Fallout Equestria: Half Breeds
Chapter 30: Training Trousle
Previous ChapterBlitz needed to learn when to relax, which was one of his biggest issues, due to him always wanting to be in the heat of the action. Blitz slowly got up, before feeling like he wanted to take on the world all at once, due to the state of which his body was in after waking up. He was motivated, but there was really nothing that he could have done without the others, due to him remembering that without Death’s magic, he was whittled down to no be a one pony army, which was something that he liked about Death, but no, he wasn’t going to miss him anytime soon.
Blitz looked up, noticing that it was night time, making him feel slightly bad about where he was and that he didn’t spend the day with the ponies that he enjoyed spending his time with, the ponies that he called family. He looked around and saw that nopony was around him, making him a little bit surprised that nopony wanted to stay around or close to Blitz for when he woke up, but he did definitely know why, which was the temperature of the night. It was cold, too cold for him to do anything more but seek out shelter. The wind passed by him, making his teeth chatter, his fangs chattering against his lower teeth, which didn't make too much of a pleasant noise. Blitz rushed over to get off the wall, before falling off it entirely, gliding down to the ground and scrambling to get to somewhere that was warmer than where he currently was. It surprised him that nopony wanted to pick up his body and take him into a place where he could become warm and safe. He was a little annoyed about that, but he had nopony else to blame but himself, due to where he decided to sleep. Blitz first of all hid under the wall, in a little gap next to the wall, which would have made the perfect sleeping hole, if only he had something else to put over him, due to all of the cold air getting within the hole.
Blitz noticed a noise of something knocking against the opposite side of the wall, before making him scramble to try to see what it was. It was most likely a ghoul or something trying to break the wall, but as Blitz flew up, he noticed that there was mainly a lot of ghouls heading towards their settlement, most of them being feral and not wanting to think about their actions, which was the bad type of ghouls. Blitz flew down and walked over to one of them, breaking its neck with incredible force, a force that he had never had before. He used his magic to drag the ghoul away from the wall, before noticing that there was a couple of weapons on the ghoul that would make zero noise, making him smile as he ripped the items straight off the ghoul, before dropping the body to the floor and watching as it splashed into a puddle, muffling everything with a little bit of a splash noise, making Blitz smile from ear to ear. His goal was to protect, so that was going to be what he was going to do, as his cold, green blood began to warm within his body, which was not natural for any normal changeling, but since when was Blitz ever a normal changeling? He was a half breed!
There was some sort of stone lance that Blitz picked up from the ghoul, making feel more or less like the guard that he wanted to be eventually, which made his blood boil with heat and anger. The anger was for the ghouls coming to disturb their sleep, as well as trying to hurt them all, which was something that Blitz didn’t want to happen, so he was going to fight them off, one by one, until it was only him standing. Blitz kept hitting ghouls with the lance and knocking them over, waiting to see if they were going to get up, which most of them didn't, which was good for Blitz. The ghouls at the back were shooting towards him, one of them actually catching Blitz on the cheek and on the leg, making his leg go limp and grazing his cheek, but if they thought that a bullet hole would have stopped Blitz, they had another thing coming. The adrenaline kicked in, making Blitz forget about the bullet wound entirely, focusing more on protecting the ponies that he called friends and family.
Blitz saw that one of the ghouls with a weapon was walking closer and closer to Blitz, keeping behind some of the ghouls, before seeing Blitz lash out towards him, scaring him a little as Blitz actually got to him from being behind the ghouls. The ghouls tried to reach out to him, before Blitz kicked them away, using his hindlegs to push against one, before bringing out his fangs. He bit down into the flesh of the other ghoul, biting hard and drawing all of the blood out of the already dead body. Blitz tore a chunk out of the ghoul, being only a small one, before all of the other ghouls turned around and didn’t focus on Blitz at all. Instead, they decided to focus on the easy meal that was in front of them. What the ghoul didn’t realise was that Blitz used his magic to turn the ghoul into more of a lifelike creature, turning him into a pony for everypony else, making the ghouls not know who to eat first, but they decided on their buddy first. They launched themselves at him, making him scream as they began to eat him from the outside in. Blitz decided that it was a good time to go after one of the other ghouls, while the feral ones were distracted. Blitz used his magic on his new stone lance and threw it at maximum velocity at a ghoul, pinning him to the wall and making him drop his weapon.
