Dragon on the Moon
What Happend?
Previous ChapterNext ChapterOnce the ambulance arrived at the hospital, the EMTs wheeled Spike into the emergency room. Luna was running behind them bear foot, she was responsible for Spike until his parents showed up. But once Spike was wheeled through the ER's pre op doors, she was stopped by the attending nurses. "Ma'am, you can't go inside, I'm sorry but you need to take a seat in the waiting room until we know his condition." Said the nurse.
Luna nodded. "Ok, but can you please contact his family, they need to know what's happened?" Asked Luna.
The nurse smiled. "Of course, but first let me get you some slippers and something warm to drink, if I don't you might need to go through those doors next."
Luna looked down to her feet. "That's right I tossed off my shoes before all of this happened." She looked at the nurse. "Thanks, my names Luna Solaris by the way, its nice to meet you."
"Evelin Redheart." Said the nurse. "I'll go grab you a cup of the strong stuff in the back. Waiting room coffee is junk." Said Evelin as she walked into the nurses area. Luna walked over to one of the chairs in the waiting room. 'In less than 30 minutes I almost got Spike killed, and for what, just to get a stupid book onto a shelf I was too short to reach.' Thought Luna. "Here you go dear." Said Evelin as she handed Luna a cup of coffee, and a pair of patient slippers.
Luna smiled as she took the slippers, she tossed them on the ground and slid her cold feet into the warm footwear. Luna then took the coffee out of Evelin's hands and took a drink to warm her insides. Luna looked at Evelin. "Evelin, is Spike going to be ok?" Asked Luna.
She sighed. "Well the good news is that his leg is just fractured, it will take time to heal, but it could have been worse. But the head injury on the other hand appears to of caused a slight concussion. He is awake right now but until we know more he needs to stay calm and awake until we know more."
Luna started to cry. 'What have I done?' Thought Luna. Evelin wrapped Luna into a hug. "Hey calm down, he was responsive when they brought him in, and its just a formality until the swelling goes down, he should be fine."
Luna stopped crying as she looked at Evelin. "Thanks."
Evelin smiled. "Of course, just call if you need anything?"
"Wait did someone call his family?" Asked Luna.
Evelin nodded. "Yep, there coming in right now."
Suddenly a tall man with dark blue hair, and a woman with purple and gray hair, both dressed in business suits ran into the waiting room. "Hello? Is my baby boy ok?" Asked the woman in tears.
"You must be here about Spike. Yes, his leg is fractured and he has a small concussion, he is awake and responsive, but until he's cleared for visitors you need to stay out side." Said Evelin.
They both nodded as they took seats in the waiting room. Luna looked at them. She had met them both when Twilight was a student at CHS, it was Night Light and Twilight Velvet. Luna was about to speak, but she was wrapped in a hug by Velvet. "Thank you for saving my baby boy, Ms. Solaris."
Luna sighed as she wrapped Velvet into a hug. "I'm so sorry Velvet, this was all my fault." Said Luna. Luna released the woman and looked at Night Light. "Night Light, I need to tell you what happened." Said Luna.
Night Light nodded. "Please, I want to know."
After a 20 minute explanation to Spike's parents about what happened in the library, Luna was ready for their anger. "And that's it." Said Luna.
Night Light sighed. "Ok, this was not how I expected to spend my Monday morning." He looked at Luna. "Ms. Solaris, I am not angry at anyone for this happening, it would be pointless to be angry right now. Spike needs us to be calm and collected, it was not your intension to hurt our son, and he risked his life to save yours. You also did everything in your power to help Spike when he needed you the most. For that I am grateful." Said Night Light. "But this will effect his studies, and seeing as this is his final year at CHS, we want him to succeed. So to make sure that he is not going to fall behind, could you keep him up to date on what he will miss while he is not able to go to school?" Asked the man.
Luna nodded. "Of course, its the least I could do." Said Luna. "I'll drop by your home everyday and give Spike his assignments, any notes he will need, and I'll help him as much as I can."
