Chapter 24: Unknown Aspects

Previous ChapterNext Chapter

It was clear that Azure didn't want to speak to Sadjoy at all, due to the loud roar that he gave her earlier. Despite time passing, the rain had still not stopped with its presence, making it more of an unwanted burden rather than a saving grace. Azure just sat down and looked out of the window, wanting to see if he could have spotted anything that would have made his mind jump to a point, trying to keep his brain as active as possible, only to keep the thought of him shouting out of his mind.

Plumjuice came over with another warm drink, knowing exactly how Azure was feeling, due to him opening up to both Gretzky and Plumjuice about how he was feeling at that point in time, almost being able to hit an all time low, which was not something that one should have been proud of at all. Plumjuice placed the drink in Azure’s hooves, before sitting down next to him and looking outside in the rain for something that might have sparked her interest. Sadly, there was nothing about that she had already seen from the window, which made the rain more of a bad thing than it normally was, due to them all wanting to go out and explore or talk to others.

Rain falling as heavy as it was, was very, very bad, due to the amount of radiation that would come at a short time. Their only option was to wait for all of the rain to fade away, or waste a metric ton of radaway and rad x, just to be able to go outside with no hassle. Azure took a sip of the drink, noticing that it was still very hot, due to it coming from a hot place, which made him lower the drink and rest his head against the window, feeling almost as useless as he did before, back when…

Azure paused himself, before hitting his head a little, getting the attention of both Gretzky and Plumjuice at the exact same time, which made him recoil with shyness and sorrow. Azure kept thinking about the past and that was something that needed to be stopped from that point on, making him want to erase his mind, just to clear his head of all doubt and thoughts. Being in a negative mood only strengthened Azure’s thinking, as well as being trapped within a house, giving him more time to think.

Azure walked over to his saddlebags and dragged them back over to the living room area of the house, making him pull out things from his saddlebag and throw them on the floor, only to get it all out so that he could search through it. There were a lot of things that were within Azure’s saddlebag and he had never really checked out and sorted out his saddlebag, so this was as good as a time as ever, to use the time to distract himself as well as sort something out that needed to be sorted out anyway.

There were no medical supplies, apart from the radaway that he had picked up before and a couple of bandages from when he was working in Journey, which was a place that Azure wished that he could go back to, but sadly it wasn't and option, due to them being more than a days walk from journey, They were a little South West of Tenpony Tower, which was only and hour or two away, making them the area to get their supplies from and get all of Gretzky’s supplies from as well.

Azure noticed something that was out of the ordinary, which was something that he did not recall happening to him. There was a memory orb that had been placed within Azure’s bag, which had not been put there by Azure himself, which gave him no idea how it managed to sneak into there. He took it out and looked at it for a brief second, before placing it to the side and then looking in his back for some more stuff. He noticed that there were a couple of things in the bag that were not his own, making him think that he might have taken the wrong bag, but he clearly didn’t, due to the amount of medical supplies that were originally in the bag after Blitz’s departure from the group. Azure was a little taken back by the amount of stuff that was in there that was Blitz’s, due to him seeing a lot of things like the memory orb and the a couple of weapons in there that Blitz collected and picked up. What made it even more strange was that Blitz placed all of the items in his saddlebag without him noticing, like he knew that he was going to…

Azure’s mind went blank at the sight of the image of Blitz and his mother, making Azure’s breathing slow down to almost a stop, as well as making his heart race like he had just been shot. Metaphorically, he had been! Azure went completely still and silent, making Plumjuice go over to check on him, before freezing at the sight of him looking at an image of some sort. Plumjuice looked at the image from behind Azure and noticed instantly that it was an image of Blitz, due to the blue highlights on the horn and ears, standing out a lot within the photo, due to it being in perfect noir fashion, apart from his eyes, horn and ears, along with his back, being as bright as the other parts of his body, almost like the colour was trying to escape from the black and white.

Plumjuice hugged Azure from behind, before seeing a tear trickle down Azure’s face, hating to see one of her friends grieve about something that happened so long ago. She knew that Azure missed Blitz, but there was a bond between them that she didn't know about, something that connected them on a more emotional level. Plumjuice looked down to Azure and wiped his cheek with her hoof, before giving him more hugs. Azure looked back at Plumjuice and smiled softly, before turning the image over and seeing a bunch of writing on the back, making him squint to read it.

“To my closest friend Azure, I hope that you keep this image as a memory that I will never die. If I do, then you need to keep me alive in your heart and restore faith to the Equestrian Wasteland, just like you restored my hope in ponykind! Find the note within your saddlebag, it is really important!” the note read, giving Azure incentive to try to look through his saddlebag more.

