The Element of Hope

Today, Moonshine and her pokemon were walking through Ponyville together. "So what do you guys wanna do today?" Moonshine asked them.

"Mudbray..!"

"Lycanroc..."

"Rockruff...!"

Toothles just warbled, wondering about what to do now. Then, Moonshine noticed some ponies gathering around, "What's going on?" Moonshine and her pokemon went over and they spotted Twilight, Applejack, Rarity and Rainbow. "What's going on?" Moonshine asked.

"There's this new unicorn in town named Trixie." Applejack stated.

Many different ponies were walking there, some talking about the show that was about to happen. They gathered around the cart Trixie had been pulling, before her voice sounded across the crowd. "Come one, come all, and witness the amazing magic of the Great and Powerful TRIXIE!" The cart suddenly shot open and morphed into a full stage. A puff of smoke exploded and Trixie appeared, wearing her purple star patterned hat and cape. “Behold Trixie's amazing tricks to inspire everypony here! Watch in awe!" the blue unicorn exclaimed as she lifted her hooves into the air, "as the great and powerful Trixie performs the most spectacular feats of magic ever witnessed by ponies' eyes!" Seconds later, fireworks went off around her, bringing most of the crowd into amazement.

"My, my, my," Rarity said, causing the four to glance at her. "What boasting."

"Come on! No pony is as magical as Moonshine-" Spike would have continued, but Twilight covered his mouth.

"Nothin at all," Applejack growled, causing them to now notice she was there too. "Except when somepony goes showing it off like a school filly with fancy new ribbons."

"Exactly," Rarity nodded, "its one thing to use magic to entertain ponies, but she's just looking for attention."

Trixie heard this and glared at the audience. "Well, well, well, it seems we have some neigh-sayers in the audience. Who is so ignorant to challenge the magical ability of the Great and Powerful Trixie?! Do they not know that they are in the presence of the most magical unicorn in all of Equestria?!”

"Oh please," Rainbow Dash barked, flying out of the audience. "What makes you think you're so awesome anyways?"

Trixie huffed at this. "Only the Great and Powerful Trixie has the magic to vanquish the dreaded...Ursa Major!" In that second, fireworks went off and formed the form of a giant bear.

From the audience, two young school ponies named Snips and Snails were in awe. "No way," Snails gasped.

"When all hope was lost..." Trixie explained as she began swaying her hooves around, "and the ponies of Hoofington had no one to turn to. But the Great and Powerful Trixie stepped in and with her awesome magic...she vanquished the Ursa Major and sent it back to its cave deep within the Everfree Forest!

Don't believe the Great and Powerful Trixie? Well then, I hereby challenge you, Ponyvillians. Anything you can do, I can do better. Any takers? Anyone? Hmm? Or is Trixie destined to be the greatest equine who has ever lived!?" Trixie declared and Spike uncovered his mouth, "Please! Moonshine! She's unbearable! Ya gotta show her! Ya just gotta!"

"There's no way I'm going to use my magic now, Spike. Especially since—" Moonshine started but then Trixie pointed to her, "Hmm, how about you?" Moonshine gulped a little.

"Well, how about it? Hm? Is there anything you can do that the Great and Powerful Trixie can't?" Trixie challenged.

"Um..." Moonshine replied.

"Well little hayseed?" Trixie asked then Lycanroc came in front of Moonshine and growled at Trixie, "Lycanroc...!" Trixie was shocked seeing the pokemon. "What the- What is that?!" she exclaimed.

"That's Moonshines' Midnight form Lycanroc. A tough wolf pokemon." Spike smirked.

Trixie, on the other hand, was no amused, "Hmph.. looks weak." Lycanroc growled and howled before launching Stone Edge towards Trixie who stepped to the side and dodged it, "Woah!" The crowd gasped in awe while Applejack smirked, "Is it weak now, missy?" she smirked.

"Lycan..." Then Mudbray, Rockruff and Toothless came to his side.

"This that's Mudbray, Rockruff and Toothless, the Night Fury." Spike added.

"What? How can a unicorn like you have such creatures?" Trixie asked.

