise to get involved in diplomacy with someone who hates you and everything you stand for.”

Twilight sighed “Mum, as much as I hate to admit it I think Sunset is right. Queen Dyna didn’t seem interested in speaking with you. If Sunset wasn’t there if could have gotten quite ugly really fast.”

Celestia frowned at the both of them “There what do we tell everyone?”

Sunset frowned “You tell them part of the truth, that you found a society that wants you to leave them alone. You have agreed to do so, keep it vague and it will make it harder for them to really do anything about it.”

Celestia sighed “Well I’m glad you paid attention to something I taught you. I need to address Equestria about all of this.”

As Celestia left to address Equestria Twilight frowned “Sunset, your friends with Queen Dyna right. How did that happen?”

Sunset smiled “I work as part of the expedition team, exploring new lands. It is a lot of fun, you meet a lot of interesting individuals and get see things that no-one has ever seen before. Dyna and I had a fight between the two of us, we both enjoyed the fight so much but I am way ahead of her now.”

Twilight frowned “Did Celestia ever tell you why you were built? She tried to keep it from me.”

Sunset sighed “I was just a tool to her back then. She kept the weapon system away from me so I wouldn’t be able to escape from the castle. With it I was supposed to be stronger than Nightmare Moon.”

Twilight blinked “Nightmare Moon but isn’t she just a legend, I thought she was made up to explain the strange pony face on the moon and was turned into a story to scare foals into behaving.”

Sunset facepalmed “I shouldn’t have told you that, still you will press Celestia for it so I’ll tell you everything and she is not ready to face that yet.” Sunset then sighed “Nightmare Moon is more than just a jealous pony, her name was Luna the Alicorn of the Moon and much more importantly Celestia’s sister but over time ponies started to condemn her and her sister did nothing blinded by the prestige she had.”

Twilight’s eyes widened and she was about to speak but then stopped thinking for a moment. She then sighed “I still have a hard time believing my mentor could do something like that.”

Sunset sighed “I can understand that but if you really care for her then you need to treat her like a normal person. She needs someone to not just listen to her but also correct her when she goes down the wrong path. I did that when I was younger before I got fed up and ran away. You are her daughter, she will listen to you more than she will listen to me.”

Meanwhile Celestia was overlooking the population outside Mysterium Keep “As you are aware we sent a force seeking out a nation that we recently discovered. Their leader is far more powerful than I am and they have made it clear they want to be left alone. I will not risk your safety by irritating them.”

The Nobles began shouting incoherently as the average person shrugged as they saw the Princess leaving and went about their business. Celestia shook her head, she was in no mood. In fact she was in the mood for a training session with Twilight, to let off some steam.

She teleported to the room where Sunset and Twilight were last, Celestia frowned “Twilight how about we do some training. I need to let off some steam.”

Sunset frowned “How about you two train with me, two on one? I can handle two opponents.”

Celestia frowned “Are you sure about this? Twilight is a talented fighter and I am an Alicorn, to face both of us at once.”

Sunset frowned “I had my rematch with Dyna, at twenty percent I had a massive advantage. I’m sure neither you will be able to really hurt me in any way shape or form, in fact I probably will need to hold back against you two.”

Celestia shook her head “I do have some tricks up my sleeve Sunset, don;’t underestimate what I can do. You shouldn’t hold back too much or you’ll be in for a surprise.”

Sunset frowned “Well then we better head to the training fields, I remember them quite well.”

With a click of her fingers the all three of them were standing in the training field. A white Adept Mecha with blue hair ran over and bowed “Princess Celestia we are currently in the middle of our drills. Is there anything you need of us?”

Celestia smiled “Yes Shining Armour, me and Twilight are training with Sunset here. We would ask you to leave the training grounds so we can cut loose so to speak.”

Shining Armour nodded quickly shouting “Everyone, Princess Celestia and her student wishes to spar with Sunset Shimmer! We are to evacuate the premises for them!”

Twilight wrapped the captain of the guard in a mighty hug “BBBFF.”

Sunset blinked in confusion “Um could someone explain to me what is going on?”

