Cold Sweet

(45 minutes later)

Tapping on my wrist computer I looked up at Krystal who was going through the few clothes that she had with her and placed them into the closet that was in my quarters. Since I didn't really need clothes the closet was pretty empty giving her more space for her stuff while the few pieces of clothing were just a few casual stuff that had to be gathering dust.

Now that I think about it.

I haven't worn a single piece of clothing since I woke up.

Looking down at my wrist computer with all systems going green I push myself off the bed before walking over to my repaired visor.

Krystal placed her head on my shoulder while she looked into the blank black mirrored visor.

"I... I'm happy that I was the first you were willing to show your face to me," She then turned tilted her head to rest on my neck. "You trusted me enough and... loved me enough to show your face to me,"

I smiled at her through our reflection.

"I trust you more than my face and heart Krystal," I moved around holding her hand. "I trust you with my very life,"

She smiled before gently grabbing my visor before taking it in her hand and lifting it to my face.

The familiar blue HUD light up while I could see the reflection of my visor's blue smile on her eyes.

"Come on... Spike must be wondering where we are," I brought her close and 'kissed' her forehead with my visor-covered face.

(Training room)

Holding a training blade in his hand Spike fought against one of the training droids with weights on his wrists, ankles, and the heavy vest he wore.

After what happened back on Dinosaur Planet Spike felt off...

This Fox guy got a solid hit on Zero which broke the protogen's visor!

Spike has spent the last few months training and sparing to fight against the cyber-canine and at least get a solid hit on him.

Yet Fox got a hit in hard enough to piss off Zero.

The dragon has never really seen the captain of the Reach ever lose his temper.

Sure he would sigh every now and then but going all 'rage mode', he was kinda glad Krystal was there to stop Zero from giving in to his hate and rage.

Rage though...

Sometimes told him a certain purple pony was Raging outback on Equis.

Spike would deal with that later but-

*WACK!*

The droid hit him on the back of the head with the patted training weapon before Spike turned to the machine.

"That's it come here you!" Spike ran at the training droid before dropping his training shield and blade pulling back his fist.

"BZZZZZ! TIMEOUT! TIMEOUT! TIMEOUT!!!"

"Hey, Spike go easy on the training droid... we don't need to keep spending salvage on repairing all the droids you break down," Spike turned his head to see a certain synthetic standing with his visor uncracked.

"Zero? Um... hey," Spike let go of the droid. "Stand by mode,"

By his word, the training droid powered down before Spike walked over to Zero who stood with a smile on his visor.

"How are you? You seem better than you were yesterday after... well you know," Spike referenced what happened the day before.

"Krystal told you?" Zero asked.

"Yes sir," Spike answered while bowing his head expecting a lecture but got a chuckle.

"Don't worry about it Spike your fine hold up your head," Zero stated before Spike looked up to see his commander whose visor smiled down at him.

Spike and Zero looked at one another for a few moments before the dragon spoke.

"So how are you feeling?"

"Better actually," Zero stated.

"Oh... really? How come?" Spike asked.

"He has his reason," Krystal's voice spoke through the training hall, causing the two to turn their heads to see the vixen smiling at the two while walking in.

Spike noticed Zero's tail wagging back and forth at the sight of Krystal even which caused him to blink.

The young drake did notice that Zero's did wag slightly when he would see Krystal but it would be very subtle and quick, a kinda blink and you miss it kind of moment. Now his tail was like...

"Hey Zero~," Krystal moved to Zero before standing right next to him... closer than usual.

Spike looked at the two who looked at one another.

*Spark*

"*GASP!*" Spike smiled. "OH, MY GODDESS! FINALLY!"

The two look at Spike after his reaction.

"I thought you two would never get together," Spike shouted with a smile on his face.

"Um... what?" Zero's visor turned into a set of question marks: ?_?

"Nothing... it's just HAHA! I was really looking forward to seeing you two finally get together! For Celestia's sake, it took you long enough!" Spike shouted with a smile.

Krystal blushed and Zero's visor began to heat up red slightly.

"Hahaha, the looks!" Spike held his gut from how hard he was laughing. "I'm so proud of the two of you,"

"Spike that's enough," Zero said while Krystal blushed held her face in her hands.

"Alright alright fair enough!" Spike calmed down. "Hey, so I gotta ask you think we can make a visit to ponyville?"