Blitz turned to another ghoul, before taking a knife from out of the ghouls side pocket, before slicing him with it, straight across the neck, killing him in an instant. Blitz was doing all he could to protect the settlement, but noticed something poking him on the shoulder. Shadow held up the necklace that Blitz had taken off, the one that would have turned her into Anti, which was what she was implying, wanting to help Blitz as much as she could. Blitz nodded, before swapping the necklaces quickly, using his magic to swap them and teleport the one that shadow was holding after to his saddlebag, where it would have been safe. Shadow went to work, being in her cursed timberwolf form, before lashing out at some of the ghouls that were eating the bodies, taking them and crushing their bones in her maw, mainly trying to crush their skulls, to be able to kill them easier. Blitz focused in on one of the remaining ghouls with the weapons, before teleporting to him and holding the rifle to the ghoul’s head, before pulling the trigger with his magic, blasting the ghoul’s head off and making it turn into pieces. It was not at all satisfying, but it was something that Blitz had to do. If they never attacked in a massive horde, he would have reasoned with them, but not like this, never like this.
Shadow was busy helping Blitz clear the horde that was eating the body, while Blitz was dealing with some of the more dangerous ones, the ones holding the weapons, which made him realise that there were only a couple left. He walked closer to one of them, keeping his shield up, before seeing that they began to shoot at Shadow, pissing Blitz off even more, before he lashed out and stabbed the ghoul in the stomach, before looking at him directly in the eyes, before his head got blown off completely, making Blitz recoil a lot, not knowing why the head of the ghoul exploded. He looked over to the wall of the settlement, before seeing a couple of ponies standing on there, aiming their weapons at the rest of the ghouls, before firing, focusing on the couple of ghouls that were left with weapons. Blitz dropped his shield and instantly got shot by one of the ghouls, making him wince out in pain, before dropping to the floor, knowing that he was going to survive the shot, but still hating the amount of pain that came out of it.
Shadow immediately noticed this and forcefully ripped one of the feral ghoul’s head off, before rushing over and teleporting onto the ghoul that had shot her son, making her rip the gun from his grasp, before chomping down on his forelegs and then his hindlegs, breaking them with the force of her jaw. He screamed out silently, before she looked at him, before backing up and going to check on Blitz, making sure that he was not too badly injured. Roselight, Petalbreeze, Saber, Zeke and Zavier jumped off the wall, being the ones who came to Blitz’s aid, before moving in a group towards Blitz, before they surrounded him, aiming to anything that would have been a threat. There were a couple of feral ghouls left, taking only a couple of shots to finish them off, before they decided to drag Blitz back into the settlement, before getting carried by Roselight and PetalBreeze over the wall. Shadow jumped onto the wall, having amazing powers as a timberwolf, including incredible jumping abilities.
Shadow came closer to Blitz, before placing herself over the top of him, being a bit more protective than she needed to be. Blitz slowly looked up at her and chuckled, before using his magic to move her off slightly, enough for him to be able to sit up. Life was healing him for a little bit, making the pain more bearable for him, before cutting it off, making him wince.
“You not sugar coating me Life?” Blitz stated, getting a simple nod from Life, making Blitz sigh, as he tried to get up, but the wound stopped him from doing so. Shadow nuzzled into the side of him, before rolling onto her side, allowing Blitz to wrap a hoof around her, cuddling her on the floor, while he tried to build the confidence to get up, or enough strength to push off the floor at least. Blitz noticed that he was not getting any better by just lying there, so he decided to do something about it. He used his magic to heal the wound, but he needed to get the bullet out of him, which was the hard part. In a desperate attempt to get it out, Blitz screamed, as his magic worked to get the bullet out. After a second, he got it out, before he healed himself up, closing the gushing wound in an instant and relaxing on the floor, exhausted and tired.
Shadow didn’t leave him alone, making sure that she was the closest thing to him and making him know it as well, nuzzling into him to keep him warm during the cold night. Roselight gave him a blanket and then dragged him into her home, using her magic. Blitz was able to get up, but Shadow had other ideas, making Roselight drag him into a room, before Blitz pushed against Shadow, wanting to get up and stretch his legs. Shadow refused to cooperate with him, instead turning to Roselight and looking at her, making her know that Shadow wanted to talk to her about something. Blitz teleported the other amulet to himself, before Shadow stopped him from changing forms, her wanting to stay as the timberwolf for the night, before Blitz teleported it back into his saddlebag, ready to take it out again, at a later date.
Shadow nuzzled into Blitz, wanting nothing but to relax with him after all that had happened outside, but there was something within Blitz that made him not want affection at all, only a little bit of a rest, due to him refusing to sleep for a little while, before accidentally sleeping out in the open, not really wanting to do so because of the fact that his body would have gotten too cold, like he showed originally outside, before fighting most of the ghouls on his own, before Shadow thought to help out and the others noticed.
