Adagio slowly got up. She didn’t have work, and hopeful she wasn’t dreaming about what day it was. She looked at the first generation Android phone on the nightstand and sighed. It was Spring Break, and she had an entire week off. She looked at Passive Voice who was enjoying his Spring Break as well. She grinned, leaned over, and kissed him. Sonata had offered to cook dinner, which ended up being tacos, but she had done a passable job. The one set back was that Passive’s little brother and sister both had gotten sick. Active, his little brother, had basically thrown up everything he ate, and Reserved, his little sister was much the same. Of course Aria had started in on how this was obviously Sonata’s fault. Passive had stepped in, said that there was a virus going around, and he doubted it was Sonata’s fault at all.
Of course she had gone with him to the ER, and once there they had learned that both of the Voice children had a bad case of the flu. They were quarantined to their room, informed that they would be brought some chicken noodle soup, had access to the television and streaming services that allowed parental settings, and afterward both she and Passive had passed out.
She saw how peacefully he was sleeping, how sweet and gentle he was, and naturally it made her want him. Adagio groaned, “Sonata, for the love of your own body, please, leave, shut the door, and just fix whatever it is you want for breakfast.”
“Okay!”
She closed the door, and outside she could hear Aria, “So, what’s going on?”
“Oh, Passive was just giving it Adagio really hard!”
“SONATA!” Adagio shouted.
She looked at Passive, “I’m sorry, she’s still an idiot.”

(AN:What's this? Another Equestria Girl's story? Yeah, I couldn't help myself. I wanted to do something special. This is basically going to be a collection of stories featuring the girls from Calendar Girls. So, twelve chapters in total, about a thousand words per chapter. It's my hope that I can entertain everyone.

A Sonata Dusk and Sown Oats Story
A Modest sequel to Calendar Girls
“Welcome to Taco Hut, home of the only Taco in a Hut, may I take your order?” Sonata asked as she wore the headset. Adagio had been right about how she couldn’t eat all of the tacos, but that didn’t mean that she couldn’t enjoy her free meal a day. Right now though she was getting an order from what sounded like a grumpy woman with an upset child. If she had to guess it was because the kid was on Spring Break and the woman was trying to keep him occupied.
She looked behind her to see the door open, which meant that someone that worked here was coming inside. The manager wasn’t letting people eat inside since there was an outbreak of the flu. That was kind of sad, because she actually liked to see people enjoying their meals. But, this was making the day pass pretty quickly regardless. A smile crossed her lips as she saw who walked in.
His silver hair was pulled into a ponytail, there was a hint of a five o’clock shadow, which would be gone this evening, and his mustard yellow skin looked to be fresh and clean. She saw him yawn, which meant that he had been working at his other job. He walked behind the counter, smiled at her, and walked toward her.
“Dusk, how’s it going?”
She liked that about Sown Oats. He called her by her last name. Which was fine with her. She giggled, “Pretty good, staying busy. Oh, Mr. Service is really pushing everything staying clean, so make sure that you wear those gloves today.”
He rolled his eyes, “Sure, why not.”
He walked past her, toward the back, and she took the order the woman gave her into the computer. Two Super Hut meals, which was three supreme tacos, one potato rounds order, and a medium drink a piece, and then she wanted to get a kiddie Jr. hut meal. That was a plain taco, small potato rounds, and a small drink. She hadn’t heard anyone else, so she figured that either the second Super hut meal was for someone at home, or she was going to be stress eating.
“Okay, that’ll be twelve dollars and fifty cents, please pull forward!”
She felt a tap on her shoulder and looked at Mr. Service. He looked tired, but she knew that it was because he had gotten here two hours early, and would be leaving about two hours after close.
“Take your break, I’ll cover the window,” he said.
She nodded, walked toward the back, and saw Sown Oats in the freezer. She grinned, walked toward it, and let the door close. He turned around and smiled at her.
“Dusk, I was hoping that was you and not Shutter Flash. I’ve had to tell her three times, not interested.”
She smiled, “I’m glad it’s me too,” she giggled, “So, I’ve got fifteen minutes, and you’re here…”
He grinned at her, “Dusk, Sonata, we can’t. Mr. Service will have a cow. Seriously, I’m sure he’ll actually pass one.”
She grinned as she neared him, “That just makes it more fun, right?”
He sighed as she kissed his neck, “I suppose, but why aren’t you like this when you visit the club?”
She shook her head, “Naw, at Dirty Dancing you’re not you. You’re just going through the motions so those girls will give you money. I want Sown Oats, not Sown Oats’ swinging cock in a G-string.”

She shrugged her shoulders, “I can go to the other Taco place, and I know that you were only working here because you liked the cheap meals.”
He rolled his eyes, “Naw, I was just saying that. I was planning on quitting a while back, but then I met this cute girl. It gave me a reason to work two jobs. Guess that now I’ve got to find a way of making it work without the Taco Hut.”
She beamed at him, “Just ask her out,” she kissed him, “And maybe keep doing things like this every once in a while.”

