The Blazing Ocean of Emotion
Lucky You
Previous ChapterThere Sunset Shimmer stood my hold highschool bully. Someone who had viciously and enjoyably destroyed my privacy and my trust in all the friends I thought I had at the time. It seemed like even after all these years my anger, sorrow and hatred hadn't been quenched one bit. yet here I was offering her a friendly hand when I could have easily said some snarky remark and left her where she stood.
I could see it in her expression she had already thought I was going to do just that. She gave me a look it was of someone close to giving up the little ember of hope that was still inside them like no more wood was left to fuel the fire and keep away the dark murky thoughts from becoming action. I noticed the edges of her mouth curl slightly as she began to speak. "Oh...hello Mercury n-nice to see your doing well."
When the words left her mouth I couldn't help but feel bad she looked utterly defeated. Her leather jacket was now just pieces of rag held together by old patches and stitches.she had a hoodie underneath that seemed to be in better shape than the rest of what she was wearing. I might have really disliked her but there was no telling how long this had been going on and to be honest she didn't deserve this.
I stood there it was a shock of hearing the same voice who used to scream at me and laugh sadistically being used as a nice greeting. It was almost hysterical the way she looked and talked. I went to respond to her and it seemed that small ember had found a new fuel as she had more life in her eyes then before I had arrived. "Sunset Shimmer....I dont suppose you need a place to stay, maybe some clothes a warm shower anything like that?"
When I said it I knew it sounded like I was about to rip the hope from her hands. Looking back I could have but I didn't I couldn't stand seeing any human I used to know suffer like that so I let the offer sit as I walked into the store. The place had mostly white radiating off the walls as the walls were lined with products of sale. There were coolers with beverages and even racks with chips and other things of that nature.I soon picked out some drinks to take back and walked to the register.
I could see sunset she was peeking at me through the window her frail face missing it's usual glow it once had. One point in time that same face used to symbolize fear amongst the people but now it just made me pity such the girl she used to be. She was broken in her own way. Her confidence shattered and what was left behind was a shell a husk maybe of what used to be. When I walked out I looked at her and said one thing I knew she was waiting to hear. If you want you can come with me, I can help you get back on your feet since I have a long break from work I should have time. She had paused to stare she didn't trust me that was obvious so with that she crossed her arms and answered like she had power. "No I'm ok thank you though."
I sighed and nodded before putting the drinks in my back seat and waving as I drove off and away from the store. I knew she wanted to trust me but this world is so cruel when you leave home and school. You can't just boss your way around you must adapt and even then people still go their separate ways and do things without you it's just life everything changes. As I looked back on that very lesson o had taught myself I looked out my window the fog from the cold air making this day so much more crippling than the last. The cold would knaw at you trying to get you to give in to it's kiss of death even it was so subtle and easy to fall into the abyss that lay below was much worse for the people around you.
Soon I had looked at the very path my friends lay at and I pulled down it the same house, the same drive way and the same people. It all seemed like some circle or something destined to come together even if it took time. As I turned off the engine the silence was torcher to my ears and brain. I lurched myself out of the vehicle and grabbed the drinks from the back seat.
The clacking of my footsteps up the creaking wooden stairs as I made my way to the door. I smiled knowing once again I was being reunited with long time friends. As soon as I opened the door I was greeted with the yelling of the two girls as they were tangled up on the floor fighting most likely from an argument gone wrong. "Hey you two stop it!" I screamed as they looked up their face showed they weren't supposed to be caught and yet here they were refusing to explain why they were in that little predicament.
I could tell right off the bat that Dash looked guilty. She had definitely started it or had a hand in starting it. The way her eyes couldn't make their way from the ground like a magnetic force was keeping them from moving made that widely apparent. Trixie on the other hand had her cheeks puffed out and her eyes filled with jealousy. It was easy to tell because she always acted out when she was jealous of others. "Alright so who caused it?"
When I asked I noticed instantly that dash had flinched like she was expecting trouble that made this a few bits easier to figureing out who the culprit was. She again was finding the floor to rather interesting all the tell tale signs of someone who was regretting a decision made moments prior."Dash I won't be made just did you start it?"
When I asked she was still like moss on a rock but soon her voice was given light. As she began to explain what had happened I couldn't help but see why she didn't want me to know it was rather personal.
"So...look I was telling Trixie how after we won the championship in the tournament we...sort of you know did that thing at your house..." I knew she was talking about how we had given each other our first times back then and I knew that had hurt Trixies feelings as she had always had a thing for me I couldn't quite return her feelings though. Look you two need to sort this out and I mean it right now.
