Two Souls, One Ling

“ What happened. “

In the mirror, was a really dark gray colored Changeling. Their mane and tail was dark-pastel blue, long and straight down. Their eyes were that of Chrysalis’s, and her elytra was faded nicotine, with a pastel “ V “ lined with it. Their carapace was dark green. Next to them, was a translucent, turquoise figure of Thorax. He was full with shock, just as the other Changeling was.

” WHAT DID YOU DO, CHRYSALIS?!?! “ He screamed. She looked to the now spirit version of Thorax, as he was physically panicking, trying to push his hooves together, only for them to phase through eachother.

“ Hey! I didn’t do this! I don’t think- “

” DON’T THINK?! SO WHO DID?! “ He screeched, a very angry and freaked out expression slapped on his face.

“ It was probably Twilight, or something. That foul alicorn is always doing something. “ She said. Thorax just blinked. He didn’t really think it was her...but it might be. Thorax just thought for a moment, humming. The other Changeling rolled his eyes and checked herself out.

“ The hell are you doing.. “ Thorax’s eyes squinted, confused. He just stood there, as the dark colored Changeling was checking herself out.

“ What do you think I’m doing? “ the dark Changeling rolls her eyes, and walks around a bit. Chrysalis missed having an actual body to control. But..she knew it wasn’t the same as before. The turquoise figure of Thorax follows behind her. Him? They? He didn’t know at this point. He realized, that when Chrysalis was in control, she changed the height, so she was about a few inches taller than him now.

” Why am I always for short compared to you.. “ He questioned out loud.

“ I’ve always been taller than you, Thorax. Deal with it. “ She said plainly.

“ Hey. I wasn’t talking to you, Chrysalis.. ” He hissed. She stopped, turning to him.

“ Now you know, huh? “

” Yeah, I do. “ He glared, still hating the hole-legged tyrant with all of his gut. Chrysalis just smirked, and kept walking. Thorax growled, before walking the opposite direction. They both heard somepony walking. It wasn’t Chrysalis, for sure. It came from somewhere else. Out of nowhere, Twilight walked in the room they were currently in. She looked at the dark Changeling, not seeing Thorax anywhere.

“ ..Did it work? “

“ What? Wha-ohhhhh...you did this, didn’t you.. “ She sneered. Twilight glanced about, and nodded, awkwardly. The Changeling looked to her side, looking at Thorax with a “ Told you. “ look. He blinked. They didn’t know why. Or how. Chrysalis just glared at Twilight for a moment, before inhaling.

“ ...Why. Why did you think this was a good idea-at all?! “ She questioned, putting a hoof to her head.

“ I just wanted to see if you able to share bodies...it seems like it worked. “

“ Yes. It did. Now, how— “ She paused, when a turquoise blur of light passed next to her, and leaped onto Twilight. The Changeling backed away, wondering. Wait. If he’s a spirit, and he’s able to interact with things..then I could too! But, he couldn’t before...he must’ve figured out how.. She thought. But, other Thant that, Thorax was pissed.

“ WHAT THE ACTUAL F—K WERE YOU ACTUALLY THINKING?! “ He screeched. Twilight was on the ground, curled up, as the Changeling on top of her was showing almost every ounce of anger he had right now, baring teeth. They had gotten sharper, and more threatening. The Princess looked to the dark Changeling, as she had a cup of tea, just sipping it. Twilight didn’t expect much from her anyways.

” Well?! “ Thorax hissed. Twilight looked back to the angered Changeling.

“ What I was thinking, is that Chrysalis could see what things are like, but in a different way. It worked before, so— “

” Really. REALLY?! LOOK AT HER! DOES IT REALLY LOOK LIKE SHE WOULD CARE?! “ He pointed to the Changeling behind him, sipping of another cup of tea she made randomly appear. She looked at them, confused

“ What? “ She said, before sipping her teacup again. Thorax looked back to Twilight, still pointing at her.

“ Ok-I’ll admit..she isn’t too interested, but— “

” EXACTLY! “ He face-hoofed himself. Twilight just groaned. The turquoise Changeling let out one last hiss, before lifting into the air. Twilight, finally being able to get up, backed away from the Changeling.

