The whole band was together for another practice, Rainbow grinned “Let’s give our new song a run through shall we.”

Gilda grinned her violin resting against her neck, Sunset, Applejack and Rarity had their banjo, guitar and keytar ready. Fluttershy was holding her tambourine as Wallflower was holding her flute, Pinkie was shaking eagerly on her drums. Rainbow began strumming with a smile a faint sky blue glow forming around her, as Pinkie’s drum started up the pink surrounded by a faint dark pink glow.

I can feel the wind, rain and sky

My heart beating in my chest

My wings flapping behind me

As I feel the freedom within

Sunset smiled as she took the lead a faint dark red glow shining around her while Rainbow’s guitar fell into the background

I can feel the fire within me

My friends fanning the flames

Of friendship within me

I can feel them within me

The rest group slowly joined in, a faint green glow forming around Wallflower, a faint black glow forming around Cozy while a light brown glow formed around Gilda. A faint yellow formed around Fluttershy, while a faint blueish glow formed around Rarity, a faint orange formed around Applejack.

We rely on each other to move forward

We stand by each other in the darkest days

We fight together when the world pushes us down

We stand united against all odds

The glowing grew stronger around them but they were all too caught up in the music to notice.

Hatred may brew a darker day

But love will shield us

Harmony will protect us

And Friendship will Unite us

Rainbow’s eyes widened realised that she was glowing brightly, a pony ears formed on her head as blue wings formed behind her while Fluttershy also gained Pony ears and wings. Pinkie, Wallflower, Applejack and Rarity also gained pony like ears. Rarity’s hands glowed with blue light, Gilda had grown massive eagle wings as her hands had turned to eagle talons as feathers covered her face her mouth turning into a beak.

Rainbow was first to recover from the stunning change and turned to ask Sunset a question only to see a female red skinned devil with demonic wings and two long thick horns sticking out from her head standing next to a skeletal creature shrouded in a black cloak floating with a scythe in each hand.

Gilda recovered next and squawked “What happened to us, why do I have a beak and feathers!”

Sunset rubbed her forehead “It seems we transform in response to music, although theoretically we would be able to transform should we choose with some practice. Still we need to revert back...” The magic fades just as quickly as it came fro everyone except Sunset and Wallflower.

Wallflower frowned “It seems we have enough control to revert normally.” The two focused returning to normal.

Rarity frowned “So our music allows to use the harmony magic that we got form Twilight’s crown, is that correct Sunset?”

Sunset nodded “Yes, and I assume using those forms will make it easier for us to do magic.” She then turned to Gilda “Well you turned into a Griffon, Fluttershy and Rainbow turned into Pegasi. Applejack, Pinkie, and Wallflower turned into Earth Ponies, Rarity as judging from the glowing became a unicorn.”

Applejack raised an eyebrow “What about you and Cozy, those forms seem outside of the nor?.”

Sunset sighed “Well mine should pretty obvious, I turned into a demon before and it doesn't surprise me that I turn into something similar. Such darkness doesn't go away, it becomes part of you and you have to accept it. I did those bad things but I will become a better person.”

Cozy frowned “I told you I killed people, becoming an embodiment of death isn’t that far out of my reach. Still I am trying to become a better person but those impulses are always there, I have just learned to reign them in.”

Gilda frowned “So we need to practice these forms do we? That sounds like work that I would rather avoid if I can help it.”

Applejack shook her head “Ah’m willing to try and learn how to control it. It saved us once and it may do so again.”

Sunset frowned “It also would be wise to learn so we don’t do it every time we play music. That would draw a lot of unnecessary attention that could put us all in harm’s way.”

Wallflower grimaced “Well I’m not going to put my friend in danger, I will put the work in. I hope you will all do the same.”

Gilda nodded “I agreed to be part of this, I may not like to put in too much extra effort but I will work with all of you. We are a family after all, that’s what we agreed upon.”

Fluttershy growled “I will not let my friends be put in danger, I’m ready for this!”

Rainbow smiled “Love the fire in your heart Fluttershy, let’s do this thing. We will become master’s of magic.”

Rarity smiled “Maybe I could find a way to use these talents, being able to lift objects with magic will make things much easier for me. Maybe I’ll be able to make clothes much easier.”

Wallflower warned “Just be careful, it is quite mentally draining. It took me a few weeks before I could use it without burning out. So we shouldn’t overdo it too soon,we should do it on Saturday so everyone gets one day to rest before the week starts. It’s what I did and this time we have someone actually trained with us.”

Sunset nodded “This isn’t too be taken lightly, also be careful. It is easy to fall into the trap of using dark magic, as someone who was trained in dark magic that to do it properly you need to keep your mind focused. Even a trained dark mage can fall to if they are not prepared for it as you saw with the crown. You need a strong will to control dark magic effectively.”

Pinkie bounced over with a smile “Enough of the doom and gloom, sleepover at my place tonight.” Everyone else smiled, Pinkie really knew how to alleviate the tension in the room.