“Blitz, it might be worth you getting some sleep, especially now due to the fact that you protected the entire settlement, but also due to the fact that you feel asleep out in the cold, which was not the best choice that you have ever made. So, to counter this and regardless of what you think Blitz, you are staying here for the rest of the night and getting cuddles from Shadow, but not only her, but from me and my sister as well.” Roselight stated, before looking to the side and seeing that the door opened, bringing Petalbreeze into the picture. Blitz liked both of the sisters, but he just didn’t need the affection, but something was holding him still, making it so that he was not frozen out of fear, but frozen out of love and affection, which was something that he was receiving, something that he couldn’t ever stay around to think about having. Blitz got to the ground again, getting Shadow to cuddle him, wrapping herself in Blitz’s warmth, while Petalbreeze and Roselight cuddled Blitz, making it so that he would get warmer and stay warm.
Blitz was in bliss, being hugged by three ponies that he liked, one of them being a changeling within a timberwolf’s form, which made him chuckle, making Shadow look at him, before she got up and turned to face Blitz, before snuggling into him again, this time looking at him while she relaxed. A knock came from the door, startling all of them and making Shadow chuckle to herself, before barking at the door, making them all laugh. Roselight got up and walked to the door, her sister pretty much spooning Blitz at this point, making it so that he was warm and snug against her. Blitz looked back at her, before resting his head next to hers, seeing a look that nopony else had given him for a long while, making him blush a little, making her chuckle softly.
Roselight opened the door to Shifty, who came running in as soon as he saw Blitz, before sliding into a cuddle with him, nuzzling his dad as much as he could. Blitz felt the love around him, heating him up so much and making it so that he wasn’t cold, but that didn’t stop the others from hugging him and keeping him physically warm, rather than mentally warm, which made Blitz think about it for a minute. Was the cold really warmed up by mental love, mental warmth and affection? Blitz didn’t know and to be honest with himself, he didn’t really care about it a whole lot, due to him getting the physical warmth that he didn’t want, but needed!
They all cuddled Blitz, before making the night feel so much better, making him want to sleep. Blitz closed his eyes, but didn’t fall asleep, but instead, he decided to wait for all of the others to go to sleep, waiting patiently for them all to do so, before even trying to do so, due to him only just waking up from some sleep a little while ago. Once the rest of his little cuddle group fell asleep, he hugged Shifty tighter, before trying to drift off too, wanting to dream about something nice and relaxing, as his eyes slowly fluttered and cut all vision of the surround world out, making him drift off or teleport to the land of sleep.
He blinked and was somewhere that he didn’t know, which made him start to run. There was some music blasting through the area, being music that he didn’t know, being something from what he would expect to hear within some sort of video game or something. Blitz turned around and saw words flying towards him, making him want to dodge them, since his magic wasn’t working. How did he know this? He tried to turn off the music with his magic! Blitz had to constantly dodge flying objects within this weird dream of his. Blitz had an idea as to what it was about and why he was having to dodge things, but why did they have to be words? Why could it have not been bullets or something cool like that?
“Because words won’t hurt you if you are strong enough, but bullets are always going to hurt, especially if you bite into one being shot out of a gun.” Life stated, sitting in an area that Blitz could not access. He was able to fly around, but only within a certain space, almost like he had been placed within a box of some sort. “I am training you to dodge and do all different types of things while you are here. You nearly bit a bullet earlier, so we are going to be changing that Blitz!” Life state, seeing some words fly at Blitz while he just swayed to the music, almost like being some sort of animation and not a real pony. “First lesson: Dodge!” Life shouted out, sending some words in Blitz’s direction, before seeing Blitz turn to the words. Blitz smiled, before flying over them. Life sent a couple more, this time being in the air, but Blitz moved out of the way of them, opting to land back on the floor to do so. Life sent some more, sending some that were from the bottom and at the top, making Blitz have to hover in the middle, before he started to mess with the length of the words, making Blitz have to move slowly up and down to avoid them, making it a little more difficult.
Life changed it up a bit, forcing his wings to cut off, sending him to the ground, because he was not ready for anything to change like that, which was a little understandable for him. Blitz got hit with a word, making the entire thing stop, before making him look at Life, seeing that he was somewhat impressed with Blitz.
“Alright, you need to get ready for every single situation, so I am here to train you till you pass each one. Every test or training exercise will make it so that you are able to evade attacks, because i want you to survive all of this, so that you may help me with achieving a couple of goals later down the line.” Life explained, sending him back into the action. Blitz understood that there was going to be no breaks with Life, making him even more determined to keep trying and better his reflexes and dodging capability. Blitz closed his eyes and sighed, before opening his eyes with the pure fire racing within his blood, heating him up and making his blood boil, setting his mind straight to focusing on the event that he was within, within his dream.
