The Dragoon Uprising

Note: I own nothing except future OC’s and a little surprise I'm saving for the end. Note for readers on Fimfiction some parts of these notes may have little relevance to you as I had up to chapter 15 complete when I started posting there.

Chapter 2:The Incident and the preparation.

1 week after chapter one.

Canterlot:

Many things went wrong for everypony in Equestria after the day one week earlier. This was especially  apparent for Princess Luna and the bearers of the elements. Luna paced back and forth in the throne room thinking about what to do. Her mane was a mess as she had been restless for days. (Darn It what do I do about all of this?) the night princess thought to herself. (I wish Celestia could help me right now. Darn it why did you have to save me from Discord!?. You should have known I wouldn't know what to do without you sister, but you still saved me instead thinking about our nation.) Luna started to think about that day a week earlier.

Celestia was confused as to why Discord was able to escape and more importantly what he was doing in Canterlot. “Discord how did you escape from your seal?”

“Oh Celestia, did you think I would be content being trapped under a layer of granite for the rest of eternity? Because if you did you're even dumber than that one pink pony that has the element of laughter.”said Discord practically laughing as he ridiculed the princess of the day.”If you really need to know I escaped by having a couple of dragoon followers of mine break the seal by whittling away at it over the course of the past year since I was sealed. The process of the seal wearing down just needed to be sped up a little was all.” Discord was flying around the room summoning random things to amuse himself that made no sense whatsoever as he explained his self.

“Why the hell are you here?” asked Luna obviously angered by his cocky attitude.

“Why that is very simple Princess, I came here to get rid of the two of you so I can start causing chaos to spread throughout the world. You see by getting rid of the two who control the celestial cycle the moon and sun will be thrown out of harmony. The best part is this is only a minor part of my plans, but don’t expect me to tell you two anything else.” As he finished boasting the Draconequess fired a beam of purple energy from his hand at Luna.

Luna had little time to react and did not know what to do.

“No Luna move!” yelled Celestia as she pushed her sister out of the way and took the blast in her stead. The sun princess fell to her side and a small light started to focus at the end of her horn. “Discord I might be weakened but I can still protect this area from your presence.” The light grew in size and then Discord and every thing he summoned disappeared from the castle. Celestia then passed out of consciousness as her sister rushed to her side.

“Celestia please Wake up!” said Luna as she nudged her sister.

3 days later:

Celestia had cast a spell at the last second that shielded Canterlot from the influence of  Discord. After word of this had spread all of Ponyville had been moved to Canterlot, as nowhere else was safe for the ponies. Twilight and her friends had been in preparation for their roles in the upcoming war. Twilight and Rarity had been assigned the roles ranger captains as unicorns were the only pony type with an effective projectile of any means. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie had been placed in the medical department, a role which Fluttershy specifically requested. Applejack was assigned technical work on the battlefield and Rainbow Dash was given command of a regiment of pegasi.

Rainbow Dash had been sitting in her temporary quarters she had been assigned  in the barracks. The normally outspoken pegasus had been unusually quiet since she was put in this position of authority. The flap of her tent was pushed aside as Soarin and Spitfire entered her quarters. Surprising to the cyan pegasus, her idols from childhood had been placed under her command.

“Commander Rainbow Dash we are here to inform you that Princess Luna has requested you and your friends to meet her for a war council.” said Soarin.

“Thank you for informing me Soarin but don't call me commander. It just feels strange being in a position of authority when I always wanted to join you guys in the wonderbolts.”

“Sorry Dash, I just don’t want like to call you by an improper title since you are my commanding officer”

“That's alright Soarin, I’m just unsure of what to think or do right now. I mean we’re on the verge of open conflict right now. Oh yeah I’m supposed to tell you two your military ranks have been selected. Spitfire you are a lieutenant and Soarin you are captain. Now I need to go to the castle for this meeting., goodbye.”

“Alright Rainbow Dash we’ll be in the barracks if you need anything.”said Spitfire. The cyan pegasus walked out of the tent and took off in the direction of the castle with many thoughts on her mind.

Note:Just as an author's note I'm just gonna go on ahead and reveal everyponies rankings. Applejack is a corporal, Pinkie is PFC, Fluttershy is Also PFC, RD is commander, Twilight and Rarity are Captain’s, Trixie will be in the story sooner or later and her personality will be better than in the show like in the many fics centered around her, and lastly I ask you to please review and I don't mind you guys pointing out mistakes.
