Wallflower frowned at Sunset as they walked through the corridors of the school with the rest of their group alongside them “Why was Rainbow Dash so eager for us to meet her in the music room? Is there some important school event that we have missed.”

Sunset frowned as she thought about it for a moment before replying “Well I’d assume it has something to do with music. Why else would be going to the music room?”

Cozy smiled “I can play a Cello, probably not as well as Octavia Melody but I have spent the last year practising. I wonder what other instruments the rest of us could play.”

Rarity smiled “Well I have played a piano for years, my favourite instrument considering everything. She then frowned “It is a bit big to carry around, maybe I need to learn another instrument.”

Fluttershy was about comment when the group arrived and entered the music room only to see Rainbow with a guitar. A drum set behind her with a tambourine and keytar laying there, Rainbow grinned “The reason why I called you here was that the musical showcase is coming up and I was hoping for us to form a band together.”

Gilda raised an eyebrow “There is nine of us here, that makes for quite a large band. We are on our way to making a rock symphony here.”

Sunset smiled “I’m sure we can make it work, Flash taught me how to play a guitar. Probably the only hobby I ever had to be honest, I am a decent player.”

Gilda shrugged “Well if you are really serious about this I can play a violin and fiddle. They are technically the same instrument but I know both styles of playing.”

Wallflower smiled “I’m a flute player, I just hope it’s not too quiet for all of you.”

Rainbow looked at all of them with a smile “I came with a name of the band, I was thinking Unity. Do you think it is a good name?” Everyone nodded with a smile, Rainbow smiled as she put her hand down “We are more than just a band, we are a family.We may be damaged, we may be scarred but we are coming together as one and no matter what happens we stand together.”

Gilda put a hand over Rainbow’s “To reigniting old bonds.”

Sunset put her hand on Gilda’s “To finding one’s place.”

Cozy joined next “To overcoming one’s past and moving into the future.”

Wallflower smiled “To being accepted and loved.”

Fluttershy smiled as she placed her hand “To standing up for yourself.”

Pinkie Pie smiled as placed a hand down “To sharing one’s pain with those who you hold close.”

Rarity smiled as looked to Cozy “To not judge another by first impressions.”

Applejack placed her hand on top “To be honest with those around you.” The group shouted “To family!”

Rainbow grinned “Now let’s rock these halls, everyone grab your instruments.” It took a while but everyone found their instruments save Applejack.

Sunset smiled “I can take you to your home and get what you need, just close your eyes.” One flash away as both Sunset and Applejack were gone, they returned with Sunset’s guitar and Applejack’s banjo. Soon they began to play the instruments slowly melding together as Rainbow began to sing.

I let my go blind me to the truth, I left my friends behind

Alone I wandered as I let my anger fester

My old wounds eating away at me

I was falling apart at the seems

Then a light came shining on, restoring what I lost

I thought I could continue on undaunted

That all would return to what was

That we could all be good friends

Then as thought about my actions

I realised that we weren’t as close

That I had hurt my friends with my arrogance and pride

I knew I had to fix this somehow

Sunset joined in with a smile gesturing at their friends.

Your are not alone my friend and we will fix this together

Scars of the past tear at us but together we are strong

We have grown stronger for our hardships

Become better people and better friends

Rainbow smiled “I believe I’d say that this first band meeting as been a success, I was at little unsure about this idea but it seems to be working really well.”

Gilda grinned “If I knew we could play music like this together I would put more effort back then to get know everyone here.”

Cozy smiled holding the school Cello in place “I needed bring my Cello here for the next Band meeting. I’m honestly glad to be apart of a group, no-one ever including me in anything before.”

Sunset hugged the girl with a smile “Well that’s not the case anymore, you are surrounded by friends. We will not leave you behind no matter what happens.”

Wallflower smiled “I’m glad to be here as well, it’s nice to do something with others for a change. Still I will need to take time to take care of the garden as well.”

Rarity smiled “I’ll come over and help you with that some time. It sounds like beautiful place to visit, maybe I can even come with some floral designs for you if you wish. She then grinned “We need band outfits, I need to get ready right away.”

Rainbow laughed “I’m glad we’re all back together again, and with new friends amongst the old. I’d say we can overcome all the challenges in front of us.”

Fluttershy smiled “I’d like to w rite some songs for the band, I have always enjoyed making up lyrics. So do you want go again, we will need some more practice if we want to perform in front of a live audience.”

Pinkie grinned as bounced up and down “Let’s do it, I would love to play more.” The group laughed at Pinkie’s excitement before getting ready for another run through not knowing that three girls carrying red gems had just entered the school.
