By the Gods, screams were everywhere, explosions tore the land asunder and mighty shadows loomed across the lands. He was there, he saw and fought the endless invaders. It was all for naught. Billions came from the sky and from the ground rose a billion more. They were everywhere everywhere everywhere. All was dead dead dead. How could we come back from this? - Translated from a Baron's diary.

He felt cold, so unbelievably cold. Wether it was from blood loss or the chilly arena he died in, he didn't know. But the cold bit every part of his seemingly non-existent body in whatever endless void he was surrounded by. This couldn't be the afterlife, could it? If so, he expected a lot more than... This... He didn't have to wait long before pain overtook his form, agonizing pain that came in wave after wave. Then came the feeling of his body, he could feel his limbs aching and his muscles screaming, but movement wasn't an option. Not long after came smell, he could smell fire, burning wood, at least 30 different scents of other creatures and strangely enough, a faint smell of perfume. After taking in the different scents his taste returned next, wich was mostly the nauseatingly bitter and steel taste of gone off ether and blood. Finally, his sight came back ever so slowly, small specks of intruding light turned into big spots of various colors, shapes and sizes. As those spots became more and more clear he began to notice two things. The first was that he was most definetly not in the reef anymore, the second was that he was hanging limp in a tree, wich seemed to bend under his giant four-armed frame. He tried moving his fingers bit by bit, that succeeded. The arms needed a little more encouragement but eventually they got there. He shifted his arms ever so slightly and, despite the pain coursing through them telling him to do otherwise, he brought them into his field of view. They looked beaten, bloodied and thinner than he remembered. His fingers being nearly skeletal. He waited in his hanging position for what he thought was a few minutes to let the pain lessen and let everything sink in. Here he was, the mighty wolf kell, bloodied and beaten hanging in a tree's leaves like an oversized yet paralized bird.

Minutes had passed when he finally decided to put the rest of his body to work. Ever so slowly he grabbed some of the thicker branches and moved his legs down the tree, wich went about as smoothly as a ride through Cabal territory as he lost his grip and plummeted down to get a facefull of dirt. Well, at least he could see his surroundings better. Speaking of, the tree he was in was in the corner of what appeared to be a castle's garden if the white walls and golden fences were any indication. He also found himself being stared at by some black, scaly critter with horns and wings. It looked a bit Hive-ish, a bit too Hive-ish for his tastes. The creature stood at maybe five to six feet tall on bipedal, digitigrade legs with hooves, wich should be little under waist height when compared to himself. It had small holes in it's legs similar to those of newborn Thrall and slightly oversized blue eyes that stared at him with a mixture of shock, horror and even a bit of hostility.

''The hay are you?''

Human speech. Great machine be damned, this creature spoke human! What little he understood of it, not like he cared for it anyway, the thing asked a question. A question that will remain unanswered seeing as he only understood the word 'you'. The thing, still staring like it had seen a ghost, was expecting an answer. Great. He should've really listened to his advisors more about interspecies communication...

''Hey! Can you hear me? I asked you a question! Now answer, or i will report this to the Queen, and she won't like it when some big four-armed dummy is interrupting her very important business!''

Okay, now the creature was all hostility. From the few words he did understand he said something about a queen and a big four-arm- Wait... That's him! Did this creature just insult THE Skolas, the Rabid, Kell of House Wolves, soon to be Kell of Kells? How dare it... Well, time to put this insect whelp in it's place. He noticed he was still on the floor, and got up, though slowly and a bit messy. Now that he was standing up, a little slouched and trembling, but still up, he was going to show this creature what it meant to be eliksni, to be ferocious, to be without remorse! He sucked in all the air he could ,without coughing it all back up, and unleashed a deafening roar that, despite sounding a little off from his usual tone, did it's job well. The creature flinched, spread it's wings and fled the garden, only to smash through a window a bit later from the sound of it. Well, crisis averted, scum put in it's place, time to check his surroundings, but first check himself. He just noticed his thinner frame, the way his armor didn't fit right anymore, that he was smaller than usual. He was horribly malnourished and wounded. Whatever happened in that damned arena, his guess was that there was a good chunk of time between then and now. But the good thing was that he still had his armor in the first place, what remained of it anyway. His weapons were nowhere to be found, but he did still have 2 shock sabres that were originally meant for his weak arms, whilst the strong wielded firearms. In the state he was in now, the sabres were a perfect size for his strong arms, well, upper arms, they didn't feel all that strong anymore. Self-check complete, now his surroundings. He had already put together that he was in a garden in the middle of daylight, but a little more intel couldn't hurt, right? He looked around and found that the castle was quite tall, with white, shining towers hundreds of feet tall. There were beautifully made windows that told tales of heroic deeds and beating villains and stuff, he didn't care about that. What did interest him was the figures they displayed. They could have passed as human if they didn't have equine heads and legs. Most notable were the constantly returning blue and white figures that seemed to be present every two to three windows, either in a motherly fashion, or in battle armor with White wielding a golden spear and Blue wielding a blue-ish longsword.

