7: Pursuing Honesty

Previous Chapter

An orange pony sat on her dresser, running a apple-red brush through her blonde mane. She tried her best to tame the mess that was her hair, and grimaced at her reflection as her mane puffed up, much to her dismay. After a few more minutes of trying to make her hair somewhat manageable, she shrugged her shoulders in defeat and grabbed the red hair ribbon from her dresser, tying her hair in a loose side ponytail, as she did every day, as it was every day that her hair decided to not perform.

Applejack was getting ready for a date with Rainbow Dash. At least, she thought it was a date. After her friends, Twilight and her girlfriends, pressured them quite heavily into discussing their feelings for each other, it was simply fate that Rainbow Dash would ask Applejack to the Cloudsdale fair.

Applejack adjusted her fringe in the mirror quickly, attempting to slick it down but to no avail. She fluffed it lightly and left it at that. She trotted to the bathroom, picking up her toothbrush and quickly brushing her teeth and tongue, extra good just in case.

Applejack never really thought about the implications of her fond relationship with Rainbow Dash. Sure, she always felt a kindness towards Rainbow Dash that she didn't feel for other ponies, but that was just because they had so much in common. They were both ponies of athletic nature, although Applejack preferred getting down to the dirty work, while Rainbow Dash preferred the more sporty side, and showing off. She liked competing with Rainbow Dash, but she also liked when they simply sat down and talked. She hoped this would be a chance to do so with her pegasus friend.

Applejack quickly ran some water over her face, and looked at herself confidently in the mirror. She had nothing to worry about, after all her and Rainbow Dash went way back. They were friends much longer than they had been romantically interested in each other, as far as she knew. It was basically just two mares hanging out.

Then again, Applejack thought to herself, she did kiss Rainbow Dash on the cheek the last time they saw each other. She was on the way out, and it just felt right. Almost like how a mother kisses their child to show that they care for them.

Sigh.

Applejack quietly waited on the side of her bed, for that fateful knock on the door, which would presumably be Rainbow Dash. She toyed with her hair as she waited, brushing her hooves through the ends and making sure it was neat enough. After a few minutes, she heard a confident knock knock knock against the door downstairs. She quickly got up from her seated position and went towards the door.

She opened the door, revealing a blue pegasus with a rainbow mane. She had the most beautiful cerise eyes, starring back at Applejack and deep into her mind. Applejack gave her a kind smile.

"Ya ready to go?"

30 minutes earlier

Rainbow Dash flew from one corner of the room to another, leaving a gust of wind behind her as she dashed across the house, getting ready for her date with none other than her dear friend, Applejack.

She quickly wetted her hooves in the sink, tussled her mane, and looked at herself in the mirror, puffing out her chest with a confidence. She then flew back to her bed and threw the sheets on top of each other messily, then rushed back to the sink to brush her teeth.

Rainbow Dash tried to get every corner of her mouth brushed, using an ungodly amount of toothpaste in the process. Once her teeth were sparkly, she smiled to herself and quickly flossed before heading out the door.

Rainbow Dash, to say the least, was nervous. She was going on a date with a mare that she really liked, for a long time. It had been years since Rainbow Dash became fond of Applejack, subtly pining for her attention throughout the years. It was all thanks to Trixie and her persistent agenda that made all this happen. Rainbow Dash felt grateful, but still a bit erratic.

Thoughts like, I can't mess this up and what if she doesn't like me? ran through Rainbow Dash's head as she flew down to Ponyville, and she felt herself begin to sweat, which she usually didn't do unless she was nervous. She quickly reached just above the ground of Ponyville, then flew straight over it at quite a speed- ponies who saw her pass by gawked at her speed.

She winked at a few of the ponies as she passed by, but she didn't mean anything by it. That was just a part of being so awesome. She had to give the ponies what they wanted.

She dashed towards Sweet Apple Acres, the destination that she could never tire of going to. She felt the wind in her mane, as it ruffled her wing feathers as she zoomed across the apple fields. She quickly zoomed by a tree and picked an apple off the top, in a cool manner. She held the apple in her mouth as she flew towards the main house at which Applejack lived.

Landing on her hooves and taking in a deep breath, she reached her hoof up to the door, hesitating before she knocked. She adjusted her mane, floofing her bangs so they spiked upwards messily, and swiped her hair to the side.

