Chapters "I will show you to your lockers.", said a Sargent in a red uniform. "Each of your lockers are complete with standard issue EAC assault rifle and armor."
The EAC standard assault rifle, or Type 90 30 mm assault rifle, is a large, grey multipurpose gun. It has three firing modes and two types of ammo. It's three firing modes are single shot, burst, and full auto. The magazine has thirty rounds of both types of ammo. One type is a standard lead bullet, used for killing individuals and/or small groups. The other ammo has a uranium shell, built to over-penetrate while fighting large groups of enemies.
The EAC standard marine corps armor is a bulletproof full body suit. It is made of nutronium. Nutronium as a light metal that partially exists in subspace. It's used for shipbuilding because of it's high resistance to energy attacks.
The platoon made their way to the turbo-lift. section 48 was six hundred feet below the surface of Mars. It was EAC's Hellknight experimentation lab. After twelve minutes of going down, they finally stopped at section 48-A. The platoon stepped into a terrifying atmosphere. Dead scientists riddled the ground, and demonic growth was everywhere.
"Demonic presents at unsafe levels. Lockdown in effect. " said a glitchy computer voice
"I found one of the marines!", shouted Hayseed after a few minutes of wondering around. The marine was an orange earth pony with an opened torso. Most of his intestines were missing and he had bite marks on his ribs.
"Hellknights didn't do this. They don't eat ponies.", stated Dexter. "But section 48 only has Hellknights."
"Then what ate this pony?!", shouted Buckshot, who was quickly loosing his temper. All of the sudden, they hear a low, raspy scream. A Pinky was charging them. (Not a Pinky Pie! I will leave links for imagery of the demons in my notes.) It trampled two marines, killing one of them.
"THAT DID!!!", responded Dexter. Buckshot, who had mastered the art of quick loading the double barrel, started firing. Hayseed finished it by blasting it's back with his twelve gauge.
"Where the hell did that come from?" asked the bulldozed marine.
"I don't know, but here come the Hellknights!" says Buckshot. Two large, black figures with white, eyeless heads were running toward the platoon. One tore the trampled marine in half, while the other one started dancing with Hayseed. Buckshot fired a double blast into the unoccupied Hellknight. It stumbled a little, and tried to smash Buckshot. He dodged quickly, and Dexter unloaded his assault rifle into it. Hayseed had finally stopped toying with his Hellknight, and jumped on it's back and blew it's head off.
"Command, this is platoon G-46.", Hayseed said into his radio. He got static as a response.
"He is here. He must be killed!", said a seep, demonic voice. In a sudden flash of red light, a Baron Of Hell appeared.
"The FUCK no!", shouted Dexter. The Baron Of Hell is the Hellknight's big brother. It's massive, muscular body is quick and strong. Not to mention it can launch pure argent energy at it's targets.
"GET TO THE TURBO-LIFT!!", yelled Buckshot. They ran from the massive demon for a solid four minutes, until hitting a dead end after taking a wrong turn. What was left of the platoon was about to be turned into a pile of gory paste when Buckshot suddenly jumped onto the Baron. He was filled with intense anger and hatred. He crushed the Baron's head after five punches with his bare hooves.
"How the HELL did you do that Buckshot?", asked Hayseed.
"I don't know what came over me.", responded Buckshot.
"Were alive and that's all that matters right now.", said Dexter. "That Baron was not from Mars. It was sent from Hell. Lets get back to main base and report this."

Recon mission to outpost 08
"Tempered by the fires of Hell, his iron will remained steadfast through the passage that preys upon the weak. For he alone was the Hell Walker, the Unchained Predator, who sought retribution in all quarters, dark and light, fire and ice, in the beginning and the end, and he hunted the slaves of Doom with barbarous cruelty; for he passed through the divide as none but demon had before."
That is what Buckshot heard. He felt the heat of the flames around him. His fur was being singed against the hellish fire. He smelt the aromas of smoke and blood. Fear had overwhelmed him. He turned around and saw a green bipedal suit of armor. He felt a connection with this suit, like it was calling to him. He took a step forward, and all the fear transformed into anger. He wanted to release it by killing all living things that he saw, but there were none. all that surrounded him were the burning bodies of his friends and family. He wanted to avenge them. His anger intesified as he got closer to the suit. He was now close enough to touch it. His vision was red with anger. He reached out his hoof to touch it, when his Ponetera alarm woke him up.
It had been two weeks since the fight in sector 48-A. Mars base was on high alert because of the baron breaching from Hell. This meant that the demons were learning how to pass through the subspace portal without being detected. All access to the portal was cut down to Director of Mars base operations Cadence, and heads of the Lazerus project Aurora, and Batruger. Elite EAC Marines were constantly on the lookout for other demons that have managed to make their way onto Mars. Rumors were spreading about plans of the Lazerus project being abandoned. Others believed that the Mars base was going to be abandoned altogether.
Today, Buckshot and his platoon were going on a recon mission out on the surface of Mars. Their job was to make their way to outpost 08 where Dr. Batruger was working at to see if he was alright. A large argent energy serge was detected there, and communications were lost. As Buckshot, Hayseed and Dexter finished eating, they went to the armory to get their EVA suits.
"Something seems just a little off to me.", states Hayseed as he slips into his helmet. "State-of-the-art communications don't just shut off at the first sign of trouble."
"Agreed.", says Buckshot, who was still a little shaken up from his dream.
"What's wrong Buckshot?", asked Dexter.
"Nothing's wrong.", responded Buckshot.
"Yes there is.", said Dexter. "I've known you and Hayseed for most of our lives. "I know when somethings wrong."
"I had another dream.", said Buckshot quietly. "I was in a cavern surrounded by the burning corpses of everyone I loved. A demonic voice was saying something about a Hellwalker. I was overwhelmed with fear. Then I turn around and see a bipedal suit of armor. It calls to me. I start walking towards it and am suddenly filled with anger. The same burning rage I felt when I killed the baron. The closer I get to the armor, the more the rage builds. I'm about to touch it and my sight is clouded red with rage. Then I wake up."
The surface of Mars wasn't pretty, nor was it ugly though. It was just a lot of orange and red. The Mars base, as mentioned in the first chapter, is located in Utopia plainitia, a rocky plain on in the north-west quadrent (or what would be the north-west quadrent if Mars had a magnetic field) of Mars. There are two other Mars bases. There's Schiaparelli Crater Research Center, and Acidalia Plainitia Ship Yards. Outpost 08 is located on a mountain to the south-west of Utopia plainitia.
The platoon's mode of transportation is a Grippin (Grippin, not Griffin) V-12 Rough Terrain Rover, or RTR. The RTR was originally a moon rover, but since the terrain on Mars and the Moon is so similar, and the RTR platform is so easy to modify, they were sent to Mars too.
"Who would ever want to live here?", asked Buckshot as the platoon walked out of the airlock.
"I honestly don't know.", answered Dexter. "The only reason were here is for our jobs." The trio climbed into the RTR and began their trip. This would be a thirty-six hour rover drive, including the stop for the night. So technically, the rover drive is twenty-four hours.
Hours went by and nothing much happened. They weren't expecting much anyways, it is Mars after all. They were just plain bored. Then when Buckshot was laying and staring out the back window in boredom, he saw something that caught his attention. He saw what appeared to be three floating balls in the distance. they quickly disappeared and he waved it off as an illusion created by the abundance of dust and his paranoid state. Another four hours later, he saw them again. This time, he told the rest of the platoon. They agreed with him that it was an illusion and moved on.
All of the sudden, the rover made a loud noise and broke down.
"I'll go look at it.", said Hayseed. Then he started putting on his EVA suit.
