Sunset was in the back of a car with Gilda and Wallflower while Cozy was sitting next to Tirek. They were heading out to their first magic practice, Tirek frowned “Are you sure this is a good idea? This magic has already caused one disaster already?”

Sunset frowned “All the more reason to learn how to control it, we don’t want untrained magic users running around do we?”

Cozy nodded “We need to learn how to control this power of ours or else we may hurt someone. Especially me and Sunset, our powers need to be reined in.”

They had arrived at forest that Sunset used to live in, Tirek frowned “I’m going back to get the others. I expect you four of you to be outside the place Sunset used to stay in.”

Sunset nodded “We will.”

Gilda looked around with a frown “You sued to live out here? It is no wonder you treated everyone like dirt, you needs the influence in order to get things.”

Sunset let out a mirthless chuckle “I had some gems that would have been enough to get me by for the next three years but I wanted more so I blackmailed people. Most of all the reason I did it was because it made me feel good about myself just like all bullies do. I was on the path to becoming a demon in a humans skin.”

Wallflower grimaced “Don’t beat yourself of what you have done and focus on what you can do. It is so easy to tell yourself that everything about yourself is bad, I became a recluse who erased everyone’s memory so I didn’t feel embarrassed. It was a really foolish thing to do.”

Cozy shook her head “Enough about depressing topics, we are here to learn about to how to use our magic.”

Sunset nodded as she guided them to her former home, she sat down as she closed her eyes and within second her devil form resurfaced. She stood up and looked at all of them “You need to centre your mind in order to draw out the state. In time you will be able to draw it out at will but for now you must meditate touching on your magic.”

Wallflower nodded as she drew out her transformed state while she stood there “I have plenty of experience Sunset, maybe not as much as you but I’m no stranger to magic.”

Gilda and Cozy were struggling, Gilda was struggling to maintain the calm state. Cozy Glow on the other hand was sobbing, Sunset walked over and gave Cozy a hug “What is wrong?”

Cozy looked at Sunset “I don’t want to go there, I don’t want to be that person anymore. I don’t want to be a killer again!”

Sunset gave her a slight kiss on the cheek as she smiled “Cozy, your not a killer. You are beautiful girl with a kind heart, very few people would have pulled me out of that crater that day.”

Cozy smiled weakly “Thanks Sunset.”

Wallflower blinked “Um I don’t mean to be rude but did something happen between you two? I mean you two are being very intimate right now and how did that happen.”

Cozy’s eyes widened as she realised what happened “Um…, Sunset I know we had fun that night but was there supposed to be something more to it then that?”

Sunset’s blush only grew “Your quite pretty, I always admired those with scars. I always liked those with fierce personalties, it made them appear strong to me.” Sunset then pressed her lips against Cozy’s with a smile, Gilda was grinning as Wallflower blushed.

The moment was ruined as Rainbow Dash grinned “So you two had some fun when we weren’t looking didn’t you?!”

Applejack, Pinkie, Rarity and Fluttershy all backed away as Sunset and Cozy glared at Rainbow Dash. Sunset growled “We were having a moment and you ruined it! Look just go and meditate over there, that’s what you need to do unlock your powers!”

Fluttershy pulled Rainbow away “I understand the basics of meditation, follow and I’ll explain it. Sunset needs some time with Cozy.”

Cozy was concerned as Sunset was looking down sadly “Is there something wrong?”

Sunset slumped “I shouldn’t have shouted at her, I was just angry about it. What if I turn back into that.”

Cozy shook her head with a smile “I know you won’t, you have shown that you don’t want to be that way anymore but you need to tell all of us the truth.”

Sunset nodded with sigh “I need to tell you all the truth.” Sunset stood up and called out “there is something I need to tell all of you!” The whole group clustered around her.

Applejack frowned as she looked at the girl “Is there something wrong, Sunset?”

Sunset frowned “I’m going to tell you about who I am, Sunset wasn’t my first name. This body of mine was constructed by Princess Celestia but before that I existed as a part of her.”

All of them except Cozy gasped, Cozy on the other hand frowned “Please continue, I need to know who you were before all of this.”

Sunset grimaced “Back then I was known as Daybreaker, all of the negative emotions that Celestia bottled up became me. I had access to all of her memories and even after our bodies separated we were linked, in a way I was her if she was a total raging asshole.”

Rainbow blinked “Wait are you a clone of her then?”

Sunset gave them a weak smile “I must thank all of you in away being blasted by the Elements was the best thing that ever happened to me. It separated me from her mind, I could at last be my own person.”

Pinkie grinned “I’m glad your happier now, things will get better for you now. I promise you that.”

Rarity frowned “This does explain a lot about your past, Twilight didn’t act like she knew you personally. If you were both students at the same time she would know you but she didn’t.”

Sunset shook her head “Let’s not get bogged down in that, we have magic practice to get to.” The group spent the next couple of hours practising magic and all them could draw on their transformed states through meditation.

I wrote this as her backstory because it fits, why she seems to have no parents. How she knew what Twilight's crown was and how to replace it. It helps clear a lot of the plotholes in the first movie.