C'mon Rainbow, it's just a date.

She knocked on the door three times, and waited, sweating all over, but putting on a brave face. Within a few seconds, an orange pony who looked particularly stunning answered the door.

"Ya ready to go?" Applejack said, smiling at Rainbow Dash fondly. Rainbow Dash's heart rate increased to over 100.

"Yeah, totally. Yes." Rainbow Dash wiped some sweat from her mane and awkwardly wiped her hoof on her fur. Great going, Dash.

Applejack stepped out of the door, and began walking towards the path out of Sweet Apple Acres. Rainbow Dash stood there awkwardly, then got the memo and began walking alongside her.

"So we're goin' to Twilight's first to get the spell to walk on clouds, right?" Applejack asked, her lower body slightly making contact with Dash's as she walked. Rainbow Dash took it as a good sign, but then again she could just be really bad at walking in a straight line.

"Um," Rainbow Dash said, reaching into her pocket to grab a small vile. "Actually, Zecora gave me this."

Applejack grabbed the vile from Rainbow Dash, and examined it. It was a small glass vile with a wooden cork, with white clearish liquid on the inside. When she tipped it over, the liquid moved from one part of the vile to the other, but it appeared to be quite thick.

"She said it'll do the same thing as Twilight's spell," Rainbow Dash said to Applejack.

"What is it?" Applejack asked, staring at the liquid in the bottle as they walked.

"Zecora said something like, goat- goat something. Started with an S." Rainbow Dash upward, trying to think of the name, but nothing came to her at that moment.

"Weird," Applejack said before downing the vile. Rainbow Dash suddenly remembered the name of the substance, and put her hoof up to stop Applejack, but it was too late. She decided it was better she didn't know.

Rainbow Dash suddenly flew up into the air above Applejack, and picked her up by the waist, and Applejack let out a squeak as she lifted above the ground.

"What in the hay are you doing, Rainbow?" Applejack said, flailing her hooves mid-air.

"How else are we going to get to Cloudsdale?" Rainbow Dash chuckled as she lifted Applejack further into the air. As soon as she was a reasonable height above the ground, she flew forward, as slow as she could go (which wasn't very slow) but slowly increasing in pace, for Applejack's sake.

Applejack made several sounds of fear and discomfort as she was lifted further off the ground, but ultimately submitted to her fate. Rainbow Dash lifted herself and her earth pony friend further off the ground, until they were soaring upwards towards Cloudsdale.

"How ya doin' down there, AJ?" Rainbow Dash asked, looking down for a moment to make sure Applejack was okay. She made sure her grip on Applejack was strong and secure.

"Terrified!" Applejack responded with a positive tone, conflicting with her choice of words.

Soon, they arrived on the cloud that was Cloudsdale; Rainbow Dash hesitantly put Applejack back on her hooves, making sure she didn't fall through the clouds and that Zecora's potion had worked.

Applejack adjusted her mane as she landed on the ground, gaining her composure. She stretched her hooves and neck as Rainbow Dash looked at her awkwardly.

"So, where's the fair?" Applejack said, looking back at Rainbow Dash with bright eyes.

"Um... uh..." Rainbow Dash stared at Applejack for a moment, no words coming to her mind. "It's in the main part of town."

"I don't reckon I've ever been to the main part of Cloudsdale," Applejack said, rustling her fringe with her hoof. "I always assumed it was just one big cloud."

Rainbow Dash giggled at Applejack for a moment. "It is, technically." she said, smiling widely. "It's just a big cloud with a city on it."

Applejack huffed and stomped her hoof into the cloud ground, but the clouds broke beneath her as she did so. She stumbled and misplaced her hooves as she took in the sight of the ground crumbling before her fist.

Rainbow Dash laughed at Applejack from her chest, then said, "Welcome to Cloudsdale. We don't have ground."

"Why does it break when I hit it?" Applejack asked, feeling along the clouds with her hoof. It felt like really soft ground, but if you put too much pressure on it, it caved in. She could see why wings were required.

"You can kick clouds away, and the ground Cloudsdale is made out of is no different. Most pegasai usually just fly above the ground." Rainbow Dash said, demontrating by flying up in the air slightly and delivering a fatal blow to the clouds beneath her. The ground temporarily caved in, the clouds around it evaporating, leaving a hole. It slowly closed up as the clouds merged together once again.

