me against myself

I got to the library before the others could. I looked out the window only to find that they were not there.

'Well looks like they aren't going to be here for a while, might as well read a couple of books.'

'Or you could just trash the place'

"What the . . . I must be imagining things."

I looked around the library to choose a book to read. 'Hmmmm . . . should I read the "history of Equestria" or should I read "Daring do"? Ah to heck with it I'll read both.' I picked up both of the books and began to read beginning with "the history of Equestria"

I was soon lost in the reading that I didn't notice the six mares staring at me blankly. I read all of "the history of Equestria" and had begun on "Daring Do" by the time I noticed them. "Oh. I'm sorry how long have y'all been sitting there?"

"We just got here."

"Wow, anyway to go ahead and get all of this explaining to do in my head. I don't mind if all of y'all go in there, but let me set up some rules before y'all go. 1: Do not read any of the black books unless I tell you that you can 2: If you find a button or switch for any reason in there do not touch it, I don't know what it will do, but I wouldn't be able to stand it if y'all got hurt up there. Alright thats all I have to say, whenever y'all get in there, call my name and I will join you."

I looked around at the mares to find them all nodding. Twilight went to her room only to come out with a dark brown book. "Alright, everypony ready?" They all nodded. I watched as there was a bright flash of light and then a pain in my head.

'Note to self, before letting a pony go into my mind get pain killers' I looked around the room. 'I might as well lay down on the couch in so I don't sleep standing up' I walked over to the couch, laid down on it, and fell to sleep.

IN KYLES BRAIN

Twilight: "Everypony ok?"

Applejack: "I'm fine"

Rarity: "Me too"

Rainbow: "Yea I'm fine"

Fluttershy: "I'm Fine . . . if that ok with you that is."

Pinkie: "Oh I wonder if I'll find any cupcakes in here."

Kyle: "Oh I found you. Anyway 'ahem' Welcome to my brain."

All: "OOOOOOOHhhhhhhhh"

Twilight was jumping up and down with glee, she was in someone else's mind and it looked exactly like a library.

Everypony walked down the halls, each being labeled by a sign.

Twilight: "Hey kyle, do you mind if I look into your memories?"

Kyle: "Go ahead knock yourself out, just remember Don't Read the Black Books."

After that Kyle snapped his fingers and Twilight was in front of the memories section. She galloped down the hallway, only to find that all but two books were black. Twilight went to the two narrow books only to find them labeled "Year one" and "Year two". She just shrugged it off and magically grabbed the books and read through them rather quickly.

Twilight: "Hey kyle."

In a flash kyle was right next to her. Kyle: "What do you need Twilight?"

Twilight: "Why are most of these books black?"

I looked at the books and just sighed. I raised up my right hand and grabbed a book next to "Year two" and put it in color. "Date: September 28, 1992. Time: six in the afternoon." I handed it to Twilight and watched as my memories played a video that I had never forgotten.

September 28, 1992 6:00

I was watching the T.V. with my brother, just flipping through channels to only find the news on.

"Hey brother, do you want to watch the news?" My brother only nodded his head once. I put the remote down on the ground to watch. A couple of seconds later a broadcast comes in.

"This just in a car has crashed on the highway. The driver was found to be John, the father of his two children, Kyle and Bill. It looks that he had lost control of his vehicle and had run into a semi head first. He was killed instantly from the impact. Police are still trying to figure out how he lost control-" I turned off the T.V. I felt the warm tears going down my face and ran to my room only to jump on the bed and cry for the lose of my father.

Back in Kyle's brain

Twilight stood there in shock of what she just saw. After a while she looked at Kyle only to find him starting to cry. She put a hoof on his shoulder.

Twilight: "Is this why you don't want us reading the black books, because they have sorrow and death in them?"

Kyle: "Yes and I would like to keep that to myself. . . . Can you excuse me for a second?"

Twilight: "Sure"

Kyle snapped his fingers and disappeared. I teleported myself to the music section of my brain and reached for "Falling inside the black" from Skillet. I wasn't in the mood for more of Remember Everything. I listened as the music began to play in my brain and then teleported back to Twilight. She was listening to the music by the time I had gotten back.

Kyle: "Hey Twilight."

Twilight: "Hey Kyle, how are you feeling?"

Kyle: "A little better. Listen I'll let you read some more" I stuck out my hand as all the books changed colors. "I put most of my bad memories on black pages so you can't read them." I then teleported away.

Rainbow Dash

I walked towards the adventure and action books. I knew Rainbow Dash would be there, where else would she be. I looked down the hallway and there she was.

Kyle: "looking for something Rainbow Dash?"

Rainbow: "Yea do you have Daring Do?"

Kyle: "Sorry, but I have something that is like it."

Rainbow put a hoof on her chin. Rainbow: "Aw why not, I got nothing else to do."

I blinked and a book appeared in front of me. 'Aw yea, this will have her excited.' It was a book for Indiana Jones. I gave her the book.

Rainbow looked at the book confused "Who is Indiana Jones?"