Celestia smiled “Well he and Twilight spent a lot of time together as kids. She started to see him as an older brother., I think it had been a positive thing.”

Shining Armour smiled “How is everything LSBFF?”

Twilight bounced excitedly “We’re just about to train with Sunset, she is really strong. I hope to be as strong as her one day.”

At Shining Armour’s concerned look she smiled “Don’t worry big guy, I’ll be holding back. I don’t want to hurt her.” Shining Armour nodded and joined his guards at the edge of the field.

Sunset nodded to the other two as she took position in the middle “Let’s begin.” Twilight and Celestia rushed forward Sunset ducked under a punch before kicking Celestia away.” Twilight fired a powerful blast of magic which Sunset barely dodged, Sunset smiled “That almost got me. Impressive work Twilight.”

Celestia floated into the air as red energy began to coarse around her body, she let out a massive roar “Kaioken x 50!” Sunset blocked Celestia’s barrage of punches and the sent her flying with an uppercut. Celestia growled “Stop messing around with me!”

Sunset smiled “I must admit that technique from that show is quite impressive but it burns up way too much stamina” she grinned at Celestia’s confuse expression “You must know that a someone like me needs to unwind. Juggling parenting, work and training is tough. I also discovered an ability that I could tap into.” The ground began to shake as Sunset screamed out her energy surging as her hair glowed a dark red and began flowing upwards before a huge wave of energy flew out.

Sunset smiled as as she hovered there her dark red hair flowing upwards a dark red aura surrounding her “Behold the power of my Nova form, Celestia you should be able to do this to after all it is a solar based transformation. Still it is overkill for this fight.” Sunset returned to base form drawing out some more power “Let’s go.”

Celestia rushed forward dodging every punch that Celestia through only to let out a small yelp of pain as a powerful blast of magic struck her in the back. Twilight was was breathing heavily “T-take t-that.” Twilight collapsed to the floor unconscious

Sunset frowned “It seems we need to put this on hold while she recovers, still it was mighty impressive she was able to hurt me at all.” Celestia nodded as she powered down taking her daughter away to get some rest while Sunset watched on with a smile.

Part of the reason I included the Dragonballz refernce is for something that will happen in the second part of the story.

Chapter 11: Pre-emptive Stirke

Celestia frowned as she was reading an urgent report from one her scouts, they had discovered a massive factory deep in the mountains far to the west and that suspect it was one of the factories used to manufacture the Mechas.

Celestia frowned as she cast a spell, it was time for her to test her daughter for future events. Twilight entered the room in her armoured form and smiled “Mum, you summoned me for something.”

Celestia nodded “We have located a factory deep in the Great Bravery Mountains, it appears that the factory has been producing a large multitude of Mechas. I wish for you to bring down the facility.”

Twilight smiled “I’ll be on my way.”

Celestia pulled out a small module and inserted it into her arm “This will help you get through small gaps and give you a different form to engage enemies. The details on how to use it are on the chip so you won’t have to learn it, it also contains the co-ordinates of the location.”

Twilight nodded with a smile as she beamed out of the castle “I’ll be back soon.” She landed outside a large factory, she kicked open the door only to be standing in a strange looking forest. She ducked as an arrow coursing with lightning flew by, Twilight mumbled as her hand changed into a blaster “Glad Sunset gave me those circuit hardening enhancements or else I would be in trouble.”

Twilight turned to see a several Mechas in the tree with arrows at a ready, Twilight dodged the arrows and obliterated them with three shots from her blaster. She headed deeper into the forest, the large pristine green trees and pretty flowers covered the landscape. It was a strange experience.

The area was largely barren, it was not long before she found a large out of place metal door. She opened it only to see a tall lightning rood wrapped in steel coils wearing a suit with a monocle covering on of his eyes “It seems someone shouldn’t be here, that said I hate to get my hand dirty so how about we talk before we exchange blows.”

Twilight frowned “Explain why are you here? I know that this facility is one of the ones to construct those that launched the previous attacks on Mysteria. Who are you working for?”

The being smiled “Well first off I’m Lightning Spring, and we’re here at the behest of Winter Stardream. She plans to wipe out all life save herself and Mechas, she will rule for her mortal life then the world will only house Mechas. Sadly you are in the way of our ambitions.”