Azure began to shake his saddlebag from the top, getting all of the items within to come out. Plumjuice joined in, seeing the note that Azure had read to himself. There was something that Azure had missed out on before Blitz had passed away, making them both want to get to the bottom of the story that Blitz was trying to tell. Azure found a note that was attached to a bigger piece of paper, making his curiosity get the better of him and made him want to open it quickly. He opened the note before he did the bigger piece of paper, knowing that the note would tell himself and Plumjuice more about what Blitz had been hiding from plain sight.

“Ah, so you did find the right note then? Good! The memory orb that i have given to you might show you something that might suggest something very important to myself. There are a bunch of plans within the attached piece of paper and a list of items that might make your healing potions work better. There are some weapons for multiple ponies in a little sack, which will be useful on a later date. There is also a little gift for you, my dear friend Azure. Inside the lowest part of this note is a little pocket with something in there, just to allow you to remember our travels. I will return! I will be reunited with you, one was or another! I will get closer than you may think…” the note read out, making Azure instantly go down to the pocket of the note and open it up, seeing something within.

Inside the pocket was a necklace of pure silver, which looked exactly like the one in the image that Blitz and his mother were both wearing, giving him a look of shock and surprise at the same time, baffling Azure to the point of no return. It was either Blitz’s necklace, or it was his mother’s necklace, which made him hold it close to his heart, before placing it over his head and sighing happily. Something felt off about the necklace, but it wasn't a necklace, it was an amulet of some type, one that made him feel a little funny. Azure was beginning to yawn a little, before he suddenly passed out and laid flat on the floor.

Everything that happened so fast that Azure thought that one moment he blinked and was in another world of some sort, which was technically true, but only to some degree, due to him being in a different world. Azure noticed that the world was lighter, more vibrant than the Equestrian Wasteland, which was something that Azure had never seen before, making him want to explore, but sadly he confined to one room, making him a little annoyed that he was unable to explore that vast landscape that was presented before him, almost like a sick joke that he would never be able to experience.

Blitz got thrown within the room, before getting the doors locked behind him, being only able to see the window and what else it held. Azure looked at Blitz, knowing that he wouldn't have been able to talk to Blitz then and there, due to this being something like a memory, but how was Azure able to see from a different view? Was Azure seeing everything from the viewpoint of… Blitz’s mother? Azure wasn't able to move around anymore, sensing that it was true about what he had suggested.

Azure was forced to look at his best friend through the eyes of his mother, which was something that did not sink in well with Azure. One of the raiders entered the room and began to drag Blitz out of the room. Azure’s host raised their hoof and shouted at the raider, before going over and bucking them away from a young Blitz. It was kind of cute to see Blitz as a little changeling colt, making Azure see him as even cuter than before. The raider got back up and brought out a big blunt object, being more of a baton than anything else that Azure thought about.

The raider struck the bug with a lot of force, even though Azure could not feel the actions that were taking place, as well as being glad that he couldn't, saving him the mental thoughts for later. Azure wanted to pursue the story that was taking place, so he did the best that he could to focus on the main part of the memory. Azure was moved to another part of the room, before being beaten with the baton like item again, and again… and again. Azure felt his body almost teleport over to a different point of view, seeing Blitz’s mother being beaten to death, just how Blitz had seen it.

There was a sudden phase shift and Azure found himself looking at the ground, moving with a little convoy. Azure was seeing some hooves and the same necklace, indicating Blitz was walking, but when was the event? Blitz looked up and looked at Shifty, before looking at Zavier, seeing that they were both either side of him, protecting him like he was family. There were some ponies ahead of them, but they didn't matter. Azure kept his eyes on the familiar looking zebra and gasped, before making Blitz stop. Blitz looked down at the amulet that was glowing, which made him smile a little.

“If you are hearing this, if this is you, Azure, then I am sorry that I can’t be with you right now. I got some things that I got to take care of first, before I am able to meet back up with you. Trust me when I say this, but I will meet with you again, you just got to be patient. Speaking out of the way of death, Grayscale and Noname are not the final boss. I will tell you more when we meet. Until then, watch that memory orb… I know you haven't.” Blitz explained, before pushing Azure out the vision that he was seeing, somehow.

Azure couldn't see anything that was going on, but Azure could hear the familiar voice of the zebra that was with Blitz. Zavier definitely had some sort of accent, but Azure never really picked up on it during the time that Azure was having Zavier as part of the group.

“Blitz, who were you talking to?” Zavier asked, sounding more concerned than confused, due to Blitz pretty much speaking to himself in regards to them not knowing the situation that was going on within the amulet that he kept hold of.

“A good ol’ friend!” Blitz stated, before going silent. Azure kept his ears out for anything that might have been important for him to discover the events of where his changeling friend was going. Before Azure was able to react to anything or leave the vision, somepony that he didn't know spoke somewhere within the darkness, making him a little scared, but then he froze as he then realised that the audio was coming from the amulet, being that it wasn't within the darkness, but more so on Blitz’s side of the light, meaning that it was somepony that was speaking on his end, rather than Azure’s.