Kyle: "Lets just say that he is like Daring Do in every way."

She suddenly got excited and opened the book and started to read. I chuckled and closed the book.

Rainbow: "Hey what was that for?"

Kyle: "Why read when you can be in it?"

Rainbow looked at me shocked. "Wait you can put me in the book?"

I chuckled and snapped my fingers. Suddenly we were in a cave with the source of light coming from torches and the opening. 'Oh come on, I put me and rainbow at this part of the story.' I looked at rainbow and then looked behind us. There was a boulder coming right towards us.

Kyle: "RUN"

We ran towards the exit and jumped. I caught a vine while Rainbow just glided in the air. 'Lucky'

The story kept on going and we sere soon finished with it. We went back to the library.

Rainbow: "That was awesome. Did you see the way it looked when we escaped all those bad guys."

Kyle: "Speak for yourself, you kept on trying to use me as a human shield."

Rainbow chuckled "yea sorry for that"

Kyle: "So what are you going to do now?"

Rainbow: "I'm going to read more 'Indiana Jones' Books." and with that she left

Pinkie Pie

I decided that since Rainbow and Twilight were busy that I would check on Pinkie, heck maybe even find out how she is today. I walked to the food section of my mind, only to find it dark.

'Hmmmm, I don't remember it being like this before.'

I closed my eyes and thought of light as the area got lit with a light on what seemed like a endless cord coming from the sky. I looked in the hallway only to find pinkie, my dad, my mother, my brother, and a couple of friends, all enjoying cake.

Kyle: "Um . . . Pinkie . . . how did you get all these people here and how did you get the cake?"

Pinkie: "I was looking through the food section to find recipes for cake only to find this cake called "Cheesecake" and people around it. So I got it out of the book only to have the people come with it, so I started a 'First party in a brain' party"

I looked at the people who only stared at me. My father had that look of happiness, my mother had that look of disgust like she was drunk, like she always is, my brother looked like he just wanted to eat the cake without end, and my friends . . . well . . . they had the look of nothing bad could happen. I walked to my father, a tear began to form under my eye. As I approached him, his smile grew bigger.

Kyle: "D-dad."

"Yes son?"

I couldn't take it anymore, I hugged my father. He just hugged me back with a tear going through his eye.

"My little boy is growing up."

I stepped away and looked at him with a confused look. 'What does he mean by . . . oh wait this is just a memory, like all the other things in here.' I sighed and looked at the ground. I snapped my fingers and everyone disappeared along with the cake.

Pinkie: "Awww where did the party go?"

I didn't even answer, I just turned around and went looking for the other three ponies to check on them.

Fluttershy

I walked through the hallways of my mind, looking down to the ground, with tears on my face dripping down to the ground. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going, but I didn't care. I just kept on thinking back to my old life, all my friends, my supposed family, and everything else. I felt alone now, like I was just thrown in a trash bin, like someone just shot me in the heart, but it didn't kill me. I walked for what seemed like hours, thinking about the past, only to stop by tripping on something that made a "Eep" sound in the process. I got up and looked around. My eyes were still clouded with tears so I wiped them away. I looked at my surroundings again only to find a certain yellow pegesus lying on the ground with her whooves above her head.

Kyle: "What the . . . OH MY GOD, FLUTTERSHY, ARE YOU OK?"

I walked closer to fluttershy to only find her not moving, then again she looked like she wasn't even breathing. I reached out my hand and shook her. Still no response, but I didn't feel fur, I felt morely cotton. I sighed and looked around again, only to find Pinkie and Rainbow lying on the ground laughing. I sighed again and walked away.

'Why do I always feel alone wherever I go.'

Kyle: "Alright time to get out of this place." I snapped my fingers and everypony was right in front of me. "It's time to leave girls."

All: "Awwwww" I closed my eyes as a bright light consumed the area.

                                                         OUTSIDE OF KYLES BRAIN

Everypony apeared in the library only to find Kyle still asleep on the couch. Twilight walked up to him.

Twilight: 'I wonder if . . .' Suddenly Kyles shirt comes off, only to reveal multiple bruses, cuts, and gashes on his chest. Everypony stared at Kyle, with shocked and horrid looks on their faces.

Twilight: " *Sigh* I shouldn't have done that." The shirt was put back on Kyle. Everypony looked at Twilight.

Applejack: "Um . . . Twilight, why did you take off his shirt in the first place?"

Twilight: "You know when I went to go look at his memories?"

Applejack: "Yea"

Twilight: "Well . . . lets just say that he hasn't had a good life. He's been in fights and has been bullied most of his life, most of the injuries coming from his own mother. I wanted to see if he still had injuries. *Looks back at kyle* I just didn't know it would be that bad."

At that moment Kyle woke up. He looked at the ponies to find them all staring at him.

'Why are they all staring at me.'

I looked back at them and then outside. It was still sunny outside.

Twilight: "So, what do you want to do now?"

Kyle: "I think I should meet the other ponies in ponyville before anything else happens, I'm surprised no pony has seen me yet." I walked to the door and opened it.