Velvet smiled as she took Night Lights hand. "Thank you Luna. We appreciate this, but the only problem is that Spike doesn't live with us, he lives with his sister, Twilight."
Luna nodded. "It doesn't matter to me, I'll be there, I just need the address." Said Luna.
Velvet nodded, she pulled out a small note pad from her purse and wrote the address on the paper. Once it was done she handed it to Luna. "Here you go."
Suddenly Evelin walked into the waiting room. "Spike Drake has been cleared for visitors, and he would like to see you Luna, he's worried about you."
Luna looked confused, she looked to Velvet and Night Light. Velvet nodded. "Go ahead, Twilight and her friends will be here in a minute and we shouldn't crowd Spike so soon."
Luna nodded as she walked through the doors to the ER rooms, following Evelin. Luna walked down the halls following the nurse. "So how is he right now?" Asked Luna.
Evelin smiled. "Well, we were wrong, Spike's concussion was not as bad as we first thought, in fact, he didn't have one at all. He probably passed out from the pain when the bookcase fell on him. We always expect the worst so when we're wrong its always a great relief, but he's lucky, all he has are a few stiches on the back of his head, but his leg is the same as before. Right now he's on a lot of pain killers, and he's sorta out of it, but he still wanted to see you." Said Evelin as she arrived at Spikes door. She knocked and stuck her head in. "Spike, how are you feeling?" Asked Evelin.
Spike chuckled. "Pretty good, but I can't feel my leg." Said Spike clearly feeling the effects of the pain killers. "I feel like a pirate now."
Evelin giggled. "I know, your not going to feel it for a while. But guess what, I brought Luna."
Spike smiled as he laughed. "You did, thanks, your the best."
Luna looked to Evelin. "He's really out of it, so he might say some stuff that doesn't make sense, just be patient." Said Evelin as she walked away.
Luna nodded as she walked in to see Spike. "Spike." Said Luna.
Spike looked at Luna. "Luna, your ok, thank god. I was so worried. Wait, why are you at the hospital?" Asked Spike, he then looked around. "Wait why am I at the hospital, I should be at school helping Ms. Inkwell." Spike then looked to Luna. "Luna why are you here?" Asked Spike.
Luna chuckled as she moved his hair out of his face. She sat on the side of his bed. "Well, I needed to thank my knight in shining armor."
Spike laughed. "You know who you sounded like just now?" Asked Spike.
Luna giggled as she shook her head. "No, who?"
"A friend of mine, who asked me on a date, I have plans to meet her on Wednesday." Spike laughed as he looked at his leg. "I guess I'll have to cancel." Spike shrugged. "But I know she'll understand, she's a great person, kind, strong, smart, a cute voice, and a great gamer."
Luna giggled. "Really, you game?" Asked Luna.
Spike nodded. "Yeah, I'm a big deal in a game called Dream Realm."
Luna raised an eyebrow. "Really, well I just so happen to play Dream Realm when I have time, maybe we can meet up sometime when you get out of here."
Spike smiled. "Sure, I go by Sir Dracon online." Spike gasped. "Wow, you would love Lunar, you two are so alike." Then Spike started to laugh. "Luna, Lunar, Luna, Lunar. You know the more I say the two, the more I think that your Lunar, Luna." Said Spike.
Luna looked at Spike worried. "Spike, by chance did you talk to your friend last night?" Asked Luna.
Spike shook his head. "Nooo." Luna sighed. 'That was close, he must be talking about another Lunar.' Thought Luna. "We talked this morning, it was around 1 in the morning when we logged off, were meeting at the coffee shop on 17th and Elwood to talk about how to beat a raid boss." Said Spike.
Luna groaned. 'Of course, Dracon is a great guy like Spike.' Thought Luna. She smiled at Spike. "Spike, I have something to tell you. You won't have to cancel your date with Lunar."