"Let me go with you", responded Buckshot.
"I'll try to contact the main base.", said Dexter. A few minutes later, Buckshot was in his EVA suit leaving the airlock.
"Comm check, one-two-three-four-five.", said Buckshot over the radio.
"I read you.", responded Dexter.
"I copy.", said Hayseed. He quickly got started inspecting the rover. Buckshot started helping him.
"I can't reach main base.", said Dexter over comm twenty minutes later. "We're on our own."
"We're finding nothing wrong the rover.", Said Buckshot. "It should be still driving."
"uh... Buckshot.", said Hayseed with some disturbance in his voice. "Remember those floating balls you told us about?"
"Yes?", responded Buckshot worriedly.
"They're back, and they're getting closer.", said Hayseed. "vary fast." The three objects were approaching from the north-east. Hayseed and Buckshot went back into the rover to get their guns. They both loaded their guns and left the rover to combat whatever was approaching. As they get closer, they saw what they were. A pack of cacodemons had been following them. The lead cacodemon spat a acid flame ball at Hayseed. He dodged it quickly, but it grazed his right hind leg.
"AAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!", he screamed.
"GET BACK IN THE ROVER!", shouted buckshot. "I can take it from here." Hayseed quickly limped to the airlock and went inside with a cacodemon hot on his tale. Buckshot was counting on the intense rage to return to kill the cacodemons. He kept dancing with them, but the rage never came.
Fine then. He thought I'll do this myself. He leaped with all his might and shot his double barrel into one cacodemon's eye, it exploded into red mist. The lead cacodemon was closing in to eat Buckshot. He quickly turned and fired. It staggered the floating demon and he went in for the kill. The third cacodemon nipped at Buckshot. He dodged and stuck his gun down it's throat and pulled the trigger. The demon was decimated by the blast.
"HA!" shouted exited Buckshot in celebration. "HOW DO YOU LIKE EIGHTEEN PELLETS OF GO FUCK YOURSELF!!!!"
All of the sudden, the rover started. Buckshot went back inside the rover to continue their trip. Hayseed was in poor condition, but was predicted to recover. He wouldn't be able to get proper medical treatment until they got back to Utopia plainitia though. After about six more hours of driving, the stopped for the night and set up the HAB.

Crossing The Expanse pt 2
The age of his reckoning was uncounted. The scribes carved his name deep in the tablets of Hell across eons, and each battle etched terror in the hearts of the demons. They knew he would come, as he always had, as he always will, to feast on the blood of the wicked. For he alone could draw strength from his fallen foes, and ever his power grew, swift and unrelenting.
Buckshot was back in the cave, but this time it was open. He looked around to see himself surrounded by more flames. Beyond the flames was a empty void of darkness. He noticed that he was a bit tall, so he looked down and saw that he wasn't a pony anymore. He had no fur and no hooves. He had pink skin, and two legs with strange things on the end of them. He raised his front legs to see hands on the end of them. He looked up and saw the suit. He closed his eyes in anger. When he opened them, he was wearing the suit.
Suddenly, the flames started dancing around him. The corpses started rising.
"You can still save us.", they said in a raspy, zombie like voice. "RIP AND TEAR!!!", they chanted over and over again.
"AAAAGGGHHH!!!", he screamed as he woke up. He was in his sleeping bag in the habitat bubble or HAB as the official name. It was great timing because Mouth For War started playing on his alarm. He looked around to see the rest of the platoon staring at him.
"Uhh... sorry.", he said. He got up to have some breakfast. They retracted the HAB and started eating. He told Dexter about his dream while Hayseed drove the rover.
"Sounds like you were a human in your dream.", said Dexter.
"A what?", said confused Buckshot. "A human?"
"Yeah, like from mythology.", responded Dexter. Buckshot stared at him blankly. "Come on!", Dexter exclaimed. "You've never read about the Jumpgates and the beings that are beyond them?"
"I grew up on a farm, what do you expect?", responded Buckshot. "I never read much of anything besides the instruction manuals of our equipment."
"Humans were once an ancient myth. They were fist heard of before the alicorn extinction event." stated Dexter. He took a bite of his eggs and continued. "There are many theories about where they went. And they were recently proven to once existed, or still exist in another realm."
"How?", asked Buckshot.
"Human skeletons were found in hell.", answered Dexter. "And the weird things on the end of your hindquarters are called feet dumbass."
They finished eating and Buckshot took his shift driving. His paranoia was getting worse. He was constantly looking around for other demons, despite knowing that the probability of there being more following that specific rover was astronomically low. Still, he felt something was wrong.
After four hours of driving, It was time for Dexter's shift. Buckshot went back to his spot in the back of the rover where he did some thinking. There's definitely something bigger going on. He thought. The higher ups aren't telling us something important. But no, Princess Cadence isn't secretive enough to do that.
"Dexter, Buckshot, y'all better come take a look at this.", shouted Hayseed. They came to look at whatever Hayseed was making a fuss about. "We just entered sensor range of outpost 08.", he said.
"And...?", responded Buckshot.
"And I'm getting no sensor readings from it at all.", Hayseed said a little concerned. "It's like the outpost isn't even there."
"That is weird.", said Dexter.
"Well, What are you supposed to find?", asked Buckshot.
"About sixty-nine life signs and a small power reactor.", Answered Hayseed.
"Nice!", interrupted Dexter.
"Dexter, you are either the wisest of dragons, or the most immature of assholes.", said Buckshot.
"I'll stay by the sensors and see if anything comes up.", said Hayseed. "I'll try to recalibrate the sensors. See if that helps." Buckshot and Dexter went back to going about their business. Something certainly isn't right. Thought Buckshot. I'm just going to have to wait until we get there to find out what it is what it is.

Lazurus
The group arrived at the outpost. They parked at the airlock hooks for the rovers and got out, Hayseed staying behind with his injury. The base was vary dark and sparks shot out of the ceiling every now and then.
"Looks like something ravaged through here.", said Dexter as he walks to the sliding door that leads out of the docking zone. He tries to move it, but it doesn't budge. "The door is jammed!" he shouts to Buckshot across the room.
"You see," said Buckshot with a grin on his face. "me and Hayseed used to compete with the earth ponies in apple harvesting, and we weren't allowed to use our magic." Buckshot walks up to the door and pounds it with his hind legs. Sure enough, the door goes and the two are able to walk through. "Apple bucking took a lot of strength.", he says with a smirk. This smile was quickly extinguished when he saw the inside of the outpost.
Fleshy hell growth was everywhere. There was no sign of the ponies that worked there accept the mass amounts of blood on the floor. There was a faint red light coming from deeper in the outpost. As they got closer to it, the first corpse was found. Chanting was heard coming from the direction of the light and Dexter could see Buckshot swiping at his hears as if they were in pain. Buckshot saw flashes of the cave and the armor. He heard screaming and saw a symbol that caused him pain when it appeared. He came out of his fit with Dexter crouched by him.
"I'm okay", he says as he gets up. They walk closer to the light without Buckshot getting any more flashes.
"I feel like we're being watched.", said Dexter with his rifle up. The chanting gets louder as they get further into the outpost. Buckshot hears something scurry behind them and turns to shoot, but nothing was there. He reloads his double barrel with a quiver of fear. They continue slowly to the light and hear more scurrying around them.
Corpse number two was found, but it looked less fresh then the first. As if all the life had been drained from it. Buckshot takes a minute to examine the body. It rises and attacks Buckshot. Dexter quickly puts a bullet in it's skull.
"Zombies?!?!", He shouts. "Why zombies?!?! Why not goblins, or vampires?"
