The Day Before The Wedding

"Does this dress make me look... I don't know, like I belong in a cave?" Fluttershy asked, her friend standing in front of her and quickly doing measurements. She was wearing a dark green dress, one that resembled nature and practically seemed like it was made in a forest. One that a fairy pony would wear while stepping into the river and dancing through the trees and grass.

It was the day before Fluttershy's wedding, and Rarity was making sure everything was perfect. Fluttershy was hesitant to admit it, but she wanted everything to be perfect, too.

"No! No, darling. I will say I hate the color. Do you want to try another on?" Rarity asked, setting down her measuring tape and smiling gently at her friend. "I don't see why you wanted to stray away from the traditional white, because I do see some nice white ones with lace over there... but whatever works best for you, dear. It's your day to shine!"

"I don't mind white, it's just..." Fluttershy was interrupted by their personal stylist coming into the dressing room, abruptly opening the door.

"I have more dresses for you to try on, Fluttershy, you're going to look amazing!" The pony said. Rarity had insisted on hiring a personal stylist for Fluttershy's wedding, but Fluttershy would have rather picked it out herself. Although, the stylist was a lot of help, now that she had seen their work. No dress seemed perfect yet, though.

"Ooooh! I love that one with the blue and gold... It's so artistic!" Rarity stared in awe at the dress, picking it up and fluttering it through the air like it was a beautiful cloud.

"I know right! I love the golden sequins!" The personal stylist pony said, fangirling along with Rarity. Fluttershy didn't quite understand what was so good about the dress, in her opinion it was kind of flashy... how good of a personal stylist can this pony be, if they couldn't yet understand that Fluttershy wanted neutral tones, Fluttershy thought to herself.

"What do you think, Fluttershy?" Rarity asked, shoving the dress in Fluttershy's face.

Fluttershy brushed the dress out of her nose area, and kindly said, "It's very nice... but it looks more like something Rainbow Dash would rather wear than me."

"Oh, of course. How about this one?" Rarity picked up a dress that was white at the bust, but had layers of sheer, neutral toned fabric throughout the flank. It had a beautiful golden brown tone, some different shades of forest green, and of course some pink to make it the usual wedding dress... the white part was lacy and covered in silver pearls.

"It's... beautiful," Fluttershy said, feeling her hooves through the layers of sheer fabric. "It looks almost magical..."

"Yes indeed!" The stylist pony said, "I thought this one would be perfect.. of course, after the blue one, of course..."

"I think we just found our dress!" Rarity shouted, her eyes sparkling with joy.

"I'll go try it on..." Fluttershy said, picking up the dress and taking off the one she already had on in favor of the one in her hands.

Fluttershy took a brief minute to fit the tight and fragile lace over her body, but as soon as she had it on, the layers flowed in the wind like the leaves on trees in the springtime... the lace was eloquent, adding a professional and fancy touch to the dress. It was almost a perfect combination of both Rarity and Fluttershy's vision of the perfect dress.

"I love it," Fluttershy said, smiling silently to herself.

"It looks amazing, magical, and elegant, darling." Rarity said, holding in her squeal.

"I can't wait till the groom sees you walking down the isle in that wonderful dress, love! He'll be amazed!" The stylist pony said, adjusting the front part of the dress for Fluttershy.

Speaking of the groom....

It was not within the Lord of Chaos's plans to settle down and get married... ever, in fact. Until he met the love of his life, Fluttershy. Once they spent more time together, the feeling she gave him couldn't compare to anything he had ever felt before... he got joy from being generally insane, but the joy he felt around Fluttershy was warmer, almost like a gentle fire heating a fireplace in a small cottage.

Bleh, Discord thought, he was sounding so normal these days.

"So, Discord, are you ready for your big day? Eh eh?" Spike nudged him, adjusting Discord's bow tie so it was more centered.

"Of course I am! Who do you think I am, the lord of being nervous? The lord of being not entirely ready for this? Scared that he'll be losing a part of himself by submitting to a world of normality in favor of the one he loves? Not me!" Discord stated proudly, although he did let out a nervous chuckle afterwards.

"He's totally a wreck," Spike whispered to Big Mac.

"Y'yup," Big Mac whispered back.

It wasn't that he didn't love Fluttershy... he knew that she loved him for every bit of chaos that he was. It was just very grounding to be marrying another creature who cannot snap their fingers and cause the sky to rain chocolate. And Discord did not like being grounded.

"You'll be fine!" Spike said, smiling. "I bet Fluttershy is every bit just as nervous as you are,"

"Does this suit make me look fat?" Discord asked, snapping his fingers and making himself blow up like a balloon. He exploded and pieces of him and the suit went everywhere.

"Discord!" Spike yelled, "You ruined the suit!"

"I didn't like it anyway," Discord said, crossing his arms and sighing. "It's just so plain,"

"Can't you just like... do some magic thingy and make yourself a perfect suit? One that preferably is able to withstand being blown up into a giant balloon?" Spike asked, sighing as well.

Discord then got an idea. He snapped his fingers and suddenly was in a suit that was a mishmash of different patterns and colors, and the colors appeared to be moving around on the fabric.

"That's amazing, Discord!" Spike said, hopping off the crate he had been standing on. "You even got the tie just right..." Spike went to reach for the tie and it squirted him with grape juice.

"Very fancy," Spike said, wiping water from his face.

"This day is going to be great!" Discord smiled, "And as my best man, Big Mac, you must wear a suit alike mine."

"E'yu-" Big Mac screamed as Discord turned his regular-looking black and white suit into one with moving, psychedelic patterns as well.

"What about me?" Spike asked.

"No, you can go naked," Discord said spitefully. "This is going to be the best wedding in all of Equestria!"
