Chapter 1
Meet Jubilee
I wondered what was going to happen when I moved away from Canterlot. I watched as my Princess Celestia told me and my sisters to move away from Canterlot and go across Equestria. I was assigned to Ponyville, since it was my turn to plan for the festival.
“Jubilee! Please come here and help me pack my bags!” Bonnie, my older sister called from across the room. I sighed and trotted over to Bonnie, packing her endless things into her many bags. Her bags were going to take up an entire train car! My little sister, Coral, helped me packed Bonnie’s things. Coral hadn’t gotten her cutie mark yet; she was still a filly. Bonnie’s cutie mark was a hairbrush, showing her vanity and selfishness. My cutie mark, my calling, was acting. My cutie mark was the two masks that were upon most movie theaters.
While I was deep in thought, Bonnie started yelling at my twin sister, Dove Flight, Dove for short. Dove’s off-white coat was bristling at Bonnie as she retorted. I returned to the world and saw Bonnie’s dark blue coat and Dove’s off white fine mane and coat. I pulled Dove from the argument and let her talk to me while I was packing my things. “Jubilee, I am seriously going to miss you. I’m going to be all the way in Fillydelphia, and you will be in Ponyville. Oh, and good luck with the Halloween Carnival. I heard that Princess Luna will be coming with you. You and your dark blue wings are lucky!” Dove said, her own feathered white wings spreading out.
I smiled. Maybe having Princess Luna, my secret best friend, coming with me wouldn’t be so bad. I hoped. It was a bit scary, being away from home.
Dove helped me for a while. And then went over to her bags to prepare for Fillydelphia. The only one of my siblings that weren’t going was Coral, so she could finish flight school, and Donnie, Bonnie’s twin brother. He had to finish guard school with Shining Armor.
Donnie barged into our rooms and tried to hug Bonnie, who protested because she didn’t want her hair to be messy. He smiled at me and hugged me, even though I wasn’t going even farther than Dove. Donnie, Dove and I had a conversation before we left.
“Jubilee, Dove, promise me you will be good!” He said to both of us. “Dove, I know your peaceful gift will do well in Fillydelphia. Jubilee, your acting will be much appreciated in Ponyville, I know it!” He said to us. “Thanks.” Dove and I said simultaneously. Donnie was the only pony in our family that was a Unicorn. Bonnie, Dove, Coral and I were Pegasi. Our mother was a Unicorn, and our father was a Pegasus. Most of the rest of our family were Pegasi and Earth Ponies.
Our mother was expecting another pony, and sadly, Bonnie, Dove and I wouldn’t be here when she was due to have our little sister or brother. Donnie said that he would send letter to the three of us as soon as he or she was born.
I finally finished all of my packing, and was ordered to help Bonnie again, who wasn’t even half packed. It was getting confusing. So many hair products and brushes, and she had to keep correcting me. I was getting tired of it.
I finally gave up and listened to Bonnie’s whining. Oh, why couldn’t Luna be my sister? She loves watching the stars, like I do. She loves taking naps during the day, like I do. There was so many things that we had in common.
My mind wandering was interrupted by Bonnie knocking me down and hitting me in the face. She did it hard, too. Donnie growled at Bonnie and picked her off of me, throwing her into her bags. “You are being horrible, Bonnie. Jubilee, Dove, Coral and I are getting tired of your whining. Its time you step away from the mirror and get into the real world. I don’t think you are ready to leave Canterlot. Don’t even mind packing. I’m talking to Celestia now.” He said. Stomping out of the room, he slammed the doors behind him, sending in some guards to make sure that Bonnie didn’t attack us again. I stood, feeling wobbly and unsure. Dove quickly helped me to my bed, making sure that I was okay. “You, get a nurse or something. Jubilee is bleeding.” She ordered, one of the guards quickly calling a nurse in. The white mare quickly came in and tended to me, using her magic to heal me.
Celestia and Luna ran into the room. Luna quickly came to me, making sure I was okay and helping me up. Celestia approached Bonnie. “You are not leaving Canterlot for a long time, Bonnie. Shining Armor and Donnie told me everything. Trying to hurt your little sister? I try to keep the peace in all of Equestria, but how can I do that when I have to waste my time correcting a young mare’s actions in my own city? Donnie was right. You need to grow up and get a job instead of living off of Jubilee and Donnie. Tomorrow, instead of getting on the train, you will be my personal assistant. Jubilee, do you think this is a good punishment for her?” She asked, turning to me.
I looked up at her and nodded. “Plenty. She does need to grow up.”I said to her. Luna nodded, checking my wound once more. Luna leaned and whispered into my ear. “Want me to make Celestia send her to clean the dungeon?” She asked. I shook my head, giggling at the idea of Bonnie trying to clean up the dungeon.
Bonnie didn’t protest and started unpacking her things again as Luna, Celestia, the guards and the nurse left. Bonnie went into her bathroom, restocking all of her things.