Standing there the words didn’t make sense. She looked at Honored Glory as he stood there. His face looked sad, but this had to be a dream. It couldn’t be real. She’d heard once that if you were dreaming and you asked if you were then you would let yourself know that you were dreaming. She saw him look away from her, his eyes refusing to look at her, and she began to fear that this wasn’t a dream. She sniffed.
“Really, this is a dream, right?” she asked again.
“I’m sorry ma’am. I’m afraid it’s not a dream,” he looked at the ground, “But it’s not. Silent was killed in action. I… I asked if I could come and inform you myself instead of having them send you a letter or just give you the call. That wasn’t right, and I couldn’t let them do that to you,” he looked at the ground before finally looking up at her, his eyes filled with shame, “I felt that it was only right for someone that was close to Silent to let you know.”
She sniffed before the tears began to well up in her eyes. Silent had just barely been home long enough to learn that he was going to be a father. He had to go back over once more, and then he was going to be switching to a recruiter position. It would let him be able to be home every night, and she knew that he would love that.
Instead he was gone, and Bumble was never going to know his father. She couldn’t help herself as she began to cry, and she felt Honored Glory wrap her into a hug. She stood there, letting the emotions hit her, letting it destroy that small piece of herself, and she let it out through the rivers of tears that was flowing down her face. She wept for the love that was gone, for the father her children would never have again, and finally for the future that was now going to be buried.

After he left she slowly walked toward the living room. Bumble was awake, and he was crying as she carried him. She gently rocked him, knowing that things were going to be changing. She didn’t really want to think about it. She just wanted to crawl inside of her bed, cry, and let the world slip away, but she couldn’t. She had her little muffins now, and she needed to take care of them. Without Silent there she would have to pick up the slack. That meant trying to get more hours at the post office.

Part of her was angry at the world that it took her Silent away from her. Part of her wanted to scream at the universe for it being so unfair, but she stopped that part of her. That part was selfish, and right now she needed to be strong. She needed to provide for her three little muffins. She needed to give them a good life, and she hoped that when the day came that she finally got to see Silent again he could be proud at what she had done.
She heard her daughter come downstairs, and she saw her stop and study her for a moment.
“Mom?”
She sobbed as Amethyst came near her, “Mom, are you okay?”
She cried as her daughter hugged her, “Mom? What’s wrong?”

Amethyst looked shocked, and then she shook her head, “No… Dad’s… No he’s okay right?”

Sugarcoat sighed as she looked at the empty classroom. In truth she wasn’t required to come in today, but there was a few last minute things she needed take care of, and since the state board of education had decided to close all of the schools out of the fear of the new string of the flu going around, it meant that she would have far longer to enjoy her break. Getting the papers graded and sorted would only allow her the chance to really enjoy herself.
Her Android buzzed, and she looked at it. Seeing that Fancy Pants was calling her she answered the phone. She quickly put it on speaker, and continued to work through the pile of essay papers she had assigned the students.
“Mmm, dearest, I believe you have forgotten something,” Fancy said over the line.
“It’s unlikely. I have everything down in my planner, and backed up on google calendar,” she replied.
“True, but I’m very certain that you’ve forgotten something. Something quite large in fact,” he said.
She looked at the phone, hit the video button, and a moment later she could see Fancy’s face. Then she noticed the tux, the crowd, and her eyes widened.
“Oh… the practice, I had that down at seven pm, why is now?”
He laughed, “Dearest, we discussed this earlier. Some of those who are in the wedding won’t be able to attend the seven pm practice, and it was going to be best to hold it now at three. We did have a small snaffu in the respect that the blushing bride didn’t appear.”
She sighed, “I’m sorry, I was thinking that I had plenty of time. I can rush over in a few minutes.”

The line disconnected, and she looked at the essay in front of her. She needed to get going, to get to the church, and go through the dress rehearsal, but then looking at the essay in front of her she needed to check it. One of her students had come so far, and she wanted to check his progress. He still talked with the same accent as his relatives that lived here, but she had seen his writing really improve. She checked it, seeing that his argument was done with some true thought on the matter at hand.
In this case he was making a case about how state, and local government agencies had been called to go and check on his grandmother, but none of them had gotten out there after three hours. It had taken his uncle calling the delivery service at Silly Billy’s Pizza and Arcade to actually get someone to check on her. Which at the same time he was able to feed her. It was a brilliant example of government funded services falling short. He had even went further to show other examples of the same, and then he used data that was published in a journal that was found online.
The source was respectable, and she had allowed it. Along with the other news stories that he’d dug up it had shown how the local government agencies, and even state government agencies, had failed when it came to simply going out and checking on an elderly individual, and each time that something as simple as a pizza delivery driver was used the elderly person wasn’t only checked on, but they were fed as well.
Even though she herself believed in having a government that was capable of assisting its citizens she found no fault in his logical conclusion that it was apparent that a libertarian government seemed to be far more reactive toward the needs of its citizens as long as there was a service that was used in order to meet that need. Despite her own bias she only marked the few grammatical errors, gave the essay a ninety percent, and recorded it.
With that she left the school, drove toward the church, and made her apologies. She saw Fancy looking at her. His eyes bright, his smile infectious, and she couldn’t help but to return it. She saw Indigo sitting at a pew, her belly swollen due to the pregnancy, and of course the rest of her friends were there as well. She walked toward the small dressing room, and she saw the dress that Sunny had made for her.