“Dad, was that your friend that you are searching for?” somepony asked, Azure wanting to find out who this pony was calling dad in the first place. Something happened that confused Azure massively and made him stop to think about stuff that was going on within the Wasteland, as well as the change in mood to find Blitz as quickly as he could. He was a little shocked at something that Blitz did.

“Yes son, that was my good friend, now we must find him!” Blitz stated, before all of the noise from his end was cut and Azure was forced to walk towards a light that was piercing the darkness that he was within, brightening it just a bit and making the area… not change at all, apart from lighting his face and body a little. Azure was slowly brought back to the world that he was in, the life he was living and the ponies and creatures that he could trust the most.

Azure woke up a blanket on the floor, making him scratch his head in confusion at what just happened. Gretzky was looking at Azure on the floor, before he outstretched his claw to him, allowing him to get up easier, if he so chose to do so. Azure accepted the offer and was dragged up from the floor, getting to his own hooves and sitting back down for a second or two, catching his breath from the events that had just gone on before him. Azure didn't know what he saw, but he wanted to believe that it was real, not fake or recorded. He wanted to believe that the amulet was something that linked Blitz to Azure and Azure to Blitz, but then it made a little bit more sense to Azure. He knew that Blitz and his mother had a close link and what not, maybe the amulet was what allowed them to link so closely. It was clearly an idea, one that made a little more sense than it being a dream, but Azure still had the memory orb that he hasn't seen. He decided to leave the memory orb for a little bit, before discussing the events that went on to Plumjuice and Gretzky. Azure didn't leave out a single detail about the events that he had just been pushed into, not giving him any idea as to what was going on or where they were going.

“And then Blitz responded to it, so maybe he might actually have a son!” Azure stated, gossiping more than anything about the fact that Blitz had a colt of his own. Gretzky smiled a little and so did Plumjuice, but they both were as baffled as Azure was about the events. Maybe they could have been planned, but the logic of the situation was that Blitz had never originally met with Zavier, back when the fight against the settlement occurred, making it more than likely that the events that they were talking about were going on live when Azure was watching it.

Gretzky pondered the thought of it being live for a second, before nodding in agreement. He seemed pretty confident with what was going on with the events of Blitz and his little group, but there was something that seemed a little off. Why would he have held off on trying to look for where they were all situated? Was there something else that was going on behind closed doors that they didn't know about, or was something up with Blitz? They didn't know at all, making their minds draw a blank at Blitz in general. Their main goal was to recover the last two artifacts, which were somewhere within the Equestrian Wasteland. Azure looked at his Pipbuck to see the location of the final two.

One of them was not showing, but the other was slowly moving North, meaning that somepony had the item. Azure’s next goal was to get the artifact that was on the move, which was too far for Azure to travel on his own, being that it would have taken him a day and a little bit extra to get to where the group was on the map that he was looking at. He wanted to know who the ponies or creatures were that were taking the item and wanted to know where they were taking the item, making it more and more vital to keep eyes on the group as they moved from the point that they were pinged at.

Azure wanted to know why one of them was not showing, making him a little frustrated about not seeing one of the things that they were after, due to it being something that they eventually needed to complete the artifact collection. Roselight was yet to find the area that all of the artifacts went in order to work, but that was something that she was trying to find out by working around the clock and pinpointing key locations that it could have been at. Right then and there, Azure was certain that it was probably going to be somewhere like Hoofington, one of the most dangerous places within the Wasteland, due to the defences that were in place to wipe out anything that crossed past the invisible border.

Azure thought for a second, before getting a drink passed to him, via Plumjuice before she sat down in front of Azure, lifting his chin up and gazing into his eyes. She smiled, before letting go of his chin, but keeping her eyes on his, like they were trying to go for a staring contest. Plumjuice moved back before going to sit on the couch again, looking down at Azure as she began to listen to the music that was playing on the radio next to her. Gretzky was a little taken back by how much was happening to Azure and felt a little bit bad for him. Gretzky only wanted Azure to relax after how much he had been through, but it seemed that the world had different plans.

Azure shifted himself on the floor, making himself comfortable as he closed his eyes and listened to the calm and collective music that was playing on the radio, making him catch up with the lyrics and hum them faintly to himself, making his mind rest from all of the torment that he was receiving from the rest of the world. Azure was pretty sure that he was one of the unluckiest ponies in the Wasteland, but he knew that there was somepony or some creature that was having a worse time than he was, making him go back to humming gently.

