Moon in the Waters
Catch a Falling Leaf
Load Full StoryNext ChapterPyro was sitting in the Canterlot park, little wisps of fire coming from her horn. She saw leaves falling, and sprung over to them, trying to catch them like a small filly. She always believed that catching one granted you a wish. Pyro flew through the air, every leaf just out of her reach. Her normally white cheeks were red from the cold air, her bright brown mane glinting in the sun. Her face was barely more than a wide smile. Ponies stared, but Pyro didn't care, catching a leaf was all that mattered. She jumped higher and father, but the leaves just didn't want near her hoof. However much, she'd like to keep going, Pyro had to stop for a moment. Her hip ached, but like it did as a filly. A flame burst from her horn, scaring quite a few ponies. Pyro looked at the pink sky. The sun was setting. She stood up, watched for a moment, then started trotting home. Her face to the ground, she shuffled along. The streets were dark now, but Pyro wasn't scared. Not too much, at least. She lit a small flame with her horn and walked on. Then, a flash of orange fell in front of her face. Not thinking, she snatched it with her hoof. It was a leaf. She gasped, then laughed. She put her mouth to the leaf and whispered, "I wish I could embark on a journey with princess Luna." She looked around. No night princess anywhere. "I guess it's just a house mare's tail." She sighed, and trotted home.