This surprised the two.

"Um... why?" Zero asked.

"Well there might be a new comic issue that came out this month," Spike informed his captain.

Zero held.

"Really?"

"Yeah... I know but this is a limited edition that I've been waiting before you first showed up Boss,"

...

Krystal looked at Zero while the protogen looked back at the blue vixen.

She moved her eyes forward before looking back with a smile.

Zero held out his finger.

"Just this once,"

(On the dropship)

"I gotta ask," Krystal spoke up causing Spike to look up from his seat on the other side of the two lovers.

"Shoot," The drake spoke not opening his eyes.

"Your world has many different races correct?" Krystal asked while Spike nodded, though this caused Zero to lift his head up to turn to Krystal.

"Right,"

"Does your world have any foxes like me?" The vixen asked.

"Well... Krystal, we have Foxes in this little country called Japony but none of them are like you. I never heard of any foxes with blue fur like yours," Spike stated.

"Alright, I was just... curious," Krystal felt a hand snake around her arm before locking with her fingers while she tighten her grip at the touch of her new boyfriend. "I just thought maybe-"

Zero 'kissed' her before touching his head to hers.

"I know,"

Spike opened his eyes seeing the two newly made lovers before him but an empty feeling washed over him.

He wished that was him... with Rarity.

But he knew that Rarity didn't want to do anything with him but to use him as an errand boy.

Ironically it was Mr. Bones that help him see that his efforts for her to get the two to finally join together were fruitless.

A literal psychopath of killing a machine told him what he saw.

The logic was overbearing.

Who knows... there is other fish in the ocean.

An ocean he just found out was bigger than he thought.

The dropship landed with a slight thud as the group got up, remembering from the last time they visited pilot droid landed outside Ponyville.

Getting up the three walked out of the shuttle but were meeting with a chilling breeze and a white covering of mass.

"Snow?" Krystal smiled seeing the familiar site that she couldn't recall the last time she saw it.

"Spike..." Zero turned to him with a smile.

"I might have said half the truth why I was down here" Spike stated. "It's Hearth's Warming Eve and I've not gotten you two anything yet,"

Krystal and Zero: "Hearth's Warming Eve?"

"Yeah you know that one time of year was you come together with family and friends," Spike stated.

"OH! It's like Donum Dom!" Krystal spoke up with a smile.

"Donum Dom?" This time it was both Spike and Zero looking at the blue vixen.

"It's a system-wide holiday! Sure every world celebrates it differently but in the end, it's the same concept!" Krystal smiled. "And... I'm actually going to spend it with others this year and not alone again,"

"Boss does the Protogens have a Hearth's warming day or 'Donum Dom' similar holiday," Spike asked the protogen captain.

"No... we don't but the precursors who created our creators celebrated a holiday but the name has been lost to time but it was a joyous holiday with red winter clothes and gifts,"

The three looked at one another before spike smiled.

"Well, we are celebrating a three-style holiday!" Spike announced with his chest puffed.

"So what then?"

"Well I was going to get that comic but maybe you two should stop by sugar cube corner for some holiday-themed treats," Spike pointed out. "The reach can create decorations right?"

Zero thought for a moment.

"Well I wouldn't normally do it because we could use the materials for something else but if this calls for a celebration I will have Mr. Bone ready the printers for your directions Spike," This caused Spike to smile with a mouth full of dragon teeth.

"Awesome! Now let's get going! Also might want to avoid seeing Twilight or the others... well Pinkie might... you know what skip the sugar cube corner we can try and make the sweets ourselves,"

"So what should we do?"

"Wanna check out some of the comics with me?"

"Might as well let us see what made us come all the way down here in the first place," Krystal joked.

"I do like the physical copy of any book," Zero played along.

Man, this too WAYYYYYYYY too long to write and I'm sorry that it took me nearly a year to write and revamp this story.

And due to my new location being free from she-who-will-not-be-named and he-who-will-not-be-named.

Plus I kinda wanted to get this done before X-mas since I do have a X-mas special coming on well you know X-mas.

But it will be longer than my birthday-story rebirth chapter as a way to say I'm sorry for what's been happing.

Now then after the special, it will be the start of the 'Fire in the sky' arch which I hope you'll be looking for.

Now then... I hope I fixed spike's reaction rather than the last time you guys saw him in the chapter I had removed (NOT DELETED).