"Weird." Applejack muttered simply, brushing off the weird phenomenon and continuing to walk ahead of Rainbow Dash. "You comin'?"

"Yeah. Yes. Totally." Rainbow Dash said, flying towards Applejack so she flew beside her.

They walked beside each other for quite a while, and every once in awhile Rainbow Dash looked over at Applejack to see how she was doing, and each time she got distracted by her. Rainbow Dash was stunned by her beauty; it seemed like she put extra effort into her appearance, which only furthered Rainbow Dash's confidence that this was a date. Whenever Applejack would make eye contact with her, she'd quickly look away and try to look casual. Rainbow didn't want to come on too strong, at least not yet.

Applejack noticed Rainbow Dash catching glimpses of her, and she found it cute. It felt good knowing someone was checking in on her. She could feel Rainbow's glance on her sometimes, which could be awkward, but it felt loving in a strange way. She smiled to herself silently.

After a few more minutes of walking, and Rainbow catching occasional glances of Applejack, Rainbow Dash stopped in her tracks. Applejack took a few more steps before realizing Rainbow Dash had stopped, then she turned around to face Dash, raising her eyebrows at the rainbow pony.

"Why'd we stop?" Applejack asked, looking at Dash.

"The fair is just up there," Rainbow vaguely pointed in the distance, and if you squinted, you could see a ferris wheel, barely in the distance. "Let's race. Loser has to buy lunch." Rainbow Dash smiled cockily at AJ.

Applejack smirked at Rainbow Dash. "It's on."

"Ready, set go!" Rainbow Dash said, blasting off and leaving a trail of cloud dust in Applejack's face.

Applejack scrunched up her face in frustration before running to catch up to Rainbow Dash. As soon as she was to just behind Rainbow Dash, Rainbow looked behind her at Applejack and stuck her tongue out at her playfully. Applejack then took that as an opportunity to catch Rainbow off guard and pass her.

"Hey!" Rainbow Dash shouted, using her wings to propel her forward. Applejack quickly looked behind her when she heard the sound of feathers, and scrunched her nose.

"Hey, no wings!" Applejack shouted, a few feet ahead of Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash immediately put her wings to her side, retracting them so the race would be fair.

It felt nice, racing with Rainbow Dash, Applejack thought. They had spent so much time being fluffy to each other, it was getting gross. Part of their relationship was competing, anyway, it didn't have to be all mush. She liked it much better this way.

In the end, they approached the Cloudsdale fair, which they could tell was the Cloudsdale fair by the giant sign that read CLOUDSDALE FAIR: FUN IN THE AIR. Applejack thought it was tacky.

They both stopped in their tracks, out of breath and breathing heavily. They looked at each other with now messy manes, although Rainbow Dash's was close to being quite messy before.

"So who won?" Applejack asked, wishing she had some water on hoof by now. She wiped sweat from her forehead in exhaustion.

"Heck if I know, I was too busy beating you. I thought you'd keep track." Rainbow Dash held her chest as she gasped to regain her breath.

Applejack sighed in frustration. "So we did all that runnin' for nothin'?"

"We can just say I won," Rainbow Dash grinned at Applejack. Applejack smiled back at her, even though the idea of giving up in defeat to Rainbow Dash was repulsive.

Applejack bumped her flank against Rainbow's, and motioned with her hoof for them to go inside the fair. Rainbow Dash blushed a deep red, and quickly caught up with her... date?

They looked around as they entered under the big sign that proudly announced the name of the fair, and Applejack stood in shock at what she saw. There was a ferris wheel, except it was exceptionally high in the air; it was like a skyscraper. The rollercoasters also went up, into the clouds above them: they were much more extreme than the rides that Ponyville had at their fair. Pegasai seemed to like dangerous things. Applejack gulped. She was not a pegasus.

Rainbow Dash didn't think twice to invite Applejack to her hometown fair, but the thought was striking her last minute: would ponies judge Applejack for being an earth pony? Usually, they wouldn't, as that was resolved long ago, but the cloud of Cloudsdale was a homogeneous society, entirely. There were usually rarely any pegasai, and they really only saw earth ponies and unicorns when they went down on the ground. Seeing an earth pony at a traditionally pegasus event would maybe attract some unwanted attention, Rainbow Dash thought.

"So, what do you wanna do first, AJ?" Rainbow Dash asked, looking at Applejack and trying to read how comfortable she was.