Alright, enough gazing at art today, he was hungry, in pain and in unknown territory. He saw 2 exits on either side of him, one that lead into the heart of the castle wich he found most tempting. Who knows what goodies hide in there, just waiting to be taken? On the other side though, there could be more wannabe Hive bugs hiding within the castle's walls. Normally he wouldn't have a problem with such small game, but in his current state he wouldn't want to be swarmed by Hive. Never again.
The other exit led outside, or at least it looked like it went outside due to the lack of marble architecture on the other side of the gate, but for all he knew, it could lead to an endless pit. Going inside had a promise of bounty and loot, perhaps even weapons and ammunition. On the other hand, there was escape and a chance to recover. He chose the latter option against his will, the loot could wait for now.

The gate itself was made of blindingly shining silver bars that stretched at least twice his height in a wide frame of gold that could easily fit his own heavy pike between it. Lifting it would be hard, but with determination and will he would throw this gate out of his wa- nevermind. This thing easily weighed several metric tons, despite it looking way lighter than that. He wasn't out of options yet, though. He would do what eliksni could do like no other, simply climb over the wall! He stretched his still aching muscles and loosened his joints with satisfying pops and started to look for any kind of cracks that his fingers could hold on to, wich was difficult with how smooth this goddamn wall was. Several minutes of fiddling with the wall and loose bricks had given him a somewhat decent chance at climbing. Normally he wouldn't have had a problem. Hell, he'd once raced one of his Barons to climb up the observation deck window of his ketch in the middle of Old Russian winter and won by a mile. He just didn't posses the strenght for it anymore. He was already an old eliksni as it was, now that he was wounded and starving as well? Fat chance he'd make it even halfway. He had made it a quarter up the wall before he already felt his muscles screaming at him to stop. He had easily thirty-five feet of wall left to climb, and he wasn't looking forward to it. With each pull and grab the pain intensified tenfold but he would persevere! Eliksni like him didn't give up so easily, old bastard or not, this wall would be conquered! It took him 10 agonizing minutes but he made it, he sat atop the gold and marble wall short of breath and in pain but victorious. A small grin made it's way across his face, well, the eliksni equivalent of one at least, not that anyone would ever see it with his giant helmet covering his face, but there was a grin nonetheless. He swore he could hear a faint screech from the castle just as his four eyes caught a gigantic purple-pink blast of energy hitting him square across every part of his body, it felt utterly bonecrunching as he was sent off of the Canterlot walls down the mountain below.

Author's Note

First chapter complete, that didn't go as bad as i thought it would. Anyways, i'm planning on doing this story for a while, though you can't expect consistent updates. Oh yeah, the characters are anthro as well!

I thought that i would start this with Nightmare Moon's return and have Skolas face off against her and have the Mane 6 run into them midfight wich would cause drama and blahdeblahdieblah. But i thought this would be a better start, a calmer start, get to know our big Wolfie kell a little better before dropping him into big things.

I'm also planning to bring Dusk and the remnants over to equestria after some time, but I first want to establish the Wolves as the main story focus before I bring the rest of the eliksni remnants in here.

Any mistakes in the story? Let me know so i can fix them! My keyboards busted and i'm too broke to get a new one so you'll just have to endure it.