Twilight frowned “I can’t let you do that, I can’t let innocent people suffer simply because there are bad people out there.”

Spring bounced backwards “Very well, then we have to fight.” Spring began firing bolts of Lightning at Twilight who rapidly dodged each of the as fired shots out of her blaster towards him. She decided to bring the fight to a close as she drew her blade and with single teleport she was in front of him She cut him in half with a single swing, she took a small weapons chip, gaining the lightning spring ability.

She was about to press on only for a red flash of light to appear behind her, she turned around to see a blue girl with red eyes wearing a wizard’s costume grinning “So you’re Twilight Sparkle. I’m Trixie Lulamoon, I was created by Winter Stardream to destroy you and everything you represent.”

Before Twilight could respond Trixie had punched her into the wall before delivering a powerful uppercut sending her skyward only to teleport above her and hammered her back into the ground. Twilight groaned in pain as Trixie landed in front of her with a fearsome grin as her hand transformed into a blaster which began charging up energy “Is that all the famed Daughter of the Sun has to offer? How sad. Oh well I guess it’s time I wipe out your pathetic existence.”

Twilight could hear a voice a familiar voice in her head (Are you really willing to let her beat you so easily! You beat me thoroughly not that long ago, you have my power and your own. You have the potential to be more than this!)

Twilight could see Blade in her mindscape (How are you here?)

Blade laughed (I moved my files onto my weapons chip from where I was stored, evolve and adapt to my power.) He then gave her a serious look (You just need to release it and adapt the Lightning Spring’s powers as well. Become more.)

Twilight nodded as she felt the power of the Blade and Spring coursing through her systems, her purple armour growing thicker and stronger. She stood up and punched Trixie away, her eyes narrowed (So Blade why did you change your mind.)

Blade frowned (I am a warrior, I believed I was liberating us so we could become something more but then I saw your strength. You were strong despite those around you, I just kept quiet until now.)

Twilight blocked one of Trixie’s punches before kicking her away. She then began firing powerful spells at Trixie tearing holes in her body, Trixie was about to attack again only to beamed away in a flash of light. Only for a woman’s face to appear on a screen on one of the walls. Twilight frowned “I assume you must be Winter Stardream?”

Winter nodded with a sigh “Neither of us are right or wrong in my eyes Twilight. We both have conflicting ideals that we are unwilling to compromise on, so prove to me the strength of your convictions and make it to me if you can.” The screen then turned off.

Meanwhile as Twilight moved into the next area Trixie growled “Why did you pull me back here?!”

Winter slumped tears flowing from her eyes“You’re something special, irreplaceable and I can’t bare to lose you. You were made with the power to change this world, you are something more precious than anything else I have ever built. Don’t throw your life away recklessly, you are my gift to this world regardless of whether my plans succeed or fail.”

Trixie remained quiet for a moment before she smiled “Thanks Mum.” Winter placed a hand over her heart softly as Trixie left the room.

Chapter 12: Ice and Fire

Twilight entered the next area only to see the area was small patches of land between lava streams. She jumped as several flaming Mechas leapt out of the lava and much to her shock spat out ice, she dodged the ice and fired her own shots back at them.

Twilight sighed as she cleared out those that were near the small rocky outcrop she was on, she then leapt onto one of the small rocky platforms floating on the lava the first few were fine until the Mechas started shooting ice at her. She desperately tried to shoot back, she was way too big for these small blocks. She then got an idea, she shifted using the upgrade Celestia gave her turning into a small purple unicorn who was able to leap across the rocky platforms.

She changed back into her humanoid form on the other side, and frowned “This is dumb. Who makes ice enemies in a bloody lava area, what could possibly more stupid than that?” Murphy and Finagle were surely listening in at that moment as she laid her eyes upon a massive ice block floating over the lava, her eye began to twitch”Are you fucking kidding me with this shit?!”

She stormed towards the ice block and saw a door allowing one entrance. She jumped over the lava punching through the door and entered the room only to see a lava chamber inside with a female Mecha that looked it was made of molten steel, the Mecha grinned as ice flowed between her fingers “I am Molten Ice, guardian of the Lava Flows.”

