“But its impossible to update them?” Ruby says as she stares at Luna walking over to Nova bedside.

“Was impossible but due to Princess Twilight Sparkle and her work on making new astral maps with some help from me, we can now start mapping our stars.” Luna gently nudges Nova awake who was not pleased to be awaken up at the unpleasant hour of the night till she realized that Princess Luna was there

“Princess Luna!” Nova yelped and blushed slightly at the Princess “What are you doing here?”

Luna chuckled at the blushing bright orange mare. “Well like I told Ruby before doing my royal duties and helping with updating the star maps”

“But that isn’t supposed to happen till Thursday night?” Nova quickly gets out of her bed and walks over to a wall that had a calendar hanging on it and she looked and saw that tonight was the night that they were indeed creating the astral maps.

“I am so sorry Luna, I would of have things prepared before you came to the Observatory” Nova admits and hangs her head down in shame

Luna smiles and walks over to Nova and lifts her head up “Don’t be sorry, you can make it up to me later, but for now we need to start”

Luna floats over the empty astral maps to a table where Nova had cleared with her magic.

A twinge of jealousy was felt in Ruby heart as she saw her secret lover and her friend and coworker worked together in harmony “This is just work-related stuff Ruby nothing is going on between them. At least I hope.” Ruby makes her way over to her work bench and fiddles with some screws and bolts making a quick replica of the telescope that she works absent minded before she was incased in a warm familiar blue magic and floated over to Luna

“You can help to instead of being the cast out of us Ruby” Luna says gently which brings a flutter to ruby heart and also a tiny bit of pain. Ruby knew she was an outcast even within the kingdom she was different because she liked working hard unlike other mares that wanted to just want to float by in life,

“Hey Ruby, what would you think would improve the bearing on the telescope?” Nova asked actually looking at ruby as a friend instead of her boss. Ruby was grateful for this because it gave her a mind a distraction from the love triangle thoughts she was having.

“Well, the Number Eight Mk 1, bearings I know that they used heavily in other countries heavily artillery but if I can get my hooves on just a couple the telescope could have a smoother transition from focusing lens and the elevation for it would drastically increase.” Ruby says smiling actually enjoying herself while talking about the telescope and was unaware that Luna had wrapped her flowing astral tail around ruby crimson one.

As Ruby rambled on about telescope pieces both Luna and Nova smiled at each other silently each feeling pleased that they cheered up their friend and lover. However, the process of updating the astral maps was tedious and scrutinizing. Each astral map had to have a tiny bit of Luna magic to be integrated into the map itself and under neath moonlight for up to three weeks. Soon the sky was slowing turning from the violet night sky to the warming pink sky from the sun. Nova quickly puts the finished maps into a closet to make sure that they avoid damage from the sun and locks them up with a spell.

“I am impressed with you two we have completed about one fourth of the astral map making process, Luna yawns and slowly stands up unraveling her tails from Rubys which made Ruby cheeks flushed with embarrassment as she didn’t remember Luna ever doing so.

“I will be in my chambers for the rest of the day getting some sleep, and you two should do the same”

Nova and Ruby nodded and were both succumbs to a wave of tiredness even though the were used to staying up late this morning was different perhaps that they were actually doing something instead of just staring through a telescope or perhaps something else but either way both mares retired to their beds and laid there until Luna left and locked the observatory

Ruby who was somewhat awake her mind started to wonder about Nova and Luna her heart ache to know the truth between the two of them.

“Hey Nova? You awake?”

“Hmm?” Nova replied trying to go to sleep

“Do you and Luna have a relationship?”

Nova rolled over and stared at Ruby wondering on why she asked that type of question “I mean if you count like she my supervisor relationship then yes but for a lover relationship I don’t know. Unlike you I can see how much happier you are around her”

“H-How did you know?” Ruby asked cautiously at Nova and wonder what else she knew about Luna and her

“The way you two acted around each other tonight and you seemed a whole better when she floated you over to her. She was smiling the entire time you were talking about telescope parts. Oh, and that bag that you quote on quote brought here is gone and the only other pony in here was Luna. But I will not lie to you I do have feeling for Luna” Nova admits to Ruby whose heart ached a tiny bit because she felt betrayed by Luna and Nova. “But I do have feeling for you too and more than a college… Ruby I do love you but I do know you and Luna love each other more. I`m the third wheel here. Why did you think I asked you about the telescope parts to ease your mind, I knew you felt uncomfortable with us working together…”?
Ruby minded was shocked as it was flooded with question tuning out Nova who smiles at Ruby and closes her eyes.

“WHAT! NOVA LOVES ME!?” Ruby thoughts kept her awake a tiny bit longer but she eventually succumbs to her ever-warm bed and cool pillow.