"Not zombies.", responds Buckshot. "Possessed. Corpses with demonic entities controlling them."
"And you know this how?", asks Dexter.
"No fucking clue.", answers Buckshot. He thinks for a moment. "Not much better then zombies I guess.", he says.
"Not at all.", responds shivering Dexter.
They finally arrive at the light, seeming to be deeper in the outpost then the outpost is supposed to go. The light is emitting from the center of a blood pentagram surrounded by more possessed chanting something satanic. In front of the light is a smiling Dr. Batruger.
"You're too late!", he says to Buckshot and Dexter. "I have already opened the first gate to Hell." He is engulfed in argent energy. The energy dissipates to reveal a white human male in his early fifties. He was slightly bald and a little chubby. The chanting gets louder. "YOU CAN'T STOP ME!", he shouts over the noise. "JOHN CANE LET ME ESCAPE, AND SO WILL YOU!!!"
Suddenly, a large hooked spike comes through the light and impales Batruger. Another comes and slices his head in half and he is pulled in. The eyes of the possessed glow red and they turn to look at Buckshot. They walk slowly towards him ignoring Dexter entirely. Buckshot started to see flashes of the Symbol again. He screams in pain as the possessed walk slowly in his direction.
The pain suddenly stops and his eyes also glow red. He bares his teeth in anger. He sprints toward the possessed at full speed and punches the first one so hard, it explodes on impact.
"KAR EN TUK!!!!", he shouts as he rampages through the red mist. Dexter watched in awe as he sees his lifelong friend destroy all the possessed with ease. Two pinkies come through the light, but are quickly attacked by Buckshot. He gets behind one and blasts it's back with his double barrel. He then sees the other one sprinting toward Dexter, who seemed to be in a trance. With even more anger then before, Buckshot runs to the pinkie with supernatural speed and spatters it with his hoof.
The light goes out and Buckshot exits his rage episode. He looks at Dexter who was still staring off into space.
"Dexter!", shouts Buckshot. Dexter does not respond. Lazurus waves rippled through his eyes. Buckshot lightly smacks him with his hoof. "GOD DAMMIT YOU LAZY FUCKING DRAGON!!", he shouts.
"Outpost! Dr. Batruger! Zombies!", Dexter franticly says as he comes out of the Lazurus wave. "Buckshot what happened to me?", he asks.
"You were consumed by the Lazurus waves.", Buckshot responds. "I managed to get you out before you were possessed."
"You mean, I would have become one of those?", asks Dexter pointing to one of the possessed lying dead on the floor.
"Yes.", replies Buckshot. "And we need to get back to the rover to see if Hayseed is okay. And then get back to Utopia Planitia as quickly as possible." They run back to the rover through the door that Buckshot busted down and through the airlock.
"What in the holy fuck happened in there?", asks Hayseed. "There was a massive sensor spike and then the rover powered down. I just about froze to death when I finally got the power back on."
"We need to get back to base right now", says buckshot franticly. "We'll tell you what happened on the way back."
"So let me get this straight.", says Hayseed with a puzzled look on his face. "Dr. Batrugar was a human from another realm and wanted to open the gates of Hell?" Buckshot nods. "This raises a lot more questions then answers.", Hayseed says from his bed. "Like, where is he from, why open the gates to the most horrible place in the multiverse, and does Dr. Aurora know of this."
"Indeed." says Buckshot. "The opening of the first gate is probably how the Baron was able to come through to Sector 48 freely, instead of through the main portal."
"The cacodemons too." responds Hayseed. "I'm more concerned right now with who else is in this cult."
"We should assume that Dr. Aurora Foul is in on it, and maybe Cadence too." said Buckshot. He get's up and walk's to Dexter. "How long will it take to get back to Utopia Planitia?", he asks.
"At least two days.", responds Dexter.
"Two DAYS?!", Buckshot says in a frustrated voice. "The base could be destroyed in two days."
"If I could go faster I would.", says Dexter.
"Two more days of the middle of fucking nowhere.", Buckshot says with disappointment in his eyes. "Two more days until we can get off this planet. Two more days of-"
"Yeah we get the point.", says Hayseed. "Now stop being a pussy, because pussies won't survive out here."
The rover chugs slowly through the vast martian expanse kicking red dust behind it. Buckshot and Dexter take turns driving, Buckshot taking longer shifts to help keep him awake. Hayseed mostly slept. He need to so he could heal faster.
When not driving, Buckshot would lay in his corner in the back of the rover contemplating existence. He thought of Cadence's involvement in this, and weather or not she's a member of this new cult. He saw it not unlikely that she started it as long ago as the beginning of the Lazurus project, she being the one who looked into satanic culture.
The rover suddenly stops. Smoke can be seen from Buckshot's window. He heard Dexter cuss at the steering wheel.
"I'll go check it out.", he says. He gets up and walks over to the airlock. He puts on his EVA suit and leaves the airlock. The rover looked like it had been attacked, though such a thing had never happened. He walks to the back of the rover where he saw the smoke through the window. When he got there, it looked like an acid of some sort had melted through the engine compartment. He opened the compartment hatch and saw that the engine was completely destroyed.
"Hayseed,", he began over the comm. "Did anything happen other then the power outage in the rover while we were gone? Anything with acid by any chance?"
"No.", responds Hayseed. "I'm sure of it."
A glob of glowing green acid flew by Buckshot's face. A faint screeching noise was heard through the thin Martian atmosphere. Buckshot turned his head to see a demon not yet seen by the EAC. It was roughly the size of a pony, bore wings, had a split jaw, and what looked like blades the end of it's arms. It shot another acid ball at Buckshot, who dodges quickly.
"I think I found the cause of the breakdown.", he says as he jumps around to avoid being melted.
"Care to tell up what it is?", asks Dexter.
"Look out the window jackass.", shouts Buckshot.
"Lord what's up your ass?", says Dexter as he walks to the window. He sees Buckshot's situation. "Oh..." Dexter runs to the Airlock to grab his rifle and EVA suit. He begins the decompression cycle, but the power suddenly cuts out. The decompression cycle is cut and Dexter is stuck in the Airlock. "Hayseed the power's out and I'm stuck in the airlock.", he says over the comm.
Outside, Buckshot is still dancing with the demon, hearing Dexter's predicament. He know that he has the ability to, so he goes on the offensive and attacks the demon. He jumps onto the demon, that he now called a Gargoyle in his head, and starts punching it's face as hard as he can. He realizes his mistake as his punches do nothing. He finds himself under the gargoyle. He wrestles with it for about five seconds, but the gargoyle overpowers Buckshot and stabs him.
In the rover, Hayseed was limping to the back of it. He had to get the power back online to get Dexter out of the airlock. He opened the hatch to the power systems by Buckshot's window and saw that the battery was corroded. He had to replace it. this was no small task, especially for someone injured like Hayseed. The battery is an argent power cell. It's a good three feet tall and sixty pounds. Hayseed couldn't use his magic, because the argent energy would react with it and explode. And the spares were all the way by the airlock.
Hayseed heard Buckshot screaming over the comm as he got stabbed. He quickly limps over to the airlock to grab the oversized power cell. he opens the hatch for the spares and grabs the handle with his mouth. he pulls it out and drags for a full forty seconds over the ten feet to get to Buckshot's window (I forgot to mention how damn big the rover was in chapter four). He removes the old cell, corroded by acid like the engine. He lifts the new cell with all his strength and manages to attach it to the power systems.
The rover regains power and Dexter is able to exit the airlock. He fires his assault rifle at the gargoyle and kills it.