Twilight growled “Okay why is this bloody lava area full of enemies using ice?! It doesn't make you any more of a threat than if you were using fire, it’s just so fucking stupid! I didn’t even know this was here, I was expecting a standard fucking factory!”

Molten Ice laughed “We designed it so that no-one would expect it, Winter Stardream had this plan ready for a long time. She just needed speed along things a little bit that is all.”

Twilight’s eyes narrowed “I can’t allow her plans to continue and that means I have to go through you first.”

Molten Ice grinned “Let’s see you try and get past me.” She jumped back firing ice spears at opponent.

Twilight dodged the before firing a cannon shots at the figure “I’m not going to lose to some ice lava hybrid abomination!” She teleported onto the icy figure and slammed them into the ground, she had to dodge as Molten Ice’s chest opened up and fired a beam of ice. Twilight snarled “That was cheap trick!”

Molten Ice laughed “Well yes it was but I’m here win not play fair. Now then I’m going to finish this…”

Twilight teleported in front of the figure shoving a sword through her mouth “You have talked too much.” She then delivers multiple slashed tearing Molten Ice into pieces before firing a charged blast leaving nothing a small chip landing on the ground.

Twilight put it into her weapons system giving her the ability to shoot ice spears, as soon as she did a portal opened to a world of ice and snow. She jumped through the portal only for a strange Mecha yeti to jump out of the snow and belch fire, Twilight leapt out of the way and blew it up with a cannon shot.

Twilight sighed as she looked around the snowy environment, the yetis walking along the snow with flying snowballs with rings of fire floating around them “So Winter Stradream likes everything to be reversed? I am going to have a field day with her when we meet.”

She took down the flying orbs with repeated shots from her cannon while cutting apart the yetis with her sword. As she travelled through the snow-like world she could see a lab in the distance, soon she approached huge floating cube of molten rock that was somehow not melting any of the snow around it, she leapt into the cube.

A massive Mecha made of ice stood there chuckled “So what may call you, hero of Mysteria?”

Twilight frowned she didn’t want to be famous, she then focused on him as idea popped into her mind “I am Megamare and I will destroy you for the sake of all who live.”

The massive Ice Mecha grinned “Well then I, Pyro Frost will burn you to cinders.” Twilight dodged as he belched out balls of fire before leaping towards him with a snarl preparing to cut him part. He unlike her previous opponents despite his massive bulk was able to keep out of range of her swings, Twilight switched up tactics turning into a lightning spring that leapt over the balls of fire while zapping the icy Mecha.

It was not long before the Icy Mecha collapsed from the electrical assault, Twilight stood over the Mecha as he weakly pointed to the portal that had just appeared “This place was only actually half finished, that way is to the where Winter waits you.”

His body crumbled as she picked up the flame cannon power up chip and inserted it into her weapon systems. She then headed into the portal arriving outside of a massive factory style building, Twilight frowned “Why is there a factory inside a factory?”

She shook her head as headed into the factory only to see Winter Stardream’s turn up on a screen “I knew you weren’t someone to be underestimated, I knew this would happen. You and I will face each other in combat, I am waiting you at the top of the factory There are no hostiles forces in your way.” Twilight frowned as the image vanished keeping her guard up as she entered the large rooms full of machines.

Chapter 13: Defeat of Stardream

Twilight continued through the room of machines before entering an open room at the end. Winter Stardream was standing next to Trixie, she smiled “Ah Megamare it’s a pleasure to meet you. Maybe you don’t realise this but all of this has been shown to the entire world, now it’s time for the final confrontation between you and me.”

Twilight frowned “So let me guess you are going to attack me with some massive machine?”

Winter shook her head as her arms shifted into metal blades “You see I was born without limbs and had to use prosthetics. You and I are going to fight one on one, Trixie is just here to watch.” Winter rushed forward only for Twilight to block the attack with her own blade, Winter grinned “Your quite capable. It seems that at least your mentor got the fighting part down pat.”

Twilight began swinging back rapidly “She taught me everything I know Winter, I am who I am today because of her. I’m not about to lose to you.”

