The next day
Luna woke up to hear the poor child sobbing and whimpering into her mattresses. She nuzzled into his hair and tried to say reassuring things to him.
''Shhh. It's okay, I've got you. Shhh, you're safe with me".
He slowly stopped his crying, and opened his dark blue eyes to see Luna smiling at him.
''Did you sleep alright, James?'' she said, while rubbing his arm with her hoof.
He nodded and wiped away his tears.
''yes, Luna, I slept, perfectly fine.'' he said with the same broken tone of voice.
''Well, that's good to hear. Would you like to get something to eat? You must be pretty hungry.'' she said, as she slowly unwrapped her arms from the child.
Slowly climbing out of her bed, she levitated James out of bed, and gently put him onto her back.
"Come now, let's head to the dining hall, shall we?" she said, rubbing her hoof slowly on his shoulder.

She opened the door with her magic, and trotted out of her room with James on her back.
Before they had arrived at the dining hall, she had totally forgotten that Celestia and Blue Blood were away on their own vacations.
*sigh* its not going to be the same without them.... she thought to herself.
It truly felt very weird, being without her sister and her nephew here in the castle. She then shook those thoughts away, and levitated James off of her back, then placed him on the ground, so he could take a seat. She took a seat and sat next to him.
''Good Morning, Princess Luna, can I ge- SWEET CELESTIA WHAT IS THAT THING!?''
The waiter gasped, and pointed her hoof at James, who was shaking uncontrolaby from the Unicorn's outburst.

Luna gently rubbed his back with her hoof to comfort him after the waiter's sudden outburst. She turned her head to face the waiter, with feelings of discust and anger.
''HOW DARE THOUGH SHOUT AT THIS PRECIOUS LITTLE CHILD! DO YOU NOT SEE THAT YOU ARE SCARING HIM!?'' she yelled in her royal Canterlot voice.
She immediately regretted shouting at the waiter, for James was now shaking even more. She wrapped her arms and wings around him and nuzzled his hair.
''I'm sorry James shh.. I didn't mean to shout, shh.'' she said, turned her head to the waiter who had a very distinctive look of fear in her eyes.

"I think that you probably owe an apology." she said to the waiter.
“Forgive me your highness, I'm very sorry for my outburst." she said in an apolagetic tone.
Luna nodded, and unwrapped James from a tight hug. The waiter then levitated the menus to Luna and James. James ordered scrambled eggs, and Luna ordered the same.
''Can I get you two any drinks?'' she asked.
''I'll have a hot Tea please, and please give James here some orange juice." She said in a nice tone.
''Coming right up, your highness!'' she said, trotted away.

After waiting a few minutes for the breakfast and drinks, the waiter came in with their hot breakfasts, as well as their beverages, giving them to Luna and James, and trotted away once again.
''can I tell you something Luna? I just need to, please." he asked, timidly.
She took a sip of her tea and gently put it on the table. She ruffled his hair with her hoof.
''Sure! You can tell or ask me just about anything, James. I won't be upset, I promise.'' she said, giving him a caring smile.
Tears were starting to well up in his eyes.
"my-p-parents... would always constantly beat me. every time I asked them a question, or tried to tell them anything."
She gasped in shock at what he was telling her about his family.

and told me that I was weak and fragile and that I was a mistake in the family. so I made a w-wish last night. I wished that I was away from my mommy and Daddy. because they didn't care about me''. He sobbed loudly and whimpered at the same time. Luna was left very heartbroken for him. She had tears streaming down her eyes. She gently wrapped her arms and wings around him and nuzzled his face. I'm ''very truly sorry, James about your parents that caused soo much abuse on you. She sobbed while still holding him. ''breakfast is served your highness''. the waiter said. levitating the scrambled eggs to Luna and James and trotted away,

they unwrapped each other and got back to eating. after they were done, she levitated him on her back and trotted out of the dining hall. hummm. I could have Cadence and Twilight over to meet James. yeah that's what I'm going to do, she thought to herself.

Meanwhile in Ponyville

Spike! get up right now, your already wasting the day by staying in bed all day!! she shouted at her number one assistant. Oh come on Twilight! just give me a few more mins please. he said covering his head with the pillow. then twilight came up with an idea and giggled lightly. Oh what's that, Rarity has been kidnapped by the diamond dogs. oh no Spike we got to help her! she said in a tiny bit of sarcasm. yeah right like im going to beli- WAIT WHAT!? he jumped out of the bed. and quickly ran to the door, but to his surprise. he got hit in the face by the door opening up, and to be greeted by Cadence and made her way inside.

hello Twilight long time no see! she turned around to see her foul sitter, Cadence! Twilight yelled with joy and ran up to her and embraced her tightly, its so good to see you! she said. same here with you cadence said patting her on the back. Twilight chuckled lightly, then they started to hear a groaning sound coming from the door, spike are you alright? twilight asked. the door slowly closed to reveal spike. and he was walking very weird. I'm feeling fine twilight, he said and collapsed onto the ground, they both giggled at his behavior and looked at each other.

as they were about to say something spike burped out magic and twilight levitated the scroll to let cadence to see, Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle. its me Luna I'm at the castle by myself, my sister Celestia has gone away on vacation she told me that she was going to be away for at least 8 months. I know it sounds crazy but its true!! my nephew Blue Blood is away as well. for who knows how long! he said he was going to Las Pegasus and gamble away all of his bits to see if he wins or not. I don't know why that came to his mind! I was trotting away in the city streets, and I've found a young human child sobbing in the middle of the street. and so then I comfort him his voice sounded so broken, I couldn't bear to leave him there so I took him. if you would be so kind, if you bring cadence along! from princess Luna.