"Um," Applejack said, digging her hoof nervously into the clouds beneath her. "We could eat somethin'?"

Rainbow Dash thought for a moment. "Is it really a good idea to eat something before we ride rides?"

Applejack let out an "oh" in realization, then held her head down, starring at the ground and refusing to make eye contact with Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dash noticed this, and tried to think of ways to make Applejack more comfortable. She quickly moved closer to Applejack and put a hoof around her. "Don't be nervous, if anypony so much as looks at you weirdly I'll sonic rainboom them to the next dimension."

Applejack giggled at Rainbow Dash and leaned into her embrace subtly. "I don't reckon that's how that works, but whatever ya say, Dash."

Rainbow Dash smiled and patted Applejack's back lovingly. "I'll show you my favorite ride in the history of Equestria, okay?" she said, putting emphasis on her words.

Applejack nodded her head and the two started moving forward towards their destination, lead by Rainbow Dash, who seemed to know her way around the place that was unfamiliar to Applejack.

They walked side by side, neither trying to race one another or compete for most athletic pony: just walking together. Applejack marveled at the different cloud-shaped things in the fair; some were in the shape of sculptures, and some were even flavored and edible, sold at little stands along the path. There were many rides, and Applejack wondered which one would be the one Rainbow Dash was leading her towards.

As they entered the more populated area of the fair, Applejack noticed that not a single pegasus besides Rainbow Dash was bound to the ground. Whenever they passed a pony, the pony would give Applejack a weird glance, then go back to their own business. It gave her a weird feeling, like she didn't belong there, which she didn't.

Rainbow Dash also noticed the weird glances Applejack was getting, and noticed that they weren't just looking at Applejack, but at her, too. She wasn't flying, which was abnormal for a pegasus in Cloudsdale. Some pegasai who grew up in Cloudsdale barely ever see other pegasai walk around, much less see a unicorn or an earth pony. She felt self conscious, but kept her wings closed as a curtesy to Applejack.

As they walked along the fair grounds, talking together and pointing things out to each other that they thought were cool, they heard the voice of a colt coming from a line for cloud cotton candy.

"Mommy, why does that pony not have wings?" the colt asked his mother, quite loudly, right in front of Rainbow Dash and Applejack. Applejack stopped in her tracks and Rainbow Dash's eyes widened as she stopped as well.

"Some ponies don't, sweetie." the mother replied, more interested in her phone than her kid.

Applejack blushed as she looked over at the colt, and Rainbow Dash's face also blushed, but in a more angry way.

"I can totally go over there and beat him up, AJ." Rainbow Dash offered, but Applejack shook her head.

"It's alright, Dash." she smiled warily at Rainbow Dash. "Are we almost there?"

"Yeah," Rainbow Dash said casually, after quickly giving the colt and his mother an angry glare, making sure Applejack didn't catch her. "It's just up there."

Rainbow Dash pointed with her hoof to a ride just barely up the path: it was a roller coaster called the Wing Killer, and it went up high into the clouds, looping multiple times in the process. Applejack caught sight of the carts speeding past on the track, and they seemed to not only be higher than a regular rollercoaster, but faster, too.

"Are all these rides that.... thrilling?" Applejack said, grimacing as she walked towards the ride with Rainbow Dash, each step seeming to make the giant ride even larger in comparison to her pony size.

"Um, well duh." Rainbow Dash grinned at AJ. "If our rides were boring, it'd just be like flying."

Applejack nodded her head in understanding, but still skeptical of the whole idea.

They approached the roller coaster, and a sign read: WING KILLER: Ultra Speed. Applejack cringed. The rollercoaster was not the most terrifying part: the most terrifying part was the line.

The line stretched across the path, at least 300 ponies stood waiting in line for the ride. Applejack turned to Rainbow Dash and pointed to the line, "Are we really 'supose to wait that long?"

Rainbow Dash shook her head and smiled. "Trust me." Applejack decided that trusting her was the stupidest option, but also the best option.

Rainbow Dash approached the front of the line, and hoof-bumped the ticket-counter. "Hey, Thunder!" she said, doing a weird hoofshake with the stallion.

Applejack stood there questioning her, until the stallion responded. "Hey, Rainbow Dash! Good to see you again. Come on through." Rainbow Dash shoot Applejack a grin and they walked through the front of the line, directly into where you board the ride.