Winter grinned “I must admit the power you have is quite impressive but you’re going to have to do better than that.” Twilight jumped backwards as Stardream's attacks became faster and more ferocious.

Twilight muttered “I hope I can pull this off, I don't know if this will even work but” she then focused her magic into her body as she let out a mighty roar “Kaioken!” The red aura crackled around her body, she shattered both swords with a single swing before pointing the sword at Winter “Yield.”

Winter nodded “ I yield, just take me back to the Capital.”

Trixie frowned “I’m coming with, she’s my mother and I won’t let any harm come to her.” Twilight nodded and using a quick spell bound them before beaming out with them.

Celestia smiled at the nobles as Twilight returned with the bound Winter and Trixie “You did an amazing job out here, watched the whole thing.” she then turned to the group of seven guards “You will escort these two to the dungeons immediately.”

As the guards escorted Winter and Trixie away, Twilight frowned “What are we going to do now. The threat has been stopped before it could do anymore harm.”

Celestia frowned “What would you have us do with them, they have caused a great amount of harm to us and I’m not sure it would be wise to let them go?”

Twilight frowned “I say we should keep them under arrest in the castle, Winter Stardream is certainly a capable person and her knowledge could be every useful. The nobles will likely stir up a fuss but they always do that, a bit of mercy goes a long way.”

Celestia sighed “My daughter you made the right choice and the one I wouldn’t have made. I wouldn’t have given her a second chance, I’m learning from you as much as your are learning from me. I have some private affairs that I need to take care of.”

Celestia teleported away, she was now in her lab looking over the framework of a Mecha small computer making up the basis for it’s brain. She began making a light pinkish purple metal casing for the Mecha, she smiled as she looked down at the Mecha “You may end up being my greatest creation, 003 Starlight Glimmer. Still the world won’t be ready for you for a long time.”

Meanwhile a pink Sanctis was roaming the hallways, she smiled as she saw Twilight and ran over to the young Mecha. Twilight turned and the two bounced up and down smiling “Sunshine, sunshine ladybugs awake clap your hands and do a little shake.” Twilight smiled “It’s good to see you again Cadence.”

Cadence frowned “I’m not sure you should be putting yourself in danger like this, you have almost died once. How can your mother put you in such danger.”

Twilight grimaced “I have a destiny ahead of me, one my mum is preparing me for. I have an idea of what it is but I won’t say anything. Still I won’t hesitate to do the duty that I was built for.”

Cadence shook her head “Twilight you are not just Celesta’s tool, you have choice in this matter.”

Twilight growled “If I’m not there then I may doom the world, this is bigger than me or Celestia! I’m not sure you can understand what that means!”

A familiar voice came from the door “Twilight, don’t be rude to Cadence. She is trying to help you.” Cadence froze as she saw the figure, Sunset sighed “I’m not going to hurt you Cadence, I’m to check on Twilight.”

Cadence shivered “You just saying that, you always hated me.”

Sunset sighed “I was a real bitch back then, if I wasn’t fighting with Celestia I was taking my frustrations out on you.” She then turned to the window “I am not the same person I was all those years ago. I’ve carved out my own path, destiny is something you fail. There is no such thing as fate but there is such a thing as destiny. It is something you can fail and it is never static always changing.”

Twilight rested her hand on Cadence “Sunset saved my life, she had no reason to do so but she did. She deserves a second chance.”

Cadence sighed “I’ll try to Twilight but it won’t be easy.” Twilight smiled hoping that Cadence would be able to reconcile with Sunset.

Chapter 14: Sunset and Cadence

Cadence was nervously walking next to Sunset “So how’s life, anything special happening?”

Sunset smiled “My daughters Solaria and Moonshadow began school a few days ago. I had to pick them up after school over the last few days, thankfully Strider was able to pick them up today.”

Cadence blinked “You have kids, who is the father!”

Sunset gave Cadence a sad smile “Strider is, we’ve been married for a while now. We met when he found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, one of the more violent gangs was after him. Simply a coincidence that I was walking down the street, only to see it happening.”

