Twilight

Blood. The blood of her mother, father, big brother and little brother. It ran down the streets and into the cracks of the ground.

"T....T-Twilight.....Stay alive....and....don't.....give.....up....." Nightlight managed to squeak out before death embraced him and he drew his last breath.

"Dad? Dad?! DAD!!!!!! WAKE UP!!!!"

*Gasp*

Twilight shot up into a sitting position. She was sweating like crazy and breathing rapidly. Her breathing calmed down and she wiped away the sweat.

She stood up and looked around. She walked over to the river she had camped next to and filled a bottle with the water while also cleaning her face.
Suddenly movement came from a bush behind her. She pulled out a dagger and hurled it at the bush and heard a sound that is only heard when something penetrates flesh. She walked up to the bush and pulled the branches aside. What she found wasn't a person, but a wolf. She grabbed the dagger and pulled it out of the wolf's head barley avoiding being hit by the blood squirt that came out of the wound. She cleaned the dagger in the river and put it back in it's scabbard.

As she packed up her camping supplies the dream she had came back to her. She let out a sigh, put on her robe and started to walk towards the ruins of ponyville as she spoke to herself.

"It's over Twilight. It happened long ago. They're long gone. They're only.....memories."

Applejack

The smell of burned wood was still there. Even though the fire was several years ago the smell was still strong.

Applejack walked through the remains of Sweet Apple Acres reminiscing of her life before the civil war. Back then she was just an apple farmer. Nothing more, nothing less. An apple farmer through and through. But then the war started and ponyville was second place to be affected by the war as it started in canterlot. Daybreaker came to ponyille and burned the place down.

Applejack had been stargazing with her little sister from the living room window when it happened. Big Mac was in the living room with them and Granny Smith was sleeping. Heat suddenly started coming from different places of the farm house and it didn't take long for them to realize that it was fire. The ceiling collapsed over Applejack and Apple Bloom, but Big Mac had pushed them out of the way. Unfortunately he was hit by the collapsing ceiling and was trapped beneath the rubble. Applejack and Apple Bloom had tried to get it off, but Big Mac told them to go and don't worry about him. He said he would get out of it himself, but they had to get out of the house quickly.
Applejack had picked up Apple Bloom and carried her through the burning building trying to find an exit. While they were trying to get out one of the antlers hanging over the door frame had fallen down and cut over Applejack's left eye. Leaving a deep permanent scar. At that moment Applejack had had enough. She managed to get the hold of one the axes in the house and torn down the wall opening an escape route. The two sisters managed to get out just as the house itself crumbled down. Sealing Big Mac's fate.

"GRANNY SMITH!!!!!"

"BIG MAC!!!!!!!"

Applejack's eyes opened to look at the charred ruins once again. After that night she sent Apple Bloom to a nursery for treatment and shelter. The farewell was hard for both of them since they knew that they wouldn't be able to see each other until peace was restored. Applejack had chosen to stay in the remains of ponyville and she had managed to make a small hut out of some of the apple trees. Food was hard to get a hold of. There were three different ways to get food. One, be a farmer. Two, hunt for food. Three, travel to Griffonstone and trade. Applejack started with option one and ate apples and drank either apple juice or water. Eventually she grew tired of apples and started hunting. She used the apples to trade in Griffonstone. She got a crossbow (arrows included), a sword and few knives out of it.

Applejack blamed herself for a lot, but this was the biggest thing she blamed herself for.

"Why? Why couldn't I've been quicker? If I was, they would still be alive." she said to herself as her anger began to rise.
"WHY ME?!?! WHY DID IT HAVE TO HAPPEN TO ME?!?!" she screamed as she pulled out her sword and swung it at a nearby tree. The sword went halfway into the trunk before it came to a stop. She calmed down and lied down on the ground.

"Why..." she said looking up at the morning sky.

Rainbow Dash

The air blew against her face as she ran through the forest chasing a changeling that had just a few minutes ago tried to kill her. The changeling stumbled a little because of a root and Dash went for the opening. She pulled out her sickle and slashed his legs, making it impossible for him to run. She put back the sickle and pulled out a knife. Taking a firm grip of his shoulders she slammed him into a tree before she stabbed him a whole bunch of times. When she eventually stopped he fell over. Lifeless.

*Sigh* "That makes fifteen changelings this month. I swear these things are in limitless numbers." she said to herself while she cleaned the green blood off her knife and sickle.

She walked through the forest towards the opening and when she got there looked down to the remains of ponyville.

"More ruined than I thought, but stories differ." she said and walked towards the ruins.

Fluttershy

An arrow soared through the air and hit a deer's neck killing it quickly. Fluttershy stepped out from the bushes and put the arrow she had in her hand back in the quiver and put her bow over her head before walking towards the dead deer.

"This will probably be enough for a few weeks. Unless i'm unlucky and someone steals it." she said to herself as she pulled the arrow out.

She grabbed the deer's legs and tied them together before dragging it.

'Amazing how much I have changed because of this war. Before I would have spewed by the thought of killing an animal, but now it's a part of my daily life.' she thought to herself as she came up to her cottage.

She strung up the deer and pulled out a knife and proceeded to skin the animal. It was hard and time consuming, but she got it done after a while. She then cut the deer into pieces and took them into a storage room next to the cottage.

Pinkamena

The meadow was quiet and dry. No flowers. No life at all. Just dry land.
Pinkamena walked through the dry meadow eyeing every direction to make sure no changeling was following her. None. A sigh of relief escaped her mouth as she continued to walk towards ponyville.

A slight breeze picked up letting her straight silky hair flow in the wind. It was amazing how her life changed over the years. It started sad and boring on her family's farm, then she became a comedian and now she is somewhere in between. It felt like there was a pattern laid out in front of her. Everything was going to repeat itself if someone didn't do something. She had to do something. But what was she going to do? She was one of a few thousands of people. Sure she had given the information to successfully assassinate Nightmare Moon, but that was vengeance for her family. She sighed.

"How did it all come to this?" And why?" she said as she came over a hill letting her view the remains of ponyville.

Rarity

The train tracks was overgrown by plants and the train itself was no longer in use. As what looked like it had been a train station came into view a few hundreds of meters away. Rarity continued to walk down the train tracks and after a while she reached the station. Rarity bumped into a sign on the ground with her foot and she looked down.

Ponyville Train Station

The word ponyville caused tears to form in her eyes.

"I'm sorry I couldn't protect you..." she said as she wiped the tears away and walked into ponyville.
