Before Celestia banished Luna to the moon, she had a very loving relationship with Starswirl the Bearded with an ending result being a filly with great magical potential. When Starswirl disappeared and without the support of her sister, Celestia must care for the little filly whiles mentoring another little foal. Twilight Sparkle. Years later, Celestia sends Twilight to Ponyville, the girls encounter a long lost evil that has come to rule Equestria forcing them to make a journey to find the Elements of Harmony with the help of five other mares.

When everything returns to normal, Moonshine will find herself having adventures with the Mane 6, battling the forces of evil, meeting new friends, whether dragon, pokemon or other ponies and figuring out her role in Equestria as the daughter of Princess Celestia.
