Two Souls, One Ling

It took a whole hour to get to Ponyville, after crashing into a river, because Trixie was being reckless again, getting stuck in vines, and falling in mud. They came back to Ponyville wet, muddy, and cut up. The ponies really just watched the trio walk to Twilight’s Castle, a mess.

“ ..In my defense, I wasn’t really looking.. “ Trixie said. All she got in response, was Starlight groaning, and Thorax’s deadly growl. After all of that, his whole body was itching like crazy. All he knew, mud and water, mixed with Changeling skin, ended up with dark green blotches on his body. The cuts didn’t help either, as they already started getting infected, and it hurt a lot. His wings were soggy, and weren’t of any use until they dried up. It was really bad for him. Trixie thinks she had it bad, and so does Starlight, but he couldn’t use his wings, his entire body itched, stung, and ached. His eyes ached like crazy, and on top of that, his head throbbed like Tartarus.

“ Thorax, stop it! You’re getting more mud on me! “ Trixie whined. Thorax’s useable eye twitched. He scooped a glob of mud off of him, grabbed Trixie, and shoved it in her mouth out of rage.

“ Uh-THORAX! THORAX, THORAX, CHILL!! “ Starlight said, trying to stop him. Before things could get worse, he stopped, slapping the glob on Trixie’s face instead, and trotted off, inraged. Starlight checked Trixie’s mouth, just in-case. Trixie’s ended up just spitting the small drops out.

“ What is WRONG with him?! “

“ He’s mad. Like I am right now. You were the one who got us into this mess. “ She said, walking off. Trixie rolled her eyes, and followed behind. Thorax just stood there, waiting. Once the two unicorns made it next to him, he burned a hole through the door, a size that they could all fit through, and he stepped in.

“ I’ll fix it. “ He said, blankly. Starlight and Trixie exchanged glances, and stepped in. The hole on the door formed back to together, after some vine just mushed itself into it.

“ See? “ He said, smirking, before walking around again. Thorax started walking down the halls, trying to find a bathroom to wash off. Starlight and Trixie followed, wanting to get washed off too. It took them a while to find it, before they finally found the bathroom. Trixie went first, the. Starlight, then Thorax. Starlight insisted that he went second, since he had the most mud, and damage, but he insisted he’d go last.

After they all washed up, Twilight and Spike noticed they were here, and gave them towels. They all winced at all of the dark green blotches on Thorax’s body. He blushed in embarrassment, and covered himself up with a really big towel, but the blotches on his face still showed.

“ You look..so gross, Thorax.. “ Trixie insulted. Thorax only glared at her, and hissed softly. Spike was sipping a cup of coffee, and kind of got uncomfortable because Thorax keep staring at him.

“ ...Sooooo, Uhh... What happened to you guys? “ Spike asked.

“ River. Vines. Mud. “ Thorax said, quickly. Spike blinked, somehow understanding that, and sipped his coffee a bit more.

“ So...who— “ Twilight didn’t even get to three words before Thorax pointed at Trixie, somehow knowing what she was gonna say. Trixie rolled her eyes, and crossed her legs. Twilight nodded, while Spike sipped his coffee more, with Thorax utterly staring at him.

“ Thorax? You ok? “ Spike asked. Thorax shook his head, and twitched.

“ Y-Yeah! Yeah! Yeah, I-I’m fine! Heheh.. “ He stuttered, his eye twitching. Spike and Twilight looked at eachother, and back at him, and to Trixie and Starlight, and back to him.

“ ...Uhm..I think you three need some rest.. “ Twilight said.

“ Yeah.. “

“ Definitely.. “

“ Y-Yeah..that sounds-NFHAHRVAKY- ” Static just burst from his mouth like a disconnected radio. They all looked to him, shocked. He covered his mouth with his two hooves, and blushed from embarrassment.

“ Thorax, buddy, you ok? “ Spike asked again.

“ Ye-Yeah! I-I-ANFGEISHLSH- ” He bursted. He covered his mouth again, recognizing Chrysalis’ voice, in an angry tone. Though, it was quite staticky, because there were others around. They all just blinked at him.

“ ..You..You think you need to be alo- “

“ ALONE! YES! ALONE! THAT-HRBRHIABFJW-NEED RIGHT NOW!! “ He heeled nervous, blurting out static again, trotting off. The other ponies just watched him hurry away.

“ ..Soo..anyone want coffee? “

He slammed the door, and locked it. He pressed his back up against it, huffing. Why was he so nervous?! Why is he full of anxiety right now?! His legs shook for some reason, and he tried to keep himself up.

“ ..C-Chrysalis...what’s...happening?!.. “ He said, clutched his chest. He huffed, shakily.

