Duel Highlights
Round 7: Canadian Grand Prix

Duel 1: SIL (BWT Racing Point) VS RAR (Renault)

The first Duel was between two fast mid-pack drivers, Silverstream and Rarity. It was proven in Free Practise that the Equestrian Racing Points were fast, but so were both the Human and Equestrian Renaults. Daniel Ricciardo was able to get himself into P4 during Qualifying. This one would be close and it was.

Silverstream and Rarity went at it for the whole five laps, with multiple lead changes. However, it was the fashionista mare that came out on top, with a daring pass in the final chicane.

Duel 2: APP (McLaren) VS PIN (Aston-Martin Red Bull)

Next up was Duel 2, with Applejack taking on Pinkie Pie. Now that the Equestrian McLarens were out of the street tracks and now back on road and race track, both Applejack and Big Macintosh were finally able to gain some ground on the rest of the mid-pack. Although, upon seeing the track map, they were scared that they would encounter another tight track. But when they arrived, they were pleased to find that the track was just to their liking and were able to get vital info from their mentors.

And during her Duel, Applejack came into her own. With the helpful advise she got from her mentor, Lando Norris, she dominated her own Duel, easily beating out Pinkie Pie in the Red Bull.

Duel 3: YON (ROKiT Williams) VS DNG (Scuderia Ferrari)

Duel 3 was between Yona of the Williams team and DangerDean of the Ferrari team, with everything on the line. Both of the drivers were lacking in points and needed a meaningful result in the final of this round in order to get back into contention. But the Human and Equestrian Williams' were proven to be slow in Free Practise.

There was no contest. Danger easily was able to outrun the yak and take the victory with the Mercy rule,

Duel 4: OSC (Aston-Martin Red Bull) VS TWI (Mercedes-AMG Petronas)

The following Duel was between Danger's eternal nemesis, Oscura Galaxia and Twilight Sparkle. The Gilles Villeneuve circuit kind of suited the Mercedes cars with its high speed straights and balanced layout. However, Oscura had proved to be extremely fast the whole of Free Practise. In fact, she was the fastest Equestrian driver during the sessions, despite the fact that the Ferraris were the fastest cars in the field.

But Oscura would not falter. Twilight would try as hard as she could, but the evil doppelganger of herself would not give in and aggressively defended her line. This allowed her to take the win and move on to face Dean in the finals.

Duel 5: CEL (Alfa-Romeo) VS OCE (Red Bull Toro Rosso)

Duel 5 was a cakewalk for the Alfa-Romeo team, with their star driver, Celestia, facing off against Ocellus of Toro Rosso. In fact, the results didn't defy the expectations of the crowd and Princess Celestia easily took the victory and the spot in the finals.

Duel 6: SAN (ROKiT Williams) VS AKU (Mercedes-AMG Petronas)

The following Duel was close, with Akula of Mercedes taking on Sandbar of Williams. Now, the poor downforce of the FW42 was of hinderance at the high speed circuit. However, Sandbar's upgrades made sure that the lack of downforce was not an issue. So, this would be close.

And sure enough, Sandbar took the lead in the early stages of the race. But it didn't last long. Going into the Hairpin, Akula managed to take Sandbar under the brakes to take the lead. And after that move, Akula held on to take the win.

Duel 7: CHS (Aston-Martin Red Bull) VS GLA (HAAS)

Duel 7 was between Cheese Sandwich, a fun-loving stallion that sounded way too similar to Weird Al Yankovic and Gladmane, a greedy con-artist that sounded very much like Elvis Presley. Both weren't the best drivers on the Canadian circuit, but they were going to give it their all.

However, on the very first lap it was clear that Cheese's Red Bull was much faster than Gladmane's HAAS. The reason behind this was because during the main race, Gladmane's mentor, Kevin Magnussen, was having all sorts of problems with his car and was running right near the back of the pack, with the Williams. And Gladmane was running with his mentor's race setup. And it was because of this that Cheese easily took the win via the Mercy Rule.

Duel 8: VRL (Mercedes-AMG Petronas) VS SPI (Scuderia Ferrari)

Duel 8 was between two very well known pegasi; Viral Velocity was taking on Spitfire. Two of the top teams were taking on each other for another spot in the finals.

But the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve definitely suited the high-speed and downforce of the Mercedes W10 and Viral was able to take the win easily.

Duel 9: FLT (Red Bull Toro Rosso) VS LUN (Alfa-Romeo)

Duel 9 looked to be interesting, with Fluttershy of Toro Rosso taking on Luna of Alfa-Romeo. Although Luna had the lead for the first two laps, it was a daring braking attack that allowed Fluttershy to take the lead with only three laps to go.

However, on Lap 5 and with victory surely within the pegasus' grasp, everything changed. As Fluttershy rounded Turn 5 and made her approach to Turn 6, a woodchuck then ran across the track. The yellow pegasus then panicked and hit her brakes, sending the Toro Rosso into a spin. While the car wasn't damaged, the tyres were flat-spotted and Luna had the lead back. Fluttershy wouldn't recover and Luna took the victory.

Thankfully, the woodchuck wasn't hurt.

Duel 11: LTD (Scuderia Ferrari) VS RBD (Scuderia Ferrari)

Duel 11 was the rematch everyone was looking forward to. Rainbow Dash and Lightning Dust would be facing off again. Once again, Dash had the upper hoof. However, Dust did not give up easily and hammered on the tail of her teammate and rival through the whole race. Eventually, Dash suffered understeer going through Turn 6 and Dust took the lead, and with it, the win.

Duel 12: SUR (Renault) VS BMI (McLaren)

The final Duel of the round was between Big Macintosh of McLaren and Suri Polomare of Renault. After the Renault 1-2 victory at Monaco, confidence was at an all-time high going into Canada. It also helped when the setups that Ricciardo and Hülkenberg had gotten them high positions on the grid for the main race.

However, Macintosh was still without points and needed a meaningful result soon. Luckily, his MCL34 was proving to be much faster than the setup Suri had applied to her R.S.19. He easily took the win and the spot in the final.