"You know that colt?" Applejack asked, raising her eyebrow at Rainbow Dash.

"Hell yeah," Rainbow Dash responded. "He's like, a family friend, so yeah."

Applejack shrugged her shoulders and accept the answer. Of course there were ponies that only Dash knew, in Cloudsdale. She had a whole separate life, up in the clouds, while Applejack was stuck to only one life in Ponyville.

They both got into the same row of the roller coaster together, buckling themselves in, and Applejack braced herself. Rainbow Dash looked excited, and Applejack smiled at her happiness, in spite of her nervousness.

The ride began, starting from 0 and quickly to one hundred as they zoomed towards the first loop. Applejack's hair was flying in the wind as they speeded into the loop, turning upside down. As they were going around the loop, the wind picked up and a strong gust blew Applejack's ponytail out of place and the ribbon loosened, falling off the side of the cart, to the ground. Applejack tried to grab it to no avail, and now her hair was flowing in the wind freely. Rainbow Dash didn't seem to notice.

The ride went on and on, looping so many times, Applejack lost count. Rainbow Dash was laughing and making sounds of enjoyment, while Applejack was screaming at the high speeds and jerking movements. She felt like this ride was fully capable of breaking her back.

Rainbow Dash was excited to show her friend something she loved, and she had waited the whole year to ride the Wing Killer again. Riding it was a tradition that she loved, starting from when she was a filly.

The ride came to a halt, suddenly, stopping so fast that it threw Applejack's back onto the back of the seat so forcibly, she almost let out a squeal.

"What was that?" Applejack asked, stuck in mid-air on the ride on the top of one of the highest loops in the ride.

"The ride stopped," Rainbow Dash said with a bit frustration. "Hey, why'd it stop?!" she shouted, hoping to get an answer, but the ponies on the ride with her were just as confused as she was.

Suddenly, a pegasus with a megaphone from down below the ride, hundreds of feet down, shouted at the top of his lungs through the megaphone, "THE RIDE IS DOWN RIGHT NOW. PLEASE REMAIN CALM."

Applejack let out a groan. "I'm gonna be sick, Dash."

"Shit," Rainbow Dash said, putting a hoof on Applejack's shoulder.

"Why can't we just fly out of the rollercoaster?" a mare said from the back of the cart, unbuckling her seatbelt and flying down to the ground. Several other ponies followed her advance.

Rainbow Dash looked at Applejack, and Rainbow Dash unbuckled her seatbelt and flew above Applejack, who also unbuckled her seatbelt. Rainbow Dash picked up Applejack by the waist and slowly flew her down to the ground.

"Hoo boy!" Applejack shouted as she landed. "I sure did miss the ground!" Some ponies who overheard her gave her a strange look before noticing she was an earth pony and making a confused face before walking away. Rainbow Dash gave them a glare each time.

"What now?" Dash asked, looking around for something to do next.

"I'm mighty hungry," Applejack said, "I could do for some hayburgers."

Rainbow Dash nodded her head in agreement, and the two set off for the nearest hayburger shop.

While walking, Rainbow Dash put a hoof around Applejack, in a way that made Applejack's heart beat faster and her face turn red. This was starting to feel like less of a friendly hangout and more like a date, Applejack thought.

"Hey, how about Cloudburger? I heard it's the best hayburgers in Cloudsdale." Rainbow Dash pointed a hoof at a shop that had an ordering stand and a place to sit with tables and chairs. The line was reasonable, so Applejack doubted it was really all that special. Applejack nodded her head in agreement, willing to eat anything after such a workout on the roller coaster.

They both got into the line, waiting patiently for their turn. Rainbow Dash's arm remained around Applejack the entire time. Applejack couldn't seem to escape the red blush covering her cheeks.

After a few moments of awkward silence and Rainbow gently holding Applejack close, they finally reached the front of the line. At the front stood a skinny stallion who looked young, maybe still in school, awaiting to take their order.

"W-what w-would you like today, g-girls?" the stallion asked, fumbling over his words in an awkward manner. He seemed nervous. It was weird.

"I'll have a hayburger with extra hay and grape jam." Rainbow Dash ordered, not even bothering to read the menu.

"C-coming right up. W-what for you, m-miss?" the stallion turned to Applejack after writing down Rainbow Dash's order.

