Loving the Enemy (T Version)
Impact - Prologue

As you may had noticed, the original story had been deleted and this is now it's newer version.
The reason I deleted it was of various factors, but mainly because I always had a chapter in advanced which really screwed me up, I was unsure if it were to be anthro or pony, and problems with deciding if it actually should be T or M or not.
So here's some changes.
Impact - Prologue and Impact - Aftermath will be posted at the same time since they go more better together than seperated. The chapters I'm having right now will be posted at a later date.
The story will be changed to M not only because it would allow a bigger group to watch but because I feel like any M scene would appear way too later into the story so in that case I would rather create a M Story version for that where it contains those scenes
I decided to settle in on Anthropomorphic Ponies instead of Equestrian Ponies. No do not confuse with Equestrian Girls. All these three are different. It makes the writing way more easier that way. This means that there'll be some changes in the text though some might slip by.
I'm also sooner or later (from the point I'm writing this which is on 2/16/2020) draw the cover for this story. Don't know how long it'll take.
I'm still wondering if OCs should be allowed into this story as it would help me in not having to create new ones from scratch or having similar OCs with just different color schematics. They'll most likely be placed as soldiers, and they'll probably die which is why I'm uncertain as I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings with seeing their OC die and just say 'because'. But then yet again I could try to make it as memorable so maybe a few main OCs, which could either live or die memorable. Then maybe secondary who just have a scene or two. It's still in the making of whether I should do such thing.
Which is why I say, I need followers and likes so that this story can become rather interesting. Sharing is Caring for me in this context and comments and reviews are acceptable. Every time someone does this is good and makes me feel happy.
Anyways I'm going to begin this story and make sure that it's acceptable for all of you.
Impact - Prologue
A single jet hovers over the light-filled city called Manehatten. Even though a message that warned of destruction of the city, many simply did not pay attention when only one single plane appeared over Manehatten's skies. What could one plane do? Sure it was many generations ahead of their own planes, but the Equestrians were confident that their magical shield, powered by something unseen to the likes of many before, could repel anything that was dropped on them. This thing, that was part of a project to generate electricity to improve Equestria's quality of life many years before the war, now was part of the project to create a weapon that they hope could destroy their enemy: The Lunar Republic
A thousand years ago when the Lunar Republic was born, it had been formed under the Princess of the Night, Princess Luna, younger sister of the Solar Princess. War though broke out between the Republic and the Empire due to many racial discrimination. The Lunars were known as 'nighttime' ponies or 'nightmares', having a population of thestrals, necromancers, and vamponies, along with many of those that Equestria deemed as the enemy like changelings and umbrums. Essentially the Lunars became everything that the Equestrians feared and hated, and after many raids on these Lunar towns, the Republic was forced to escape to the moon to save it's citizens from being slaughtered.
With Equestria declaring itself as the victor, having repelled the beasts of the night, Equestria began to rewrite history as they would seem fit to glorify both themselves and the Solar Princess, Princess Celestia, who they deemed as their sole and true Queen. Thus the legend of Nightmare Moon was born, a evil sister who's jealousy grew to the point where she engaged war with Equestria, and Celestia was forced to banish her and her kind to the moon. And soon this lie would bite them in the future once the Lunars returned.
During this long era, the Lunars had to cope with having few unicorn allies and having to start literally on a barren world, one that was unlike their own. The gravity would've weakened their bones to complete degradation, the air was basically non-existent, and with no atmosphere it was expected that they would die out in only the first century. Thus the Lunars diverted their attention to technology, which drastically would affect their development. With the materials on the moon,
the Lunars quickly began to skyrocket in technology, magnifying the magical domes that Luna had created in the beginning and increasing the gravity to make sure that their next generations could prosper. They turned the soil fertile and as their dome expanded, they developed ways of transportation, and ultimately more and more domes, each designated for a specific contribution of their nation. They would mine comets from space for water and other materials to keep them alive, and for a time all seemed well.
But most importantly, they knew, that sooner or later, they would have to go back home, back to Equestria in case there was a water shortage. There was a chance though, that war could break out.