Gretzky looked at his Pipbuck, before seeing what the time was. He was meant to be meeting somepony soon, which would have increased how much he sold at his shop, but due to the weather not letting up, the pony that wanted to trade with him would have brought a radiation suit, to avoid all of the hazardous rain that would eventually dissolve anything that it came across, even buildings and trees, making Azure a little more afraid of the toxic water that fell from the sky.

Gretzky took a radiation suit off a peg and put it on, being assisted by Plumjuice in the process, making it not only quicker, but easier to get on the suit. Azure just watched the two and smiled, wishing that the pony that he was originally with could have been that loyal to help him through the hard times. Azure tried to forget all of the bad times and focused on the scene before him. A gryphon trying to get suited up in a pony radiation suit. It was pretty funny to watch, but Azure knew that he shouldn’t laugh at the scene, due to it being the only way that Gretzky was able to go out without getting any radiation.

The suit was on and before Plumjuice was able to get another word in, he was out the door and running to his shop, making the mare chuckle about her special somepony’s habits. She closed the door before turning back to Azure and chuckling a little bit.

“He is a bit of a pain, but that’s the cost of love!” Plumjuice stated, before sitting back on the couch for a little while, being able to finally rest and relax, as she turned up the radio and enjoyed the tunes that were playing. There were some really good tunes that were played across the radio waves, making them perfect for watching the rain like Azure was. That was the only thing that he was able to do, due to the rain being more of a burden than a help.

Azure looked back to his saddlebag and looked at the memory orb again, making him question how to use it. He wasn't a unicorn afterall, so he couldn't tap the orb against his horn, so he had to think about how he was going to go about doing some stuff to get the orb to work. He looked at the orb, seeing that it was definitely mysterious in its own light, but something was off about the one that he was holding compared to others that he had seen along his travels within the Wasteland. There was some writing on the orb itself, along with the orb flashing red from time to time, which happened very faintly, indicating that it was corrupted.

This scared Azure slightly, due to what happened to Blitz when he entered the corrupted orb originally, making him become scarred for life with the invisions of the events that transpired, with the Ministry Mare speaking to him, face to face. Azure recalled the magical nature of the mare called Pinkie Pie, due to her being able to break the fourth wall without having a horn, which was true magic that no other pony could possess. Azure focused on the middle of the orb, before getting a shock from the orb somehow, making him drop it by accident. A normal orb would have smashed, but Azure’s orb didn't, making him feel like this was one that was special somehow. Azure looked up to Plumjuice to see her holding the orb with her magic, making Azure come to a swift conclusion.

Plumjuice tried to read the writing, but couldn't make it out, due to the writing of Blitz being not the greatest, especially due to being written on such a unique item. She opened her eyes a little more, being a little shocked at what she could make out on the orb.

“I can’t exactly read all of it, but there is something here about seeing Lumia and Delta. Why would that be?” Plumjuice asked herself, getting a reaction from Azure in regards to the item that she was holding. Azure knew what he had to do, but he would have to wait for the rain to pass, before rushing over to see the professor again, being able to see them whenever he wanted to, due to them liking his company there and caring for him a little too much, which was not anything bad at all.

All that was left to do was wait, which was something that would have been the hardest part of what he needed to do, due to him hating being motionless for too long. Azure thought back to the time that he and Blitz fought together, being the pony that he would always come to if he needed a medic, or even if he was having something that was on his mind. Azure did indeed miss those times, but soon enough, if the amulet was telling the truth, he could possibly find his friend that he had not spoken to for what seemed a lifetime.

Azure noticed that the rain was slowly easing up, making his opportunity to run out and get to Delta become closer and closer, waiting for it just to stop, before he wanted to bolt out of the door. The rain was the only hindrance that was trapping him within the confines of the house, but Azure was determined to wait for the one chance that he would have gotten when the rain finally subsided. His opportunity was coming closer, seeing that it had slowed down completely, giving him a very short window to work with.

Azure walked to the door before opening it and bolted out into the drizzle, seeing that it was slowly coming back, which was something that he did not want at that point. It was a trap, making Azure feel more and more of the rain as it came back in full force. He was nearly at the house, being just a couple houses down from the likes of Gretzky’s and Plumjuice’s home, making his journey a lot quicker and a lot less risky.

Azure got to the house and opened the door, before walking inside and closing it behind him. He was soaked, which was not good for him, since the radiation would linger more on wet fur than it would on dry fur, making him more of a hazard while he was soaked. Lumia came in with her magic, a towel in her possession. She began to rub Azure over with the towel, before looking at his Pipbuck to see his radiation levels. They were alright, making Lumia breathe a sigh of relief, as he metallic respirator revved up a little.

“What brings you here, Azure?” Delta asked over the speakers, music playing in the background of the room. Azure didn't speak for a couple of moments, before looking around and seeing multiple speakers, making the audio sound like it was coming from every angle possible. It was pretty cool, in Azure’s eyes at least.