Cadence blinked “You decided to fight them, for what reason. What possibly reason could you have doing such a thing.”

Sunset frowned “I’m still not sure, I just stand and watch as someone was killed. They were carrying knives and he wouldn’t have gotten out of there alive, they made the mistake of thinking they could take me.”

Cadence blinked “I didn’t know there was a big gang in Mirestorm.”

Sunset grinned “Oh they are still there but when I say jump they jump. They keep quiet but still keeps out the lesser gangs from having wars in the streets.” They arrived outside a small donut shop, Sunset entered only to see a tall, muscular Adept making donuts. Sunset grinned “Donut Joe.”

Donut Joe turned to her in shock “Sunset, why haven’t you visited my store in years!”

Sunset sighed “So you didn’t here the word, I don’t live in Mysterium anymore. I live all the way in Mirestorm, me and Celestia had a major falling out. The only reason I am giving her a second chance because of her new student Twilight.”

Joe frowned “I really need to keep up with the goings on in this city. Staying in the donut store doesn’t help me match in knowing what is going on here” he then smiled “still I’m glad your giving Celestia a chance.”

Sunset nodded with a slight smile “She treats Twilight like she is most precious thing, when I was working on repairing Twilight Celestia never left the room. She almost incinerated a noble for trying to get her to leave, Twilight is the heart of the sun and I doubt that Celestia will let any harm come to her. Besides if they try and Celestia can’t stop them then I will step in.”

Joe then turned to Cadence with a smile “Ah Princess Cadence has joined us, I’m glad you two are making up. You two plus Twilight are my favourite customers and now you’re both here. I’ll set up your favourite platters.”

Cadence blinked “Wait you consumed platters, the only reason I do is because as a Sanctis my body needs more energy to function.”

Sunset laughed “Cadence, Mechas don’t get fat. Our bodies find a use for everything, I’m still not exactly sure how my body works. I have more gadgets and gizmos then I know what to do with.” She blinked as a fire hose came out of her shoulder “That’s new.”

Cadence raised an eyebrow “You didn’t know that was in there? How many gadgets do you have?”

Sunset smiled “Quite a few, mostly weapons of some kind. When I was built form what I can tell Celestia put a lot of random junk in me, I think there was a cake machine in there somewhere.”

Cadence laughed “Celestia does love her cake, I found her one day sitting down in her room eating cakes for about an hour. Even for a Sanctis that is a lot of food.”

Sunset grinned “Oh she almost has panic attack when I hid every cake in the castle” she then sighed “when she found out she did this to me.” Sunset pulled up a piece of her shirt revealing a large vicious scar across her stomach.

Cadence’s eyes widened as she looked closer at the scar that marred the synthetic flesh, it clearly hadn’t healed properly. The fact that was there a scar to begin with was enough proof but it really hit home how badly Sunset was treated, the damage was as if the wound took years to heal “No wonder you treated me so badly. Does Twilight know she did this?”

Sunset shook her head “I’m not going to ruin her image of her mother like that, she worships the ground that Celestia walks on. I don’t want to ruin her image of her mother.”

Cadence grimaced “Fine but I will talk to Celestia about this, what she did was unacceptable!”

Sunset sighed “I can’t stop you but don’t make too big a deal of this, Celestia still has to run Mysteria unless you want to fill in for her.”

Cadence growled “She needs to understand Sunset, we may not have been close but if this is how she treated you in the past it’s no wonder you took it out on me! What happened to me is her fault as much as it yours!”

Sunset eyes narrowed as she looked at Cadence “Don’t let hatred consume you because once you do there is no way back. When I ran away I had the opportunity to kill Celestia there but I didn’t. I was seeking freedom, not vengeance but the thought crossed my mind a lot for the first few years.”

Cadence grimaced “I will still to talk about with her but maybe I am letting myself get too angry about this.” It was then the conversation was dropped as Donut Joe provided them with donuts which they dug into to.

Chapter 15: Confrontation

Celestia was standing in court, Trixie and Winter Stardream were standing in front of them. Several nobles were watching on intently as Celestia looked at the two of them “Now with all rights, I should destroy both of you but my student had a different idea. I’m going to give you a chance to use your knowledge to better Mysteria. Just know that this will be your last chance.”