"Buckshot!", he shouts as he runs over to the his friend laying on the Martian surface. Buckshot was unconscious, having lost a lot of blood and his EVA suit being breeched, letting it decompress. Dexter quickly got him back to the rover and got him on life support. He wakes up four hours later.
"How long was I out?", he asks.
"Four hours.", replies Hayseed. "You lost a stupid amount of blood and was exposed to the Martian atmosphere."
"How am I alive?", asks Buckshot.
"I have no clue.", Hayseed answers.
"How's the rover?", says Buckshot, continuing to quickfire questions.
"The engine is damaged beyond repair.", says Hayseed. "We're stranded."

Gargoyle (Doom Eternal) | Doom Wiki | Fandom
Buckshot stares blankly at his brother for a moment. He then rolls over and screams into his pillow. He screams for ten minutes straight. Hayseed and Dexter could do nothing but stare. He then got up and walked over to the food compartment and grabbed some cookies. He sits at the small table and angrily eats them.
"I can't believe it.", he says with a mouth full. "We're gonna die out here and not even by the demons.
"Oh quit your bitching.", Hayseed says. "I have no intention of dying."
"And I suppose we wait here for our fairy god mother to save us.", shouts Buckshot. The brothers stare at each other for a moment. Dexter brakes the silence by walking up to the table and eating a cookie.
"Ok assholes, lets all discuss this over cookies shall we?", he says. Buckshot stares at him for a minute and grabs a cookie.
"Ok, I had my tantrum, I'll listen now.", he says. Hayseed walks over to the table, but doesn't sit.
"I actually have an idea for getting us back.", says Dexter.
"Is it making an engine appear out of fucking nowhere?", asks Hayseed, still a little grumpy from Buckshot's fairy comment.
"Oh God I know what it is.", says Buckshot with a quivery voice.
"We walk.", says Dexter.
"ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND?!?!?", shouts Hayseed.
"Yes.", replies Dexter."
"GOD DAMMIT.", Hayseed shouts again.
"It could work.", says Buckshot. "We have plenty of oxygen."
"ARE YOU SERIOUSLY GOING ALONG WITH THIS RETARDED IDEA?", Hayseed asks Buckshot.
"It's better then your fairy godmother.", Buckshot said with the intent of triggering his brother even more. Hayseed looked like he was about to pop. "It's funny how you and I switched places in this matter.", said Buckshot. "How I was the pessimist and now you are." Hayseed calms down a little.
"So even though we have plenty of oxygen, how will we solve the food and water problem?", he asks.
"We're close enough to the base that we won't have to worry about that.", says Dexter. "About a days walk."
"I don't see we have any other option.", says Buckshot. Dexter and Buckshot stare at Hayseed.
"Ahhh fuck it.", he says. "We got to get back somehow."
They finish the cookies and drink some water to prepare for the trip. They fill their O2 tanks and put on their EVA suits. Buckshot's spare EVA suit detects his injury and seals the wounds with bio foam. Same with Hayseed. Dexter grabs spare O2 tanks and they leave the airlock. They had a days walk ahead of them. They had to hope that nothing went wrong. If the suits heating systems broke one of them would freeze to death, if a suit ripped one of them would suffocate and maybe explode (defending on how full their lungs were). If everything went right, they would make it.
They begin walking in the direction of Utopia Planitia. The barren desert of Mars stretched across the horizon. Buckshot's stab wounds burn with every step. He does more thinking about the situation. I wonder what the state of the base is. , he thinks. Is the military holding up? Has it been evacuated? Is it destroyed entirely? His thoughts go on and on. Dexter occupies himself with looking for any demons.
"I miss home.", says Hayseed. "I miss when all we had to worry about was the next harvest. But some fuckers just had to destroy out life."
"Yeah.", says Buckshot. An anger fills him, not the rage though. "How can people be so evil?", he says. "Like Dr. Batruger."
A big black cloud appears over the horizon in the direction of the base. As they walk further, they see a gigantic spiral over the argent tower.
Buckshot begins to have another episode. He has flashes of the cave and the symbol. This goes on for a while, but then stops. The walking continues. As they get closer, they see cacodemons flying willy nilly around the base. Imps climb the buildings.
"Look!", shouts Dexter. "The barracks are gone." They look to the direction of the barracks and see that the building had been reduced to rubble.
"There goes any plan for resupply.", says Buckshot. "We'll have to escape with what we have."
"Should we do an ammo count?", asks Hayseed.
"Yeah.", said Buckshot. "I got twenty-four shells."
"Six full mags.", reports Dexter.
"Seven,", says Hayseed. "but I do know a couple spells to resort to in case we run out of ammo."
"Any of them happen to be an ammo duplication spell?", Buckshot asks jokingly.
"Nah.", said Hayseed taking the question seriously. "I just know a sleeping spell and one called sacred flame."
Suddenly Buckshot feels an excruciating pain. Dexter and Hayseed see him suddenly jerk up and the inside of his EVA suit glow red. He screams in pain and jerks around. He screamed so hard that blood started to hit his visor. He again saw the cave flashing. He saw the armor and the symbol. He felt like his soul was on fire. He screamed some more and then fell to the ground unconscious.
William Joseph "BJ" Blazkowicz III had a bizarre past. His father was the one and only Commander Keen and his great grandfather was the BJ Blazkawicz that lead the American resistance against the Nazis in the 1990s. He enlisted in the UAC marine corps in 2011. He had a good career, until he was told to fire upon civilians. So instead of firing, he puts his gun down and beats his commanding officer to death for ordering such a thing. The UAC didn't like this, so in 2015, they put him on Mars facility of teleportation research for punishment.
The year was 2019. William Blazkowicz III had been on Mars for four years. He questioned ever seeing his wife and son ever again, but some hope lingered in the back of his mind. His brother Henry and best friend Dexter had recently been stationed on Mars with him, so he was a little less miserable. Henry lived on a farm with their mom, and Dexter lived in the neighboring city of Tulsa Oklahoma.
He felt something different about today. He didn't know why, but he did. he felt like something important was to happen today. He went down to meet his brother at the training facility. There were punching bags and shooting ranges. He found Henry with a UAC 40 cal. power rifle at the sniper range.
"You asked for me?", he says.
"Yeah I did.", said Henry.
"Care to tell me why?", asks William. Henry gestures to a handgun up on the wall.
"I fixed it.", he says. William walks over to the wall and grabs the gun. It was a 45. ACP that he got for his sixteenth birthday. His first gun. It had a brown wood finish with "BJ" engraved on the side. William's eyes light up. He hadn't seen this gun since he left Earth. He had no idea that Henry was fixing it.
"Wow...", he says. "I don't know what to say."
"And this is why I do nice things.", said Henry satisfyingly. he then shot another round from his massive rifle. "What time is it?", he asks.
"About 1400 hours.", answers William.
"Oh shit!", exclaimed Henry. "That's why I'm so hungry."
"You haven't eaten yet?", asks William.
"Nope.", says Henry.
"I haven't either and Dexter's in the mess hall right now.", says William. They leave the armed forces section of the Mars base and make their way to the recreation facility. In the halls, they pass Dr. Batrugar, head of teleportation research. They reach the mess hall and see Dexter sitting at one of the tables talking to another marine. He looks up and seed the Blazkowicz brothers approaching him.
"About time you fucks arrived.", he jokingly says. They sit down across from next to Dexter and the new marine. "BJ have you ever even tried to talk to anyone else here?" Dexter asks.
"No.", answers William. "Depression forbids me."
"Well I'm going to get some more food and I want you to talk to this nice gentleman.", says Dexter. "and Henry is coming with me."
"I am?", asks Henry. The other marine smiles and makes a gesture as if he was eating popcorn.
