Celestia has always been a kind ruler. With her sister Luna and her prodigy Twilight Sparkle, and with the help of her friends, she was able to maintain peace for a very long time. Her subjects could live happily and free without fear of being hurt.

Currently, nightfall becomes. Celestia lowered sun and after a while, the moon came out. Sighed with a relief of the work, the day made her tired. She wasn't surprised by that. Nobles could be sometimes a pain in the flank. At least some of them. Now she was watching Ponyville. At night, ponies started to go to bed at this point, just like her.

Despite being an alicorn and the Princess of the Sun, Celestia was simple ponie. She had a... very unhealthy taste for sweets and wine. But her body was able to maintain a very big amount of it. She also can forgive ponies if she wants, even if some think they don't deserve it. She liked also dancing and playing games like cheese.

''Ponyville looks very quiet at night'' Celestia said while preparing herself to bed.

''I would agree with you, my dear'' a voice said that surprised Celestia and made her look around her room.

"Who said that?" Celestia asked confused

For the moment, silence fell. After a while, a voice spoke up again. "I think you should already know that..."

Unknown to Celestia, a shadow appeared behind her. It was taller than her and looked like it was made of the black, living fire that glowed purple. His face had two eyes, where his left had pupil that looked like a circle with the dot in the middle. Where his mouth should be, there was a set of red tooth, shaped into a smile.

He moved his head close to her ear and whispered in a deep voice "Princess Celestia"

That caused her to jump and trip over. She clenched her chest and started breathing very fast, while the shadow creature chuckled at his sneak attack. "It seems that even after many years after our meeting you didn't change, my dear"

After calming herself down, Celestia looked at the creature with a frown on her face.

"Who are you and how did you get here?" She asks/demanded him to answer her question.

"Heh. I can't believe that you forget about me, after so many years" He chuckled.

"What you mean?" Celestia asked him.

"Do you remember when you and Star Swirl Bearded enter my realm by using the magical portal, that he created many years ago after you banished Luna to the moon? Does that ring the bell?" The creature asked with a serious tone in his voice.

Celestia closed her eyes and started to think about what he said to her now. Then images started to appear, showing her, her mentor and a beast made of black flames. Her eyes suddenly widened and looked at the creature with dread chilling her down to the spine.

"Sokar..." Celestia whispered the name of the creature while covering her mouth with her hoof. Sokar smile widened at the sight.

"You thought that I wouldn't be able to get here? Well, I hate to broke your hopes up, my dear." Sokar let out a malevolent laugh, that filled the air. Celestia collected herself and took a long breath and calmed her down.

"How did you get here? Star Swirl put a spell that blocked access to your world and from yours to ours, then how?" Celestia couldn't believe that someone like Sokar managed to get past through spell that her mentor created to block access for using portals like his.

"If I want to be honest with you, Equestria spells are a child play to me. Besides it doesn't matter that one of the entries is blocked, I will always find a way to get to many places with a snap of my fingers, Celestia." He explained to her with pride and joy that filled him right now, making Celestia's eyes widened at his answer. "But let's return to the main topic. I wanted to tell that I will soon appear in this world. It has been a very long time since I been here. My brother will come with me, Celestia."

"Your brother? I didn't saw him in your world Sokar." Celestia told him.

"That's because he preferred to stay behind the scenes like he always did before." Sokar sighed, knowing his brother too well.

"I see..." Celestia nodded at that.

"We both had an idea to visit your world, Celestia. A maybe became even friends. So, what will you say about that?" Sokar asked her, extending his clawed hand to her.

Celestia wasn't sure about this. On other hoofs it could be a trick, that would cause her to put the entire population at danger, on other hoofs he wasn't lying and he was honest with her. Decided to take a chance, she reached her hoof and shacked his hand. His smile widened even more and slightly opened.

"Excelent! Tomorrow we meet when you bring your sister, Twilight Sparkle with her friends and Princess Cadance with her husband and brother of Twilight, Shining Armor! Explain to them the situation and then... then we will appear! Don't disappoint us!" Sokar let out madman laughter before disappearing into the ground.

Celestia was relieved that Sokar left her. For now. She decided that was the best time to go to sleep. She wears off her boots, crown and her regalia and falls asleep on her bed. What she didn't know that a shadow with red eyes was watching her before disappearing into the darkness.

On the next day, Celestia was on her throne with her sister at her side. Before them stood Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Princess Cadance with Shining Armor at her side. All of them were worried because she brought them for reason unknown.