"I'll have a hayburger with pickles and ketchup." she ordered, and the stallion wrote it down on his notepad with a fumbly hand.

The stallion went to the back and announced their order, and they went to find a seat. They found one that was where nobody else was, quite empty compared to the other open spots. They sat down at their table and began waiting for their food.

"So, um... Applejack?" Rainbow Dash piped up after several moments of silence, looking towards Applejack with wide eyes.

"Yeah, Dash?" Applejack had her arms behind her head, relaxing in her seat after a stressful ride.

Rainbow hesitated, before ultimately blurting out her words in an awkward fashion: "Is this a date?" Rainbow Dash turned red as she stared at Applejack inquisitively.

"Um..." Applejack thought for a moment. It kind of was, but she kind of didn't intend for it to be. It just kind of happened. "I suppose if you think it is, then it is. And if you think it isn't, then it isn't."

"What do you think?" Rainbow Dash said, discarding all of her worries and anxiety about coming on too strong. She wanted to know what she was getting herself into, and gauge Applejack's comfort levels.

"I think... I feel mighty strongly towards you, but I'm used to us just being friends, so a date would be kind of... weird." Applejack tousled her hair that was now splayed along her shoulders, free of any hair tie for once in her life.

"Yeah," Rainbow Dash responded. "You just look so crazy hot with your hair down, it's hard to not consider this a date."

Applejack's eyes widened in response, then she laughed out loud.

"Um, thanks, I guess." Applejack smiled at her date. "It is your fault I lost it, though."

"Sorry about that," Rainbow Dash made a sad face.

Applejack chuckled. "It's mighty okay," she said with a smile. Dash smiled back at her.

"Applejack?" Rainbow Dash piped up, leaning into Applejack as they sat right next to each other. Applejack looked at her questioningly.

"Yeah, Dash?" Applejack responded, squeezing Rainbow Dash's hoof in response.

"Do you have any idea how much I think you are awesome?" Rainbow Dash nuzzled into Applejack's loose mane as the words left her mouth.

"Um, no." Applejack responded, pulling away from Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash retracted reluctantly, and Applejack distanced herself from Rainbow Dash.

"What?" Rainbow Dash asked, and Applejack turned away, pulling her hair into a braid and reaching into her pocket for a hair tie. She then got up.

"I've gotta go to the bathroom, be right back." Applejack replied, tying her hair up into a braid and then walking away, leaving Rainbow Dash high and dry, and confused.

Rainbow Dash sat there, dumbfounded, for a few minutes before the stallion waiter approached her. He held a plate with two hayburgers, and sat it down on the table she sat at as she slouched. The stallion reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper, wrote on it with a pen, and slid it underneath the tray, then winked at Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow Dash's cheeks filled with a bright red blush as she watched the pegasus walk away. Great, Applejack hates her, and now she's got a weird nerdy 19 year old on her tail?

Rainbow Dash retrieved the note from underneath the tray and opened it up, unfolding it as her hands shook. She opened it, and it read:

Hey,

The rainbow in your mane is like fire straight to my dick. Attached is a picture of my dick.

Meet me in the back if you want to suck it.

Rainbow Dash sat there dumbfounded as she read the note. She slowly looked at the picture attached to it, and low and behold, there was a small, thumb like dick in the picture.

Rainbow Dash's first instinct was to barf, but she forgot how to move entirely. She crushed up the note and picture into a ball and threw it away, giving the hoof to the guy as she walked to the bathroom to find Applejack, leaving her tainted food behind.

In the bathroom, she burst in, and found Applejack staring at herself in the mirror, playing with her hair.

"Hey, so like, we have to leave." Rainbow Dash said, looking awkwardly at Applejack in the mirror, trying to get small penises and nerdy college students out of her mind.

"My hair never does what I want it to do," Applejack said as she fumbled with her hair, trying to get the pieces sticking out of her braid into the braid itself.

Rainbow Dash sighed. "Applejack, I got a booty call from the waiter and I'm afraid he's going to keep sending me notes with pictures of his dick on it. We need to go."

Applejack looked confused for a second, then a bit frustrated, then quickly tied her hair up and moved towards the exit.

"How are we gonna sneak out?" Rainbow Dash asked as they exited the bathroom and into the dining area, and saw the stallion working and taking orders at the front. They quickly tried to be sly and get out through the back area, and found success in this method.