“ Ok. You both can switch bodies, whenever you want. Just to let you know. But, Chrysalis should- “

“ Twilight. I can’t be called Chrysalis in public. The ponies will think I got freed from stone, in a different form. “ She said. Twilight paused, thinking for a second. She just nodded, like she already knew. Thorax and Chrysalis just rolled their eyes, and looked at eachother. Chrysalis perked up for a second.

“ I know! I can just call myself ‘ Ultra ‘. “ She said, giving out an idea. Thorax looked for a moment, before smiling for the first time in a while?

“ That’s a wonderful idea! “ He smiled, pretty happily. It sounded like sarcasm, but he wasn’t actually being sarcastic. Twilight blinked, in disagreement.

“ Uhm. Don’t you think you two should pick something more...creative? “ She suggested. They both turned and glared at her. Twilight sunk.

“ Ok. Ok. Do what you want! “ She said, backing away. She just trotted off, leaving the two Changeling’s next to eachother. Oddly, they both hoof-bumped, smirking. Chrysalis, or “ Ultra “, started walking off to the outside, following behind her was Thorax. They were just gonna head home.

That’s what they wanted to do anyways.

Ultra and Thorax were flying to the Hive, Ultra going the right way-well-with Thorax’s help. He didn’t want either of them getting lost, or in danger again. They heard a loud rumble nearby, and they frantically looked around. Next thing they knew, the large boulder was flying toward them. Ultra squeaked, and flew to the right, dodging it.

“ W-What was that?! “ He looked around. She turned, and a another rock hit her in the head. She went spiraling down to the ground, hitting the rocky ground. She got up, rubbing her head. Thorax flew down to help her, lifting her up. Another rock started flying toward them, but they dodged quickly.

“ I think I know where it’s coming from.. “ She pointed up to the Hive, rocks rolling down. For some reason, a yak plummeted down, got up and ran off. Thorax looked up, and blinked. Ultra heard a low and deathly growl come from the king.

“ Pharynx.. “ He flew up to the Hive quickly, Ultra following. She wondered why he got so mad? Was something happening? Was he supposed to be here for something? Then, for some reason, she felt bad for getting them attacked by Onyx Star. If it weren’t for her...

She shook her head. She didn’t have a reason to feel bad, it was an accident. She still felt..a bit bad, but not too much. Once they got up there, they were in shock. There were yaks stomping, and throwing rocks everywhere! The Changeling’s hid, and fled. Pharynx tried to keep all of them safe at once, failing. Ultra had...no words. How, and why? Was this what her Hive came to? It was a mess. No wonder Thorax is so stressed all the time. She heard another low and deadly growl from Thorax’s throat. He was absolutely pissed.

“ Chrysalis. Control. Now. “ Thorax demanded. Chrysalis looked to him.

“ But- “

“ Now. Do NOT make me repeat this again. “ Thorax hissed. Chrysalis blinked, impressed. She sighed, and smirked.

“ You’re learning so well. “ She said, giving him control again. His bright colors came back, and he stood. He took a deep breath, before lighting up his antlers. A loud beam blasted into the air, turning everyone’s attention to him. All the Changeling’s were glad he was here, but Pharynx...well..wasn’t really. At this state, disappointing him, wasn’t too light as before. Vines rose from the ground, grabbing all of the yaks, and slowly bringing them below the Hive. He watched as they walked away, angrily. All of the other Changeling’s walked away, as soon as Thorax turned back to the rest of the hive.

“ B-Bro. I-I can explain— “

“ Stop. Talking. “ He stopped Pharynx in his tracks. He felt little, to no remorse right now.

“ Next time, please cut the event until I come back. Don’t do it again. You hear me? “ He hissed, threateningly. Pharynx sighed, and nodded. Thorax walked away, glaring at him one last time. Once he got to his room, he crumbled to the floor, exhausted.

“ hhhHhhhHhhhh... “ He moaned. Chrysalis stood next to him, impressed. She sat next to him, and patted his head.

” You’re finally growing a spine. “ She giggled, and smirked. Thorax groaned, and turned away. She sighed, and laid on him. He shivered, and sighed. His eyes closed, and fell asleep. Chrysalis noticed this, and gave him some space. She got off of him, and laid next to him instead. She mumbled goodnight, and faded away, disappearing.