Celestia cleared her throat before speaking. "You probably wondering why I brought you here. I will explain all of now. Yesterday I was visited by the creature known as Sokar. He appeared in my room while I was preparing to sleep."

"Did he done something to you, Princess?" Twilight asked her teacher.

She shooked her head. "No not at all Twilight. He didn't hurt me. Although I was anxious when he was around me."

"How did he even get to your room sister? The guards should spot him sneaking into the castle." Luna asked curious about the intruder.

"He used magic to teleport to my room. He can manipulate fire which he is made of." Celestia answered her.

"Does that mean that he is a Fire Elemental? I read that each of the elements has creatures that represent them. Fire, Wind, Thunder, Water, Earth are the most common elements." Twilight explains to the group.

"I'm afraid that you wrong Twilight. The race that Sokar belongs to is a natural manipulator of fire. They are born with it." Celestia said to Twilight.

"You speak as you meet him before" Cadance spoke to Celestia.

"That's true Cadance. That wasn't the first time that we meet. The first time that I met him was after Luna was banished. Our mentor Star Swirl Bearded was creating a magical mirror that acted as a portal. He asked me to help him. I agreed. After we completed it, we tested it. When we crossed the mirror we found ourselves in his realm. It was a collection of floating rocks and islands. The sky was purple and when we looked down we saw bottomless pit. He immediately sensed our presence in his home. He appeared in his true form. He looked like a skull-like creature with sharp purple teeth and eyes sockets with only one eye on his left side. His hands weren't even connected to his shoulders, they were floating. He summoned his servants, created from unknown material that resembled rock. He told us that we shouldn't be there. We explain to him that we were testing a mirror that we created. It caught his attention. He recalled his minions and asked us many questions like who we are and where we came from and we did the same. He told that we could leave his realm but he promised us that he would appear in our world when the time comes. I was hoping that he wasn't speaking the truth. Star Swirl wanted to make sure that he won't come through, so he cast a spell on the mirror to block an entrance on Sokar's side, but it seems we underestimated him." Celestia said with a sigh at the end.

"You mean that he broke the spell that Starswirl himself cast in the mirror?" Twilight asked shocked that Sokar managed to get to their world.

"I'm afraid that is not the case. I speculate that the mirror was only the gateway we could use it to travel to his world, while he can freely create a portal, leading him to our world." Celestia answered Twilight.

"How powerful he is, sister? The magic that he used wasn't something that anyone could do." Luna asked her sister.

"He's a very powerful dark magic user from what I saw. He told me that he's immortal and he existed long before we two were born Luna. Each member of his race is a manifestation of certain aspects. Sokar is Aspect of Death and Madness." Celestia said shocking everyone in the throne room.

"Y-You mean that he is... Death itself?!" Twilight asked.

"Not exactly Twilight. Death existed before him but yes. He is Death incarnate. That grants him immortality. He's a God. A God that was betrayed by his brothers." Celestia said to Twilight, making everyone either surprised or shocked.

"Betrayed? By his family? Why?" Applejack asked.

"You see... The race where Sokar comes from was evil, at least their leaders. They wanted to gain control over other worlds but Sokar didn't agree with them. Raktul, Aspect of Tyranny, the main leader of them sent Sokar to the prison and tortured him for many decades. He went insane, because of the endless suffering and became Aspect of Madness in process. He promised that he will stop them even if that means sacrificing his own life. He saw what they could do. After some time he broke out from his prison, stronger then his former family and then hell broke out. A bloody fight started between but he wasn't alone in this. His brother Vrede, Aspect of Hatred and Osiris, Aspect of Prosperity helped him. Both of them were spies, helping Sokar preparing for the final battle. When it happened they defeated them. Osiris convinced their brothers that what they were doing was wrong and they join them, except Raktul. He was executed by Sokar and his essence was absorbed by Aspect of Madness. After that Osiris became the new main leader of their race. He wanted to give Sokar and Vrede a place in their world but they declined his offer saying that they wanted to help others in need. They weren't lying. They helped many people to this day." Celestia explained to everyone.

After hearing it, some were deep in their thoughts, others felt sadness for Sokar. Years being trapped in endless pain could break anyone. Luna remembered the time where she was trapped on the moon as Nightmare Moon. Her jealousy brought her to her downfall. 1000 years being locked on the moon nearly pushed her to the edge of insanity. She let out a single tear that fell to the ground. She quickly wiped her cheek with her hoof.

"Poor fella. No parties, no gifts, no friends. That is the saddest history that I heard." Pinkie Pie mane and tail feel down in sadness. Everyone deserved a party because without them they couldn't be happy.