Blitz was able to fly again, but Life swapped the order of the attacks, trying to make sure that Blitz was not able to beat it due to memory. It was a test on reaction times and speed, so it was pretty much a given that he was going to be doing something differently. Blitz moved out of the way of the words, which made him a little bit more confident in his solo ability. Life was definitely one to be a genuine change of good luck, due to him not only wanting to better himself, but to better others around him. What more could one need? Blitz kept flying around, dodging the words that he was sent with ease, before Life dropped Blitz to his hooves, making him land on them, before knowing what he needed to do this time. Blitz had to keep jumping over obstacles that were in his way. A piece of wood came towards him with great speed, making Blitz jump over the wood and land perfectly back on his hooves, stopping for just a moment, before a couple more pieces of wood came to him, acting more like hurdles more than anything else. Blitz kept jumping, which was something which counted as dodging, making Life chuckle, before changing the attacks.
“Don’t stop moving Blitz!” Life shouted, out, before turning invisible and fading into the darkness. Blitz understood what he said, before constantly shuffling from side to side, almost like he was vibrating a little bit. Blitz saw some books fly towards him, making him shuffle to the side, before a load more books were forcefully thrown in his direction, making him do everything in his power to avoid said attacks that Life was sending him. Blitz kept moving and running about, jumping over some obstacles, before realising that he could fly again. He took to the blackness that was above, before looking around, seeing a couple more books flying towards him. He ducked under the books, before doing a spiral of some kind and dodging them all. Blitz flew down and landed on all fours, making dust go everywhere from the dust explosion that he had just made.Life smiled, before placing some bright white lights on the floor, not saying anything. Blitz was in the zone and was ready. He looked behind him at one word flying across the line, not being able to void it by going up, so he tried to move to the other line, not being able to do so, so he teleported over there, working perfectly and not putting any strain on his magic, which was the most enjoyable experience for him, being able to use magic with no drain to be able to do something was definitely on his favourite things to do list.
Blitz looked at the words as they floated from line to line, before getting a subtle graze from one, knocking him over and making him get hit by another, which made Life stop the simulation and walk over to Blitz. He was surprised that he was doing so good, but there was something that was making him slow down, something that Life needed to get out of Blitz’s system and fast. Life looked into Blitz’s eyes, before seeing that he was fearing death, not the one that he had just killed, but death in general, which made Life seem a little bit confused. Life wasn’t going to let Blitz die, due to Life needing him too much.
“You know you really shouldn’t fear death, right? I think that you should know that if anything bad did happen to you, I would revive you as quickly as i could, before letting you deal with the issues after.” Life stated, making Blitz get back up and shake his head, before smiling back at Life, seeing that Life was somewhat concerned for the lone bug, but Blitz’s mind was pretty much clear, making him able to focus more and more on what he needed to do to keep himself alive.
Life smiled back at him, before going out of the box that he put Blitz in and starting the simulation again, this time with bullets flying towards him in the same place as books and sharp swords being in the place of the words, which Blitz didn’t immediately notice, due to his mind trying to avoid them. Blitz kept flying about, keeping himself off the floor and keeping it so that he was yet again, not too close to the roof of the box, due to the swords, being up there too.
“You got this, Blitz?” Life asked from outside the room, getting no response from Blitz, due to him being too much into what he was doing to be able to answer the call. Life changed it so that Blitz was on the lines again, seeing both swords and bullets go to him, forcing him to teleport to another line. Blitz did so, before turning and making sure that he was able to see both directions, due to being hit in the back last time, before anymore came, Blitz was teleported to the middle of the square, unable to move. He saw some flashes and casted a shield completely around himself, resulting in only a shield that was in one direction, making Blitz have to keep an eye out for where the flashes came from. Blitz saw many flashes from many directions, before time seemed to slow down, making the bullets fly a little slower, allowing Blitz to focus on the different directions. Blitz deflected so many bullets, that smoke began to gather from not only the shield, but the horn that Blitz had. Life was a little bit confused, but knew that the adrenaline had probably got to him right there and then.
The smoke cleared, leaving Blitz panting, still holding up the shield, before Blitz got teleported into a different scenario, allowing him to move, but seeing that there were now guns shooting at him from outside the box, making him not able to destroy them boy hoof, but there was an option that Blitz thought about. He could either avoid them or he could… Blitz blasted one of the guns, seeing that it blew up, but seeing that it took a huge chunk of his magical power away, but it regenerated quick enough that he was able to make it grow stronger and stronger by taking out more of the guns that were shooting at him, using some of the other tactics that Life had showed him, which was moving around and dodging all of the stray bullets that would shoot at his last location. Blitz managed to take them out, which was great for him, before he got teleported to another area.
