ISSUE #6 CHAPTER 7: Unfinished Business

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Big Man was typing on his computer. The top office room of Sherman's Tower was well lit and it was a good night for his crime network. He planned something huge, another attack on Kingpin's new number two, Tombstone. What he was typing was orders for the criminal who was in charge of executing the whole scheme. From what he was being told, the attack at one of Tombstone's waterfront warehouses were going well and it seemed by the end of the night he'd be owning another piece of land.

But that wasn't the only thing he was anticipating for. We all know what he was really anticipating for, Spider-Man. For Spider-Man and him to finally make amends and have him join the criminal network's conquest in taking down the rival gangs. He knew Spider-Man was just as good as Tombstone and he'd be giving Kingpin a run for his money. With Spider-Man at his side he'd be the most untouchable man in Equestria State maybe even all of America if he wants to be extreme about it.

He sipped on some fine wine from a glass. It tasted sweet, as it was rather sweeter than most wine. But it's what he wanted to taste. It was a metaphor of the sweet taste of victory. Then suddenly he stopped. He looked at his wine glass and could see the reflection of the window behind him. His eyes narrowed.

*CRASH!*

Spider-Man came in through the huge window which overlooked the city. A rather dramatic but kind of epic entrance for the web-slinger. He did a triple somersault over Big Man and landed right in front of his desk. Where most of his men would stand.

Big Man was unaffected by any shards of glass, instead he found himself to be nonchalant about it. "You do know we have a front door, don't you?"

Spider-Man's eyes narrowed, "Gigs up Big Man. You're coming with me whether you like it or not."

Big Man arched an eyebrow, "So I presume my negotiated offer fell through with you?"

"You'd be out of your mind to think that I would ever consider joining you."

Big Man got up from his seat, "Well I should've known that trying to convince the hopeless wouldn't exactly prosper. Even if I was willing to make an exception out of them."

Spider-Man scowled, "What, is that supposed to be a threat?" He stood up straight, keeping his gaze on Big Man, "You honestly think I'm afraid of a guy in a suit?"

"Think is an understatement."

Spider-Man grit his teeth under his mask. Big Man was eerily very confident for some reason. But nonetheless, he had the chance to take him down and he was gonna take it this time. "BRING IT!" Spider-Man bellowed.

Big Man sighed, "When this is all said and done, I'll be to personally finance your funeral and show your family how pathetic you are."

That one comment personally ticked off Spider-Man. It prompted him to go at him first. He let out a cry of anger and lunged towards him. He leapt over Big Man's desk and stuck his leg out quickly. However, that would end up being Spider-Man's gravest mistake.

Big Man caught the attempted kick. In other words, his leg. Spider-Man's eyes widened. Big Man merely chuckled, "You really shouldn't judge a book by it's cover Spider-Man, its proven to be a common disadvantage." Big Man quickly jabbed at Spider-Man's jaw, knocking him back.

Spider-Man rebounded himself and staggered to his feet. He narrowed his eyes on Big Man, realizing why he was so confident. "Look's like this guy has more than meets the eye! I better keep my guard up." Spider-Man clenched both of fists and got into an offensive stance.

Big Man face crept a mocking smile, "Cute." He effortlessly leapt over his desk and landed right behind Spider-Man. Spider-Man wanted this however, he was gonna use his Spider-Sense to it's extent.

Big Man quickly attempted a punch right behind Spider-Man's back. But fortunately , Spider-Man ducked and turned around before the punch could land on him. Unfortunately though, Spider-Man too attempted a swift jab. Big Man caught the punch and quickly retaliated with a fist he drove right into Spider-Man's stomach. Furthermore, he elbowed Spider-Man's back and held him up by his head, throwing him down on his back. He then placed his foot on Spider-Man's chest, firmly keeping him in place.

Spider-Man let out a groan in pain, Big Man merely scoffed at him. "What a pathetic display of job action. But that's not to say I haven't seen worst."

Spider-Man was looking around and searching the room. His eyes fixated on a pool table. "Okay Number Eight, don't fail me now!" He fired a webline at a pool ball. He had an anticipation, the eight ball hits the side of Big Man's head and he get's free. He snagged and tugged the webline super hard, sending the eight ball towards the side of Big Man's head.

However, when his said plan was put into motion. Big Man caught the pool ball with out even breaking a sweat and crushed it in his hand. Spider-Man's eyes widened, "Oh, how I've become error."

Big Man smirked, "Well I might as well end this ugly confrontation of ours." He raised his foot off of Spider-Man's chest. Both he and Spider-Man knew what he would do next. "See you in hell wall crawler."