When that day finally came, one thousand years later, the Lunars planted bases in the Unexplored West and in the Cold North, ideal places where they could collect drinkable water for their population. They would send delegates to all the nations of the world, asking for basic civil relationships to prevent any wars between themselves. And for a time, things went good. The Lunars and Equestrians at first seemed to get along, but soon their ancient grudges began to reappear, especially though Prince Blueblood who would criticize the Lunars and place the minds of the citizens against the Lunars. When Princess Luna found out that not only did the Equestrians paint lies about them, and that her own sister did nothing to stop this from happening, their relationship broke down. It would only take one move to bring these two countries at war.
During this time, the Equestrians had the opportunity to research Lunar technology and to buy some from many Lunar sellers who were interested in either making themselves wealthy, or helping Equestria prosper and to repair their strained relationships. This though would be used to speed up their own research, with Prince Blueblood secretly giving it the go to do so and to prepare their own military for war with the Lunars, all who were increasingly becoming aware of what could be happening. And without any consent from Princess Celestia, and without any warning, a force of 1 Million Equestrians stormed many Lunar bases across the world, killing as many as they could, with the initial death toll nearing the thousands.
It was too late to back down. War had begun.
Within the first days of this hostile advance, around a million Lunars, armed to the teeth arrived on the outer outposts of the nation. Princess Celestia seeing the impending number of deaths that would come, pleaded Luna to halt this counter attack, but Luna would then argue that since Celestia did nothing in the first war, and that no matter how many times Luna had asked Celestia to stop believing that the two nations could simply make peace together and do something, only for the Solar Princess to not pay attention, now the Lunar Princess would do nothing and would not stop her own people from getting their vengeance. The blood that fell from their ancestors, and the blood that was just spilled on the ground just days ago, needed to be repaid, and so now the Lunars will do so.
Clashing in the Cold North, the Lunars showed unimaginable and astonishing signs of victory battle after battle, with many battle tactics that were unseen before. The Equestrians were in no shape for war, even with the first few years of preparations, compared to the Lunars, who were preparing for nearly all the time since their banishment. With Equestria, Saddle Arabia, and the Dragon Lands on one side, the Lunars, Changelings, and Zebras were on the other side. Eventually the Equestrians were able to finally deploy enough men and enough equipment to counter the Lunars, but even with their 10 to 1 advantage, the Lunars showed no signs of stopping.
Eventually, the Lunars were able to reach the Equestrian borders, though now both sides had been stuck in a stalemate. With now the sufficient technology and with the combined force of a billion, the Equestrians were able to halt the Lunar advance temporarily, who were now deciding how to carry this war out.
From there the siren warnings were implemented. Devices that would come before the Lunars ever showed up, usually a day before, to warn the Equestrians of destruction that would appear. Usually these came with a message asking the Equestrians to surrender and to halt their hostilities, but many times only a few out of a thousand would surrender, and as time passed on these numbers began to dwindle as the commanders began to punish those who tried to escape.
The Lunars would thus commence on operation at just the worst time possible: Operation Eclipse.
With the Equestrians relying heavily on Solar energy to power their machines through day and night, since it would be impossible to manage all of their machinery through just coal and fuel alone, the Lunars invented bombs that carried nanobots, that would get caught in the wind from their planes and create a black smoke, designed to block the sun's rays from reaching the ground. Over a thousand of planes would participate in the operation, with many acting as scouts to locate enemy activity and escort planes to protect the bombers that were designed for this mission from not getting destroyed. Even though nearly all the escort and scout planes would return safely home, by the end of the day however, only a few out of the many bomber planes designed solely from this mission would ever come back. Each bomber plane was specifically located and destroyed during the many thousands of miles that had to be crossed through Equestria. And while the Lunars would be able to recover these loses and give Equestria ten for every bomber, it was a lost that was not to be unaccounted for.
What made Operation: Eclipse screw over the Lunars though would be the disappearance of Princess Celestia.
Nopony knew how and why she along with Princess Cadence disappeared all of a sudden. But what was clear though was that now Prince Blueblood was in charge. With no hesitation Blueblood blamed their disappearance on the Lunars, saying that they imprisoned them and are currently torturing them, preventing Celestia from raising the sun. And with everyone loving Princess Celestia, and with no real evidence to prove the contrary, there was no real voice to say otherwise, and soon Equestria would bring all of it's populace into full contribution against the Lunars in absolute rage
From then, the estimated casualty rate of a few million was recalculated to be by the end of the war in the hundreds of millions. And sadly, the plane was estimated to bring that estimated rate to a even higher number.
