Comforting A Human Child

It was a bright and sunny morning in Canterlot. in the dining hall, Celestia was eating her breakfast. She was eating pancakes with butter flavored syrup.
''Can I get you anything else your highness?,''the waiter asked.
She was wiping her lips of the remains of the pancake syrup with her napkin, and said
''Yes. Can I get a cup of tea for me and my sister please?'' she asked.
''Of course, your majesty.''
The waiter nodded and then wrote what Celestia had ordered, and trotted away.

A couple of minutes later, her younger sister Luna came into the dining hall and greeted her.
''Good morning Tia! Anything new going on today?''
She trotted up to her took a seat and sat next to Celestia. The waiter slowly trotted to the princesses and to give them their tea.
''Your hot beverages, your highnesses!'' the waiter said, levitating both cups of Tea to Luna and Celestia.
Then, she trotted away.
''Well I do have something to tell you, but you may not like it dear sister.'' she replied, levitating the cup taking a small sip of her Tea,

'''Oh? Whatever do you mean, Tia?'' Luna asked, levitating her cup, and taking a big sip.
Celestia sighed, and turned head to face her sister, giving her a weak smile.
''I'm going on vacation by myself. I'll be gone for 8 months, shall we say it.''
Luna then all of the sudden spit her tea all over the table.
''WHAT!? Tia, why are you leaving for so long!?'' she asked, giving her a sad look.
"That is something that even I cannot explain. I'm sorry dear sister, but I must be going. Besides, you won't be alone. You will still have your nephew Blueblood.'' Celestia said, giving her a smile, trying to cheer her sister up.

Luna shook her head and scoffed at her.
"My nephew?! Yeah right, what about him? He doesn't want to spend time with me! He's probably got other stuff to do!''
Then, Prince Blue Blood came trotting in, having had listened to the argument between his aunts, and yelled something very loudly.
''WOULD YOU TWO JUST RELAX, GOSH OH MIGHTY!''
The both of them stop bickering at each other, and turned their faces to the prince. He just stood there, giving them a weird look.

''What?'' he simply asked.
Luna then approached him with an aggressive look.
''So I'm guessing that you're leaving as well!'' she shouted.
He nodded his head, and rubbing his neck with his hoof, gave her a nervous look on his face.
''Oh yeah, Auntie Luna. I'm also leaving too, I'm going away to Las Pegasus to gamble away my bits and see if I win or not. Hahaha!'' he said, giving her a fake smile and then galloped out of the dining hall.

Luna however... she turned her face to Celestia with tears in her eyes. She felt bad, and slowly trotted to her, then massaged her neck with her hoof.
''its gonna be alright, Lulu. I'm sure that you can handle watching the castle all by yourself.'' she said, giving her a slight smile, and trotted out of the room, leaving her sad and full of stress. She trots to her sister's bedroom packing her stuff.
''Well, I guess this is goodbye then.'' Celestia said.
Luna sighed and giving her sister a sad look and nodded goodbye.
''Tia please be safe!'

Celestia then nodded, and used her horn to teleport out of her room and before Luna knew it, she was gone.
She put her hoof on her chin, and started thinking to herself.
What can I do now that she's gone hummmmm. Oh, I know! I'll take a nice stroll around the city streets! she thought to herself.
She trotted out of her sister's room and headed outside. It was dark outside, and she had to raise the moon because that's part of her job as being the princess of the night. After she was done raising the moon, she trotted away into the streets. It was nice that she had the entire castle to herself, and now she can relax by simply taking a walk. But as she is trotting away, her ears perked up after hearing very loud sobbing. Her face was spread with concern, and she then trotted to the source of the sound. When she finally got to it, she saw not just a pony but a big pedal creature curled up into a ball, sobbing in the middle of the street.

Her heart ache in pain when she saw this terrible sight.
This poor creature looks like it has been treated poorly by those monsters who called themselves parents! she thought to herself.
She slowly approached it, and lightly tapped it's shoulder with her hoof. It slowly stopped sobbing, and uncurled itself. They sat up and to look at who had tapped him. She made a small gasp, and look at the human child's face. It had cuts and bruises all over its face.
''P-p-p please d-d-d-d don't h-h-h-hurt m-m-me! I-I-promise i'll-i'll b-b be a-a a g-g good b-b-boy.'' he said in a broken tone of voice.

She was definitely heartbroken for the poor child. She put her hoof on his shoulder and rubbed it, comforting him.
"What is your name, my dear child?" she softly asked, trying not to scare the child.
"M-m-m my n-n-n name is James." he said, more tears welling up in his eyes.
She motioned him for a hug.
"Come here, sweetheart. I won't hurt you, I promise. she said in a soft tone, and caring voice.
''O-o-o-ok ,miss,'' he said, and slowly put his arms into Luna's hug, as she embraced him softly.

''Shh, sweetie. Shh. it's ok, shhhh you can trust me. Shhhhh. How about I bring you to the castle, and get you can get a nice peaceful sleep, away from these dark and cold street?" she asked, ruffling his dark brown hair.
He then nodded.
"O-o ok, uh, miss...?"
"Luna. You can call me Luna." she said, rubbing his back.
"Okay, miss Luna." he said in a respectful tone.

''Why don't you hop onto my back, and I'll take you to my home?''
''O-o-o ok, mi-mi-miss Luna.'' he said, slowly losing his conscious.
But thankfully she caught him in her forehooves, before he dropped down onto the alicorn's back.
"Don't worry James, I will make your life more happy than it is now." she whispered into his ear.
She then cradled him in her arms, as she quickly flew away from the streets, and back to the castle.