“I need your help!” Azure stated, before going into a deep conversation with Delta about what was going on. Azure spent a little while speaking to both Delta and Lumia about what he had seen within the amulet and what was written on the memory orb, which was passed over to Lumia to have a look at. She too noticed that it was corrupted, but Azure did tell them that he found it like that within his saddlebag and that he was pretty sure that it was meant to be like that, due to Blitz being the only one that might have viewed the orb, but was it the same one that Blitz originally used? Azure couldn't remember if the orb that Blitz used when he went into the memory of another pony broke, making him depend on a fifty-fifty choice between if he was right or not.

“Interesting! So Blitz might actually be alive after all this time. If so, then we have a lot of catching up to do!” Delta explained, showing Azure something that he originally had not seen from Delta. There was an image of a pegasus that looked like the one that Blitz was accompanying, carrying some sort of heavy weapon and laughing as he was shooting down ponies. Azure was pretty sure that it was a different pegasus, but it looked so similar to the one that Blitz was travelling with within his vision within the amulet, making his head hurt a little with the worry of his friend probably being in more danger than he originally knew.

Delta looked over the orb, Lumia holding it still with her magic before raising it up to a camera for the professor to look at, since they were unable to hold the item because they lacked a physical form to do so. Azure still felt bad for Delta, due to them not being able to go back into their body, due to it eroding away and what not. Azure was pretty sure that the professor was able to put himself into the body of another robot, but they would have to find another body of one, which was a tiny bit difficult to say the least.

“You do realise that the memory orb is corrupted, meaning that it will not work as intended or as the creator intended at least.” Delta explained, Azure nodding his head, knowing that it would not be how Blitz had remembered it, but being slightly different to what he wanted Azure to watch. Azure just wanted to see what Blitz knew about that Azure needed to know so badly that Blitz wanted him to see. If it was able to help him out, then that would have been amazing.

“Who made the memory orb anyway?” Lumia asked, not getting a response from Azure until she got his attention. He nodded, before trying to think about it. It must have been Blitz who created it, due to how he managed to sneak it into Azure’s saddlebag without him noticing for months. Azure looked at the necklace in his saddlebag before he dropped the bags to put it on, making them both look at him, being a little confused. He put the necklace around his neck and felt a sudden energy surge, before the amulet gleaned like a star.

“I’m pretty sure Blitz did, but i guess that i’ll have to find out, once I find a way to use it, not being a unicorn and all.” Azure stated, being a little more confident with his words, making him not think about saying the wrong thing at all, which was something that Azure regularly did, just to make sure that he didn't mess up saying anything. Azure was feeling that the amulet was giving him some sort of secret powers, making it easy for him to get on with the straightforward things and move on to the more important parts or pieces of this puzzle that Azure and his friends were trying to solve, doing a good job so far.

“I might be able to help with that and so might Lumia.” Delta stated, before talking to Lumia about what she was going to do with the memory orb. While they were talking about it, Azure was told to go and take a seat in one of the padded, warm chairs, the same ones that Azure came to them being sat in. in this context, them counting as Lumia and Lilly. Azure hopped up into the chair and curled up, keeping himself warm, only for Lumia to come over and hop up onto the chair with him, sitting beside him in the same chair. She moved her cold metallic body around and wrapped up Azure, making him feel cold for a brief second, before the heat overwhelmed him and made him feel ever so nice.

Lumia used her magic to lift up the memory orb and slowly moved it towards Azure’s head, making him not only feel a little bit sleepier, but also making able to see something. That something was blurred out for the time being, but as the orb got closer, it got incredibly stronger, making him able to see more of the picture. She touched the orb flat against Azure’s head, before seeing him pass out, due to being within the orb. She placed the orb next to them both as she snuggled Azure, keeping him warm within the dream that he had been placed within, keeping a watchful eye as well, on the memory orb, as it flickered to dark red, something that scared her just a little.

Azure was sucked into some type of portal, giving him some weird effect that he was forced to look at, looking like some sort of loading screen from a video game or whatnot. He thought it looked cool, but the colours morphed together, creating some sort of illusion that began to hurt his head, before all of the colour faded and he was left with nothing but blackness. Azure was pretty sure that the perspective was going to be of Blitz, but something was up. There was no light in the memory orb, before Blitz used the light of the Pipbuck that he had just acquired.

Judging by Blitz having a Pipbuck, Azure felt like he was back in the sewers again, due to that being the only time that he could recall Blitz having access to a Pipbuck. Azure noticed that he was not seeing what Blitz was seeing, making him feel a little out of it, but at least he was able to move around freely and get it all from a different angle. Blitz was slowly walking, holding the Pipbuck in the air, keeping an eye out for any signs of life. Blitz was walking slow enough that it could have been considered not moving, but it was expected, especially when he didn't know what was down in the place that he was.