Like always, high altitude messenger bombers began to drop small devices everywhere across Equestria. These planes flew so high that they were basically untouchable by Equestrian planes, so there was nothing to stop them from delivering these messages.
Of course these planes would've been helpful during Operation: Eclipse but there was really not much time to wait.
As the orbs became to come near the ground, they began to slow down and open up large holographic texts, hovering over the ground. Many Equestrians looked at these devices with hatred, knowing that they usually brought terrible news for them, and the loud siren sounds were as one pony said 'So fucking annoying I almost want to surrender just because of these noises'. And they were piratically indestructible so they couldn't really destroy it. Finally the orb began to play a voice message as texts appeared.
"Greetings citizens of Equestria. From the time since our first message, we've brought warning after warning. And even after disaster after disaster had come to your nation, you've paid no heed. For such, we will not back down anymore. Don't think you can fool us with your lies anymore! We've been observing your movements. We're aware that you've been developing a weapon of mass destruction in order to destroy our forces in the city of Manehatten, a prosperous urban site that would force many to reconsider attacking due to the amount of civilian casualties. But if you are all so keen in calling us monsters... and if you're so keen on learning the powers of what you're trying to create, we'll show you a little demonstration."
In the small town of Ponyvile, a young mare, with orange fur and blonde hair, looked at the device in fright, along with many other residents of Ponyville that were watching the 'news' from the Lunars. Over the course of the war, the Apple Family were forced to relocate their position to Manehatten after a bombing raid on the town of Ponyville to show the Equestrians that they could reach Canterlot if they wanted to, given the close proximity between the two places. Unfortunately not all of them could go together. Granny Smith was too old. Those conscripted in the army were designated to go to Manehatten, and the young ones were forced to also leave with the rest. The only one who stayed and would take care of the farm was Applejack. This separation tore their hearts, but both knew that Manehatten was probably one of the most safest spots that existed.
Well... used to exist, as the Lunars with this message are now claiming that they could strike Manehatten with a weapon of mass destruction. This frightened and tore Applejack's heart more. So all of this pain of moving away to Manehatten was worth nothing? That either ways her family was in danger no matter where they were? And they were even more so in Manehatten than if they had stayed in Ponyville?!
"We will give you one hour to evacuate your citizens and your military personnel to a specific location, a safe house for this time period. Right now as we speak, a location where Equestrians can evacuate to is being formulated." The text said, before a map of Equestria was formed, both showing city locations and the progress of the Lunar Invasion, with the Lunars close to breaking Equestrian front lines and diving deep into their own territory. Flashes of blue lights flashed across the screen as the randomizer was being used, until it landed straight to Ponyville.
For a moment Applejack was relieved. She was going to meet her family once again! She was going to be able to hug her family once more! They would just shrug off that terrifying experience and place it behind themselves, cause it didn't matter anymore! They would be together. Sure the members of the family that were part of the army would eventually have to be deployed, but in that short time period, they would be safe together.
"We will offer some cargo planes to be used for the massive transportation of Manehatten's populace, or you could use your own equipment for the task. Either ways I wish that by the end of the hour you would have liberated your civilians and soldiers from meeting a terrible fate." The text message said before blinking out of existence.
Applejack still smiled, but deep inside, she was worried. She was worried that perhaps the command in Manehatten would shrug off the threat, or they would think it's a trick since the Lunars offered their own planes for the evacuation. What type of enemy does that except those that want to trick them. Still though Applejack had high hopes that she could meet her family really soon, especially since both Equestrian and Lunar planes could travel quickly now at these days.
10 minutes passed and there were no aircraft hovering over Ponyville. There were no signs of any ponies being evacuated to Ponyville. Applejack tried to shrug it off. Perhaps they were trying to move all the population at once, or maybe they decided to ignore planes who were ideally faster, and that they were using their slower planes
Another 10 minutes passed, and there were still no cargo aircraft appearing. Applejack started to get worried, though she tried to shrug it off. Maybe they were experiencing turbulence, or there were problems with the transportation.
With now 45 minutes passing, Applejack started to get extremely nervous. There's no way that they could be taking this long. By this point somepony had to had arrived to Ponyville. But no. They were not.
By minutes 50, Applejack finally realized that was going on.
They weren't letting anyone leave.
By minute 55 a group of citizens in Ponyville had united with Applejack, trying to calm the mare down.
