"Welcome, all fans of motorsport to the 2019 Formula One Equestria Series! I'm Flim, once again joined by my co-commentator and brother, Flam!"
"Were are now in Montreal, Canada, on the man-made Notre Dame island for the Canadian round of the season. This island was actually used in the 1976 Summer Olympics for rowing and canoeing events. In fact, this circuit got its current name from Canadian racing legend, Gilles Villeneuve, father of Jacques Villeneuve, after his death in 1982. This circuit is fast and a killer on the brakes, with the heavy braking zones,"
"Thank you for the insight, brother. We are about to get underway, stay tuned!"
Later...
Two cars sat on the grid, ready for the next race. The second driver on the grid, at the wheel of his blue-and-white RP19, was Gallus the Griffon. Coming off great results in China and Baku, it came crashing down with failing to qualify for the round in Spain and crashing out in Monaco. Luckily, Gallus was able to set a new Lap Record in Monaco, so that was a bit of confidence back.
Now, that confidence grew. This time, he was now at the home track of his mentor, Lance Stroll. And he was able to get a massive amount of great advise from the Canadian. And he felt that he was ready to get himself a second victory.
Alright, just need to keep the car under control and have my paw to the floor in the straights. I should win this easily, He thought, as he waited for the light sequence. And soon enough, the first light came up. Gallus engaged the clutch and pushed his Mercedes engine to full power. Chrysalis did the same to the Ferrari engine in her HAAS.
All the lights soon followed and then went out. Gallus and Chrysalis launched off the line and begun the race. Chrysalis had the inside line going into the Senna 'S', however Gallus pulled the switchback and got the lead through the second part of the 'S'. Gallus applied more throttle and easily pulled away, with the Changeling Queen in hot pursuit.
Although Chrysalis was putting up a great fight, Gallus was eventually starting to pull away through the fast chicanes down the back straight. However, Chrysalis was able to gain back a bit of time at the Hairpin when Gallus messed up his braking point. And Chrysalis was able to catch back up with the griffon going through the final few corners.
However, Gallus began to pull away going through Lap 2. His and Silverstream's Racing Points were deadly fast the whole week. During Free Practise, both Silverstream and Gallus had been close to the Top 4 the whole time. With this in mind, Gallus easily began to pull quickly away from Chrysalis.
This resulted in the Changeling Queen pushing her HAAS harder in an attempt to catch back up. However, this would be her undoing, as coming out of Turn 14 on Lap 4, she pushed it too hard and lost the back end at 152 km/h (or 95 mph). This resulted her spinning out and hitting the Wall of Champions, which caused the HAAS to flick back around and hit the wall again with the front of her VF-19, snapping of the front wing and one of the wheels.
Her race was run.
And as Gallus raced past the finish line to start Lap 5, when he got the message from his race engineer. 'Gallus, yellow flag is out all sectors. Virtual Safety Car is in effect. Please back off the throttle,'
"Copy that, I'm backing off," Gallus replied, as he backed off to 40% of the race speed. "Wait, Chrysalis wrecked? Does that mean I win?"
'Yes, you are moving on to the final. You are moving on,'
"Yes!! Alright, I'm bringing it in. Oh, and send my condolences to the HAAS team," He stated, as he brought his RP19 around the track and into the garage.