She wondered if they had actually loved one another before they married, and then she realized that it didn’t matter. Fancy was marrying her because he loved her. She agreed because she loved him. Whatever happened, wherever their lives led to after this, it would be done because the decision was made with love. She walked out, and she felt someone take her arm. She looked to see Second. He gave her a smile.
“I hoped that you didn’t mind me being the stand in,” he said.
She shook her head, “Thank you. Granted you’re not my father, and the idea that you could be giving me away is ridiculous in so many ways that it is beyond laughable.”
He laughed, “Sure, but since you didn’t want to invite your parents…”
She gave him a small smile, “I know, and thank you,” she said.
He walked her to the front. There ahead of them was Starlight Glimmer. She smiled at all of them, “Well, since we are all here, what do you say we run through this?”

“Like, how long did they say we were going to be here?” Lemon asked.
She shrugged her shoulders, “Apparently until we’re all checked. Which according to our hosts will take a minimum of a week because their medical facilities hasn’t even received their testing materials yet.”
Lemon took a seat behind her, “Bummer, but hey, at least it’s not like we don’t have places to go eat, or somewhere to sleep.”
She gave a small smile to one of her lovers, “True, and it could be worse, but I had hoped on getting home and relaxing in a large tub.”
She looked at Neon who was carrying three cups. He handed her one, Lemon another, and then took his own. She took a drink, sighed as the warmth spread through her throat, and then let out a sigh, “Neon, dearie, thank you for the wonderful idea. A nice Caramel Mocha Latte was exactly what I needed.”
She leaned against the hard plastic chair, “So, do we know the sleeping arrangements? I believe the airport hotel may be full.”
Neon cleared his throat, “Yeah, we’re stuck in the terminals,” he replied, “They’re handing out blankets and pillows, but we’re not going anywhere.”
She sighed, “Well, this is perfectly joyful. I’m glad that I’m with both of you, but unfortunately I feel frustrated, and there’s nothing to do about it.”
She felt Lemon scoot near her, “Not exactly, I mean it won’t be everything, but remember when we shared a blanket at that park in Paris?”
Sunny blushed, “Yes, I do remember, but I would be a little afraid that we may get caught,” she replied, “Not that it wouldn’t be fun, but I would rather that everyone around us not know what we were trying to do.”
Lemon grinned, “Just practice on keeping quiet and not moaning,” she said as she slightly pinched Sunny’s butt, “and no one will be the wiser.”
Neon rolled his eyes, “Yeah, or we could go to the VIP lounge, get back into the corner, and just be quiet in comfort.”
Lemon sighed, “Sure, and take all of the fun out of it. Out here it would take some skill, that’s just like… Cheating.”
Neon rolled his eyes, “Lemon, none of us want to get into trouble, and honestly, the VIP would be better, but if it’s just frustration, why not hit the arcade?”
Sunny looked at him, “Are you seriously turning down…”
He kissed her, causing her to stop, before leaning back, “No, I’m not. But at the same time the last thing you need is for us to get caught. I don’t want to be part of something that causes your image to suffer. I love, and Lemon, too much for that. So, I suggest that the moment we can get somewhere private we go at it like a bunch of teenagers on viagra, but for now maybe we should take the easier route, play some video games, and just let some digital violence take the edge off.”
Lemon sighed, “Yeah, I guess that would be okay.”
Sunny smiled, “Okay, but I will hold you to your other suggestion the moment they have a room available for us to stay in.”
He nodded, “Of course, so lead the way.”
With that she stood, and the three of them headed toward the internal tram system that took them across the entire airport. Getting on had been easy, getting to the section with the Video Arcade had been fairly easy, but seeing a crowd that obviously thought of the same thing had ended the idea. Sunny looked at the collection of adults and children being told to please thin out and wait until some of the machines became available. They looked at the sign in sheet which was at least six hours out.
“Well, that’s a bust,” Lemon said. They began walking back toward the tram, when Neon grabbed their arms.
Both of them began to say something before he pulled them toward a store. Uncertain of what he was doing he brought them into a Coco’s Secret. The lingerie store was something that Coco Pommel had started as her own project, and while some of the styles were racey and revealing all of the clothes were of impeccable style and quality.
“Dude, are you wanting us to dress in some underwear?” Lemon asked.
He looked at them, and then walked to the counter, “Miss, my two friends would like to look around, maybe try something on, but both of them wouldn’t want to take up much needed space. So, could they possibly use a single dressing room?”
The girl looked at him, then them, and then rolled her eyes, “like, fifteen minutes max, and if there’s anything on the clothes, you bought it, okay?” she stated.
“Sure, not a problem.”
He looked at them, and together they walked toward a dressing room that she unlocked for them, “So like if you’re gonna use, you totes gotta take something to try on.”
Lemon grabbed a black thong, a lacey black bra, and then walked toward it. Sunny grabbed a nice Boddice, a pair of stockings, a garter belt, and followed. He stood there.
“Not gonna go in there with them?” she asked.
“Nothing out here is my style.”
“So, can he come in and tell us which one looks better?” Lemon called.
“Whatever, fifteen minutes,” she said before leaving them to it.
He walked in and both of them were already undressed. He was about to say something when Sunny got down on her hands an knees, “We’ve got fifteen minutes, so lets make the most of them,” she said.
In that fifteen minutes Sunny Flare was loved more passionately than she believed possible in a small four foot by four foot room. There was barely enough room for them together, but they made it work. When they were done both girls decided to purchase what they tried on, although Lemon did decide to go with an extra pair of hipster panties.
As they left the store Sunny hugged both Lemon and Neon. She was complete, she was whole, and she was loved. Even stuck here for however long it was, she felt good.