Blitz was pinned to the floor by a bunch of ponies, which he didn’t think was part of the simulation, but he was still in the dream, or training dream, which made him realise that this was one of the training exercises that Life had for him, putting him in a situation that he would have thought that he was useless in. Blitz noticed that in the scenario he was pinned to the floor by a unicorn, there was a hostage tied up in front of him, being held captive by a pegasus with a battle saddle on with two shotguns either side of him and another pegasus watching over both of them. Blitz looked up to the unicorn that was pinning him down, before seeing that they had a knife within their magical grasp as well, making him one of the main targets for Blitz to take out, but Blitz knew that there was an order to those types of things, making him think a little bit, before using his magic to start the event, using the dagger that the unicorn had to kill the pegasus with the battle saddle, before watching the damage take place.
Blitz bucked the unicorn from underneath, only being pinned down by his forehooves and not his hindlegs, which was beneficial for him, not the unicorn that was holding him down. Blitz noticed that the unicorn had a pistol which was unloaded on his side, which was perfect for him, taking it off with his magic, all while the unicorn was still in the air, and throwing the empty weapon at the pegasus in the air, before seeing him falling to the ground after being hit with the metal object, most likely knocking him out cold, making Blitz focus all of his attention on the unicorn that had just recovered from the buck. Blitz got up and saw that the unicorn had used his magic to summon in some more weapons, before Blitz teleported a little bit back, making the first shot that the unicorn fired not hit him, dodging it with a little bit of ease. He kept his eyes locked on the unicorn, but kept his ears out for other things that could have indicated that something was going to be coming at him from another angle. Blitz placed up a shield, directing it towards the attacker, who kept shooting at Blitz from the front, before Blitz slowly started to move towards the pegasus’ battle saddle. Blitz used his hooves to move one of the weapons out of the battle saddle, not losing sight of the unicorn for one millisecond, to avoid him from doing anything wrong.
Blitz managed to get one of the shotguns out of the holster, before aiming it through his shield, before waiting for the perfect moment. The unicorn had to reload, putting up a shield in front of themself, allowing them to not get shot, just like Blitz was doing. Blitz used this, teleporting somewhere else, making the unicorn a little more paranoid as to where Blitz had gone, due to him having a shield only able to point in one direction. Blitz teleported behind the unicorn, before getting shot at, seeing time slow down, making the bullets visible and able to be dodged. Blitz still had to be careful, but he was able to move at full speed while time was slowed down, which made him feel somewhat powerful, but he was pretty sure that it was just Life helping him out just that little bit more, due to him needing Blitz to believe in his ability and not to let the power of what Death had given him affect his general survival skills. Blitz shot a shell out of the shotgun, making the shield of the unicorn drop, allowing him to pump it, before shooting another shot, but there were no more bullets, making Blitz throw the weapon at the unicorn and making them flinch from the impact of the weapon hitting them, before they fired back while Blitz didn’t have his shield up. Blitz moved about, making it so that he was more or less a harder target to his, that being his main goal. He wanted to be shot as little as possible, but also didn’t to be shot at all, due to him probably failing what Life was after, making him probably reset the simulation that he was in. He didn’t want to fail a pony, not again.
Blitz dodged one shot, Blitz dodged a second shot and a third, before teleporting behind the unicorn again, making it a sudden action to make the battle end as soon as possible, just to avoid injury. Blitz grabbed the unicorn with his magic, before flinging him across the area, keeping it so that he was not able to use his magic until he had got over to the opposite side of the area, making him get hurt in the process. The unicorn winced as he hit the wall at a high speed. Blitz flew over and looked at the unicorn, before seeing the unicorn getting a little bit angrier, preparing Blitz for what was going to happen. Blitz’s reactions were on point, making him not worry about half of the things that were going on around him, as he focused all of his senses into killing the unicorn, the unicorn doing the same for Blitz.
The unicorn unleashed a bolt of lightning hot energy towards Blitz, making him start moving, making the little bug more of a threat and a harder target to hit, which angered the unicorn that little bit more, due to him just wanting it to be over and done with, which was exactly what Blitz wanted as well, due to him wanting to get Equestria back to how it was, but the only thing that was stopping him from doing so right now, was the unicorn, which Blitz used as motivation for wanting to kill him quickly, wanting to get back to his original life.
Blitz teleported over to the body of the fallen pegasus, seeing that there was another shotgun on his over side, allowing Blitz another chance at blowing the head off somepony else’s body, making him smile a little bit, before teleporting away with the shotgun within his magical grasp. Blitz noticed that there was something that he had to do to be able to get a shot off into the unicorn, but he had an idea. Blitz teleported into the open, before waiting for the unicorn to charge up his magic and let it all out onto him. Blitz waited for that to happen, before placing his shield in front, blocking the magic and allowing Blitz to check the shotgun for the amount of ammo that it had. Just like the other one, it had a single shot within it for some reason. Blitz waited for all of the magic on the unicorn to be gone, before teleporting behind him and seeing that he had a shield activated, knowing that he would have done the same trick over and over again. Instead of shooting, Blitz used his horn to make the noise of the shotgun firing, which made the unicorn think that he had shot a shot, but he didn’t. He saw the unicorn rear up, dropping his shield. Blitz fired, blowing out the middle of the pony and making him drop into two pieces of similar sizes.