The most prestigious noble stepped forward “Princess, you can’t be serious! She has invaded several cities and almost killed you!”

Celestia turned to him with a glare “Silence, this is my call!”

Winter bowed as her hand glowed with magic offering it forward “I swear that I will serve you to the day of my death.”

Celestia smiled as her hand glowed with her own magic “I swear that as long as you obey no harm will come to you on my watch.” Their magic entangled binding one to the other. Celestia then commanded “Winter Stardream, you are free to go. Please report anything you discover to me.”

Trixie frowned as the pair left “Are you sure that was wise? This means your plan went down the drain.”

Winter grimaced “The plan was a long shot to being with, I knew of Sunset and how she would oppose me. Even if I had an army of you of wouldn't make any difference, I’m not the only one with such plans but some of those others lack the respect for Mechas that I have. They will find another way to weaponise Mechas and they might now be so willing, we need to be ready for the next hurdle.”

Trixie grinned “Maybe I could go on one of the raids along Twilight, it may just be fun.” Winter laughed as she considered it.

Meanwhile Celestia had just returned to her room only for Cadence to enter with a scowl “We need to talk.”

Celestia knew that this wouldn't be something for anyone else to hear so she cast a soundproofing spell on the room before frowning “Cadence, what is that has you scowling at me?”

Cadence growled “Why did you treat Sunset so badly?! I saw the scar on her body, it would haven taken years of repairing that wound for it to scar like that! From how you built her, she would not have been damaged that easily!”

Celestia rubbed her forehead “Cadence I well aware of how I screwed up and how it affected Sunset. I’m trying to be be better now.”

Cadence grimaced “It affected more than just her, I’m trying to build up a relationship with her. She took her anger that she had towards you on me because she needed an outlet and that’s your fault, you made her feel unloved.”

Celestia grimaced “I’m sorry about that Cadence but at the time I was more concerned for my subjects safety than those close to me. Soon an old enemy will arrive and at the time I needed someone to stop should I fail to do so but now I have another plan.”

Cadence grimaced “What is this plan? Because I get the feeling I’m not going to like this plan very much!”

Celestia grimaced “Nightmare Moon was once known by another name, she was Princess Luna my sister. But I was blind to her pain and eventually she turned against me, I had to banish her to the moon but soon she will return and when she does Twilight will make friends with five girls that I have either arranged to live in Ponyville or are already there. Together they will use the elements to save my sister from her darkness.”

Cadence snarled “Are you nuts?! You’re going to put your daughter under such risk for something stupid like that!”

Celestia snarled “What else am I supposed to do, kill my sister for something that is my fault! No this is the only way that I can save my sister!” She then teleported Cadence out of the room.

Cadence fumed as she stormed back to her room only for Sunset to frown “You confronted Celestia didn’t you, what did she say?”

Cadence growled “She told me that she was going to use Twilight to save her sister. I can’t allow her to put Twilight at such risk.”

Sunset frowned “I am well aware of her plans but what she is not aware of is that I will be ghosting Twilight along the way. Should anything be too much for Twilight to handle, I will step in. Consider me the training wheels. I promise you that Twilight be safe.”

Cadence smiled “Thanks Sunset, Twilight is quite a precious thing.” She the frowned “I must admit I was in a dark place for a long time, not because of you but because of what was expected of me. I had a grand destiny ahead of me and to this day I have no idea what that is.”

Sunset smiled “I know who you are, you are the destined Crystal Empress. The one destined to rebuild the world from a calamity that will happen soon, one that has been written in the ancient annals of the Draconequi. Any more information couldn’t ruin your destiny, for right now live life as normal. I trust when the time comes you will be ready for it.”

Cadence smiled weakly “I’ll try not to think on it, it will difficult but I can do this” she then frowned “my focus should be on Twilight right now. She will have a great amount of problems in her future but I will do my best to take care of her.”

Sunset smiled as Cadence left to find Twilight, tears began to form in Sunset’s eyes “The future will not be easy for either of you but I know you two will stand strong in the face of destiny.”