Aria looked at the video she had just shot. So far her Youtube channel had about two hundred thousand subscribers, her Pateron, which was more of her paycheck than the ad revenue from Youtube, was bringing in about two hundred dollars a video. She did about ten videos a month, and all in all, she wasn’t hurting. Of course the fact that she didn’t pay rent did help. For the most part she enjoyed doing to the Let’s Play, and typically she would enjoy the way her subscribers would praise her abilities.
She began editing the video when her stomach growled. Getting up she walked to the kitchen to find that nothing was ready. She considered complaining to Adagio, but her sister was currently in her room, and it was likely she was currently cuddling with Passive. She rolled her eyes, looked to see where Sonata was, but her sister was working at a new Taco Place. Mucho Taco, which why she quit Taco hut she didn’t know. Something about health code violations. Knowing Sonata she did something stupid.
So, she could fix something from scratch, which she didn’t have the patencient for, or she could step out, walk down the street, and get something from the Burger place Adagio used to work at. Since that would be easier she grabbed her messenger bag, it wasn't a purse and no one was going to convince her that it was, and she headed out the door. As she stepped out she noticed how deserted things looked. In truth, it reminded her of when the black plague had broken out. Everyone stayed indoors, of course they didn’t realize that it was rats carrying the plague. They had survived that, and undoubtedly they would survive this.
As she walked she noticed how people wanted to interact, but looked frightened. She rolled her eyes. Humans had a tendency to change their morals every so often, and when something forced them to change their typical actions it caused a disturbance that they simply weren’t ready for. In this case humans seemed to be more social than they had been, and being forced to keep a certain distance was obviously bothering them. Personally, she felt no real problem with it.
Granted, when they had their magic she had to play people against each other, and at the same time get them to adore her, but since losing her magic she hadn’t needed to do that. Instead she was fine with just doing her videos, having her social interactions be with her sisters, Passive Voice, and his two siblings. And, if she was going to be honest she did enjoy being an aunt. She made sure that both of them understood not to let Passive, or Adagio know when she gave them chocolate or soda.
But since the two were sick, Passive and Adagio were both out for an extended Spring Break, it was likely they wouldn’t be getting their treats anytime soon. She sighed, and looked at the Burger place ahead. Swell Burger, home of the Swell Burger, stood nearly abandoned. There were a few cars, mostly in the drive through. She walked to the door, saw that the lobby was closed due to the virus, and she groaned. She just wanted a damn burger! She walked toward the drive through, determined to at least make her order, pay, and then walk home. Getting up near the order window she checked her messenger bag. Opening it she realized that her debit card was home. She closed the bag, closed her eyes, and softly said every swear word she had ever heard in her long life.
“You okay?”
She looked at the person asking. He was most likely about twenty, more than likely a student, most likely out because of the virus, and working here because they offered him a job and he needed it.
“Sure, I just got to walk home, get my card, and then walk back up here so I can stand in line at the Drive thru like a idiot while you take my order. The world is my fucking oyster.”
He shook his head, “Look, I’m about to take lunch, and I don’t mind getting an extra meal if you want one.”
She looked at him, “What’s the rub?”
He looked at her oddly, “Ummm, what?”
She sighed, “So, what? Do you want me to flash some skin or something for it?” she looked at his rich brown eyes, which she had to admit were actually nice, “because that’s not happening.”
He shook his head, “Yeah, that’s not what I intended. I just thought it would be nice to eat lunch with someone. We could sit at the tables outside.”
She looked toward the picnic style tables, back at him, and then finally nodded, “Sure, whatever,” she said, “I’d like a Swell burger meal, medium fries, and a diet Coke.”
He nodded, and after a few minutes he walked out with two trays. She took hers, sat down next to him, and bit into the hot meal. She saw him enjoying his food, and then she looked at the burger in front of her, “So student?”
He smiled, “That obvious huh?” he asked.
She nodded, “A little. What university?”
He leaned back, “It’s online. I mean the university itself is out of state, and I have to make a trip about three times a semester to attend a real class, but its not bad. Of course, there’s no classes for the next month, maybe two months, because of the outbreak.”
She nodded, “Well, thanks for the meal,” she began to get up.
He smiled, “You’re welcome. Thanks for sharing it with me.”
She looked at how happy he was just to talk, to visit, and he didn’t want anything else. His complexion was nice, a soft peach, his hair was the same brown as his eyes, and he had a few dark freckles that dotted the bridge of his nose and his cheeks.
“Look, maybe if you feel up to it we can hang out again. This virus outbreak has limited our options, but I’m sure we can check out the local box stores, maybe watch a movie at the electronics department.”
He grinned, “Sure, ummm, do you mind if I get your number?”
She grinned, “Okay, it’s 525-867-5309,” she said
He grinned at her, “like Jenny huh?”
She couldn’t help but laugh, “Yeah, surprised that you knew it.”
He got up, “Hey, I’m off in a couple hours, we could check out the local store like you said, feel up to it?”
She nodded, “Sure. I’m Aria by way. Arial blaze.”