"Don't worry Applejack... maybe they are bringing as many planes as once... and maybe they're still loading up ponies!" A butterscotch furred pegasi said.
"Exactly! Don't feel so down! We have to prepare the 'Welcome back' party when they arrive!" A pink pony exclaimed, holding many balloons.
"Don't you see what's going on girls!?" Applejack suddenly yelled out, stunning the rest with her harsh expression. "They're not going to let anyone out of Manehatten. Nobody is going to leave Manehatten. They probably think that it's just a false threat, or that their military can take out that plane from the sky! They're going to die! Every last one of them!" Applejack yelled. Suddenly the text hologram reactivated itself.
"We are aware of what's happening in Manehatten. We have sent carriers to try to evacuate as many as we could, but your leaders refuses to let others who do value their own lives to save themselves. The time of judgment has come for Manehatten. May Faust have pity on all those in Manehatten and it's vicinity, and may those who caused the deaths of millions of innocent citizens be left with a last memory of guilt." The message said, before the holograms closed and fell to the ground, it's energy now terminated.
Applejack and the rest stood their stunned. Applejack's fears had been confirmed. They weren't going to let anyone leave Manehatten, which was to be destroyed very soon! They were not going to let anyone live, and her family was going to die!
The 60 minutes were nearly now up, in fact, perhaps they were already were! As the time passed 60 and went to 60 minutes and 10 seconds, Applejack and the rest of her friends started to brighten up. Yes! Somehow the Equestrians had knocked out that Lunar plane before it was able to deploy the bomb!
"Applejack!" The pink pony said as she hugged the orange pony from the Apple Family. "They're alive! They're going to live!"
"Maybe you were right Pinkie Pie! Thank Celestia! Now all I'm going to have to do is to go to Manehatten, see my family, and hug them because they're ali-"
The sky was suddenly brightened, as though as if the sun had been brought back. For a moment cheers were heard from some in the group. Perhaps Celestia had been liberated, as those papers say that they were locking on the position of Celestia and planning to recapture her from the 'monsters of the night'. But as they gaze towards the direction of the light, the direction of Manehatten, all hope vanished when they saw what they hoped they didn't see.
A massive fireball, many miles in diameter expanded, pushing the dark cloud of the night away. Shock waves traveled faster than the speed of sound, and the very foundation of the earth shook. Applejack, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy, and the few residents of Ponyville that had come to support Applejack, looked in horror as the heat wave hit them, it's effects now greatly diminished, but noticeably increasing the temperature. Their cool bodies were warmed by the heat, but yet those who felt it did not welcome it, especially one orange mare.
Applejack cried out loud, screaming in agony, pain and in sorrow. She knew what had happened. She knew it was too early to celebrate By the time she looked again, a massive mushroom cloud covered the distance of Manehatten many times over. Applejack grabbed her communication device that would automatically connect with Big Mac's in case of emergencies or to simply talk with him.
"Big Mac! Are you there!? Can you here me!? BIG MAC! APPLE BLOOM! GRANNY SMITH! ANYONE THERE!? PLEASE DON'T BE DEAD DON'T BE DEAD!" Applejack screamed as the only thing that would respond her would be radio silence.
"I-i-I'm sorry Applejack..." Pinkie Pie said, her mane now no longer it's puffy style, but now straightly hanging down. Fluttershy wrapped her hooves around Applejack, trying to console the now emotionally broken mare who was sobbing uncontrollably.
"It's too late... it's too late... they're dead..." Applejack said, before crying out in agony again, crying the names of her now dead family members. It was one thing to lose her parents, but now she had lost her grand mother, her brother, her younger sister, and all the rest of her siblings in a flash of light.
It was all over.
Far away in the outskirts of Manehatten, now pieces of rubble, two planes traveled through the air. Both of the planes were heading in the direction of Ponyville, though it was noticeable that one of these planes was not going to make it, namely the bigger one, one that could've housed thousands of ponies, now housing at the bare maximum of a hundred. The rest of the cargo planes had already left back to a Lunar base, but not this one. Sadly it's twin turbines were already in ruins, the mechanical parts lit in flames and breaking off, the plane losing altitude quickly. The other plane, with one seat was also badly damaged, it's pilot knocked out. Slowly the large plane crashed onto the ground, while the other plane drifted through the skies, it's estimated landing point calculated near a barn in Sweet Apple Acres...