Spike sighed. "Really, that's great, I have waited 2 years to finally meet her." Said Spike, he looked at Luna. "I hope she's like you Luna."
Luna looked surprised. "How so?"
Spike blushed as he chuckled. "Well, your beautiful, your kind, dependable, and you got a great ass and chest, to me, your perfect."
Luna blushed. For years, she had known what the students thought about her, but she knew she was second to her sister. "But what about Celestia? She's better looking than me."
Spike shook his head. "Nope, your perfect, don't get me wrong, Principal Celestia is hot, but your more." Said Spike.
"More what?" Asked Luna.
Spike smiled as he yawned. "More you." Said Spike as he fell asleep, the pain killers were hitting him hard.
Luna blushed. Never had she been called so many nice things, more over she had never been called them by such a great guy as Spike. Luna sighed, she was in her late 20's, she practically had no love life, and the man she has loved for the last 2 years is laying on the bed in front of her. 'Screw it, I'm not letting him get away from me.' Thought Luna. Luna took a deep breath to calm her nerves, she leaned down to Spike's face and kissed Spike's lips.
Once Luna finished kissing Spike, she smiled at him. "Spike, I love you, my Dragonkin Knight." Said Luna. "Get some sleep." Said Luna as she walked out of his room.
Luna walked past Evelin. "Hey Evelin, Spike fell asleep, I think the pain killers are working."
Evelin nodded. "Good, since he didn't have a concussion, he should be fine. Do you want me to call you a taxi?" Asked Evelin.
Luna nodded. "Yes, thank you, I have some cash at my house, I kinda left my purse at the school." Luna yawned. "What time is it?"
Evelin smiled. "It's about 10."
Luna smiled. "Ok, can you call me with any change in his condition?" Asked Luna.
Evelin smiled. "Sure. Have a good day, Spike is probably going to be staying overnight just for observation, so don't expect any calls."
Luna nodded. She walked out of the ER area, and smiled at Night Light and Velvet, but now there were some new additions, Twilight and her friends arrived. Twilight ran over to Luna and slapped her face. "That's for hurting my brother." Then she pulled Luna into a hug as she started to cry. "And this is for saving him." Said Twilight.
Luna understood how Twilight was feeling. Luna returned the hug. "I'm sorry, but he's going to be fine." Said Luna.
Twilight smiled. "Good, how is he doing?"
Luna smiled. "Good, but he's really up there, he just fell asleep, so if you are going to see him, just be quiet. I need to head home and tell Celestia about what happened." Said Luna.
Twilight nodded. "Ok, my parents also told me what your going to do, I have class most days, so it will just be you and Spike for a while until dark, he won't be able to cook for a while, so if I get the supplies, could you cook for him as well?" Asked Twilight.
Luna nodded. "Sure, I'm at least capable of cooking for someone, unlike my sister."
Rarity winced. "How bad could Celestia be?" Asked Rarity.
Luna sighed. "She has destroyed 5 pans, 2 pots, one cast iron skillet, and a waffle iron, and that's all been just this year." Luna looked at Twilight. "Ms. Sparkle, I understand that what I did was stupid, and I want to make it up to Spike." Said Luna.
Twilight smiled. "Thank you Luna."
Luna nodded. "Why don't you go see him, I'm going to head back to my home, I will drop by after school tomorrow to check on Spike, and bring him all the assignments that he has missed today." Said Luna, she looked outside as the taxi arrived. "It looks like my ride just showed." She looked at Twilight. "Twilight, I will do my best for Spike." Said Luna.
Twilight smiled as she gave Luna one last hug. "Thanks Luna, your the best." Said Twilight.
Luna smiled as she walked out of the hospital. She got into the taxi. "Where to ma'am?" Asked the driver.
"Get me to my house, 1478 West Custer Road." Said Luna.
"On it." Said the driver as he drove off to the address.
'I hope Spike is ready for some of the special lessons I have planned for him?' Thought Luna as she was driven to her home.