"Come ON Henry.", says Dexter.
"Alright.", says confused Henry. They walk away toward the cafeteria line, leaving William alone with this stranger.
"I know Dex is watching us so I might as well talk.", says William. "I'm William J. Blazkawicz III, but you can call me BJ."
"Well BJ, I'm John Cane.", the stranger says. "Pleasure to meet you."
"And you too.", William responds. "So... you a big reader?"
"I love horror.", John responds.
"Oh I'm into mystery.", Says William.
"Would the remaining members of platoon G-46 please report to the launch bay.", said a voice on a load speaker.
"Well, I guess I have to go to the launch bay.", says William.
"I have to go to the command for orders anyway.", responds John. "Something about a scientist locking himself in a decommissioned communications site."
"Maybe talk to you later?", says William.
"Sure.", responds John.
William meets Dexter and Henry at the lift going up a massive elevator shaft to the launch bay. They stand in silence as they go up. The lift stops and the door opens. They come out in a large room full with two large personnel transports. At the far side of the room, there is a control center for the hangar, and beyond that is another hangar. They walk across the hanger to the control center is. In there is their division commander.
"About time.", he says as the group enters the room. "I know you feel rushed so I might as well skip greetings and get to the point." The group nods in unison. "We have received a distress call from the Phobos base saying that there was an error in the teleportation grid and something had come through it. We then lost contact." Henry got a strange look on his face. "Shortly after, Deimos and everything on it disappeared. You are to go to Phobos and find out what happened and evacuate the base if necessary. There are supplies on transport 0992, and you can take that transport when your ready." The commander paused for a moment. "Dismissed.", he finally said.
The group goes to transport 0992 without delay. Henry takes his shotgun off his back. Like William and his 45. ACP, this shotgun was special to Henry. He used to go goose hunting with it when he as a teenager. he grabbed some shells out of the ammo box and put them in his belt. Dexter went to the cockpit and began the startup sequence. The hangar doors opened and the transport lifted off.
The flight to Phobos goes smoothly. As they fly near the base, Dexter sees columns of smoke emanate from the buildings. They land safely at the hangar and close the blast doors remotely. The transport door opens up and the three walk out. A strange smell fills the air.
"Someone needs to stay by the ship.", says Dexter.
"I'll do it.", responds William. "Go into the control room and we'll do a comm check."
"Sounds good.", says Henry. Dexter and Henry go to the control room and shut the powerless sliding door.
"Radio check, one two three four five.", says Dexter over the comm.
"I copy.", says William. "So what's the plan?"
"We'll make our way to the elevator shaft and attempt to climb down it.", says Dexter.
"Roger that.", responds William. Henry and Dexter force open another sliding door and go through.
"What the fuck is this?", asks Henry. "It looks like the walls are growing flesh."
"There is blood everywhere, but no bodies.", says Dexter. William hears something scurry around the hangar.
"Something is in here with me.", he says. "Something is definitely off here. Like defying reality off."
"Agreed.", responds Henry. Dexter and Henry move in to the next room. "Here's the elevator.", says Henry. They get to work on getting it open.
In the hangar, William heard the scurrying again. He drew his pistol and looked around. He then hears banging on a door. He hurries over to open it.
"I may have a survivor.", he says. He forces the door open and someone bursts out. "Are you alright?", he asks. The survivor doesn't answer. He stares at William for a moment. He then raises his gun and points it at William. He pulls the trigger, but William is able to move out of the way and shoot back. He shoots it twice in the heart, but it doesn't fall. William shoots it's head and it dies. "What the hell?!?", William says. he walks back to the ship.
"We heard shots.", says Dexter. "What happened?"
"A survivor shot at me.", responds William. "I had to kill him."
"Wait.", says Henry. "I heard something."
"WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?!?!", shouts Dexter. William hears shooting from the elevator room. The BOOM click click of Henry's shotgun. The radio is now just static white noise. The shooting stops.
"Henry, Dexter, can you hear me?", William asks over the radio. There was no response. William filled with fear and ran up to the control room. he ran through the open doors and into the elevator room. He froze. He saw Dexter and Henry hanging from the ceiling on hooks. Dexter's bottom half was missing and Henry's head was disfigured beyond recognition. William fell to his knees and cried. He stopped when he heard the scurrying again. He was suddenly filled with an anger unlike anything he had felt before. He grabbed his brother's shotgun and looked around.
A hideous creature roughly the size of a human came out from the shadows. William charged at it and blasted it's leg out. He then grabbed it's head and held it up to his.
"Rip and tear.", he says before crushing it.
Buckshot's eyes shoot open. He finds himself in a bed in the Mars base medical bay. He gets up and sees Princess Cadence looking at him.
"Nice to finally see you up.", she says.
Author's Note
Disclamer: Henry and Dexter are not cannon characters in the DOOM franchise. I pulled them out of my ass, as well as the Blazkowicz family being from a farm outside of Tulsa.
Also, if you're unaware, John Cane is the protagonist of DOOM 3.
The discovery/A plan for escape
Buckshot looked at Cadence as if he wanted to cut her open and eat her intestines. Cadence looked back knowing he wouldn't do anything.
"You feel good enough to walk?", she asks.
"I feel good enough to do more then that.", says Buckshot gritting his teeth.
"I had no knowledge of this.", she says defensively. "You should come. Your bother and other survivors are waiting on us."
"What about Dexter.", Buckshot franticly says.
"He's fine.", she responds. "Now let's go." Cadence takes Buckshot to her office where eleven survivors including Hayseed and Dexter are waiting." They begin walking.
"So you're not in this cult.", says Buckshot.
"No no no.", responds Cadence. "I freaked out and hid under my desk when the wave hit."
"Wow.", said Buckshot. "I never guessed that you of all people would do that." Cadence laughs.
"I'm the princess of love, not bravery.", she says. "Luna's a lot better then me at this, cause she has the nightmare moon form that she can take control of."
"I have a question for you.", says Buckshot.
"Fire away.", responds Cadence.
"Did you know that Batrugar was human?", he asks. Cadence starts looking less light hearted.
"Yes.", she responds. "How did you find out?"
"He was at outpost 08 like he was supposed to be, but he had let the demons through and opened the second gate to Hell.", answers Buckshot.
"So he was also a cult member.", she says. "He had brought so many advancements to pony kind."
"How?", asks Buckshot.
"He brought human culture here.", she responds. "We got things like fire arms from it."
"Huh?", says Buckshot.
"Why do you think guns are designed for fingers and not hooves?", she asks. "We can't find a way to make the trigger mechanism compatible with hooves."
"Wow, I thought they were just manufactured by the dragons.", says Buckshot.
"Nope, they're of human origin.", she responds.
"So is this place safe?", asks Buckshot, changing the subject.
"This place is on total lockdown.", Cadence says confidently. "Nothing shot of a titan will break through." They enter a through a sliding door and into Cadence's office. A large number of survivors including Hayseed and Dexter were there sitting in chairs eating rations. Buckshot takes a seat next to them. Cadence sits at her desk in front of all the survivors.
"May I have your attention please.", she says. All the survivors turn their heads toward Cadence. "I regret to inform that this refuge will not last forever.", she says with a frown. "We will eventually have to get off of Mars. I do have a plan though." some of the ponies looked at each other in fear of leaving the stronghold. "I have got in contact with the Phobos base and they haven't been attacked. So you will get to the hangar, and get to Phobos, and I'll go stop Aurora from opening the final gate. Any questions?" No hooves are raised. "Great. Now go get ready, we leave tomorrow" Everyone looks at the princess like she had lost her mind. Buckshot thought that she vary well had. Everyone gets up and goes to get ready, but Buckshot stays.
