A Glimmer of Sparkly Glowing Hope
One Problem after the Next
Previous ChapterNext ChapterThe next two weeks were pretty uneventful for the fillies.
Things were going well, until they noticed they were starting to run out of baking supplies.
"We need to get food from somewhere! Can you make bits?" Cozy asked Twilight.
"We're fillies, Cozy! And you know as well as I that most Canterlot snobs won't hire anypony younger than twenty!"
"Magic some Bits up!"
Twilight tried to create bits out of magic, or at least teleport some in.
"Wait! I have an idea!" Cozy produced one bit. "Duplication! You said that was easy."
Twilight nodded and used her magic to duplicate the bit.
Soon. The room was full of bits.
"Alright, now let's get to the store," Twilight said.
Cozy loaded up a saddlebag with bits.
The two headed off to the store to purchase more food and supplies.
"I hate Canterlot," Cozy mumbled as she heard so many ponies insult her and Twilight.
"So do I, but it's not like we have anywhere else to go," Twilight sighed.
"Sadly," Cozy added.
As they walked to the store, one pony threw a rock at them.
"Hey! Watch it!" Twilight shouted as she caught it in her magic.
She threw it back, hitting him in the head.
"Pfft."
"Unicorns here are all talk, no bite," Twilight muttered as they entered the store.
"I just want to get me some damn bacon."
"I'm in the mood for burgers myself. Split the bits and get what we want, or do you want to stick together?"
"The hell do you think my answer is? Of course, I'm sticking with you!" Cozy stated.
"Of course. What was I thinking?" Twilight chuckled as they went to the meat section.
"I'm actually pretty good at cooking, so we can just get the meat and then go home if you want..."
"Yeah. I don't want to spend any more time here than we have to."
Cozy nodded. "Pick out all the meat you want then." She said as they reached the meat section.
They strolled down the aisle, Twilight using her magic to pick out all of the meat she wanted.
They ignored all the talking they heard to the best of their abilities.
One comment, though, stood out to them both.
"That unicorn is a disgrace, hanging out with a pathetic horsefly."
"What did you just say?!?!" Twilight shouted.
"Twilight, calm down. We shouldn't cause a scene-"
"Quiet you! Horseflies should not talk back to their superiors!"
"You take that back right now!" Twilight screamed.
"Twilight it's okay! Let's just-"
"That disgrace of a unicorn told you her name?!?!"
"....what did you just call her?"
"A disgrace. Which is what she is!"
"Hold me back Twilight." Cozy said before flying towards him, Twilight holding her back by her tail.
"As if a pathetic excuse for a pony like you could even hurt me!"
"One more crack like that and we'll both pound you!" Twilight shouted.
"Two malnourished foals, and ones a horsefly. I'm terrified."
"I'm gonna choke you with your own fucking guts!" Cozy screamed.
"No, Cozy, first we rip out his vocal cords. THEN we choke him with his own guts."
"Ugh. Such vulgar little rats," he said, turning away from them and casually pulling out a phone to call the guard, "Let's see if a little time in the dungeon won't clean up your behavior."
Twilight blasted his phone out of his hoof with magic.
"This is between the three of us."
"Gah! Little bitch!" he said, erecting a paper-thin shield around himself and pulling out his other phone, quickly speed dialing the guard.
Cozy noticed a few stallions rushing over to help most likely their friend.
"Twilight we should go. Now."
"Okay. I... I'll teleport us out," Twilight said, already gathering her magic.
"Are you sure you can handle it?" Cozy asked with worry.
"No, but we don't have another choice," Twilight said before casting the spell.
She teleported them right back into the bakery, with all of the meat they picked out.
"That was way too close," Twilight gasped out.
As the pair gathered themselves, they realized that there was an awful lot of ponies hanging out in front of the bakery.
Twilight tentatively pushed open the window so she could hear what they were saying.
It was awfully small conversation, as if the ponies were merely killing time, waiting for something.
"Twilight What's going on?" Cozy asked as she approached the window.
"The ponies outside are waiting for something. What, I have no idea," Twilight explained.
Cozy noticed a large, unmarked carriage parked across the street.
As she watched, a courier knocked on the back door, a guard opened the door, and then the guard paid for something.
"Any idea whose carriage that is?" Twilight asked.
"No, but I do recognize that that's a Guard. I think we need to go!"
Twilight started to gather her magic for another teleport, but her horn sparked.
"Damn it. I'm completely drained for now. I can't do another teleport!"
The guards suddenly poured out of the carriage, realizing the fillies had noticed them.
Cozy Glow got a basket and put all the remaining food into it and her saddle bags. She pushed under Twilight and had her get on her back.
"Then we fly!"
"Are you sure you can carry everything?" Twilight asked worriedly.
"I'm gonna have to!"
"FILLIES. COME OUT WITH YOUR HOOVES IR WE WILL COME IN! WE ARR AUTHORIZED TO USE LETHAL FORCE IF NECESSARY."
"Then hurry, Cozy! I don't know how much time we have!"
The unicorns erect a shield over the house, preventing them from running, "THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE!"