Blitz looked over the body, before closing his eyes and sighing, allowing Life to hear him, making an impact within the demon that seemed to be possessing him or being with him in other words. Blitz was teleported away and noticed some sniper rifles looking at him, not being able to identify the users at all, making him understand what he had to do. Blitz kept moving around, making himself a harder shot to hit. The distance of the snipers was pretty far, making Blitz feel comfortable moving around at a slower speed, making the snipers constantly have to change their aim. Blitz kept moving around, going from side to side and watching each sniper carefully, making sure that they were never able to track where he was going to go.
Blitz saw some raiders coming at him with a knife each, making him stop focusing on the snipers, but keeping himself moving to avoid getting shot. Blitz moved around one of the raiders, before noticing that the shotgun that he had taken from last time was still with him, making him use it as a weapon and swing it around like a club. He rushed over to one of the raiders, before hitting him with the weapon, making him go down in one fatal swing, allowing him to grab the knife and go around stabbing ponies. He decided to throw the knife at one of the raider’s, hitting one of them in the eye as they screamed out in pain and dropped to the ground. Blitz picked up the weapon he used as a club, before noticing that there was a shotgun slug within the weapon, giving him a gory idea. Blitz walked over to another raider, before breaking the weapon on the raider’s legs, making the raider limp, before Blitz aimed it at the face of the raider, not being reluctant at all to pull the trigger, which is the first thing he did, before not only did the weapon fire, but it exploded, sending Blitz a little bit backwards and knocking him over, allowing one of the snipers to take a shot at Blitz, making him place a shield up, deflecting the bullet and allowing him to continue on with his training.
Blitz had another knife, but didn’t have the weapon anymore, due to him blowing both it and the raider’s face off, making him chuckle a little bit at the thought of it, but then looked over at the raider, seeing that his head was everywhere. Blitz teleported behind some cover that he had around, making it so that the snipers were going to have a hard time trying to hit him. Blitz closed his eyes for a second, before opening them and running about, trying to make himself a harder target again, for the snipers that were trying to lock on. Blitz didn’t know how he was going to deal with them or even if he needed to do so, but there was definitely something up with the entire scenario, due to there being little to nopony there to fight him, apart from the snipers. Blitz got teleported behind the snipers, seeing them still locked on his previous position and waiting for him to appear. Blitz saw a knife on the table beside him, making him reach out for the metallic object, making him tremble a little bit as the thoughts hit him again, just like they had with Death, making Life pause the memory for a second, before flying down into the box and hugging Blitz, knowing that what he was going through might have been rough, but the rough parts were the most rememberable parts, good or bad.
Blitz closed his eyes, before picking up the knife and being teleported to the small room again, having words come across the room to from the floor, allowing him to jump and move, but not to fly. Blitz jumped over them, feeling all of the thoughts slowly easing away and being replaced with happy memories, happy memories that were not his, but were Life’s memories, filtering them into Blitz’s head to make Blitz feel like he was not alone in any of the doom and gloom. Life was most likely being the one with the problems too, due to losing all of his family to the evil spirits that they were, which didn’t make him the happiest to say the least, but he stayed positive, just so that he was able to think straight and make the correct choices most of the time. Blitz needed to be in that mindset, so he pushed himself harder, wanting to feel more determined than he had ever done before. The simulation stopped and everything turned black, before Blitz woke up to a clap of thunder, startling him a little bit more than he had ever been startled. Blitz was in the same position as when he went to sleep, making him feel like he needed to get up and stretch, before he heard something in his ear.
“I believe in you!” Life stated, quietly whispering it in his ear so that only Blitz was able to pick it up, before he noticed that something about him changed, but he couldn’t find out what it was that changed exactly. Blitz tried to use his magic and noticed that something was up with it, making it consume a lot less magic than normal, which was good, but also bad, due to Blitz not knowing how to trigger it for the future. Blitz noticed that it was something that counted as him being happy, maybe making his magic easier to use. He was just going to run with that, since there was not really anything else apart from training that Blitz knew about having an effect. Maybe it was his mood, but if that was the case, wouldn’t it have been a lot more potent? Blitz had no idea, before he tried to get out of bed without alerting anypony that he was up.
Blitz used his magic to raise himself and Shifty up, before placing him back down and looking around, before doing what he originally wanted to do, which was to stretch, because he felt like his body needed it ever since he woke up. The crack of his bones was enough to wake all of them up, but surprisingly it didn’t make Blitz look at them more aas being some kind of heavy sleepers or something, which was not a bad example at all.