"I do have one more question.", he says.
"Mhm", says Cadence.
"I have dreams of being in a cave surrounded by flames. All my friends are dead around me and sometimes there's this suit of armor. A deep scary voice will speak."
"Their probably just dreams.", says Cadence.
"It doesn't stop there though.", responds Buckshot. "I have visions of the same place and of this symbol in demonic presence."
"Can you describe or draw this symbol?", asks Cadence. Buckshot looks around. He then gets up and walks to the bookshelf. He points to a book that had the exact symbol on it's spine. Cadence's eyes widen. "A-a-are you sure that's the symbol?", she asks. Buckshot nods. "H-have you had any rage episodes against the demons?", she asks. Buckshot nods again. "You're not bullshitting me are you?", she asks.
"NO!", shouts Buckshot. "What's happening with me?!?!"
"Ok stay calm.", Cadence whispers to herself. She walks to a mechanical container behind her desk and scans her eye. The cylinder container opens and she pulls out what looks like the hilt to a broken sword. "Take tis and you will know everything.", she says. He instinctively grabs it with his mouth.
His eyes glow red and he screams in pain. He sees someone else's memory flash before his eyes. He then finds himself back in the cave, But it's vary different. There are no flames and corpses of his lived ones. Instead, there were humanoid soldiers with spears tipped with blue plasma and white medieval looking armor. The green suit of armor was still there.
"I want to know!", he shouts. The soldiers pound the bottom of their spears on the ground and the symbol glows on the ground underneath him.
"In the first age, in the first battle, when the shadows first lengthened, one stood. Burned by the embers of Armageddon, his soul blistered by the fires of Hell and tainted beyond ascension, he chose the path of perpetual torment. In his ravenous hatred, he found no peace, and with boiling blood he scoured the Umbral Plains seeking vengeance against the dark lords who had wronged him. He wore the crown of the Night Sentinels, and those that tasted the bite of his sword named him... the Doom Slayer."
Buckshot came out of his vision breathing heavily. He looked around as if confused.
"I remember everything.", he says between breaths. "I remember Henry and the Phobos anomaly. I remember failing to save humanity. I remember my second chance, killing Devoth. I remember all of it."
Cadence could do nothing but listen. She just stood there in awe that she was in the presence of the bane of hell itself. Buckshot then looked at Cadence with complete confusion.
"If I killed Devoth, then how are there demons on Mars?", he asks. Cadence then snaps out of her trance and walks over to the bookshelf. She grabs the book with the mark of the Primeval (the Slayer's mark), and opens it.
"At the end of this book, there is something about the Dark Lord being reincarnated.", she says. "Like you."
"And who are our possibilities?", asks Buckshot.
"Maybe our cult leader.", answers Cadence.
"Not an unlikely guess.", responds Buckshot. "But I'm going to stop her. You take the survivors to Phobos."
"Then take some other marines with you.", says Cadence. "They'll show you the way to the argent tower." Buckshot nods. "And I have your old body, you're old shotgun, as well as the Praetor Suit and a copy of it designed for ponies.", she says.
"You happen to have maybe a BFG 9000?", asks Buckshot. Cadence smiles.
"I thought you'd never ask."

Sorry for not posting in a couple months, I've been on vacation back to America to escape the hell that is Germany.
The Preparation
Buckshot now had the Undesirable job of telling his brother and best friend about his discovery. He asked Cadence to do it, but she wanted to stay out of something this personal. He had no clue how they would react to finding out that he was the Destroyer of Hell, the DOOM Slayer, or how they would feel about him staying behind to stop Aurora. He himself felt scared. He felt like he had two people in his head, and in a manner of speaking he did. The memories of both Buckshot Blast, and William Blazkawicz III. He was happy to finally understand though.
He walked from his room in the stronghold to Cadence's office where there was food. He sat in the chair by where Hayseed and Dexter usually sat. He looked around to see all the other ponies talking to each other. He waited for a few minutes and his companions eventually showed up for food. They came and sat next to Buckshot.
"Hey!", said Dexter. "We haven't seen you since the announcement of escape last night. Is there something wrong?"
"Having the nightmares again?", asked Hayseed.
"As a matter of fact, I do have something to tell you guys.", Buckshot finally responded. "Last night, when I stayed behind to talk to Cadence, we discovered something." He paused for a moment.
"Yes, go on...", Hayseed said impatiently.
"It had to do with my visions and rage.", said Buckshot, not exited to tell them. Hayseed and Dexter's eyes widened. "So, ass it turns out..." Buckshot was dreading this. "I'm the DOOM Slayer."
Hayseed had a confused look on his face, but Dexter, who was well educated on ancient legend and lore, got even wider eyes.
"The what now?", asks Hayseed.
"Don't worry Hayseed,", says Dexter. "He's full of shit."
"To be more exact, I'm the reincarnation of the DOOM Slayer.", said Buckshot. "If you don't believe me, ask Cadence."
"I still have no fuckin' clue what you're talking about.", says Hayseed.
"The DOOM Slayer is a Human who had everything taken from him by the demons.", said Dexter. "He became a being of pure rage and hatred. The demons came to fear him, as he spent years upon years doing nothing but killing them."
"That's not entirely true.", said Buckshot. "I didn't become a demigod until Samur Maykr put me though the Divinity machine. After that, I was unstoppable."
"So you're really not lying to us?", asked Dexter.
"Like I said, you can go ask Cadence.", said Buckshot. "And she'll tell you that I will stay behind and stop Aurora now that I have my memories and control of my power."
"Wow.", said Hayseed. Dexter simply stared. He was overwhelmed with questions that he could ask.
Buckshot was filled with relief. He'd expected this go much worse. He was actually a little bit amused by their reactions. Especially Dexter's dumbfounded-ness. He gets up and grabs a crappy hayburger and some decent fries. He sits back down and starts munching.
"So am I the only one concerned about Buckshot staying behind?", asks Hayseed through bites of his food.
"If what he says is true,", started Dexter, snapping out of his mind palace of questions. "then our survival is virtually insured."
"Wow.", said Hayseed. "My brother's a superhero." Buckshot laughs.
"I'm surprised that you're taking it this well.", he says.
"What'd you expect?", asks Dexter
"Well,", starts Buckshot. "for you to react badly to the fact that I'm... Never mind."
"Are you still Buckshot?", asks Hayseed with a smirk.
"Yes.", responds Buckshot.
"Then why should we be upset?", says Hayseed.
Cadence walks through the door and stands in front of everyone. She had bags under her eyes and coffee stains on her uniform. She stood there for a second before finally blinking repeatedly. She quickly fixed her posture and tried to put on a not exhausted look on her face. She had been up all night mentally preparing herself for leaving. She put on a face of bravery but she was terrified. She had never been in a situation and desperate, and she was about to leave the only place on this planet that's safe.
"I hope you're all ready to leave.", she says. "In one hours, we leave the stronghold and risk everything for escape." She swallowed her fear and kept talking. "Buckshot Blast and a group of my elite troopers will stay behind and stop the cultist Aurora Foul from getting to the tower and opening the final gate to Hell.", she continued, "If anyone else wants to stay behind behind and help, please say so now.
Buckshot gave Hayseed and Dexter a look that said "You better fucking not". There was silence for a moment.
"Okay then...", says Cadence. "Like I said , we leave in an hours." She walks away through the sliding door she came in. The room went back to the white noise of dozens of ponies talking over each other. Dexter and Hayseed looked at Buckshot unison.
"We should go with you.", says Hayseed.
"The FUCK no!", responds Buckshot.
