Chapter one-The beginning

Brandon immediately woke up, only to see him inside a plane full of passengers. He rubbed his eyes as he remembered that he was on his way back home from Japan.

He was then startled when he heard the Pilot’s voice over the intercom.

“WE WILL BE ARRIVING AT THE ROCHESTER INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN APPROXIMATELY TWO MINUTES.”

Brandon sighed, forgetting the strange dream, and was ready to get home. He then heard a groan from the seat next to him.

A female anthropomorphic wolf with a pink hoodie and blue jeans. She then rubbed her blue eyes and turned to notice that her son was awake from his nap. “Mmmmh how much longer until we land again?” The female wolf asked, tired.

“The pilot said two minutes Mom,” Brandon answered.

Brandon and his mother both waited for the plane to reach the terminal. While they were waiting, Brandon was thinking about that strange dream he had.

It was odd to him because he had seen strange stuff happen to him. What didn’t make sense was that it only happened when he was getting back home from Japan, nor did it help the fact that it occurred just now and it left him confused.

What was all that about?” Brandon thought to himself. “I mean ponies, large insect creatures, and creatures of darkness. What’s next, a crazy genocidal clown.

As the plane made it to the terminal, Brandon and his mother began making their way down to the baggage claim. They then started to grab their suitcases and headed outside.

Brandon and his mother were walking outside of the airport building. Brandon closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He couldn’t believe that summer was already over and yet it felt weird for him to be back in his state starting school again.

Minnesota, home. At least it still is ever since I left this state or better yet this country.” Brandon thought.

"Hello! Sorry, we're late!"

His train of thought was interrupted when he noticed 2 figures standing near a car.

One of them was a female white-furred Nubian Goat, structured with droopy ears and short horns. She has a pair of visible fangs and long eyelashes, and her irises have a dark red tint. She has an anthropomorphic body, with paws at the end of her limbs.

The other is a human, wearing a lime and cream-colored striped hoodie and red-brown pants, and green shoes. She has tan skin, brown hair, and red eyes.

"Hope you guys weren't waiting too long." The goat lady said.

Brandon and his mother hugged Toriel. “Not at all Toriel, we were wondering when you showed up.” She said happily. “It’s so good to see you guys.”

“It’s good to see you too Misty,” Toriel replied. “I missed you guys while you were gone.”

Brandon then looked at the girl, who was smiling at him. “It’s good to see you Chara. How is my little sis doing.” Brandon asked happily.

“I’m doing fine, thanks for asking,” Chara said happily.

Toriel clapped her hands. "Whelp. I bet you're just itching to get home, but I have to get some gas first if that's alright with you two."

Toriel smiled and the three entered the car. After a short and awkward drive, Toriel stepped out of the car. She was about to fill the gas tank, but her cell phone started ringing.

She pulled it out and knew who was calling her. "Oh, It's Asgore. Sorry, but I need to take this." Toriel said, apologizing.

As she walked off, Misty decided to step out as well. She then started heading toward the gas station without turning around.

"I’m gonna use the restroom real quick, make sure no one steals the car." She said.

With both Misty and Toriel gone, Brandon and Chara were all alone, or at least they thought they were alone. When they were both out of sight, Brandon started seeing images of creatures from his dream.

“What are you thinking about over there?” Chara asked curiously.

Brandon whipped around to see Chara, who was sitting in her seat next to him. “I had this weird dream during my plane ride back here.” He replied.

"What was it about?" She asked.

Brandon then explained to Chara what he remembered seeing in his dream. Hearing about this, Chara started questioning what he was seeing. “This sounds crazy. I mean, random ponies, insect creatures. Don’t you think this is a little weird?” She asked, confused.

“I don’t know, it felt too real to be something this weird,” Brandon replied curiously. “Even if it is weird, it doesn’t explain why it happened during my flight home.”

Chara began to stare out of the window. “I honestly thought you still had that dream about-“

“Can we not talk about this anymore.” Brandon interrupted.

Toriel came back apologizing for wandering off but assured me that the call was very important. After Misty got back in the car, Toriel filled the gas tank and then they drove the rest of the way to their house.

As soon as they got back to their house, Brandon and the others got out of the car. They both got their luggage out of the vehicle and proceeded to carry them inside.

Well, it’s good to be back home at our mansion.” He thought.

Misty opened the front door of their home, only to hear the sound of a bunch of footsteps. They were both happy to see two male anthropomorphic goats, one big and one small, an anthropomorphic fish lady with an eyepatch, a yellow reptilian monster with glasses, a short skeleton with a blue hoodie and shorts, a tall skeleton with a red scarf, and two other humans that are the same age as Chara.

“Hey guys, how’s it going?” Brandon asked.