Chapter 2
The Train ride
I had fallen asleep that night with a joyful smile, imagining what Ponyville looked like. I put a brush over my thick messy mane, making Luna help me braid it and get my suitcase. Dove and I went into the train, leaving our three siblings and our mother and father behind. We waved and smiled at all of them, but Bonnie didn’t wave at me. She was giving me an evil stare. At the last second, Luna put her things into the train and joined us. Celestia took Bonnie and started to tell her to get her tea, punishing her by pushing her around, like Bonnie did to her own siblings. “Celestia can be very harsh to certain ponies. I told her to do her worst to Bonnie, and she agreed. She will be her maid for the whole month we are away.” Luna said to Dove and I. The grin wiped off of my face as I wondered what she would do to me when she was off duty. “And she won’t share a room with you and your sisters anymore. She will be in a room across the castle.” Luna said, reading my thoughts. I nodded and hoped that she would be right.
Soon, we arrived in Ponyville. I stepped off of the train with Luna, and waved goodbye to Dove as she and a few other ponies we had met on the train took off to the next stop, Fillydelphia.
A regal pony came up to me and introduced herself as Rarity. “I would be very much grateful if you and Princess Luna would wear my costumes for the Nightmare Night Festival.” She said, bowing her head down. “Well of course we will, Rarity. Right, Jubilee?” She asked. “Of course! I forgot to bring my costume anyway. You’re a lifesaver, miss Rarity!” I said, smiling as I stretched out my feathery blue wings. Rarity smiled and quickly galloped away, talking to her friends.
I looked at my list, and changed my gaze to Luna. “Celestia told me to find Twilight Sparkle, and she would help me get the festival ready. Do you know her?” I asked.
Luna nodded, and pointed at a purple Unicorn with a multi-colored mane. I nodded and trotted over to her. “Hello, I’m Jubilee.” I said, holding my hoof out for her to shake it. Twilight’s eyes got big as Luna came behind me. “Hi, I’m Twilight. Are you the one that Princess Celestia said would be coming with Princess Luna?” She asked me. I nodded, showing her my list. “I’m preparing the Halloween Festival.” I said. “Can I have your help?” Twilight nodded and took my list into her magical grasp.
“Alright, let’s see… Rainbow Dash has to clear the skies. I’ll lead you to her.” She said, grabbing my hoof and pushing me forward to a light blue mare with a rainbow colored mane. “Twilight, who is this?” She asked, flying up and crossing her hooves. I flew up in front of her. “I’m Jubilee. I came with Princess Luna to direct the Halloween festival.” I introduced myself. “Princess Celestia told me that I needed to ask you to clear the skies, storing all of the storm clouds for the crops in Sweet Apple Acres, when they need it. You also need to keep in contact with Big Mac, who is in charge of the farm with Granny Smith, Applejack and Applebloom.” She said, looking up at Rainbow.
Rainbow nodded. “Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. I’ll make sure it gets done.” She said, starting to fly away.
I flew back down to Twilight and checked that off of my list.
“Next is to make sure Scootaloo, Sweetie Bell, and Applebloom have their tree house ready for a show by Trixie, who will be arriving shortly after Luna and me.” She said, flying up and looking for the next train. I saw it, a few hours away. I flew back down, and nodded to Twilight. “Do you know where the three might be?” I asked.
Twilight nodded, and directed me to a little orange Pegasus, a white Unicorn, and a yellow Earth Pony. I padded to them. “Are you three the owners of the treehouse?” I asked.
The Earth Pony nodded. “Yes ma’am! We built it ourselves, the Cutiemark Crusaders!” She said, clopping hooves with the other two foals. I chuckled as I learned their little joke. “Alright. Can you make sure that you have a video screen in the room by Nightmare Night Eve?” I asked. They all nodded, and I checked that off my list. “Okay, cool. My name is Jubilee, and just come to me or miss Twilight if you need any help with building it.” I said, flying back to Twilight.
Luna had disappeared somewhere into the crowd. In fact, the mare was nowhere to be seen.
I shrugged as Rarity came up to me. “Jubilee darling, lets go get a drink with Twilight. You look simply famished.” Rarity said, using her magic to put my list in my bag and pushing me to a store called Sugarcube Corner.
We all sat down and looked at the menu. A tall colt by the name of Falcon went to our table, catching my eye. “Hello ladies. How may I help you?” He asked, using his magic to take our order. “Can I please have a tea?” Rarity asked. He nodded and wrote it down. Twilight nodded to me and looked at him. “I’ll have a cupcake and some water, please.” She said. I looked up at him, and smiled. “May I please have some tea and a blueberry muffin?” I asked. “Certainly.” He said, smiling and writing our orders down. “Alright, I’ll come back in a few minutes.” He said, nodding.
A pink pony came up to me with a cannon. “Hi, I’m Pinkie Pie.” She said. “Hi. Is your Party Cannon ready?” I asked. All of a sudden, I was shot down by cake and confetti, and on the ground. I moaned as all of the noises filled my head. Pinkie Pie, Rarity, and Twilight shrieking, Falcon gasping, and several ponies calling for ‘Doctor Hooves’. I felt Twilight and Rarity’s magic pick me up as I blacked out.