"Why not?", Hayseed asks.
"We're going to the heart of the invasion, that's where the most and biggest demons are.", answers Buckshot.
"But we have you.", Hayseed argues.
"I can't just do anything I put my mind to, and I'm not particularly good at fighting alongside others and keeping them alive.", says Buckshot.
"But the elite troopers are going with you.", Hayseed argues further.
"Cadence told me about them, they're robots controlled by A.I.", Buckshot says. "You're not going with me and that's final." Hayseed looked at Buckshot as if to pout.
"C'mon Dexter,", he says with a snarky, unserious tone. "Buckshot is being a bit dense."
"Oh whatever.", says Buckshot rolling his eyes. Hayseed prances away like a angry child and sat three feet away. They all burst into laughter.
"You are the only being in the multiverse that can go from debating about risking your life to being funny so quickly.", says Dexter.
"What can I say?", responds Hayseed. "It's one of my talents."
"Well I guess we better get ready.", says Buckshot. "You're going to Phobos and I'm going to stop Aurora."
"Yeah, I guess.", Says Dexter. They all go to their rooms.
Buckshot turns on "One", by Maretallica and stares in the mirror. He stands thare for about five minutes before sighing and walking to his bed. He turns his music off and starts crying in his pillow.
A knock came onto Buckshot's door. He didn't really care. He was trying to sort out everything in his mind. He didn't remember dying as the DOOM Slayer. He also wondered how he and Devoth were reincarnated. The knock came again.
"Go away guys.", he shouts through the door. "I don't feel like talking right now."
"It's Cadence", comes through the door. "You've been in there crying for an hour, it's time to go."
"OH SHIT!", Buckshot shouts as he jumps out of bed. He opens the door to see a less tires Cadence standing in the doorway. They begin to walk down the hall and chat.
"I trust that you're ready to go.", Cadence says trying to be formal again.
"Of course I'm ready, but I want to know how you knew I was crying.", Buckshot responds aggressively.
"Well...", Cadence starts.
"Go on, spit it out.", says Buckshot.
"I put a camera in your room.", she finishes.
"You WHAT?!?!", shouts Buckshot.
"You had just learnt that you're the most powerful being in the fucking multiverse!", Cadence argues. "I Didn't know How you'd react." Buckshot calms down and hangs his head.
"Everyone on earth walked on eggshells around me, and now it's happening here.", he says.
"I just..., I'm sorry.", Cadence responds. Buckshot sighs.
"It's fine.", he says calmly. "But please understand that I'm not a mindless killing machine that smites everyone I don't like."
"Okay.", says Cadence. They continue down the corridor to the hangar. They enter a ship bay simular to the one Buckshot saw in his Phobos dream. It was filled with the other survivors that made it to the stronghold. They were standing in front of the landing platform that the troop transport would land on.
The big door on top opens up and a large ship descends through the forcefield keeping the air in the hangar. It fires it's machine guns at several demons attempting to take advantage of the open doors. It descends for another moment before touching down on the platform in front of all the survivors. The door on the ship opens to reveal a yellow stallion wearing green armor.
"Get on, the demons will soon overrun us!", he shouts. The survivors quickly start to board the transport.
"Cadence!", buckshot shouts as she's about to board. She turns around and walks over to him. "I need a favor."
"Go on.", she says.
"I need you to tell Hayseed and Dexter not to tell anyone that I'm the DOOM Slayer.", he responds. "And that goes for you too."
"Are you sure?", asks Cadence.
"I can't live like I did in the other Earth.", Buckshot says.
"We gotta' go!", the stallion shouts again.
"I'll see you on the other side.", shouts Cadence as she trots to the transport. The door closes and the ship begins its takeoff. The hangar doors close, crushing a unfortunate pain elemental trying to get in. Buckshot stares at the gore that fell in front of him and walks away.
"Pain elementals are smaller then I remember.", he mutters to himself as he goes to the activate the AI troopers in Cadence's office. He walks up to the control panel behind her desk and presses his hoof to it.
"Access granted.", a computer voice said. Cadence had given him security access the night before. He input a few more commands into the control pad and the troopers came to life.
"Awaiting command.", They said in unison. They were tall robotic ponies, one white one black, both had glowing blue eyes. Buckshot looked at the control pad to see all the command codes.
"Emergency code 12665.", he said.
"Affirmative.", they both respond. Buckshot looks at the control pad for another second.
"Update objective, guide to Slayer's artifacts.", he commands.
"Object of interest is under restricted access. To continue, you must verify security clearance.", they say. Buckshot facehooves. HE had hoped it wouldn't come to this.
"Security code 69420.", he says driving his hooves through his eyes.
"Security clearance accepted.", they both say. "Requesting time of execution."
"Ten minutes from now.", he says.
"Order confirmed.", the troopers say nodding. Buckshot runs to his room to get his guns and armor. Why didn't I do this before they left? , he thinks to himself as he rushes to get his armor on. He grabs and loads his shotgun and straps his assault rifle to his side. He runs back to the office and stops in front of the troopers with two minutes to spare.
"Command, bypass time, execute order now.", he says a little wheezy.
"Command confirmed.", they say. They begin walking through the corridor to the large blast doors that separated the stronghold with the rest of Utopia Planitia. The black trooper walks up to a control pad on the wall next to the door. It presses it's hoof onto it and the doors open. Buckshot cringes at the familiarity of the run down halls. Only the red emergency lights were on and wires were hanging from the ceiling. An Imp was heard in the distance fallowed by a scream. The troopers continue through the halls while Buckshot fallows. He brings his shotgun closer to himself with his magic.
He hears some scurrying and quickly turns around and fires both rounds. A corpse of a Gargoyle falls to the ground. He feels anger building up within him. They come up to a junction and turn right, to encounter a group of possessed. The troopers opened their mouths to reveal machine guns. They open fire, killing all the zombie like creatures. They press on, trampling over the corpses of what were once ponies.
From there it was a straight shot to the vault with the artifacts. more fodder was encountered along the way, but the troopers' machine gun, and Buckshot having a rage fit took them all down. Eventually they made it to the large blast door similar to the one at the stronghold. The white trooper walks over to the wall to the right of the door. It lifts it's hoof and it opens up. A plug like thing immerges from the open hoof and goes into a port on the wall. A blue stream of energy goes through it and the blast doors open up.
Inside there's a open sarcophagus with a large human male in the center of the room, and in the corner was the old Praetor Suit. Buckshot smiled at it, though seeing it was bittersweet. He then saw a copy of the armor designed for ponies. At this he grinned widely. He walked over to it and tried to grab the helmet with his hooves. Upon failing, he huffs and uses his magic. He puts the helmet down and walks over to the stand with his Super Shotgun.
"Oh baby how I missed you.", he says to the gun. He clutches the gun with his hooves and hugs it to his chest. He then puts it down and takes the time to change his armor to the pony Praetor Suit. It had the designation F-90 in place of the mark of the Primeval. As he put it on, it felt too big on him. Then he put his helmet on. The visor activated and he felt the suit tighten onto him.
"Auto fit active.", says a deep AI voice through the helmet.
"Why hello.", says a still happy Buckshot. "Who might you be?"
"I am PICA.", responds the AI. "Personal Intelligence Combat Assistant."
"Can you tell me more about you?", asks Buckshot.
"I am a sentient AI in the F-90 combat armor suit designed to give the user assistance in several ways.", the AI responds again.
"Oh so you're sentient.", says Buckshot.
"Affirmative.", obliges PICA.
"Does that mean you can think for yourself?", asks Buckshot.
"Yes.", PICA responds.