Waking up Pinkie stretched as she opened her light blue eyes. The night before had been something of an interesting one. Normally she worked at Silly Billy’s Pizza and Arcade. Her job was that of the Party Planner. She filled in a few other places, and she also worked at Sugar Cube corner for the Cakes every so often, but more often than not she would be at Silly’s making sure children of all ages had the best party they could.
And then the virus outbreak happened. The owner informed everyone that they would be closing for at least a month, and in that time if they had PTO they could use it. Did she want to use it? Not really, but not because she was specifically saving it. Instead she simply wanted to keep working. But things don’t always happen like people would want them to, and she found herself being off, with paid leave for three weeks, and a week of unpaid leave. Thankfully she didn’t have to spend that time alone.
“M...morning,” a soft voice said.
She grinned at the man in her bed, “Morning! You know what sounds good? Muffins! After all Muffins are naked cupcakes, kinda like how we’re naked right now!”
He didn’t act offended, and he didn’t back away, but he did blush. He was opening up more, and that was good. She understood when she became interested in him that he had years of learned behavior that had to be worked at. She knew the best thing to do was to set the change upon him, and show him love and understanding while she did. And of course letting him cream her pie helped.
She kissed him, got up, and gave an extra sway to her hips as she walked toward the kitchen. She didn’t act like she was going to get dressed, because they were in their house. They weren’t hurting anyone, and if she wanted to walk nude around here for her, and him, then she would do it. She moved to the kitchen, finding an apron, slipping it on, and tied it in place. She then gathered the muffin mix.
Fifteen minutes later, and the addition to milk, eggs, sugar, some banana chips, and a few crushed walnuts, she was putting the muffin ingredients into the pans and then slipping them into the preheated oven. She grinned as she set the timer for thirty minutes. Looking up she saw Tall Tale. He was walking into the kitchen wearing a pair of sweatpants and nothing else. She grinned as she opened the refrigerator, “Muffins will be a little bit, do you want something in the meantime?”
She slightly shifted her hips, knowing that he was looking at her as she leaned into the refrigerator to look for something to snack on. A moment later she felt his hands on her hips and she bit her lip as she waited. This was something she was ready for, and she had hoped that he was enough out of his shell that he could take the few next steps on his own.
“Yeah.. I’d like pie.”
She grinned and pressed back against his sweatpant covered crotch, “And Pie would like you,” she purred.
She felt him move, for a moment and then she felt him press into her. She moaned as he filled her, and she began to match his thrusts. Her hands laid flat on the surface of the bottom shelf, and she felt how deep he was going with each thrust. She matched him perfectly, and she could feel herself getting close. She hoped that he was as well. She thrust back against him hard, impaling herself completely on his shaft. She looked over her shoulder at him.