They both successfully snuck out, and went down back into the main part of the fair, where all the hotspots were.

"We should look for a ride that isn't too extreme," Applejack suggested, and Rainbow Dash nodded her head in agreement.

They both walked around looking for some sort of ride that wasn't too intense, and found very little. The least extreme ride they could find was one for little foals, called When Pigs Fly, where little pig-shaped carts go around in a circle for awhile.

Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash, then to the ride, then back at Rainbow Dash, and Rainbow Dash shrugged her shoulders. They both got in line for the kiddy ride.

The line was short, literally, it was only foals and Applejack and Rainbow Dash. It was also short in length.

Applejack and Rainbow Dash quickly were boarded on the ride, getting into the pegasus pig shaped carts together. They were shoved relatively close together, making it a bit awkward; it was definitely made for foals half their size.

The ride started, and it wasn't anything special: it just went up and down in a circle. While they were on the ride, Applejack reached out and held Rainbow Dash's hoof.

Rainbow Dash's eyes widened as Applejack's hoof made contact with hers, then she accepted the embrace, as the ride went up and down in the air at a slow pace.

They sat like that for awhile, until the ride suddenly stopped and they got off with ease. Applejack decided that smaller rollercoasters are better. Rainbow Dash might have agreed at that moment.

As they exited the ride, each others hoof still entangled with the other, Rainbow Dash turned to Applejack.

"Want to go play some games? I'll totally win more than you." Rainbow Dash smirked, subtly squeezing Applejack's hoof.

Applejack made an unsure expression. "Yeah, okay sugarcube."

Together, they walked towards the arcade area, full of games such as squirt the clown in the mouth for a really long time until a balloon explodes over its head, or something, as well as balloon pop, coin toss, etcetera. There were various prizes, such as stuffed animals in all different sizes ranging from small to XXXL. Rainbow Dash had one goal: Win it all for her date, and become the more glorious potential lover one has ever seen.

Their first game of choice was the balloon pop, and a particularly large stuffed apple was Rainbow Dash's prize of choice.

"Bet I can hit more than you 20% faster!" Rainbow Dash said to Applejack, nudging her in the shoulder.

Applejack scoffed. "Yep, I bet you could." she then gave the balloon man, dressed as a clown, three bits, and he gave her three darts. She chucked them with all her might and shoulder strength across to three balloons.

Rainbow Dash mocked Applejack's scoff, and handed the clown guy 5 bits. He handed her 5 arrows, and she grabbed them, narrowing her eyes and sticking her tongue out as she aimed, preparing her swing as she focused. She threw them and hit the top left most outer balloon, and top right most outer ballon, and the bottom left and right most outer balloons.vRainbow Dash stood proudly as she admired her work. Applejack stood with her jaw dropped.

"Whatever, wing pony. Watch this!" Applejack said as she gave the guy 10 bits, and received ten arrows in return. She carefully and slowly chucked each arrow, putting just the right amount of pressure on each arrow to pop the balloon she aimed for. Soon, 8 out of 10 balloons were popped, leaving only 5 left.

Rainbow Dash laughed. "I don't suppose you were trying to show off by missing 2." Rainbow Dash smiled at her date and Applejack frowned.

"Then try getting the last five," Applejack replied, pointing at the remaining 5 balloons.

Rainbow Dash stuck her tongue out at Applejack and gave the guy her 5 bits. He gave her five darts in return. She quickly put the five darts in her wings, holding them by the feathers. She quickly chucked the darts at the five remaining balloons, throwing them so hard that the darts got stuck in the wooden board behind the balloons. She only missed one.

"Good job ladies!" the clown pony said enthusiastically in a high pitched voice, "You can now get one of the x-large sized prizes!"

Rainbow Dash pointed at the big apple, and the clown guy shook his head. "That's size xx-large."

"Bull," Rainbow Dash said, her face turning a shade of red. She quickly gave the guy 20 bits, and he gave her all the arrows. She quickly threw all of them at the balloons once they inflated, hitting every single one on the target.

"Can we have the apple now?" Rainbow Dash said cockily, raising her eyebrows at the stallion.

"Um, I'm not really supposed to give it out." he said, scratching his head in an apologetic sense.

Rainbow Dash flared her nostrils. "Bullcrap! We paid like 40 bits for this game, just give us the damn prize!"