"Oh you and I are gonna be good friends.", says Buckshot, loading his Super Shotgun.

Pain elemental if you want to learn more about it

Hayseed sighed as he looked out the window of the Phobos weapons research facility. The moons position was now opposite to Utopia Planitia. The transport had arrived an hour before and another was scheduled to take them back to Earth the next day. Hayseed felt wrong leaving his brother behind, despite his knowledge of what he's capable of and Buckshot asking it. The rest of the survivors were in the mess hall enjoying their first non rationed meal in days.
Cadence walks with two fresh uniforms, wearing one. She tries to say something through her mouth full of cafeteria hay fries, but it comes out as a muffle. Hayseed looks back with an amused smile, but immediately goes back to his depressed expression. Cadence swallows her food.
"How's your leg?", she asks as she lays Heyseed's fresh uniform beside him. Hayseed wiggles the leg that got hit by the cacodemon.
"Feeling better.", he says. "I started taking pain meds, they're really helping." Cadence awkwardly starts toward the doorway. "I haven't eaten anything since we got back.", Hayseed cuts in. "Mind if I join you?"
"This isn't a date is it?", Cadence asks half jokingly.
"No ma'am.", Hayseed says with a slightly amused smile. "We're on duty, and besides, you're a married mare."
"That's what I though.", giggles Cadence.
Suddenly, several gunshots are heard, followed by screaming. Cadence and Hayseed rush to see what's happening. bullets are seen hitting the wall of the corridor from the cafeteria. A few screams are cut short by the gunfire. More foot-soldiers show up to contain the situation. A loud demonic screech was heard, and two strands of purple light come from the cafeteria and go through the soldiers. Most the light hit screamed in pain before glowing red and violently exploding. The last two the lights went into let out demonic screams and started shooting the rest of the squad.
"DEXTER!!!", shouts Hayseed. The now possessed soldiers turn toward Hayseed and Cadence to attack. They sprint to the elevator behind them. Bullets fly toward them, three hitting Cadence in the hindquarters, another in Hayseed's already injured leg. They make it to the elevator, Hayseed groaning in pain and Cadence holding back the urge to shout and cry.
Dexter lays against the wall with a bullet hole in his shoulder. Alarms began blearing around him. He focused his mind on not passing out, and what he was to do to stay alive. He knew it would only be a matter of time before he was detected, gave himself away, or bled out.
He eventually found the strength to get up and get to a place easier to hide and take care of his injury in. Fortunately for him this was exactly when another security team had arrived for another attempt of containment. He was able to escape under the cover of the firefight that just broke out. Is there no place we can go that's safe? , he thinks to himself as he makes his way to the elevator.
He reaches his claw toward the infirmary, but then hits the button for the armory. the infirmary is gonna be the first place they hit after the cafeteria , he thinks. And then the armory, so I better get supplies while I can. He was slowly getting more light headed as he thought of what happened.
As the elevator went down, he came to the conclusion that the purple strands of light were spirits, or at least a different variation of them. Spirits were a noncorporeal demon that could possess and take control of other demons to increase their strength. However, spirits were usually blue, and could only possess demons, whereas these were purple and could also possess ponies and dragons. Dexter considered himself lucky to be alive, considering spirits can sense life that they can possess. He remembered reading that the EAC had a very expensive run in with one once, and that it was contained with heavy microwave radiation.
The elevator opens to an armory of busy soldiers and security officers. Dexter, with one claw still putting pressure on his shoulder, tried getting anyone's attention before collapsing to the ground. Several ponies rush to assistance while another gets the emergency medical kit off the wall and brings it over.
"What the hell is happening up there?", asks a black pony, loading a rifle.
"Spirits.", Dexter painfully mutters. "But, they're different. They can possess beings other than demons." A stout, dark red mare in heavy armor walks in. She appeared to be the chief security officer.
"How many?", she asks.
"I counted two.", responds dexter. "But I was playing dead and was trying not to pass out, so there could be more."
"Why didn't you go to the infirmary?", asks the chief.
"I had assumed that would be the first place they hit after the cafeteria.", starts Dexter. "They hit the cafeteria, where most of the survivors are, then go to the infirmary to kill any of the injured that escaped. That way, they take care of the medical staff early, and eliminate that as an option for a potential hiding spot."
"Don't you think that's a bit advanced for a force as barbaric and primitive as the demons?", the mare asks.
"You make the mistake of underestimating them.", Dexter says through pained growls as a stallion removes the bullet from his shoulder. The mare thinks for a moment.
"You seem to more about them than any of us.", she says. "Do you know how to kill the spirits?"
"No one does.", Dexter answers pessimistically. "Though, I read somewhere of the EAC containing one with microwave radiation."
"Well that's gonna be a problem.", responded the mare. "We only have one prototype that deals with microwave radiation, and it's a weapon mod for another prototype in an entirely different section of the facility."
"Well that is a problem.", said Dexter. "And what makes it worse is that I have no way of assisting."
"I ain't letting you out no matter what condition you're in.", said the chief.
"Why?", asks Dexter puzzledly.
"Because you're the one that knows the most about the demons.", she responds.
"You're making all these decisions with not a lot of knowledge, how do you know I'm not full of shit?", Dexter asks. The mare lets a slight grin take over.
"I wasn't chosen for the head of security of one of the EAC's most important and secure sites for being a moron."

Another really long break. The purple lights thing was from this story: https://www.fimfiction.net/story/497527/lights . I got permission from the author to use it and expand upon it. To her directly, I hope you liked my Spirit idea.

Sector 48-A containment breech
Private Buckshot Blast had just arrived at Utopia Planitia for his new assignment. Fresh out of the academy, he was surprised to see that he got assigned to Mars. He expected to get assigned to the Moon or even Phobos. But Mars?
He never really wanted to enlist. He grew up as a parasprite hunter on a small farm just outside of the city limits of Trottingham. He and his brother, Hayseed, were getting ready to take over the farm when they came home to a burning house. They found their dead parents in the shed. Their Father appeared to have been killed by a chainsaw, and their Mother had been raped and shot.
Having nowhere els to go, they went to live with their best friend, Dexter. Dexter was a dragon that was a descendant of Rarity and Spike. After a couple years, Dexter enlisted. The brothers, of course, had to go with him. With some luck, they all got assigned to platoon G-46. A small platoon with only five marines, four unicorns, and one dragon. Unicorns being to only ponies able to wield a gun. Pegasi typically got scouting missions wile earth ponies were trained in advanced hoof to hoof combat.
"Platoon G-46 please report to marine command center to receive you orders.", said a loud speaker in the shuttlebay.
"That's us!", said Dexter. "Maybe you can finally get rid of that old man gun Buckshot." The other marines always made fun of buckshot for bringing his double barreled shotgun. He always tried to wave it off like nothing, but it often got to him. On the way to the Marine Command Center, they passed a large platoon guarding two important looking ponies. One was a young white mare with a purple mane and a short tale. The other pony was an old stallion with grey fur and a black mane.
"Who are those ponies?", asked Hayseed in his country accent.
"That's Aurora Foul and her assistant, Dr. Batruger.", answered Dexter. "They're in charge of the Lazurus project." They finally arrived at MCC. They went through automatic sliding doors that made a slight squeal what they moved.
"Good afternoon recruits.", said a buff, blue stallion with a large scar on the side of his face, and an artificial leg. "I am Lieutenant Colonel Ass Kick. I am here to give you your first assignments. I've read all your records and they're all exemplary. So I'm not going to give you an easy one. Two Hell Knight demons have escaped in section 48-A. Your job is to track them down. They've already killed ten marines, so stay on your toes. If you see them, shoot to kill."