Before he could say a word she began to take him into her mouth. He’d taken the few steps needed, and to her there was a reward that needed to be given.
She felt his hands on the back of her head, and soon she felt him go again. She swallowed, got up, and kissed him. He hugged her, neither caring that she was leaving little droplets of their love making on the tile floor. She leaned against him.
“Mmmm, that was wonderful.”
He smiled as he hugged her, “It was. Ummmm, Pinkie, I don’t know if you want to, but I’ve been wanting to ask for a while now…”
She silenced him with a kiss, “Yes I want to marry you, and I figured that I’d answer before the guy writing this could make this scene too much like that other story he wrote.”
He looked at her, smiled and shook his head, “You are so wonderfully random.”
She sighed, “Yeah, and now we’re going to be wonderfully random together.”
The ding of the timer let her know that the muffins were ready. She opened the oven, took out the tray, and then began pulling the muffins out onto a serving platter. Shortly after she passed one to him, and then she took one herself. Treats and sweets were always good, but post coital muffins were perhaps the greatest single thing to ever have existed. She bit into them, and then she wondered if anyone else had discovered how good muffins were after amazing sex.

An official notice had been sent out urging parents not to make appointments with Sweet Family Medicine unless it was an explicit emergency. Still, whether they were panicky first-timers or those who didn't trust the mainstream hospitals (whatever that was supposed to mean), some still brought their children in. Doctor Sour Sweet took pleasure in assuring that the little ones only had minor ailments, at least compared to the virus. They were sent off with a prescription and a pamphlet containing proper hygiene instructions. Afterwhich, Sour would disinfect the examining room as thoroughly as possible.
She returned to her office to have a short rest. She checked the reputable medical websites for updates about statistics, government plans, and the development of potential vaccines. Thankfully, Canterlot City hadn't seen a confirmed case yet. Still, that didn't stop the standard precautions from being implimented. Schools were empty. Resturants were closed. Some businesses had shut down, paid leave or no.
Sour sighed. She wished these things only happened in the movies. Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy? she sung in her head. This was the profession she had chosen, however. It was her duty to remain calm and help everyone she could.
A chime came from her computer. Her husband was calling her on Skype. Sour smiled and answered.
"How's the city's number one pediatrician doing?" Second Person asked.
"Oh, like you've actually ranked us without bias," Sour said, smirking. "All's well on the private practice front. Would be better if your mother wouldn't keep calling me, demanding to know what the NWO is using the virus to distract us from."
"Yeah, sorry about her..." Second said sheepishly. "I've been doing my best to calm her down."
"Perhaps I should remind her that this kind of chaos never happened when Zecora was president, hm?"
Second cringed. "Come on, let's keep things from getting too political right now..."
Sour chuckled. "I'm kidding. No politics during business hours for me, I swear. Anyway, where's Bitter?"
Speak of the angel, Bitter Honey suddenly jumped up into frame, waving for the camera with an energetic, "Ohisashiburi desu ne!" Sour thought it was so adorable Second had decided to teach her some Japanese.
"And how's my little girl handling social distancing?"
Another window abruptly opened containing a close up of Gretchen's wide open mouth with food in it, accompanied by an irritating "Ahhh!" Whether she was simply playing the seafood game or mocking Sour's examinations was unclear. Gilda then came into view and snatched up her bratty daughter. With a quick "Sorry, Sour!", she logged off.
"Gretchen can only be on the computer when she's behaving," Bitter explained. "Which means she can't be on for very long..."
Sour laughed, but on the inside she worried. Life was changing so fast, becoming more unpredictable by the day. She hoped the world that her daughter would grow up in would be good to her. Especially since she could have inherited...
Sour instantly cut off that one terrifying thought as she had done a million times before. As tough as she was, that kind of contemplation was banned by order of her own sanity.
"Well, gotta go now," Sour finally said. "My two o'clock is approaching."
"Sayounara, mama!"
"See you soon, my love."
Sour logged off. She got up and made her way out of the office. On the examining room's door was the clipboard containing the patient's information that the nurse had left for her. Sour put on a soft smile and entered.
"Oh, hi, doc."
"Hello, Miss Hooves. What seems to be the trouble with little Bumble here?"
Derpy looked embarrassed. "Well, he woke up with a cough this morning. I know it's probably not... I mean, I just wanted..."
Sour laid a sympathetic hand on Derpy's shoulder. She had heard the news about her husband. It all must have seemed like a whirlwind for the blonde mother of three, suddenly single and now with some virus sweeping the globe. Caught in a landslide, no escape from reality , she sung in her head again. The only other kind of person who could possibly understand was one who was a mother themselves.
"It's okay, Miss Hooves. We wouldn't be mamas if we didn't worry sick about our babies, now would we?"
Derpy smiled and nodded sincerely.
"Now, let's see what we can do for your little muffin..."