Spider-Man knew that if he'd gotten up and tried to attack, he'd be pin down to the ground again."I need a distraction and quick. Then Spider-Man had an idea, "WAIT! The Ceiling window!" He looked Big Man in the eyes, pretending to accept his fate. Then he quickly raised his arm up and fired another webline towards the Ceiling window he had used earlier, catching Big Man's attention. He tugged on the webline, breaking the metal frame of the window off.

Big Man was confused, "Wait what was even the point of--" However, midway through his sentence, Spider-Man shot some webbing in his face, completely fooling him. He then rolled out of the way and got back onto his feet.

Spider-Man knew that he had a few seconds before Big Man would rip the webbing straight off so he used it. He lunged towards Big Man. "Let's see how you can dodge this!" He droved a punch to Big Man's stomach, finally landing some contact on him. He continued by kneeing him and then doing a high kick to his jaw.

It sent Big Man up in the air and then falling all the way to his desk. Upon landing on it, the front leg of the desk completely broke due to Big Man's impact force, Causing the desk to break down and be slanted. Big Man finally ripped the webbing off his face and got off the desk.

"Seems I've underestimated you Arachnid. No wonder my men have trouble exterminating you. You're a whole different species of pest."

Spider-Man chuckled, "Well I'm no House Spider."

"Enough of this nonsense." Big Man scowled, "I'm going to end this!"

He charged for Spider-Man, running at speeds comparable to Spider-Man himself. Spider-Man's eyes narrowed. He leapt over Big Man and stared down at him mid-air. He clung onto the ceiling and continued to stare down Big Man.

He then decided to launch himself off the ceiling and straight for Big Man. He outstretched both his arms and began firing web bullets at Big Man from his wrists. As Spider-Man was getting a little closer, he knew that web bullets wouldn't be exactly his focal point offensively. He knew that he would be diving straight into Big Man's grasp.

He quickly fired a webline and snagged it. Swinging in the air. He stretched out both his legs and charged at Big Man. Big Man's eyes widened as he saw Spider-Man only a few seconds away.

Spider-Man ended up kicking Big Man square in the face with both feet! Sending him into the wall. Big Man created a small crater in the wall due to his impact and lost his composure for a moment. Spider-Man's eyes narrowed on Big Man. He dashed for him, raising his fist up.

"I-If you think it's ending that easily you're sadly mistaken!" Big Man regained his composure way before Spider-Man even landed the punch on him. It was too late for Spider-Man to turn course now, he had already lunged towards Big Man and was about land the punch.

So Big Man found his advantage point. He got out of his impact crater and lunged for Spider-Man. He quickly kneed Spider-Man in the stomach mid air, stopping him in his tracks. Spider-Man nearly stumbled back but kept his balance, his he was bent over with his arms wrapped around his stomach and his head down.

Then his Spider-Sense went off. He cocked his head up and was nearly met with Big Man's dress shoes. Spider-Man ducked quickly and dodged it.

Spider-Man pivoted to the side, letting go of his stomach and mustering enough strength to stand up straight and keep going.

Big Man grimaced at Spider-Man. "Pest."

He charged at Spider-Man. He attempted a few quick jabs at him but Spider-Man had now been a little comfortable with dodging Big Man's attack. It wasn't a breeze for him but it certainly was a little work out.

"Man, now that I think about it. He kinda reminds me of Goblin. Like an even more juiced up one."

Spider-Man leapt over Big Man dodging a knee and landed right behind him. "Did he associate with Goblin? Or is he like some sort of Chuck Norris?"

"You know Spider-Man. The more you keep running, the longer this insignificant fight will be." He charged at Spider-Man again.

Spider-Man chuckled, "It could be shorter if you just well, oh I don't know turn yourself in and enter the prison system--" He dodged another one of Big Man's punches and stepped back. "To become a better person in society."

Big Man found himself chuckling and stood his ground. Spider-Man's eyes both narrowed as he got into an offensive stance.

"I'm going to offer you this one last time Spider-Man. Join me now. Everything is still on the table except, I'll be willing to give you all that information I know you've been looking for."

Spider-Man stood up straight, "Sorry. But I do things humanely."

Big Man closed his eyes and smirked, "I should've known."

The two both intensely stared at one and other for a moment. It was silent in the office, despite the sounds of cars and people below along with the sound of a clock in the office. Neither Spider-Man or Big Man spoke.