Blitz moved about a little bit, before wanting to go out and do a little bit of running, wanting to train up his body just that little bit more, due to what happened within his head. Life respected the enthusiasm and didn’t disagree with Blitz’s call at all, due to it probably being the best thing that he could have done at a time like it was. It was still night after all, so a little bit of a run wouldn’t have hurt anypony at all. Blitz used his magic to grab a weapon from his saddlebag, before walking over to the door and opening it quietly, stepping out into the drizzle and making it so that he was going to stay that way. Blitz sighed, but wasn’t going to go back on what he said about wanting to do exercise, but there was elements that were holding him back and one of them was the weather, due to it needing to be hot for him to be able to do it more efficiently, due to him being a bug and not really anything else. Blitz sighed, before stepping his hooves into the outside world again. He used his magic to pull up the hood of the clothing that he had on, keeping him warmer than he originally was, which was good because otherwise the weather would have hurt him more than he thought.
Blitz soared over the gate of the settlement, before sliding on the opposite side of the gate, looking back into the settlement and noticing that nopony had been awoken, which was exactly what Blitz needed to do to clear his head, getting him ready for the final battle that was going to take place in the future, the not too far future, due to them needing to get them out of the way so that they could work on making Equestria what it used to be, which meant that any uncivilised ponies would have to go, only keeping the ones that seemed to want to change the future by working with others, which was what Blitz wanted to do eventually, working with others in a lab or something to help ponies discover things and help them with just clearing the Wasteland in general, which filled him with a huge amount of determination, giving him the confidence to do things that he never even thought that he would have wanted to do.
Blitz splashed into a puddle, making a loud splash sound, before noticing that something seemed to make his mind so much better, making him run around and be a little more playful, not only getting his exercise done, but also having un in the process, as Blitz literally danced in the rain, making him chuckle out loud. Shadow joined him with dancing, her being in her timberwolf form and making Blitz smile more and more, being the company that he needed, due to him not really having fun since before the bombs fell. This was his one chance to have fun with somepony and that somepony was his mother, which made him smile even more than he already was. He kept running!
Blitz watched as Shadow chased him, seeing if she could catch him in her timberwolf form, which proved to be a little more difficult than she originally thought, due to Blitz being somewhat elusive, making him a slippery bug to catch, especially due to the rain, making him as slippery as black ice, due to only one aspect, his chitin. Blitz used his moves as he was hunted down by his mother, being almost like a moth that nopony could catch within the light of the moonlight, slowly drifting away to the side and then back around to catch a glimpse of the best and brightest light around. Did Blitz really just compare himself to a moth? Yes, yes he did.
Shadow lunged for Blitz, before he teleported a tiny bit forwards, dodging Shadow by a couple of hairs, before noticing that she wanted to continue with the hunting. She launched herself at Blitz, making him put up a shield for one of her bites, before he pushed her away with the shield, making the wooden canine want to get him even more, which Blitz was not going to let happen. Blitz watched as Shadow charged at him, making him run towards her, jumping over the timberwolf and watching as she picked up speed. Blitz spawned a metal bar in front of him, before wielding it within his magic, acting almost like a staff of some kind, which was Blitz’s favourite type of weapon. Anti launched herself at him, making Blitz block it with the metal rod, before seeing her try to bite Blitz from being in front of the pole, which wasn’t working as much as she hoped. Blitz used his magic to tap her on the side of the head with the metal rod, before dazing her just enough for him to trip her up and place her on her back, before pinning the pole over her neck, not making it so that she was suffocating, but enough to know what his intentions would have been if she was not anypony special to him. Blitz gazed down at the timberwolf, before kissing it on the nose, receiving a swift lick to the chin, making him chuckle and bring the pole to his side, Shadow scrambled to her paws and sat down, relaxing within the rain.
They had their little fight, but it was time for them both to relax a little bit more, so they both started moving about again. Blitz teleported the pole into his saddlebag, compressing it with his magic and watching as the saddlebag worked its magic, making the item disappear within it, being complete magic to the rest of the world that did not have a saddlebag to their name. Blitz and Shadow kept walking around, not walking around the settlement, but moving away from it, knowing not to go too far from it, to avoid both them getting hurt from distancing themselves from it, but also keeping it protected, which was exactly what Blitz wanted to do for all of the ponies that lived within the settlement, wanting to be the guard that he never could have been before.
Blitz used his magic to swap the amulets that he was wearing, making Shadow turn back into her normal self, being the loveable changeling mare that she was, to Blitz at least. She paused, before going in to hug Blitz a little bit, making it known to him that she was proud of him, which made him blush a little bit, before he forced her to stop hugging him, due to him blushing too much from the interaction. Blitz loved his mother, that was all that needed to be said at that point of time, due to there being nothing that was really going on at that point, making him relax more than ever, despite still running with her alongside him, keeping him company while he did a little bit of exercise, calling it ‘bettering himself’ exercise.