Starlight looked at the camera and gave a smile. She understood her Flock’s choice to want to have service via Facebook. The pandemic that was spreading across the globe was one that had truly been the great equalizer. People regardless of race, economic standing, creed, or any other factors. A small part of her felt that the virus was doing something that most politicians had never been able to do. It was causing people to try to connect with their immediate families and practice social distancing.
“Sisters and brothers, I come to you today thanks to the internet, and I wanted to remind you that while God has indeed blessed us, and has indeed given us much, we still need to practice safety,” she smiled, “He did give us common sense, and he did give us the ability to reason. For that reason we shouldn’t tempt fate.”
She grinned, “Another thing we should do is practice forgiving one another,” she looked toward the camera, “Our lord and savior has said that he without sin should cast the first stone. There’s so much in that we need to take away. I don’t believe it means to be a doormat, but it does mean to understand each other,” she gave a soft smile, “We need to understand that this is a trying time, and people who may be acting short may be doing so out of fear. They may fear what is happening, what is being done, and they may feel no real control in their lives. These emotions are normal, and their actions may reflect them.”
She sighed, “But it doesn’t mean to simply continue to allow actions to continue,” she looked toward the bible, “Do unto others, as you would have done unto you,” she looked back at the camera, “There’s a reason that is a golden rule. To treat others the way you want to be treated, to live with dignity while treating others the same. It’s important, and it is important to remember that our actions can lift up, or bring down, another.”
She then pressed play on an old MP3 player and played a recording of various church hymns. Once they were done she said a short prayer, and asked her members to try to see the good in others and trust that God would help the world along. She stopped the live casting of her service, which had a full attendance, and looked to see her roommate. Aryanne was softly speaking into a phone.
“Ja,” she said, “Ich werde ihr einen Teil meiner Freizeit geben,” she sighed, “I mean I will give her some of my time off.”
She closed her eyes, “Einhundert, I mean one hundred. Ja, I have time for myself as well.” Aryanne nodded, and then her face fell, “Nein,” she gasped, “That.. ist schreckich, horrible, how long?”
She shook her head, “Ist Gofundme?”
A moment later she watched as Aryanne connected to the internet on her phone, she then punched in a small number, “Ist all I can give, ja, bitte danke,” she said before she disconnected the call.
“Aryanne, what’s happening?”
She looked at the porcelain skinned girl as she shook her head, “Junebug, you know?” she asked.
Starlight racked her brain, and then she remembered the cream colored girl with a two toned brown swirled hair. She knew that she worked with Aryanne, and she knew that Aryanne tended to work parties and other such things as an escort. She had done the photoshoot for the Calendar out of a sense of civic duty, and also to bring more potential followers to communist side of things.
Aryanne worked parties, and a number of other things either as an escort, dancer (well stripper), and a number of other things. She knew that Aryanne had a rule that she didn’t whore herself out. She didn’t cross that line, and she respected her for it. She also knew that Junebug obviously worked with Aryanne.
“It’s been a while, but yes, I remember her.”
Aryanne sighed, “She has a kleines Mädchen, a little girl, and the girl is ill.”
Starlight covered her mouth, “Oh God, is it…”
Aryanne nodded, “Ja, she was tested, first case in Canterlot City. Sour Family Medicine confirmed,” she sighed, “We were donating time off to her. She has used up already, and I donated some of my savings to her.”
Starlight sighed, “That’s terrible, I’m glad that you helped out…”
Aryanne sighed, “Junebug is a friend, like you, I help look out for her. I hope her kleines Mädchen is okay.”
Starlight nodded, and then closed her eyes. She silently prayed for Junebug’s little girl. In truth she hoped that she would be doing much better. She then considered her flock, and without thinking she asked Aryanne for the information for the Gofundme. Once she sent it to her she quickly sent the information, along with what Aryanne had just told her, to her congregation. After doing so she hoped that God would lay it on their hearts to help out Junebug’s family at this time.
As the hours passed she would look at the Gofundme, and she watched as it climbed from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand. Donations poured into the Gofundme for Junebug’s family. Donations that would help with medical expenses, food, and other things she was certain the family needed. But what really caught her by surprise was something that Diamond Tiara, Filthy Riches’ daughter, did.
Diamond Tiara had taken over Farmland Eatables, a division of Barnyard Bargains, and had since been running it as a more fair business with much better business practices. One of which was paying her employees health insurance completely, and the other was giving them time off, if they were sick, their kids home without daycare assistance, and none of it came from their own leave. She simply paid them for that time while the pandemic was going on.
Diamond Tiara had made a donation, and then in the comments added that Farmland Eatables would be donating three months worth of groceries to Junebug’s family free of charge, along with a freezer to keep the food frozen. It was an Unexpected Kindness that she didn’t expect to see.