Azure flew backwards, seeing Blitz slowly begin to pick up some pace, before staying low, making Azure turn to see a light coming from the end of the tunnel. There were some patrols scouring the area, so Blitz did the only thing he could do at that point. He jumped into the water, holding his breath and using his magic to supply him with oxygen, as he swam below the water, making little to no noise at all. The patrol passed over the top of him, before fading into the darkness that was behind him.

Blitz came out of the water, gasping for air that his lungs craved more of and not the replacement air that he was giving to himself under the water. Azure felt a little worried about Blitz’s health, due to Blitz coughing and then drawing blood within his mouth, making him believe that something was wrong with Blitz. Azure kept following him, making sure that he didn't miss anything.

“Wait, did I just see that correctly?” Blitz asked, going over to the wall and resting against it, using his blood covered hoof to smudge the wall and make it noticeable. Azure didn't see what happened, but he was pretty sure that it was something important, making him feel like he needed to see what Blitz was seeing in order to get what was happening with Blitz.

Blitz turned to see that there was a ghoul down at the end of the passageway, making him instantly draw his weapon, pointing it at the feral ghoul, before walking in its direction, due to Blitz needing to get past the ghoul to get where he needed to go, which was home, back towards the old settlement. Azure did miss his old home, but he knew that it was better to move away from all of the chaos that happened within that area. He was glad that there was little to no trouble at their new settlement, due to it being in a location that was unknown as of then, making it very difficult for ponies and other creatures to track down.

Azure watched Blitz for a hot minute, before he got within striking distance from the feral ghoul. Blitz was ready to blow the head off the ghoul that was looking directly at him, the ghoul’s eyes being cloudy and almost colourless, showing that it was completely drained of all life. Both Blitz and Azure had no idea why the ghoul was not attacking, but he noticed that the ghoul kept looking at the area that Blitz had just marked with his blood.

“Umm, hello?” Blitz stated, before the ghoul looked at him and raised a hoof, understanding exactly what he had said. Blitz was somewhat happy to see that the ghoul was not trying to kill him, which was a change from other ghouls wanting his flesh and chitin as food and armour. The ghoul didn't say a word, as he walked past Blitz and over to the wall, before rubbing his hoof against it softly, before being about to press something. Suddenly, he was painted all over the wall, covering the little bit of green that Blitz put on it to mark it, into something that was covered from top to bottom with red blood from the ghoul.

The Steel Ranger who had just killed the ghoul, or at least popped him, was looking directly at Blitz, about to do the exact same. Azure watched as the changeling lifted up his hoof and jumped into the water, before disappearing. Azure was slowly dragged in a certain direction away from the Steel Ranger, before seeing a horde of angry rapid feral ghouls charging at the maker of all of the noise. Blitz was underwater, so he couldn't be spotted by the mass amount of ghouls running above him. Their hoofsteps above shook the water and Blitz could feel each individual step that was being taken above him, followed by the gunshots of the Steel Ranger that had been muffled due to the water.

Blitz appeared a little down the line, making him able to turn and spectate the events that were occurring before him. Blitz watched as the horde overran the Steel Ranger, before hearing a noise that could only be described as a siren, indicating that something was happening underground, where they all were. They all looked around and wanted to know what was happening, before the Steel Ranger popped back up, due to them being distracted enough that they didn't have any focus on him. The Steel Ranger let loose a stream of bullets around him, killing off plenty of ghouls, but attracting more and more to swarm him, making his struggle harder and harder as they clawed at his armour.

There were plenty of ghouls walking past Blitz, which didn't notice him at first, but then changed their attention to him, not seeing him as a threat for some reason, which baffled him a little. Blitz felt a little more worried that they didn't see him as a threat, but that made his mind stutter a little bit with the thought of him being immune to ghouls. Was it his blood? Was it his chitin? What was it? Blitz focused on one thing at that moment in time, which was making sure the Steel Ranger was dead as well as getting away from the rest of the ghouls.

Blitz watched in horror, as the ghouls got rid of the underside of the Steel Ranger’s armour plating, being able to lash and scratch at his stomach, which is exactly what they did. One of the ghouls bit straight into his stomach, dragging out some blood and some of his stomach, before other ghouls caught wind of the meal opportunity and then moved in to feast on the belly of the beast that was killing more and more of their kind, making sure to eat him from the inside out.

A loud beeping noise roared within the sewer, indicating that something was about to go down, as he saw a couple of pegasus ghouls travelling towards him. One landed next to him, as the others continued to move down the sewer system, before a large rush of water made itself present in their location, making them all move as quickly as they could, Blitz taking flight, before being chased down by the pegasus, thinking that it might have wanted to hurt him. Blitz was not going to be taking any chances, making him turn and shoot the pegasus ghoul in the face, making its eyes glow a bright red, before it lunged at Blitz within the air, missing by a couple of hairs.