Blitz was also planning out what he was going to do as his next part of his plan, due to him really needing to make some ground on the arms race to get to the trinity that included the three different factions that had merged into one, those being the raiders, scavengers and slavers. From what Blitz knew, they didn’t get along too well, maybe being able to use that to his advantage, maybe making the others fight for him so that they could carve a way to get to the leaders that should have been assassinated by now. Blitz still had to come up with a good enough plan, before executing it at the perfect time. That was the final thing that he needed to do, which was execute a plan and hope that it would work.
“You know Blitz, that might work! You place a big enough bounty or a big enough reward for the other groups to go for and they will all want a little bit more of that, so they will fight it out to get it. Smart thinking son!” Shadow stated, looking about as Blitz walked around, wanting to do something about the situation then and there, but sadly there was nothing that he was able to do, due to where the group was at and how little alliances they had made. Blitz thought about it for a couple of seconds, before slowly opening his mouth, getting an instant response from Shadow. “Having an undead army to help you? Are you okay Blitz? How do you suppose that you do that and no, you ain’t killing yourself.” Shadow replied to his thought that he was going to announce, so he closed his mouth again, looking to the side for any clarification from anything else that was around him, but unlike Shadow, the rocks and trees didn’t have a different opinion, but yet again, they didn’t even have an opinion.
Something deep within him called out for that to happen, for him to run an army of undead to help out all of the ponies and stallions who wanted to make the Wasteland better. Blitz scuffed his hoof a little bit, making him look down at a puddle that was forming below him, allowing him to see his reflection, turning back into his non disguised form, looking disgusting, due to all of the skin that was connecting his chitin and exoskeleton together, or so he had originally thought. The chitin was some sort of growth from the bone itself, pretty much just being bone armour, but knowing that it didn't feel like it at all. Blitz looked at Shadow’s perfect form, being a little bit jealous as to how his mother looked, compared to him.
Blitz heard something snap behind him, making him jump and entire one hundred and eighty degrees just to catch it in the act, but as he turned, it vanished into thin air, creeping him out a little bit, due to how sudden it was, not with any warning whatsoever, making him a little bit more paranoid, keeping him on edge for a little while, before going back to trotting away, making him stay in the mindset to consider an undead army being for him, but he would need some help in doing so with them, due to him not being able to control them normally.
“Death’s plan was to use an undead army to win the upcoming war, but he was going to be using you and take control of you to kill all of the ponies that stood in his way of making Equestria better than it is now, including yourself, your friends, family and allies, in order to carry out his task. To be completely honest Blitz, I am glad that I have met you and am glad that you share the same desires that I do.” Life chuckled, looking off into the darkness that was in front of them both, allowing Blitz to do the same, before Blitz sent an orb of light down the path, revealing some sort of group of ghouls walking towards them both. Life looked at Blitz for a brief second before staring back at the ghouls moving their way. “I hope you realise that the only reason you got attacked by the undead was because Death made everypony see you as something that you clearly are not. A threat. To ghouls, you looked like a hunter, to friends, you looked like a trained assassin and to families, you looked like a monster, but now, you only look like Blitz, yourself! That is going to be how it is going to stay and let me be quite blunt with you Blitz, you are technically counted as undead, due to you surviving the bomb and spell and not being within a vault, so the only way that you could have done that is if you were dead.” Life reinforced, making a tear run down Blitz’s face, before he placed a hoof on his heart and smiled.
“I have been dead for the longest time, due to Death keeping me alive somehow, but I have no heart rate, I have no pulse, I have no life to me whatsoever!” Blitz stated, seeing the ghouls coming towards him. Blitz completely forgot about the fact that he was dead, but that wasn’t the main issue there. The main issue was that he hurt, because he had been living a life that he shouldn’t have been living. It was the main reason why his normal form didn’t have any skin to his body, because it had all melted off and dissolved within the radiation that he had been swimming through, making him remember the time when he just gave up, because he was dead. He didn’t want to go back to that, but there was something that was lingering in his mind that was making him feel that way, which he needed to get out of his system right there and then.
Blitz wiped his eyes and used his magic to grab Life’s hoof, which surprised Life a little bit, due to him not being a physical pony but being more of a spirit than anything else. Blitz placed Life’s hoof on his own chest, before not feeling a single heartbeat coming from Blitz’s chest, being something that he couldn’t overthink. Blitz moved Life’s hoof away, before moving over to the ghouls in front of him, ready to talk to them about something, since they were heading in the direction of the settlement that Blitz swore to protect.
“Let’s do this, Life and no life!” Blitz stated, trying to lighten the mood that was bringing him down a little, but he shook his head to get rid of all of the negativity, only bringing him motivation and most importantly, determination.