"She's not a unicorn!" Rainbow exclaimed. "She's an alicorn! The daughter of Princess Celestia, to be exact." the crowd gasped and Trixie's eyes widened in shock while Moonshine blushed.

"Hmph, well if you think you're so great then how about this... a Magic Duel.. you and me!"

"What?!" Moonshine gasped.

"Whoever wins is considered the most powerful pony in all of Equstria and the loser... gets exiled from Ponyville!" Trixie challenged. "Take it unless your scared." Lycanroc growled and decided to unleash a like Rock Throw at Trixie, "Gah!"

Rainbow and the crowd laughed at her and Trixie turned red with anger. "Fine then! We duel at noon! Be ready to lose, alicorn...!" Trixie turned away while Moonshine still gulped nervously.

At the library, Moonshine was pacing back and forth,"I-I can't go up against Trixie.. I-I don't know what I'll do..!" she said in a panic. "I-I'll get exiled from Ponyville for sure. Ooooh...!"

"Moonshine, stop panicking." Twilight said as she came over to her, "You can beat Trixie. I know you can."

"H-How...?" Moonshine asked.

"Just show her your special talent in magic." Twilight smiled. "It's nothing to be ashamed of. Your magic is a part of who you are and its okay to show it off, especially when you're standing up to your friends."

Moonshine still looked nervous, but Rockruff and Mudbray nuzzled her happily and smiled. "We all believe in you Moonshine. You can do this.." Rainbow added with a smile. "You're Princess Celestia's daughter and Princess Luna's niece, of course you can do this."

"Well... gulp... if you say so.. I-I'll do it.." Moonshine stated.

Soon, the magic duel between Moonshine and Trixie was about to begin. Moonshine came out of the crowd and saw Trixie smirking at her from her stage. She gulped nervously and her stomach gurgled a little from nervousness. "You'll be fine, sugarcube...." Applejack smiled at her.

Moonshine gulped and she got onto the stage. "Prepare to lose, Alicorn..!" Trixie said before she sent a beam of magic into the air, making fireworks.

Moonshine took a deep breath and she blasted a beam of magic which turned into a small phoenix which cried out majestically and flew above the crowd. "Ooooh...." the crowd said in awe at the sight. Trixie was jaw dropped at the sight but shook it off. "Hmph, let's see how you handle this..." Trixie blasted the ground and she created a small podium out of rocks.

Moonshine also blasted the ground and she created a wolf out of the her magic along with some grass and rocks. "Woah...!" Twiight gasped in awe.

Trixie growled at Moonshine, "Alright... time for the big guns..." Trixie exclaimed before she blasted the ground in front of Moonshine and vines came out of it, tying around her. "Woah! "Gah!"

"Hey, that's cheating Trixie!" Twilight growled.

"Hahaha... nopony can match the Great and Powerful Trixie..!" Trixie exclaimed. Moonshine grunted in pain as the vines squeezed her tighter, "Ugh... Gah..." she grunted.

"Trixie, enough!" Rainbow exclaimed, but Toothless beat her to it and blasted Trixie with his plasma blast, sending her flying back and stopping the vines spell. Rockruff and Lycanroc used Bite and slashed the vines, freeing Moonshine. Mudbray cried out before he charged Trixie and used Double Kick, kicking her in the face. "Gah! Why you little..." Trixie growled but Lycanroc howled before he used Stone Edge on her which sent her flying all the way out of town.

"Hahah!" The crowd laughed as the girls came over to Moonshine. "Moonshine, are you alright?" Twilight asked.

"Yeah.." Moonshine said.

"Well since Trixie obviously cheated, that means you win the duel.." Twilight smiled. Moonshine smiled at Twilight. "Y-Yeah... I guess... I did....."

The girls smiled at her happily and her pokemon and Toothless nuzzled her happily.

Dear Mom,

Today I was confronted by a unicorn named Trixie who thought that she was better than everypony else. When she challenged me to a Magic Duel because I was an alicorn, I didn't want to do it cause I was scared to show off my talents, but my friends helped me see that it is okay to show off your talents, especially when you're standing up for your friends.