All of this action was happening while Azure was getting dragged on the ground, feeling like he was levitating for a while, before he used his wings and caught up to the scene, before it was cut off, just in time for him not to be seen. As Azure slowly left the memory of Blitz, there was something that just kept on his mind, making him come up with a plan, if Lumia and Delta were able to pull through with it.

Azure woke up and instantly took a look around, seeing that he was in the same place as he had fallen asleep in, which was one of the chairs… or was it? Azure didn't have time to ponder on such bad questions, making him only focus on the important things. Azure walked over to Lumia, who was holding the memory orb with her magic still, looking down at Azure.

“Is there a way to fix a memory orb?” Azure asked, before getting a confusing look from the robotic mare, showing more emotion in her face than Azure had ever done. She thought for a minute, before nodding, knowing one way that she could have repaired the memory orb, but it required a specific item to be used on the orb before it would fix itself.

“Yes, but I need you to go out and find the machine that we need for it, which was pretty common before the bombs dropped, but most of them are in the bigger cities around us, meaning that not only would we have to give up a lot of caps, but we would have to travel to find one. There was definitely one or two in Tenpony Tower, that I know as a fact, due to me seeing it when we originally travelled in there and got stripped of our weapons.” Lumia explained, knowing exactly where to look to find such an item of importance. Azure was up to the task of travelling but wanted to wait till they had some nicer weather than the weather that they were having right there and then, as it began to pick up and pour once again.

Delta was not going to allow Azure to leave in the rain, so he decided that it would have been best for them to all stay within the confines of the house, just so there wouldn't be any radiation issues for Azure, making him feel right at home with yet another hot drink, exactly like the one that Plumjuice gave to him earlier, easing his nerves.

“If I may ask Azure, why do you want to fix Blitz’s memory orb?” Delta asked, wanting to know what he had not seen that he needed to get the orb fixed for him to be able to. Azure explained to them both about the events within the memory orb, which made them both a little confused, thinking the exact same way as Azure.

“How was Blitz immune to ghouls then, but got his throat torn out by one of them?” Lumia asked, pondering all she knew about her brief encounter with said changeling, making her even more confused than she already was.

“I believe that it was something to do with the spirits within him, right Azure?” Delta asked, Azure going completely blank as he lost himself within the memory of Blitz’s throat being ripped out, before snapping the jaws of the ghoul in two, making Azure begin to realise that Blitz had actually been serious when he said that he had made a deal with Death, but then Azure thought about something. Were the events that happened in the memory before or after Blitz’s encounter with Death? Azure paused for a split second, before coming to a conclusion or speculation that he could see was plausible, making his mind think about it more and more.

“What if Death knew that he was immune, but made the ghoul bite him to force him into a deal with Death, due to it being a lifeline question?” Azure stated, disregarding the other two in the room for the moment, before coming back to reality. Azure stared at the others and saw the same expressions that he had been wearing on his face when he was thinking about the exact same thing.

“You could be right, Azure!” Lumia stated, remembering the sight of Blitz and how he became a little distant for each of the groups that he was put in, apart from the ones with Azure in there, due to them being the bestest of friends. Blitz did push them all apart, knowing full well that he could have been able to teleport away and save himself, but he didn't, but they all didn't know that there was a magic cancellation spell that was cast above him, making him unable to cast any more magic like teleportation.

Was Death really trying to corrupt Blitz to do his dirty work for him? It was something that was bothering Azure a little more than he would have liked, making him feel a little uncomfortable just thinking about it. Blitz had already been through so much, so why did he have to endure more pain for the pleasure of Death. With Death within him, Blitz was pretty much unkillable, but as soon as Death came out of Blitz’s body, Blitz would have been weak to everything.

Azure tried to stop thinking about it, but he couldn't, only making the thought stronger and stronger, enveloping his mind in corruption that he didn't possess, making his head hurt a little from how much thinking he was doing about the subject. Azure closed his eyes and took a deep breath, before exhaling and looking at the other two who were within the room, seeing that they both were pondering the idea of Blitz being used in some way or another, not to save the world, but for Death’s own personal gain on his brother.

“Put me back in that memory orb if you can! I am going to try to find out what that thing was that Blitz saw.” Azure stated, before getting hugged by Lumia, before having the orb touch Azure’s head, sending back into the realm of sleep and into the illusion that they both didn't see, due to them not really finding it all too healthy to be going into memory orbs all the time, otherwise they would have both drowned out the outside world with some good memories.