"Being betrayed sucks, but being betrayed by your family, it's the worst betrayal of all of them." Rainbow Dash growled. Being the Element of Loyalty means to serve your friends and protect them with your life. What happened to Sokar hit her like a train.

"I can't believe that his own family would do this to him." Applejack whispered, trying to process everything she heard. For her family is the most important thing in the world. She would never betray them or her friends. Ever.

"Now you know everything." Suddenly a voice that echoed through the hall caught everyone besides Celestia off guard. A black portal appeared behind them and from it emerged Sokar but under a different form. He was taller then Celestia. He was wearing a spiky armor with two spikes longer from the rest on his shoulders. His hair was dark and he wore his iconic eyes and smile. He wore a cloak around his hips that covered his legs that too were wearing armor.

"My own family... turn back on me and condemn me to the pits of hell. Only Vrede and Osiris remained at my side. Raktul tried to break me. To get information on anyone that worked with me, but I didn't speak a single word. It made him mad. All this pain I endured for the sake of my brothers that believed in our case. After I freed myself Hatred filled my mind and heart but I wasn't consumed by it because of my brothers that helped me. To this day Osiris with the rest of leaders leads our kind to the better future, free of Raktul tyranny. I forgive them a long time ago. I and Vrede remain in the Abyss, the realm where I meet Celestia and her mentor. So... that's it guess. By the way nice to meet you, everyone!" Sokar greeted them, extending his clawed hand.

Everyone was surprised by Sokar's behavior. They didn't think that he will be that colorful person, despite his past. Twilight shooked his hand nervously.

"I-It's honor to meet you Sokar, my name is-" Twilight spooked but she was cut by Sokar hand, covering her muzzle.

"-Twilight Sparkle. Princess of Friendship. The Element of Magic and apprentice of Princess Celestia. I heard about you a lot." Sokar ended for her, which surprised her. "I mean I heard that you helped many on your way to this point."

Twilight slightly blushed at his compliment. "Please, without my friend's help I wouldn't be here right now..."

Sokar chuckled at her reaction. "That's true. With your friends, you manage to overcome even the most challenging task. Never forget about them and they won't forget about you."

Twilight nodded her, like her friends. Pinkie Pie suddenly appeared behind Sokar's left shoulder which surprised him.

"Do you like party's, do you have friends, do you like surprises or cakes. I made the best cakes in Ponyville! Do you want me to bake some?" Pinkie asks in her casual sweet and child-like tone.

"Heh heh heh. I would like to but not right now little one. Maybe later." Sokar answered. He sweet dropping at her attitude. ' It seems that pink one can somehow break laws of reality. I have to remember that.'

"Oki Doki sir!" Pinkie answered reappearing next to Fluttershy.

"Speaking of surprises, my brother will arrive in three, two, one..." Sokar said and suddenly a new portal next to him opened. A man with red hair and red eyes came through. He was wearing a black and red t-shirt. He was wearing crimson red pants and red combat boots. His face looked like Sokar but with the minor changes and he was slightly shorter from him. He cracked his neck, making the sounds of cracking bones filled the air. "By the gods, I forget that doing that causes my neck to go numb. Hm?" He looked up seeing surprised group before him. "Oh. Forgive me about that. My name is Vrede and I am the brother of Sokar." He said while bowing his head.

"For the last time Vrede. Stop doing that. You scare whenever you doing that." Sokar growled at his brother while sending him a glare.

"Sorry about that bro, I forget about it, I promise that it won't happen again jeez, some people don't have a sense of humor, I suppose. " Vrede said slightly chuckling while Sokar sighed, rubbing his eyes.

"Anyways. It's nice to 'hand' you everyone!" Vrede joked, causing Sokar eye twitched at his brother pun.

"It's alright Vrede. Welcome to Ponyville." Twilight greeted brother.

"Ponyville? Hm..." Vrede thought before snapping his fingers and a calendar appeared next to him. He was flipping the pages before he stopped on the page showing October. "Say, if I remember correctly, in this month an event called 'Nightmare Night' am right?" He asked Celestia.

"Indeed. It will appear tomorrow. At night." Celestia answered brother.

"Mind if we join in your majesty?" Sokar asked with his smile growing widened on his smile.

"Of course. Everypony can attend." Celestia said.

"Excellent! It seems that we will have to prepare our costumes brother. See you soon!" Vrede happily said before he disappeared in black flames. Sokar chuckled at his brother enthusiast.

'He never changes' "See you tomorrow everyone!" Sokar bowed before he too disappeared, leaving the group to prepare for the most Darkest Nightmare Night.
