Demise of the King

It’s been months now; Equestria has fallen on tough times. Celestia has also now gone missing leaving cadence in charge of the kingdom. She’s trying her best to run things, but she’s no Celestia that’s for sure. Many ponies say Celestia killed herself at the loss of me; others say she left in search of me. At this point I’ve been brainwashed for so long I don’t think it can be undone. During the past several months many things had happened. Me and twilight finally got married, and to our surprise she was pregnant. I had taken up a job as a handy pony doing odd jobs here and there. Dash and shadow were still searching for the crown, but were following a cold trail and continued to come up empty hooved. And cheerilee had thrown a surprise foal shower for us. Everything seemed to be as a normal life should be.

One day while I was over at Sugar Cube Corner helping the cakes something happened. A pony busted through the front door “Nova come quick! Its twilight!” we rushed back to the house and there I found twilight lying on the ground in serious pain. “Are you ok dear? What’s wrong?” I was very concerned. “I’m going into labour baby” she tried to smile through the pain of her contractions. We hurried her to the hospital and she was prepped for delivery. Nurse Red Heart made sure I was covered before I entered the room. I then raced over to the bed and grabbed twilights hoof. You couldn’t see my mouth because it was covered but I had a huge smile on my face. She looked over at me with a really tired face like she was super exhausted but managed to break a smile. “I can’t believe it baby, this is one of the greatest days of my life” “I know dear mine too” I replied and then she squeezed my hoof tightly and started screaming in pain. “Alright here we go the baby is coming” the doctor said getting ready for the delivery. “Now on 3 you’re going to push ok twilight?” he instructed her “alright 1…..2…..push! One last time 1….2….push” twilight was screaming in extreme pain but finally the little foal was out. She laid her head back against the pillow completely out of it. She looked over at me and tried her best to smile.

After the doctor has cleaned off our new-born and it was wrapped in a blanket he handed the foal over to twilight. “Congratulations it’s a beautiful baby girl” the doctor said with a smile, you could tell he loved his job bringing new life into the world. The little foal had the same hide color as twilight, a pinkish purple color, and her mane was just like mine except it was pink. She had huge beady eyes that were stared directly towards twilight. Her face lit up with joy and tears began to run down her cheeks. As a father and husband, words could not describe how happy I was or how magical the moment was. The only surprise about our new born miracle was that she was a pegasus, I was expecting a unicorn but it didn’t matter I still loved her more than life. Twilight handed her over to me “here want to hold her babe?” “Of course dear” I took the little foal in my hooves and stared into her eyes. She looked so so cute with her binky in her mouth. Then I too began crying in joy, there’s something about holding your new-born in your hooves, a magic that cannot be described. After a while she fell asleep and I handed her back to twilight. “So babe, what should we name her?” twilight asked coddling her. “Hmmmmmmmm” I pondered for a while “I’ve got it! She shall be called Night Fire” I had a huge grin on my face. Twilight looked over at me with a smile “yes, its perfect baby”