Applejack stared at Rainbow Dash, making an amused face. "I have a lot of apples at home, you know, Dashie. I don't really need a giant stuffed one." she smirked.

Rainbow Dash was flustered, her face a bright pink mixed with red as she was also frustrated. "What is size x-large?" she said, breathing to calm down.

"We got this pink rat, or a blue rat..." the clown man held up a large, but not extra extra large, pink rat in one hand, and a blue in the other. Rainbow Dash stared at him, unimpressed.

"We'll take the blue rat." she said bluntly. He handed her the rat and she took it with a judging look. She then walked away with Applejack.

"A bloody blue rat?" Rainbow Dash said, scoffing at the clown-dressed man behind her. "I mean, really? We killed that game, and what do we get? A rat!"

"It's a mighty cute rat, kinda looks like you." Applejack smiled at Rainbow Dash, grabbing the rat from her and comparing Dash's face to the rats. "Yep, checks out."

Rainbow Dash blushed and huffed a few times. "Yeah, too bad they didn't have an orange rat."

Applejack let out a chuckle. "That'd be Scootaloo."

Rainbow Dash's eyes widened and she started choke-laughing.

They came across a cotton candy stand, called Dreamy Cloud Candy! and Rainbow Dash salivated. Applejack noticed this, and turned them around to go to the cotton candy stand.

"What do you want?" Applejack asked Rainbow Dash, and Rainbow Dash shook her head to get out of her cotton candy trance.

"Um, rainbow." Rainbow Dash replied and Applejack chuckled.

"Of course."

Soon, Rainbow Dash had her rainbow colored cotton candy, which took a great deal of time to make. They had to create a batch of sugar colored each color of the rainbow and slowly make a rainbow-colored cloud-like cotton candy. Cloud cotton candy tasted the same as regular cotton candy, just lighter, as Applejack had concluded after her investigation.

The two walked down to the end of the fair, where it ended and all that remained were clouds. Applejack looked at Rainbow Dash, whose face was now covered in sugary goodness that was her cloud cotton candy. She giggled at the appearance of her date, and reached out to wipe off Rainbow's mouth with her hoof. Rainbow grunted as Applejack wiped the goo off her face in mild discomfort.

Applejack smiled. "I doubt this potion Zecora gave ya will last much longer, we should get headed."

Rainbow Dash stuck her tongue out at Applejack. "Yeah, it'd suck if I had to heroically save you from near death and get you to fall in love with me."

Applejack gave her a weird look, then shrugged it off. "Let's go." she said, bracing herself and closing her eyes. Rainbow Dash quickly flew up into the air and picked up Applejack by the waist, carefully bringing her up off the ground, until she was high enough to begin her journey off the cloud that was Cloudsdale and into Ponyville, which was just below Cloudsdale, to the left a little bit.

She flew Applejack over Cloudsdale, and slowly went down to Ponyville. As soon as she was just above Ponyville in the clouds that hovered above the town, she flew straight forward, towards Sweet Apple Acres, which was at the end of Ponyville. Applejack had her eyes closed the whole time, trying not to get sick.

She slowly entered the orchards of Sweet Apple Acres, flying across the apple trees as they brushed in the breeze she created as she flew at high speeds. She hugged Applejack tighter around the waist as she increased her speed.

Coming to a halt at the house that was straight in the middle of Sweet Apple Acres, holding sturdy and decorated with the finest apple tree wood, Rainbow Dash let Applejack off on the ground in front of her doorstep.

Applejack waited until Rainbow Dash was landed on the ground to slowly approach her, wrapping her hooves around her neck and creating an embrace around Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash blushed and hugged Applejack back. Just when Applejack pulled back from the hug and Rainbow Dash was prepared for that to be all it was, Applejack leaned into Rainbow
Dash's muzzle and wrapped her into a passionate kiss, slow and chaste but full of intention. Rainbow Dash kissed her back and felt her head going dizzy.

Applejack was the first to pull back, Rainbow Dash too stunned to do anything but stand there and kiss her back, and she left a quick kiss on Rainbow Dash's forehead, pulling back her messy fringe in order to do so.

Rainbow Dash blushed as Applejack pulled away, and Applejack winked at her. "See ya next time, Dash."

Rainbow Dash stood there stunned and unable to move as Applejack entered into her house and disappeared, until next time.

There was going to be a next time.

Mission accomplished.