But then, Big Man began to charge at Spider-Man again. Spider-Man clenched his fists and began to charge at Big Man as well. Both Spider-Man swung for each other which in-turn led to both their fists ramming into each other.

Spider-Man winced, let out a scream and moved back, rubbing his knuckle. "OW! Oh man, they make that look so easy in Dragon Ball--" He was cut off again by his Spider-Sense. Big Man was charging at him again. So he decided to take a different approach.

He leapt up and fired a webline on the ceiling, narrowly dodging Big Man. He had to make the most of the confided space he was in. He swung around the room, and began shooting web bullets at Big Man. They weren't so much as hurting Big Man but rather irritating him.

Then, Spider-Man let go of his webline and nailed two web bullets right in Big Man's eyes. Causing Big Man to bellow at Spider-Man, "GAH! DAMN YOU!"

Spider-Man landed on the ground and quickly rushed for Big Man. He drove his fist into Big Man's stomach. It caused a wheeze to come out of Big Man. Spider-Man then executed a flying high kick under Big Man's Chin, sending him flying.

Spider-Man smirked under his mask. "That's it! His big weakness is the lack of eyesight."

Big Man ripped the webbing out of his eyes and was absolutely livid. Spider-Man could hear Big Man huffing. "Y-You.....are......such.....a......PEST! YOUR LUCK ISN'T GONNA LAST FOREVER!"

He ran at Spider-Man, even faster before. Before Spider-Man could react, he was met with multiple swift punches to the face. It was unreal, it was like Big Man's skills had just multiplied and became even greater. Spider-Man was kicked in the chest by Big Man and sent back.

Spider-Man rebounded himself mid air and reached for the floor. His finger tips stopped him from flying back and he slid on the ground for a moment until his fingers grip stopped him.

He winced, feeling a sharp pain in both cheeks. In a jerky motion, he cocked his head up to face Big Man but instead, his Spider-Sense went off and he faced the bottom of Big Man's shoe. He was sent flying back again and crashed into the Elevator of Big Man's elevator. Spider-Man practically funneled through the Elevator doors and slammed into the wall of the Elevator.

Big Man followed. Running towards the Elevator, he crawled through the hole Spider-Man made and stood in front of Spider-Man's laying body. Spider-Man let out a groan and slowly looked up at Big Man who was chuckling and cracking his fist.

He gave Spider-Man a twisted grin. He was done with trying to recruit Spider-Man, instead he now has murder on his mind! "I am going to enjoy turning you into a rug Spider-Man."

Spider-Man's lenses widened. Being a sensible human being, he rolled out of Big Man's way and quickly clung onto, "Sorry Pal. But uh-- well you see I kinda want to see this thing called My Future!. And besides, I'm not sure being a house rug is a sensible way of earning income--"

"SHUT UP!" He Big Man swung at Spider-Man as hard as he could, only for Spider-Man to cling onto the ceiling.

Spider-Man's lenses squinted, "Look's like he's more closer to his original pace. But still there's no telling what he could pull out of his sleeve. I can't believe I'm saying this but--"

Before Spider-Man could finish. He again switched positions from the ceiling onto the opposite side of where the Elevator doors once stood. Otherwise known as the wall he slammed into earlier. Without hesitation, he outstretched both arms and shot two Weblines at Big Man's feet. Snagging the two, he tugged on them as hard as possible, sending Big Man to fall on the ground.

"Okay where was I again?...…Come on, Come on, Come on.....OH YEAH! I can't risk ticking him off to the point where he's the Rhino. If I do that I might be sleeping in a coffin tonight."

Big Man groaned from the pain in the back of his head. Spider-Man's lenses widened as he had an open opportunity right in front of him. "Well Sentry, better make this one count!"

He launched himself off the wall and dove for Big Man. Extending his foot out, Spider-Man attempted to kick Big Man in his face.

Big Man had a wry grin slowly form on his face. Catching Spider-Man by surprise, he grabbed Spider-Man's ankle mid air. Keeping him in place. Adding the slightest pressure to his hand, it was enough to make Spider-Man scream as the pressure of Big Man's hand felt like squeezing on Spider-Man's ankle.

Then, what looked to be effortlessly. Big Man tossed Spider-Man up. But the toss was of much greater impact and caused Spider-Man to crash into the ceiling and completely emerge from the elevator box.

Enter the elevator shaft. It was rather wide despite the fact Big Man had the one elevator in his so on so 'luxury office suite.' But that was because the building had another two elevator boxes. The main ones used by the people during office hours in Sherman's tower. However, the one in Big Man's office was only accessible to him and otherwise completely hidden from all floors.