Azure opened his eyes as the events replayed the events of what happened just before Blitz met both him and Roselight within the sewer. Azure kept his eye on the wall, waiting for something to flash or something. Nothing! Was Blitz spotting something that Azure wasn't, or was Azure blind or something along those lines, because he was not spotting what Blitz had seen, which was what Azure wanted to see the most, making it more than likely that he would have to get it fixed to be able to see what Blitz wanted him to see.

As Azure let the rest of the memory play out, he spotted another memory orb on the ground and went to walk towards it, before picking it up and keeping it within his hooves, which was something that he had not seen in that place before, which was pretty scary to say the least. Back in the real world and real time, Lumia noticed that the orb had turned to dust, meaning that there was no chance of him going back into the orb for another time. It was a trick that Lumia knew, which meant that Azure had picked up another memory orb within the memory orb itself, destroying the original orb to restrict how many times after the orb pickup would be able to be used. Sadly in this case, there were no chances to go back into the original vision that Azure was currently within.

Azure let the events play out and came back to the real world, clutching another memory orb, this one not being corrupted at all, making Azure feel like he had been good to collect it. Maybe it was all part of Blitz’s plan, to avoid a random pony from getting the orb or to protect it within an already corrupt memory orb, making its survival time just that little bit longer due to how little the orb would have been used. Azure chuckled before opening his eyes, noticing that he could still feel the memory orb within his grasp, smiling after the chuckle.

“I am playing your game Blitz!” Azure stated, almost being a little bit psychotic sounding, making Lumia get a little bit confused with the emotions that he was feeling. She didn't know if he was laughing or if he was crying, which made the entire situation that little bit more awkwarder, but she was not going to back down due to awkwardness lingering around. Instead, Lumia took the memory orb and looked at it, seeing that it was glowing with a bright mix of crimson and whiteness, making Lumia smile too, due to the orb being so beautiful.

“Right, looks like i’m going back into another memory orb then, since the weather still ain’t clearing at all.” Azure stated, before Lumia gave a swift nod in his direction, signalling that he was indeed ready for the adventure that it was going to take him on. Azure closed his eyes before letting all of his nerves slip away from his body and onto the ground, not having a single doubt on where he was going to be taken. If he was correct, he would become trapped within Blitz’s body, which was what he wanted in the first place, instead of having the orb be corrupted enough that he had an ability to move about within a memory, messing with how memories worked.

Lumia placed the orb against Azure’s head before letting him drift away from the world and into the captured memory, allowing him to see exactly what Blitz wanted him to see, which was the original plan, or was it? Azure felt like he was falling, which made him look down to see no floor below him, but somehow he was able to stand, which was something that confused him a lot. He tried to walk around, but where to? There was nowhere to go, so his only option was to wait for the memory orb to suck him into the eyes and feelings of Blitz.

Azure’s head hurt a little, followed by noises of sounds getting louder and louder, before there was an explosion, followed by another one and another one, making his ears within the memory sting, but Azure wasn't hearing this, Blitz was. Blitz opened his eyes to find that the artillery fire had died down, looking back at the factory that was going to be explored by both him and Azure later down the line, making Azure smile within the vision of Blitz, being just another spectator in this situation. Azure tried to move, but it was a memory, so he had no actions that he could take, only to view what was happening, which was something that Azure hated, a lot!

Blitz travelled down a little slope that led into the underground of the sewer entrance, making him a little hesitant to go in, due to knowing that there was probably a mass amount of ghouls present within the area. Blitz knew that he would have had no other choice, due to the Steel Rangers most likely surviving the artillery barrage, making him more of a threat than before, due to him having not only the plans for the barn, but the PipBuck will all of the information on it, making Blitz remind himself of what was on it, which was the location or updated locations of all of the artifacts that Roselight needed, but he didn't know that yet. All he knew was that there was a file on it that was really important to both the Steel Rangers and Roselight, making Blitz wonder what was hiding on the device he had just obtained.

Azure watched as the darkness overcame Blitz and made him turn on horn, using it to illuminate things in front of him and allowing him to walk without the fear of falling into the water that was present within the middle of the sewer system. Blitz continued to walk along the side of the sewer, before the events of the last memory orb played out, only this time from the perspective of Blitz. Azure kind of ignored what happened, until Blitz caught sight of something, which Azure did too, which was something glistening from a hole that was within the wall. Azure probably didn't see it, due to the angle that he was at when he was watching the events. Azure listened to something coming from Blitz that shocked him a little, until he was actually afraid of what Blitz knew.

“Azure… come back for this, it’s important! Don’t question this, but Death is evil and needs to be stopped…” Blitz muttered to himself, before turning around and looking into the water, something that didn't happen in the other memory orb. He looked down and saw Azure’s form within the water and smiled. “I know you are confused, but I have faith in you. Don't forget that!” Blitz muttered to himself again, before continuing with the memory, making Azure begin to think about what Blitz was really up to and wanted to know what Blitz actually was.