“ I-I..I don’t know! I just feel something’s wrong inside of us! “ She said, panicky. Thorax’s chest gems glowing black, and his body started aching. He started to hyperventilate, and his wind pipes would start to block up with black foam building up in his throat. He’d start coughing, and wheezing, holding his neck, panicking.

“ C-Chrys...get...T-Twi.. “ Thorax coughed, shaking violently.

“ H-How?! “ She questioned, panicking as well. Before he could say anything else, he let out a deafening screech, as his legs bent, and cracked. His eyes blackened, and started pouring black liquids out of his sockets. His mouth also dripped with black liquids. Thorax’s wings shot up into the air, crackling and falling to pieces, only to grow back all screwed up. His horn would grow, and get full with holes. His body color would fade, his elytra would be full of holes too. All of the sudden, long and thick spider like legs would tear out of his back, making him let out a louder screech, and Chrysalis watched in fear, before running through the door, going to try and get the other ponies attention.

The invisible queen ran to the kitchen, rummaging through the fridge, and cabinets, and drawers.

” Ok, ok, ok. Don’t panic, Chrysalis!..Just..find something..... “ She looked to the counter, and saw the salt shaker. She grabbed it with her magic and ran out. She skid to a stop, and hid behind a wall. Chrysalis huffed, never feeling this freaked out before. It was like she was gaining Thorax’s characteristics, and he was gaining her characteristics. She sighed, and got ready. She walked across the wall, holding up the salt. The other ponies only saw a salt shaker floating in the air.

“ ..Guys..that salt shaker is.. “ Starlight said, pointing to it. The others got up, and started walking toward it. That’s when she ran, quickly. They all followed her, as she went to the room Thorax was transforming into something crazy. Before she got there, the entire wall of that room just got smashed, and...Thorax appeared? Was it even Thorax anymore?

“ ..T-T-T-Th-Thorax?!?!.. “ Trixie stuttered, terrified. Everyone started backing away from him..or it. They only heard it’s loud, and hard breathing. They would turn to them, with black, voided eyes, that were melting like crazy. The spider legs that were coming out of his back, would lift, and crash back onto the ground, and would start speeding up. The others screamed, and ran off. They ran into the kitchen, and blocked the door. They heard them screech, and bang on the door.

“ Ok. What happened?! “ Twilight turned to Starlight and Trixie, angrily.

“ Us?! W-Why would you think- “

“ Not Trixie. YOU. Starlight, what if you put some kind of spell on him?! “ Twilight accused. Starlight would look really hurt, her heart dropping into her stomach. Starlight scowled.

“ Why are you blaming me?! I would NEVER do that to him! “ Starlight yelled, very hurt. They would hear another screech from outside of the kitchen. The creature outside would bang at the door, and walls around it. They would all back away, and grab weapons.

“ Uh..doesn’t this feel like a horror movie we’ve watched before? “ Spike compared, breaking the silence between them. The 3 looked at Spike, like “ Really? “. Twilight and Starlight would walk up to the door, and move all of the stuff out of the way. Twilight would crack the door, just a tiny bit. But, all of the sudden, the creature broke the wall open, and crawled into the kitchen. They screeched, and roared at the same time. Giant vines would try and grab them, but would be smacked away. More, and more vines would grab them like crazy, and try to drag them toward Thorax. Actually....it wasn’t even Thorax anymore! It was..something else.

“ AHH! STARLIGHT!!!! “ Trixie screamed, being dragged toward the creature. The vine started lifting Trixie up, before Twilight and Starlight ran to help her. Twilight flew up, and grabbed Trixie’s front legs, and pulled. Starlight shot at the vine that was holding Trixie. It let go of Trixie real fast, but wasn’t able to grab her back again.

“ ..hhhh.. “ The creature hissed, and before trying to stomp on them with his long, spider like leg. Twilight, Spike, Starlight, and Trixie curled up into a corner, in fear. The creature got it’s face toward them in the corner, blocking any kind of escape. They all started to cry from fear, as the creature’s warm breath hit them. It let out a loud, and deafening screech, that could have actually deafened them, if they didn’t cover their ears. It scowled at them, before softening it’s expression. They noticed the ponies, and their tears. The creature stepped back, and started to shrink. The spider like legs went back into his back, and his entire body started forming back to normal. He collapsed, before blinking.

“ Ahh...ahahh? Guys? “ He moaned in pain, and confused. They all slowly came out of the corner, still a bit nervous. Thorax stood up, his legs shaking like crazy. He looked behind him, and saw the missing wall, and door. He gasped, and turned back to them.

“ ..Wha..What did I do.. “ He muttered, tearing up. Spike walked over to him, and tried to calm Thorax down. The others slowly came from the corner more, and Twilight spoke..

“ ..W-We..will explain.. “