Spider-Man ended up crashing into right half of the Elevator Box. So out of habit he landed on the other half. Sitting down. The first set of action you may be asking? Well, it was to immediately clutch his ankle and grit his teeth in pain.

"AUGH! DAMN! MY ANKLE'S KILLING ME! Oh my god, what the hell did he do to it." Spider-Man tried standing up straight but almost immediately went back down to grab his ankle. Wrapping his hands around both sides. "Ow, Ow, Ow, Ow Dammit, OW DAMMIT!"

Then, Big Man leapt out of the Elevator and again stood right in front of Spider-Man. "Well would you look at that. The big and tough Spider-Man is now weak and hurting on the floor. Such a predicament."

Spider-Man arched an eyebrow for a moment, mustering up some strength to speak, "Okay. Either you're really old or you've run out of sinister lines and are now having to use cliché ones to kill me." He tried getting up, still the sharp pain in his ankle wouldn't go away but he pushed through and stood slouching a little, "Because, and I'm being honest here. It might be working."

Big Man's maintained his twisted smirk. In a display of pride he gestured at Spider-Man to come at him. Looking at how understandably how weak Spidey looked.

But if there was one thing Flash learned, it was that 'It ain't over till it's over!' So, even if he felt like he was about to collapse on his own weight. He wasn't about to give up and lose without dignity. So with all his might, he swung at Big Man.

But, despite all of Flash's effort (and cliché motivational writing). He missed Big Man completely. Big Man found it almost amusing and laughed, "You're gonna have to better than that Spider-Man." He swiftly elbowed Spider-Man's back, sending him towards the wall of the Elevator Shaft.

Spider-Man however was too proud of himself to let himself lose. He rebounded himself mid air and quickly gripped onto the wall with his fingers. He turned back at Big Man and launched himself off the wall towards him.

But that would end up being his biggest mistake.

While yes he was in Big Man's path. His honest intention. Big Man got the last laugh by grappling Spider-Man and putting him in a headlock. His arm wrapped around Spider-Man's neck. Spider-Man was heard making stridor's and seen twitching his lenses. He tried to separate the arm but it was no use. He was too weak. This got Big Man lauhing. Laughing Maniacally in fact. Almost mirroring a laugh from a certain Goblin.

"My....My....My. This is how it ends for you? The great Spider-Man goes out like this. Well, I'll give you credit where it's due but, maybe at your funeral." Big Man then grabbed the top of Spider-Man's mask. "It's a shame really, we would've made a great and unstoppable team."

"I don't like where this is heading."

"But I guess before I commit your murder, I might as well see who the culprit behind the mask has been all along. Time to see who is Spider-Man."

Big Man began to lift the mask from the top, much to Flash's panic. Even if he was to beaten to show it. Everything was flashing before his eyes. It just wasn't as simple as him dying with his identity being revealed to the public. If the mask comes off then everyone he'll love will be targeted by the worst of the worst. Everyone from his Mother to Sunset or even his best friends Micro Chips and Sandalwood.

Big Man had been anticipating for this moment since he'd receive the news of Spider-Man taking Electro down. "Yes, YES! IT'S TIME TO FINALLY SEE THE MAN BEHIND THE MASK!" Big Man ended up revealing Spider-Man's actual mouth.

But that would be as far as he got.

*CHOMP!*

Big Man's eyes widened, he removed his arm off of Spider-Man and let out a scream. He rolled his sleeve up to see a bite mark from Spider-Man.

Spider-Man however wasted no time. He quickly rushed Big Man with everything he got. Letting out a cry, it caught Big Man's attention but by the time he looked up it was already too late. Spider-Man elbowed Big Man square in the face as hard as he could!

This sent Big Man back and into the abyss of the Elevator Shaft. This was when Spider-Man finally took a breath and re-adjusted his mask. He panted for a moment but then immediately stopped. Realizing that he just sent Big Man down an elevator shaft.

He got up quickly, but as he did so, he heard a crashing sound down below. For a moment there, Spider-Man was almost confused of what he could've crashed into as he though it was just a pit down below. Then, he realized that there were two other Elevator Cars in the shaft.

His lenses widened. Looking down, he realized that both the public elevators were deadest at the bottom and had no doubt Big Man crashed right through one of them. His teeth grit, even though he hated Big Man's gut, he had to bear the responsibility of a hero and actually make sure he was okay.

He looked to the far wall of the shaft and quickly jumped for it.
