When Rarity made it to the ER waiting room Twilight and Fluttershy were already there. Twilight must have teleported to get her here. the two were sitting next to each other in the chair closest to the door to the ER. Fluttershy and Twilight looked up at her, Twilights facing displaying grim determination while Fluttershy's was nervous.
Rarity took a seat next to Fluttershy and grabbed her hoof to comfort her. She knew Rainbow was her oldest friend.
"So what happened?" Rarity asked, looking at Twilight.
"We don't know yet," Twilight said.
"Your rainbow friend is in critical condition, we are trying to stabilize her. Her bodies pretty tore up." a voice came from behind twilight. Twilight turned her head from Rarity to the door beside her to find it open with Dr. Redheart standing peeking through. "And the other one has a broken leg, Right Hindquarters"
Fluttershy's grip on Rarity's hoof tightened as she heard this. Rarity gasped.
"where were they found?" Twilight asked.
"Here" Redheart answered. Seeing the princess' confused expression she clarified, "Applejack apparently galloped in with Rainbow on her back."
Twilights eyes widened in shock, "with... with a broken leg?"
"It seems that way" Redheart replied, "tho I still can't comprehend how that was possible... the pain alone should have... well it did, I was told the second Rainbow was taken off her back Applejack collapsed."
None of this helped the worry of poor Fluttershy, who was now crushing Rarity's hoof.
"Can we see them?" Twilight asked.
"Once we finish Splinting Applejack, we'll take her to a recovery room and you can visit... but she'll like still be unconscious," Redheart replied.
"And Rainbow?" Twilight pressed.
Redheart looked away from the princess and to the floor and said, "I don't know her injuries are... much more severe... we could be operating for quite a while"
"What are her injuries?" Twilight said her voice rising.
Redheart looked to the increasingly frightened Fluttershy before replying "I'd rather not say right now."
Twilight understood this and said, "ok don't say it here but let me go in and see for myself."
"Absolutely out of the question." Redheart sternly replied.
"And why not?" Twilight yelled, stepping towards Redheart.
"We do not have civilians sit in with operations," Redheart said stepping forward herself.
"Your princess is hardly a civilian," Twilight snapped, to the shock of both her friends in the room, The princess card is not a card Twilight liked to use. "And as your Princess, I order you to..."
"order me? Someone needs to read up on her equestrian law, as far as decisions in this hospital are concerned I outrank even your teacher." Redheart rebuked.
As a tear ran down her cheek, when did she start crying? she hadn't noticed, twilight backed off, embarrassed.
Redheart's face instantly shifted to one of compassion "I know you're angry and that you're scared for your friend, Its only natural. I deal with it all the time, I don't take any of it personally."
"Still I'm... I'm sorry" Twilight said, unable to meet her gaze, Twilight sat back down.
Redheart looked at all 3 and said, "I'll come get you when Applejack is ready to see."
Fluttershy just sat there holding on to rarity for support.
She then left the room leaving the 3 alone in silence.
And they all began to wonder where Pinkie was. Rarity also wondered what Derpy needed to tell them.
About 30 minutes later they heard the sound of a pony trotting.
This noise was followed by a gray pegasus crashing into the room... hitting a line of chairs in the center of the room.
Derpy was here.
Fluttershy got up to help Derpy back to her hooves. Which oddly took her mind off everything, just for a second.
"Thanks, Fluttershy," she said sheepishly.
"No problem"
Derpy took a step back to address all 3. She took a breath and exhaled.
"Ok now that you're all here, I need to tell you something,"
"wait," Rarity interrupted. "Pinkie's not here yet."
Derpy clenched her eyes shut and looked away. "Pinkie... pinkie's not coming."
Derpy knew she would have to clarify by the looks on their faces... but she didn't want to. if she said it, then it was true.
But it was true. And she had to say it.
"Pinkie Pie is Dead"
Author's Note
Welp another awful chapter. This story is my baby and I love it very much... it is a very bright kid. Unfortunately, for it, I am its parent and I am not capable of giving it the support it needs to grow and thrive properly.