The fish lady began to grab him with a headlock and proceeded to give him a nuggie. “Hey Brandon, it’s good to see you again.” She said. “How is one of our favorite humans doing?”

Brandon smiled and chuckled a little. “We’re doing fine, thanks Undyne.” He said.

“How was your guy's trip back home?” The reptilian monster asked.

“It was good. We mostly slept on the way home.” Misty replied.

“Luckily you’re just in time, we were almost finished with dinner.” The tall skeleton said happily.

“Alright then, we’ll be in rooms dropping off our luggage,” Brandon replied,

The two began to head to their rooms. As Brandon made it to his room, he looked at all of his stuff that was still there. This included a flat-screen tv with powerful speakers, a PS4, his queen-sized bed, and a few various posters of anime shows and video games.

Brandon then placed his luggage on his bed and started to unpack his clothes, laptop, and his shower kit. He sighed as he began to sit on his desk chair, only to notice a picture frame of his mother, his little sister, and his… father.

I wish you could be with us, father, but you can’t.” He thought sadly. “It’s not fair that they took you away.

“Brandon! Dinner’s ready!” His mom called.

“Ok, be there in a second.” He replied.

Brandon got up and started to look at his picture one last time before leaving.

As he left his room, Brandon began to head to the dining table enjoying the food, drinks, and laughs. During that time, Brandon started telling them about their time in Japan.

Brandon was laying on his bed. After a glorious dinner with everyone, he decided to relax until it was time to go to sleep. Although, thoughts began to race inside his head.

I can’t believe it’s been three years since my father got arrested, and yet I still couldn’t let it go.” He thought. “Even though he didn’t commit any crimes in his life, they still did it just because of what they believed.”

(Brandon’s POV, three years ago)

That night...I had to come home at seven.

I was walking home after playing a few games with my friends at one of their houses’. Everything was fine when on my way back to my house, that is until I heard a familiar voice.

“I didn’t do anything at all!”

“Quit resisting!”

I paused as I heard two voices coming from my direction. It sounded a lot like my dad was arguing with someone, but it didn’t sound like my mother. As I got closer to my house, I saw the most shocking thing that was happening.

My Father was handcuffed, being dragged by two police officers, and about to be put in a police car.

“This is ridiculous, I would never do anything like this,” Dad said.

“Yeah, yeah. Tell it to the judge.” One officer replied.

I was confused by why they were arresting him. I knew that he would never commit any crimes, so why were they doing this?

I was about to intervene and ask what was going on, but then as soon as they put him in the car, they began to get in the car and drove off. I immediately wanted to catch up to him but decided to ask my mom about this.

I went to my mom who was standing outside near the front door. “Mom, what’s going on!? Why is dad getting arrested.” I asked, surprised.

She looked at me horrified as if she didn’t have a clue about what happened. “I don’t even know anymore.” She said. “They suddenly just knocked on our door and told me that he was arrested for murdering a bunch of civilians with nature.”

At that moment, I was confused and bewildered by what I heard. Did they arrest him for killing people with plants? Honestly, it sounds like a ridiculous story that someone was trying to make or more out of a fantasy story.

“Mommy, big brother. Where’s dad?”

I looked behind my mom, only to see my 10-year-old sister, standing there confused and worried. I didn’t want her to worry about our father, but I didn’t want to lie to her also.

(Back to the third point of view)

Brandon sighed as he laid on his bed. This all happened to him so fast, and yet he couldn’t do anything about it.

*DING*

He suddenly heard a text message sent from his phone. He thought that it was one of his friends that were texting him, but as soon as he saw the message, it was from a mysterious person.

"Do you wish to pursue the truth?"

This made Brandon suspicious of who this person was or what he wanted. He then replied to the message.

Who is this?

It seems my message reached out to you. If you want to truly grasp the truth, then press the picture I sent you.

Brandon immediately saw a picture of what looked like the universe. He then decided that it was a random person trying to scam him for money, and decided to delete the text message. But as he tried to do that a bunch of times, it wouldn’t get deleted.

This was odd because some random guy just texted him for no apparent reason. There was also the fact that he was asked about the weirdest question. Pursuing the truth? What did that even mean?

Being cautious, he decided to press the picture. His phone then started glowing brighter and brighter in his hands, making him shield his eyes. His whole body was being engulfed in light and then suddenly disappearing from his bed.

As the bright glow subsided, Brandon opened his eyes only to see that he wasn’t in his room, nor was he inside his house. Instead, he was in a forest somewhere, sitting on the ground with his street clothes on the inside of his PJs.

“Where am I?” He asked himself. “And how did I get here?”

Brandon got up and realized that the picture of the universe was completely gone. This threw him off even more that he had no idea why it even appeared in the first place.

Without any idea of what was going on, Brandon decided to head down the path of the forest. Little did he know that a certain person or monster was spying on him.