The sounds of the sweet notes flowing from the contrabass filled the room. Octavia lovingly played the classical sounds of a time long since passed, and as she did occasionally there would be a slight tempo created via Vinyl’s rig. She looked toward her girlfriend, no her wife, and saw her focusing on the turntables and keyboard. Octavia would have had to be deft and blind to not have noticed how talented Vinyl was. There were a dozen DJ’s that worked in Canterlot City, but most of them used laptops to make samples and include those samples into their music.
Vinyl’s creations were each original, and each done on the fly. She practically oozed talent. It was one of the things that drew Octavia to her. Well, that and the fact that Vinyl could play her as well as she played her Contrabass. She continued to play and then Octavia heard what Vinyl was trying to do. Soon there was a steady beat, the mixing sound she was hearing was a couple of cheap records that Vinyl had picked up with the classical music she was playing now.
She began to follow Vinyl’s lead, the music taking them deeper into the passion both of them had. The sounds of the 1812 overture suddenly combined with rave music might have sounded odd in concept, but in actual attempt it was magical. She played with Vinyl as she followed her lover’s lead. The speed, slow, gentle, rough, all came together to form something glorious. She breathed out hard once the song ended. She leaned against the chair, finally taking notice to see that her Contrabass had been pulled deeper between her thighs. Her skirt was pushed up, and she felt a little self conscious that she wasn’t wearing panties today. She looked toward Vinyl who smiled, walked toward her, and moved the contrabass. She began to say something when her wife kissed her lips.
“Lean back Tavi,” she whispered.
How could she refuse such a request? Vinyl began to play her. Like any good practitioner she took her time to get a feel for the instrument. Once she was certain that Vinyl had tuned her correctly she felt the first stirring of the notes. Vinyl was going for something slow, loving, caressing, and she followed her lover’s lead. The first few notes were simple, a push, a rise, a minor fall and a major lift. She the baffled queen composing her own hallelujah.
The way she was there was as if she tied her to the kitchen chair. Each loving note was breaking any perceived throne, and at that moment to continue she’d do anything, even let Vinyl cut her hair. And all she could do was let Vinyl draw from her lips the Hallelujah. There’s a blaze of light in every word, and it didn’t matter which she heard, the holy or the broken Hallelujah. She knew that Vinyl did her best, but what she gave back wasn’t much.

Home, finally home. They had been tested, quarantined, and finally the three of them were found to not be carriers. Lemon Zest never thought that she would be so glad to see their home again. Granted doing some fun stuff in the changing rooms of a few clothing stores was fun, but there was something nice about an actual bed. She did notice that she was feeling a little off, but not really sick. Actually, she’d been feeling a little off for about a month and a half. She racked her brain as she tried to figure out what was going on.
A sudden feeling of dread ran down her spine as she realized that she hadn’t had her monthly visitor in nearly two months. She walked toward their bathroom, and in the bottom of the cabinet there were several tests. She took one out, read the directions, and proceeded to do exactly what it asked. The next ten minutes were agonizing as she waited to for the information on if she was or wasn’t.
When her phone beeped to let her know that the time was up she rushed over to the test. There, on the surface, were two plus symbols. She groaned. There it was. She was pregnant. She was pregnant and she was going to have a baby. In truth she was not upset. She could have been, and maybe she should have been, but the truth was simply that she felt okay with it. Although she did wonder how her parents would feel about being grandparents. It wasn’t like her Sunny and Neon were married either. Which, that made her wonder how this was going to work. Would Sunny want a kid right now? She sighed, looked at the test, and then considered what she knew about her friend. Sunny was without a doubt one of the sweetest people to ever live.
There was absolutely no doubt in her mind that their child would be given anything and everything they would ever need. But at the same time, it may raise questions. Why was Sunny helping raise a child that wasn’t hers. She felt the first pangs of anxiety. There was plan b. She could go to family planning… No, that wouldn’t work. It needed to be before it got this far along. Actually, it needed to be within three days. At this point she’d have to get an abortion.
She felt her stomach, did she want to do that? Her simple answer was no. Personally, she wanted to have a baby. She wanted to give it all that her parents had given her, even punishments like being grounded. Maybe she wouldn’t call her daughter dude as much as she called her mom that, but she wanted to raise her, or if it was a boy raise him. She sat there so long she didn’t notice the sight of both Sunny and Neon as they entered the room.
“Lemon, are you okay?”
She looked up, grinned, and showed the test. There was a blank expression on Sunny’s face for a moment before she grinned brightly. She hugged Lemon Zest for all she was worth and practically sang with excitement. Neon hugged them both, obviously happy, and as they stood there Lemon finally voiced the nagging worry that had entered her mind, “Sunny, ummm, how can we make this work? I mean people are going to notice that you’re helping to take care of a baby that’s… well you know.”
They slowly separated, and Sunny Flare looked at her.
“It doesn’t matter,” she said.
Lemon looked confused, “But the scandal.”
She shook her head, “No, it really doesn’t matter Lemon. This is our baby. All three of ours, and I don’t care. I made it through Anon and his terrible tape he made of… Well never mind. I made it through that. I can make it through this. Besides, I believe that everyone will accept this, and even if they don’t, I will simply refuse to consider any other alternatives.”
She smiled, “Good, I’d do the… alternative if I had to, but I really didn’t want to.”
Sunny looked at her, shocked, “Please, Lemon, never even suggest that again.”
